The 7th race in the 1967 Grand Prix series finds us in Baden-Württemberg (Germany).
We will visit the very fast and well known circuit Hockenheimring.

Handicapping
This serie is a joint championship with GPL Brazil so, please, read carefully these new and specific rules :

Drivers will have a FREE CHOICE of chassis however, a bonus of 50 championship points will awarded to each driver that uses all 7 chassis.

To qualify for bonus points, each chassis should be used at least once and no chassis can be used more than twice."

A bonus point will be awarded for pole position.

A bonus point will be awarded for the fastest lap.

Any driver who uses the same chassis more than twice will not be awarded any bonus points.

A driver must cross the start line in order to register the use of a chassis, participation in qualifying is not sufficient.

It is not necessary to use 7 different chassis for the first 7 races.
However at the end of the season, all 7 chassis must have been used to qualify for the bonus points.

Points will be allocated from 1st to 12th as follows: 20, 15, 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Drivers must complete 75% race distance to score.
All rounds count towards the driver's championship.

For each race, only the top two drivers from each team count towards team championship.
All rounds count towards team championship.

Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents do carry an extra 1 place penalty.

Only reported incidents will be moderated.

that cannot be true- first straight my engine broke. f*ck lotus

Sorry to the ferrari I collected. I hit the wall and was a passenger as my car bounced back on the track spinning forward and collecting that ferrari. I think you were able to continue. I lost a wheel, end of race. Two races in a row I crashed on my own on the first lap, with the Eagle. Starting to think I made the wrong car choice.

Mass disco? Evil disappeared in front of me, suddenly I wS 5th. Screen shook as I headed down first long straight and I didn't brake, then I had a three wheeler...

Decided to go in the inferior Honda today because of its top speed. Apart from me the grid was made of only Lotus, Eagle and Ferrari cars. Managed to qualify in 8th, maybe had potential for another 2-3 tenths, but that was it. Start went quite well, in the opening laps I profited from 2 cars in front of me which went off, and I slowly made progress through the field, one car by another. Had a hard time closing up to Frank, but when I got there on lap 5 and actually completed the move down the backstraight, I couldn't get any further than the beginninng of the pit straight before a screen freeze put an early end to my race. Up until then it was a race filled with good and respectful racing, shame it had to end so early. Having missed several rounds because I had trouble fitting them in my schedule, it's now probably even more safe to say that this season wasn't meant for me. :( To the remaining cars, I hope the race turns out to be as much fun for you as it was for me in the opening laps. :)

  1- sorry tristan for the fist, for no kick jonnie I touch the grass and loose the car.
  2- i'm a real disater in thi. the beginning of the year, has not been very good for me to train, and had a lot of work and so my results so low
   i only stay running in ms season, and I dont fight for nothing.
  3- sorry for the drivers  I have been harmed through all races 55 for this season no more,
  i'm not prepared for rest of the races.

That sucks! I had got myself to P2 before the disco. It was going to be difficult for anybody to catch me, especially if I didn't lose +2.5 seconds at Ostkurve on one lap.

I'm guessing this one will be rerun on another track?

   After replay 8 drivers freeze !

Could have finished 5th here without to much effort plus my superior driving skills  ;D

As the server had no problem, I suspect a problem by a driver with much lag and a not fixed track

Evil and I were in the Opel Kurve when he disappeared. I continued for a while and expired at the Ost Kurve... I do not recall if was on the lap after the mass disco or the lap after that, but as I was approaching the braking point for Ost my screen/connection/something wobbled a little which disoriented me and I think I missed my braking point (or it didn't register my braking input?), leading me to slam into the barriers and lose a wheel. Did you see anything for that Cookie? I was not disconnected but I forgot to save the replay.

    I'm from South America, so I have a good school on connection problems.
  There is a chronic problem here between Brazil and Argentina in addition to the rivalry of football. Which is the connection between the two countries, it was never satisfactory, it is normal for races between us where you can clearly see some drivers with a lot of lag, blinking like fireflies, these sometimes end up falling out of the race, but I never saw a massive drop because of a pilot. I have some replays to watch for anyone interested.
  The Hokenhein 67 track is one of my favorites, not by chance I left the eagle for her, but, in online races, without a flat statistic, in a totally random order, I observe freeze in some events with AI, as well as Zolder, another favorite track for me :( .

