For the 9th race in the 1967 Grand Prix series,  we visit Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit Bathurst a motor racing track located in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia.
It is best known as the home of the Bathurst 12 Hour motor race, held each February, and the Bathurst 1000 motor race, held each October.
The track is 6.213 km (4 mi) long, and is technically a street circuit, as the circuit is a public road when no racing events are being run, and there are many residences which can only be accessed from the circuit.
The track is an unusual design by modern standards, with a 174-metre (570-foot) vertical difference between its highest and lowest points, and grades as steep as 1:6.13. From the start-finish line, the track can be viewed in three sections; the short pit straight and then a tight left turn into the long, steep Mountain straight; the tight, narrow section across the top of the mountain itself; and then the long, downhill section of Conrod Straight, and the turn back onto pit straight to complete the lap.

Grats to all finishers.
The plan was to simply get the BRM to the finish and it was working quite well until...................I missed a gear change at the end of Conrod Straight and went from 6th-3rd at 180mph  :-\. After that it did not go quite as fast

I know of a unique BRM H13.5 in almost showroom condition for sale at knock down price. ::)

Mid race I had a save 4th positiom just controling the distance to Claudio Navonne,
when I met a bump in the braking zone that let me miss the b-point...

Just touched the fence with my nose, but it was glued.
Even the reverse gear in different revs did not help - tyres went red and gpl decided to take me out...

Blew my engine in the last qualifying lap of what cold be a front row start.

Come the race and I had a bit better pace than Markus. Had a good run on him at the back straight by the 12th lap, a little glance by the left lane after the jump but landed not straight enough,  car spinning, race thrown to the bin.

Congratulations Greg on your stunning victory!
Starting from last position you made us all look like beginners in the end. I spun once and lost around 15 seconds. Soon after that you overtook me on the long straight. The Ferrari's top speed helped of course. I could defend a few times against Leo who unfortunately lost it while attacking me. It was quite intense before and I already had to defend my position several times.
After my spin, I no longer had a close competitor. In the end I gained one more spot due to Tristan's mistake, or was it a disconnect?
I like the track a lot, it is quite challenging with the long series of fast and slow corners, going up and downhill like a roller coaster. And the long straight provides some rest and overtaking opportunities (even when it did not help me very much because of the low top speed of the Cooper).

And congrats to Fulvio for the championship. Nobody can catch you anymore. Not sure if it was already the case before this race but congrats anyway!!

For me, my personal racer was a complete disaster.
First at the start I was stuck with the gearbox in neutral, and I was accelerating in neutral (!!!), thus ruining a good position on the grid. I started to pass cars, but I had said goodbye to a direct fight for a place on the podium. When I finally managed to pass Clive (he was going very fast in the BRM!!!) I thought it was time to try to catch Cookie. I think I thought too much, because when I saw him stuck in the wire on the last corner, I got distracted and lost my braking point and lost a wheel to the wooden fence. I couldn't believe I had made such a stupid mistake.
I had forgotten how beautiful this track is, and I'm already thinking of proposing it for the next oAo season. As we recreate a typical sixties calendar, we always start with races in the southern hemisphere (Oceania, South America and South Africa).
Thank you for organising this championship! We'll meet in Reims, I've already had the oil changed in the Honda.

Congrats Markus and Fulvio! It looks like Fulvio will be champion. Excellent job!

Congratulations Greg on your stunning victory!
Starting from last position you made us all look like beginners in the end.

Thanks Markus! I got a little lucky to win. Tristan wrecked late in the race when all he needed was to run 2:02.5 the last 5 or 6 laps. I thought I qualified poorly for the Works race. This was very bad. I rolled the car on my outlap. I still thought I had a chance for a podium because of all the Coopers but I thought I would need you, Tristan, and/or Leo to have problems to allow me onto the podium. I did great keeping the car pointed in the right direction and I think the only thing I touched that I shouldn't have was Eric or Phillipe's car. My apologies, I didn't expect you to slow down so much.

I enjoyed driving the Ferrari. It's the car that got me hooked on GPL. It still gives me the best chance of finishing a race. Driving so many mods and not driving the Ferrari much for the past few years has made me a little uncomfortable driving it. That's strange considering how it was the car I was most comfortable driving. I did come close to losing it 5 or 6 times. After 42 tries, I still couldn't drive the line I wanted across the top of the mountain. I think I can get a little better through the two left turns after you reach the top of the hill.

I'm very happy I can still finishing these long races. A severe injury kept me from doing it for 2 years. Not qualifying made it much more interesting. I'm not sure I could have taken the pressure from Tristan, Markus, and Leo had I qualified well. But I knew if I made it to the midpoint of the race, I should be driving well by that time. I don't have the time to prepare well for most races.

Thanks for the fun guys. I appreciate it.
