I'll be there for this one, but I'm still having issue with dodgy framerates so if I bail early that'll be why.  Bit of a pain in the arse, nothings changed on my system since before the problems so I haven't got a clue where to start looking.

Wouldn't have thought so but aren't you just reusing your old profile? Or is that lost forever?

Does nobody do backups any more?

What do you mean "any more". I've never known anyone out of the industry do them until they have a failure and loose something!

Unplug PC
Open PC
Clean dust.
Use hoover (oh so geeeeently). DO NOT let the airflow turn any of the fans (hold them down while cleaning). Rest of dust can be cleaned with a brush of some sort (made out of NATURAL fibres, plastic will fry your mobo due to static electricity). Do not wear anything made out of plastic, try to be grounded (barefoot, if nothing else).

Simple.

Best regards,

your computer maintenance guy.

Unplug PC
Open PC
Clean dust.
puter maintenance guy.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.  Should be fixed for next weekend, but I might have to give Tuesday's race a miss, had a race offline and was getting major problems before finishing the first lap.

I don't want to miss this one, but common sense (from a Legends Racing driver??) means I'm going to have to, I'd just be causing incidents all over the shop if I tried to race.

I've done a sub-1:32 in timetrial mode but that's not usually a true reflection of my actual pace in the race or qualifying.

To be fair, Donington was always one of my bogey tracks in GTR and I've put in far more practice and setup time than I normally would. I should do pretty well in the Sprint race (aiming for top 6) but as usual it's the Endurance race I'm really focussing on.

Come on then guys! Depress me with a few lap times!?

The Masters NGT Endurance race (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&event=258) on Sunday had qualifying times ranging from 1:30.6 to 1:33.7 and fastest race times ranging from 1:31.6 to 1:34.5, so I would expect the Academy qualifying times to be in the race times bracket of the Masters.

Sorry for quitting during qualli but I was having major problems with my wheel and pedals. I couldnt keep the thing on the track, and I "interrupted" 1 or 2 peoples qualli sessions. I apologise for that. Didnt want to cause any problems during the race itself so called it a day.

Hope you all had a good race.

Cheers

Well how bad could it get.

Had 2 offs, which put me back in 17th.
Thought I'd stick with, before having to evade a kerbcrawler and spinning off.
All that practice and I'm still crap. :'(
Couldn't get any near my times in qualifying for some reason.

Anyway congratulations to who ever wins.

And I'll see you all in the enduro.

Had a really bad qually but thankfully Luke my team mate was going to help me in the race. Bit of trouble with the coms as no one could hear me (damn mic) but then as he let me passed I clipped the kerb and went into him punting him off! Sorry about that mate!!

Managed to find my way up to 2nd and was behind Perdy although really couldn't get close enough to make a move. Then dropped it and had a brief spin so back to 3rd behind team mate Greg. He later had a slight off and I got back passed although he said he did it delibrately for the championship stakes  :P

So 2nd overall now very close at the top. Congrats to Perdy for the win, shame I had that spin or it might have been a bit closer.

Good race all and big thanks again to Luke (although we don't have any team orders!!)  ;)

Good show and bad luck.

Great race for me, marred by seeing Picnic retire when I need all the help I can get to try and stop 28CDm taking the NGT Team title.

Qualified well below where I was expecting, just couldn't get a good lap in. Finally hooked one up right at the end of qually but was still behind Picnic's TVR in about the middle of the pack.

The opening lap was... well, I was up to about 6th or 7th by the end of it, and carried on climbing after a great dice with a yellow Ferrari whose name I didn't recognise.

After a few more laps I slipped up the inside of the Fezza into the Melbourne Loop and was thus 4th, and there I stayed until the end of the race despite Greg's best efforts to chuck his car off the track. Tyres started to go off near the end and Luke Mustoo was heading my way at a great rate of knots until he was kind enough to spin off out of (I think) Coppice and give me some breathing room to bring it home just shy of a podium place.