As you are moderator (with me) of this serie, do you think we have to cancel this round and to race again in Hockenheim or elsewhere ?

The next free sunday is on 13 June...

   As a moderator, I reschedule this race again for the next weekend, and as a moderator I have an obligation to participate in it.

   And as a moderator, I vote for those who have completed 100% of the race to be able to participate or not in the next one, these being the option to keep their points.

   Remembering that this option cannot be valid for a moderator, I will participate in the next race.
  This is my vote.
(my vote is based on my opinion, I have no knowledge of this event under the rules of the UKGPL, I don't want to go over that)

   I had a lot of races on this track, I believe that it is not 100% reliable, but the error rate is very low, can we risk in a lightning strike falling in the same place? I think so.
if you repeat the problem, we will delete this track until the concert

So... if the podium choose not to race/cannot race then other people take the podium and get those points? Sounds weird, and potentially disadvantages others who finish in different positions at the end of the season.

I think you just need to accept it was an unlucky event and leave as is. Discos rarely happen to me happily, but it has been known - we don't rerun races for individual discos and all that they did differently was disco alone...

By all means rerun the race for 'moral' victories/fun/test the circuit but for those reasons only

I have been experiencing more freeze since November 2020, and until the first 3 or 4 races in 2021.
I changed my hard drive, and since then, no more freezes
I don't know if I'm off topic, but I wanted to remind you. I try to help as much as I can...

The UKGPL rules are at the bottom of this page (https://www.ukgpl.com/index.php/rules/etiquette). The rules state:

In the event of a mass disconnection or other server problem occurring after lap one. The moderator may:

• Reconstruct the result based on the replay.
• Declare the race to be red flagged at the end of the preceding lap and take the final results from that lap.
• Declare the race null and void and arrange for it to be run again.

But given that this is a joint championship, the GPL Brazil rules have an equal standing.

At UKGPL we have tended to avoid rerunning races because it is difficult to decide where to draw the line. If we are not careful we may go down the path of rerunning races for the slightest problem (not that I'm suggesting that is the case here). We also have a very busy schedule so it is difficult to find a slot where all the original participants are available for a rerun. However, if David and JonnyO can agree a new date, a rerun maybe the way forward.

    in this case we will follow the UKGPL regulation, because in GPLBrasil we are not predicting, the decision is unilateral by the administrator, so we will use the UKGPL regulation.

  I could vote for the red flag and follow the result, but I won the race and my vote would not be ethical.

  If you understand, I have to stay out of that decision.

  I accept the decision of the other moderator.

In my opinion, we could rerun the race on sunday 13 June   OR  take the results from lap 5 which is the easiest solution.

Is everybody OK with this result ?

I would like a rerun in June. The standings after 5 laps can only barely be representative of what could happen in a 25 lap race, especially considering the laptimes around Hockenheim.

I am happy to keep the result  :P didn't we have summat similar at Montjuic? The joys of online racing, but if others want a re-run it'll give me time to practice  ;D.  Obvious question: Why would we expect no mass disco a second time?

I also had some misfortune in the early laps, Raoni attempting a pass as I turned into the stadium section which ended his race and dropped me from 2nd to 7th.  After rejoining I had Tris on my tail who didn't take long to get by esp after I ran wide on one of the many occasions through Nordkurve then blocked me by weaving, guess you thought I did the same to you earlier in the lap but it wasn't deliberate, I drifted about a bit looking at prib, not that that is any excuse.  Largely boring race after that I was counting the laps down running a distant third (...ooh the irony if it was all for nowt!), then had a few moments just to break the boredom!

Maybe this problem is related with last cumulative windows update of April that came out last week? I haven't installed them yet, but many simmers are complaining about stability problems in game after have installed them.

A new attempt might be called for.
