(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. (3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable. Special Notes: See IMPORTANT post below. Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: Wiltshire Tony on March 22, 2021, 10:19:45 PM +0000 Four test races as a prelude to the upcoming 2021 NoGrip Legacy Championship.
It would help Lasse enormously if all the cars get taken, so that any last minute bugs can be fixed before the Championship begins. Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: Dimitar Dulichki on March 22, 2021, 11:01:57 PM +0000 Maybe we can start choosing cars so all of them will be tested?

Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: Nappe1 on March 23, 2021, 07:03:42 AM +0000 Good morning guys.
really nice to see that long evenings of last 3 months are appreciated. :) Car pack closed beta 0.8 was sent to testers Saturday and I will release 0.9 beta for the test races, hopefully tonight. There was some bugs found and I have / I will fix the critical physics based ones for the 0.9, but the graphical error stuff will wait for the 1.0 version. Huge thanks to Tony, Dave, SpecialKS and CY-33 about helping me out with this. Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: Wiltshire Tony on March 24, 2021, 11:17:04 PM +0000 IMPORTANT
As this event will hopefully have non-regular UKGTL drivers joining us we need to make sure that the standard Donington race times are used, otherwise it will be a miss-match fest. Please check that your nDonington.gdb file says the following // AI Vehicle Filter = nDonington Filter Properties = Practice1Start = 06:00 TestDayStart = 17:30 Qualify1Start = 17:00 RaceStart = 12:00 RaceLaps = 60 Attrition = 20 Pit Board Location = Left You can open and edit the nDonington.gdb file with Notepad or similar. If in doubt extract this into your Donington folder and allow to overwrite. https://www.mediafire.com/file/lwb765gfkv5l3qe/Donington.zip/file Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: fpolicardi on March 25, 2021, 10:46:23 AM +0000 Thx Tony, I would like to join on Monday, maybe with a 500 ;D

If there are choices in Class 2 or 3 that are not taken I don't mind dropping on to them if needed, this is testing after all.... Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: Nappe1 on March 29, 2021, 05:25:43 PM +0100 Some of the cars have very few skins, but I (at least) intend to make some more before season start. If any of you want to make personal skin for the season, Here's your chance. Just ask templates for certain car and I will deliver link for them. After the skin is finished, you can sent it to me with email. :)
Even though quite few cars have changed physics, you don't need to limit yourself driving these only. It is very much needed to check everything works correctly so wide variety cars is good thing. :) Here's the list of cars that have new or changed physics: Under 500cc: Suzuki Fronte Coupe 700cc: None 850cc: Simca Sim'4 1000cc: All Cars 1300cc: All Cars 1600cc: All Cars 2000cc: None Over 2000cc: None Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: misnoimis on March 29, 2021, 06:18:33 PM +0100 I will try to join for some races. Due to a change of plans during the day I decided I would feel energetic enough to take part in some testing during the evening. I downloaded the NGL1970 HTC car set and installed it in a separate folder. I copied the GTL 1964 Saloon Car Champ Folder, changed the name where necessary, removed all the current cars and sounds and replaced them with the new Car and Sound folders.
I did this at about 5pm. By 6pm it was all working fine off line. I had a meal and joined at about 7.30pm, or tried to. When I got to the loading drivers screen and nocta was loading the screen locked up with just name nocta flashing in the middle of the screen. After about six re-entry attempts with different cars I got in with the Grp 2 Suzuki. Not a car I had ever driven before to my knowledge but it worked on the default settings although the Abarths seemed to be about 30 mph faster down the straights. For race two I checked that I was trying to load the correct Group 1 cars but was unable to join with any. The screen just kept scrolling though the list of all the drivers, their names flashing in the centre of the screen and the background greyed out. I could only leave the programme by pressing Alt, Ctrl and delete. After about four attempts to join with different cars I noticed in the background that all the drivers were using the Suzuki Grp 2 car so I thought I must have missed a post and tried to join with that but no joy. So I gave up and watched TV. Looking at the results I see that the Group 1 cars I was trying to load were used and I was in the race in a Suzuki but DQ'd. Very strange because I never got into the pits even as my screen had locked up and I had to use Alt, Ctrl and delete to exit and close down the non responding programme. I think I will delete and reinstall all but if anyone has any idea's as to what I did wrong or what happened please let me know. The system I used usually works so maybe it was a glitch or something got corrupted. Mike ??? Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: Wiltshire Tony on March 30, 2021, 11:14:48 AM +0100 Mike, when you can't get past a screen showing another drivers name and you get the flashing you describe it means that you do not have the car that that driver is using correctly installed.