I really rather looking forward to the Endurance race now! ;D

I did send you a reply but it doesn't show in my outbox!? Did you get my reply!?

sorry mate, didn't get the pm! try again!

Well quali was fun...Buckie and I had a great quali contest, pole snatching!!

But that was a tough race! Keeping concentration when on your own is suprisinly hard! The first half of the race was tough, got a good start...buckie left a bit too much of a gap on s/f line (you can come up to my rear bumper mate for future reference). Hope the pace lap was not too fast apart from that.

Paul had made up a few positions and I had already marked his card after looking at the championship table! :'( After buckie and rogue fell off the track Greg closed quickly and was keeping a second behind. Thankfully Paul R caught him and pressured him giving me some breathing space! If it wasn't for a mistake each by Paul and Greg then the finish wud have been so so close!!!!! Greg with fastest lap etc

This championship is hotting up! Bring on the next race Paul R and some wicked racing  ;)

Wondered who "Grecian Worship" was!

We might have to come up with a better plan for stopping those who are normally Masters from affecting the championships in the Acaedmy; the Vertigo was a good idea and I thank you for it. Unfortunately Greg's appearance in the Academy (with my blessing - boy do I feel like a chump now)  coupled with Picnic's DNF has extinguished the last (admittedly distant) hope of Team Shark getting the team championship. :'(

Good morning everyone,

Really sorry I didn't make this one. After leaving the practice yesterday and starting to get a nice set-up and pace, I logged off and then my internet connection went. Having big big problems with Orange at the minute and I think this might be part of the problem.

Anyway I wont be online at home for another 2 weeks so I will be back, with DFP for the next set off races.

Unfortunately Greg's appearance in the Academy (with my blessing - boy do I feel like a chump now)  coupled with Picnic's DNF has extinguished the last (admittedly distant) hope of Team Shark getting the team championship. :'(

Dont worry Dave, if all goes according to plan I will off down under in about 5 weeks.  It was nice to be able to enjoy my racing and relax for a change  ;)

So i took the vertislow and decieded to start plum last. Tried not to get in anyones way, dont think i did and finished 9th i think :D

Wondered who "Grecian Worship" was!

We might have to come up with a better plan for stopping those who are normally Masters from affecting the championships in the Acaedmy; the Vertigo was a good idea and I thank you for it. Well i was plannig on taking the 350Z lol but common sense prevailed  ;) ;D ;D

I was expecting not to score any points (let alone be included in the results) therefore those behind gain a place and some points! init?

At the moment the software which generates the results has no capacity to avoid giving points to "guest" drivers. Since the divisions are supposed to be ability-based, it's not generally desirable to have Masters in the Academy or vice versa.

That doesn't seem to be fair.  >:(  Academy driver who would get a point gets excluded 'cause "Masters wanna race, my boy"! ?  ???

I never said it was fair - I said the software isn't designed to have people racing in the "wrong" division.

I was looking forward to this race but my connection has decided to crap out on me. It will hopefully be fixed for the enduro. Though I am not hopeful.

Looks like I missed an eventful race!

Hi Dave

Just an explanation of why I baled out last night.

It seems that the frame rate problem I had last week at Laguna came back to haunt me.

After much gnashing of teeth I narrowed the problem down to my having installed the latest video drivers. 93.XX or something so I went back to the old drivers and everything now seems OK.

I must stop faffing about with my computer

Quite an intense race for me last night....
Quallied 6th with my PB and had Paul up behind me,he went up the inside of me and we just clipped each other which sent me into the gravel and down to 12th.
Fought my way back up the field and a few good battles on the way,was able to get upto 5th and with 7 minutes left I was 3 seconds behind Giz.started pushing to get up behind Giz and when I got within 1 second of him I spun out....
Got back on track and had 2 extremely intense final laps with Camusito(really sorry for the touch on last lap  :-X  :'( )and Rouge,in the end finished where I started 6th...
Not a bad final result....Fighting for the team championship  ;D :P

I was again having problems coming round the Melbourne loop - the point where the garages and other pit area structures are in view. Nowhere else, just there.
