Title: UKGPL Season 38 (Spring 2021) 1965 F1 - Amateurs - Funabashi - May 18

Season 38 1965F1 – Round 9 – Amateurs - Funabashi

We are off to Japan for Round 9. The Funabashi circuit was constructed in 1965 on a section of the Tokyo Bay waterfront in Funabashi City. It was a very small track that was well suited to the Honda S600 and Toyota Sports 800 which were the popular Japanese Sports cars at the time. However, it didn't take long for the cars to outgrow the little circuit. Soon tracks like Suzuka and Fuji, larger venues capable of hosting truly world class competitions, began to overshadow Funabashi. Cash flow issues led to management disputes, and after just 35 races in two years Funabashi Circuit closed its doors July 1967.

Well there is something very strange going on with the servers at the moment.

I installed this track on both my servers and I could connect to both of them and race off-line with no problem. I did about 12 laps in qually to test the fuel consumption with no issues.  I did a few more laps and then with about 20 mins to go I got a CTD. I must have tried to connect a dozen times and each time a CTD.

Just tried testing the track off-line and I have no problems.  ???

No problems in testing offline or online. But I got a FREEZE on Lap 13 whilst in 2nd place. Frozen screen, engine sound on loop, steering wheel (physical) stuck solid in postion. Only option was to power down at power-button and re-boot. So frustrating.

I guess that happens sometimes :(

Very small grid this evening. Where was/is everyone?

EDIT: I've had 2 freezes in this championship and they've both been whilst driving the Honda. Significant or coincidence?

Probably not. I've driven the Honda in every round. I've had 2 CTDs, one here and one at Sandown. But I've finished the other 7 races. David Rainier drove the Honda today, and he finished.

I had my freeze at qualifying, rejoined and could finish the race.

Philippe had a magical pole lap  :o  and I settled for second.

After the start, he ran wide at the long left hander and I was infront and could just concentrate on my rithm.

Hey I want my throphys, Sandown included!  :sweatdrop:
