Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

IMPORTANT

This is a newer set of KAD Mini's so even if you have the older set you will need the download, sorry

The newer set are shown as (UKGTL) so you will be able to distinguish them from the older cars.

Never driven these before, so did 25 minutes or so last night...

Am I missing a trick on setup on these? Could barely keep it on track most of the time, either on braking, turn in or power on....Could be tricky if that carries on!

I will drive them on Wednesday so don't know but the Mini's seem to have a problem with braking. Try Brake bias as much as possible on the front.

I tried a handful of laps earlier & yes they are difficult on default setup. I have driven them quite often before but have not yet uncovered one of my old setups so started from scratch. As DD said move brake bias more to the front (think I found 73/27 quite good), add a bit of rear toe-in & quite a lot more rear camber, that should go some way to solving the braking problem. Not sorted the power understeer yet, but try more toe-out, bit less power diff & softer springs & dampers. Finally tyre pressures are way too high on default, almost minimum settings seem about right.

I will try to upload my setup when it's about finalised.

One might take some pressure off the brakes, also...96% or even less. So far 94% seems to be working, but I may take even more off >90%<95%.

I have uploaded my setup to the online files, still a little tricky but better than default for sure.

But not much, just could not get it really driveable for me. Could not find any of my old setups for the car & clearly the one I had knocked up was not particularly good & spent more time off track than on it in practice & qually & the race was no better. After flying off the track at the hairpin I finished on the wrong side of the barriers & could not be bothered trying to find a way back. >:(

Well you fared better than I did Geoffers.
I was a little late ( sounds better than slow! ::)) getting on to the server, only to discover that I had the wrong KAD Mini........should've read the race post and pm'd Tony like it said for the car pack. :-\.
Quali had started so no point in bothering Tony and anyway, no time to install etc. Such a shame I missed racing those lovely Minis  :shifty: :whistling:

There is a technical hitch with the results so they will be somewhat delayed  :helpsmilie:

I wonder if it's what happened near the end of the race when I was suddenly dropping down the order and then it returned back to normal about half a minute later.

For this one I was expecting to struggle, because such FWD cars have never been my cup of tea, so I did extensive testing 2 days ago, working on the setup and learning how to extract more speed from the car. Ended up doing some 60 laps in total, but it was quite productive.

Still would have probably lost the race to Daz, had it not have been for his off while we were fighting for the lead and judging by how quick he was in the closing laps as I was struggling on worn out fronts. Even before his off, he was a constant threat in my mirrors, so I guess he must have found an even better setup solution or can just better drive the Mini.

For me the solution was setting up the rear at maximum stiffness - springs, anti-roll bar, bump and rebound (oddly made the car more stable), plus maximum negative camber and a negative toe. The front was in the opposite direction - as soft as possible, to cure the tendency to understeer. Tyre pressures were also set very low. The gearing was also key, gaining valuable hundreds and tenths when it was revving somewhere around the mid-range. I still had worse acceleration out of corners compared to Daz though. Perhaps I still ran too much of a differential lock, not sure.

Anyway, congrats to Daz for the recovery and everyone else who survived to the end of the race.

I'll have a look with Autosimanalyzer, but that will be only late afternoon when I'm on my private PC.

It's Ok Kurt, we know where the problem lies, just awaiting the fix.

How this track got on the favorites list is a mystery to me - it'll definitely never be on mine.

Thanks to Geoffers for the uploaded setup.  Was a bit better than the KAD setup I had from earlier - which you may have had a hand in too incidently  :)   Only thing I changed was to raise the ride height 0.5 cm.  Have been paying attention to this lately. Instinct has always been to go for the lowest possible, but I find on bumpy and/or high curb tracks, giving the suspension a little room to work actually helps. Probably trivial to most of you, but has been a bit of an eye opener for myself.

Race was tough and mostly frustrating.   Got a good start, getting ahead of Dimitar, but he reclaimed the position quickly.  As expected, the leaders buggered off, and in a repeat of Monday's race, I once again had Matt chasing me.  This time I was slowly pulling away, so felt a little more secure.   Minding my own business, I suddenly spot a dust cloud and a recovering Daz.  Maybe there were opportunities after all?

When he went off a 2nd time, I slipped past.  Soon on my case, and being distracted by his presense, I hit the inner curb in the first chicane too hard.  Car went on two wheels and of course the bloody thing had to roll.  Took forever to right itself, by which time Matt and of course Daz were long past.  Chased after Matt for many laps but eventually caught up.  Dropped back again more than once, from having to back off too hard to avoid hitting him under braking.  Matt finally made a mistake, running wide before the hairpin, allowing me to get past.  What happened next?  The one thing that couldn't, musn't, should not happen:  I ran wide in that confounded double right hander on the back straight.  Don't think I've ever done a race here without that 'feature' getting me sooner or later.  By the time I had forced the car back on track, Matt was past again and I was back to square one.

The ensuing red mist among all the expletives made me lose all focus and rhythm, dropping me further back.  Did eventually close the gap again, but mistakes on increasingly bad tyres - like locking up and ploughing straight into the barrier at chicane 2, didn't help at all.   In racing however, as is so often proved, things can be turned on their head before you know it.  Starting on the final lap, Matt ran wide in T1, bumping over the curb and letting me close the gap.  Next what no doubt couldn't, shouldn't, must not happen for him, happened - he again ran wide before the hairpin.  That let me past to claim an unexpected and not quite deserved 3rd place.  Hadn't noticed passing Dimitar at all, but replay suggests he went to serve a S/G.

Grats to Hristo on the win & Daz for 2nd.  Commiserations for all who met with misfortune of various kind.