In order to race online, you must have all of the cars correctly installed on your system, even the ones you do not intend to use yourself. Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: Dimitar Dulichki on March 30, 2021, 11:30:10 AM +0100 I don't think i was DQ in Race 2 Tony but I'll check the replay. Ok, let me know and I'll change/fix it.Yep, no DQ. It's been nice races yesterday. I like the new Simca 1000 a lot. The only thing i don't like in the mod are that few of the cars have hard brakes which makes them lock very easy and the volume level of the Giannini's. They are just too loud. Should make for some excellent racing this season.
I had three great races, although two of them were quite uneventful, but just could not get the Capri to handle well around Donington in race 4. Very happy that the Minis now seem competitive, previously they were rather outclassed by their opposition. ;D Did not find any issues with the cars I drove other than getting the setups right. Looking forward to the upcoming races, should be great fun. :thumbup2: Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: misnoimis on March 30, 2021, 12:01:35 PM +0100 Mike, when you can't get past a screen showing another drivers name and you get the flashing you describe it means that you do not have the car that that driver is using correctly installed. Thanks Tony, I installed all the cars and sounds in the set I downloaded but it appears something went wrong. I will reinstall again this evening. BTW I can see all the cars in my garage and can use them off-line, a bit strange? I guess my installation got corrupted. Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: Daz9 on March 30, 2021, 03:03:18 PM +0100 I would say that Mini in race 3 was 'at least' competitive Geoff, if not class leading.....no excuses for you any more there ;)
Some good stuff last night. Made a hash of race 1, but got a couple of OK laps out of the Suzuki eventually. It is very slow in comparison to the bigger engine cars of Division 0.5 though, 6 seconds off the pace....as long as that is in line with the Giannini 500 then I guess all is good there though. NSU TTS was a nice drive, and more benign than the usual NSU TT. Showed decent pace, but not easy to pull away from the Simca and Mini. NSU TT1200 was back to the usual though, will spin like a waltzer if you are not careful to operate within its limits, as I proved on the back straight (sorry Tony!), and not as competitive as the TTS maybe..... Escort BDB needs more setup, mine wasn't quite there and Dan looked pretty stable at the same pace as me in the Alfa, whilst I was all over the place. Good fun as always though, but not as fast in that car as I was last time I used it here.... Looking forward to the years racing.... Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: Geoffers on March 30, 2021, 03:47:19 PM +0100 Yes Daz the 1275 Mini really surprised me, I honestly thought I would struggle for pace in it. It actually feels more sluggish than the 1000 Mini I used earlier, but clearly isn't. I actually went 2s faster in the race than I had achieved in testing! :o
Title: Re: NoGrip Legacy Season 2021 - Donington Park - Mar 29 Post by: Nappe1 on March 30, 2021, 04:04:42 PM +0100 Yes Daz the 1275 Mini really surprised me, I honestly thought I would struggle for pace in it. It actually feels more sluggish than the 1000 Mini I used earlier, but clearly isn't. I actually went 2s faster in the race than I had achieved in testing! :o Minis are least powerful cars in their classes. :) - 850 was not changed from last year. It has 70hp if I recall right. - 1000 has ~103 hp (while all the others in same class have 108-118hp). Last year Cooper 970 S had 115hp. - 1275GT has actually around 8 hp less than last year. (140 vs. 132) This year's version is based on real world torque curve of the #15 car. For example, Escort 1000 BD has ~30 hp MORE than Mini 1000, but has also a lot more mass, torque and much bigger coeffient drag / frontal area. In my AI driven tests 1600cc cars are about 2.5 seconds faster than 1300cc cars, so Donington National as track, plus the shear volume of 1300cc cars in Div 2 race definitely effected the out come of the result. I doubt that Geoffers is losing himself with Escort TC when comparing his 1275GT lap times. Great work, Nappe! :thumbup1: Well known problem here: I have a stable connection until I leave the game for whatever reason. When reentering I nearly always loose connection. ??? Need to shut the game down completely and restart it for again having a stable connection. I have tried 90% of the cars, they all work fine offline with the exception of the Capri 2300 which causes the SIM to CTD every time. Anyone else have this problem? I see some used it in a race so it looks to be confined to me making me wonder if I will be able to join on-line races. I have all the cars in the set in my garage.
