(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.

Is the 25 laps correct or is it the usual 30 mins?

As much as i'm enjoying these..... Its Le mans week so will be watching that instead.

 

Sorry Matt I will be missing this one as well my foot is still painful.  Spoke to nurse, she said rest it and if not better next week see the doctor!

Caught out by a large update   :o if no one joins soon I will keep restarting the server with a shorter practice
until I can join. Or. I will let the pracxtice clock run free

Got the Hyperpole session on next to me, no one on TS and no one on the server...

I was on earlier, but then left, come back & still no one, oh well, maybe next week!!!!!

Geoff was on for a while, but he left before I joined. 2 or 3 people not enough for good racing
so I will delete this event. If only a couple of people join next GTO we will have to look at whether to keep it.

I am wondering if it's worth running any Thursday events any more with all the R3E servers that we can get onto now.

Its summer holiday season, things always quieten down a bit. 3 of us said before we wont be turning up.... don't over react.

I'm enjoying R3E atm, looking doing more ranked servers....

What extra servers? When i have looked there doesnt seem much activity on the open servers

I can't race or post on the forum as much as I'd like to at the moment, but will be back more regularly some time soon.

I hope to partake in Thursday night’s racing once I’ve got my foot sorted. The Mustang is my favourite car of this group of cars - it has good visibility and turns in OK!  ;)

I did join in the end, but there was just Eck & me & after qually we decided it wasn't really worth racing. Shame as I really enjoyed the Mustang around here.

So this actually is the Finale of the GTO championship, which will likely go to Geoff or Mark
Picnic has probably got 3rd unless he misses it, in which Riccardo or myself could get it

It is supposed to stay in Practice until someone joins, then the clock will start to count down.

EDIT: The server settings looked normal. I reset it anyway, and joined and did a few laps with no issue
except for my driving. Let me know if you still have trouble?

I think the Nissan will do well here, but it won't eclipse the others

here Geoff and Spanner are playing for the championship, I don't want to favor anyone, if I can stay ahead well but I don't fight between the two, I'm happy if Pete comes third he's a good driver.

Any tips for T3, i`m just loosing 1sec in this corner alone?

Or i lock the front brake`s, or i snap spin during braking. The only way to get around the corner is to not brake more than 40% ?

You in Mustang again? I have brake balance one click towards rear, low diff preload (around 20 I think), engine braking reduction on lowest setting and minimum rear wing. Try 3rd gear (not 2nd) if you are not doing so already.

Thx, indeed  ;D again in the Mustang. Currently driving in BB 55% and 53% in T3 and T4. Thx, for the low diff preload and less rear wing (could work). engine brake red is good during long sweepers and that's not the problem, currently the thight corners mix of 3th and 2nd gear (but it is during braking)

Again thx Frex, did now the fastest leaderbord timing for the Ford Mustang`s  :) (Massimo and Riccardo still 2sec faster in the Nissan and Audi).


Only thing i increased the eng. brake reduction with 2 clicks from the base setup. I have some weired schock`s when going back on the throttle, when eng. brake reduction is on his lowest.

Be aware. Only the mustang wil be exactly the same on line as off line
as it has no handicaps

The Nissan has weight added and a power reduction. The Audi also has some handicaps
but they are very small

Great race, Bravo Pete, now let's focus on the Legend

I got a great start & got alongside Frex & Pete who started ahead, not exactly sure what happened, but I think I nudged Pete & the car suddenly turned right. Sorry to anyone behind who got held up. Took most of the race to catch back up & it seems I was lucky enough to make it to 7th & just win the championship.

Just checked replay & indeed it was the slight nudge on Pete that caused my car to spin, a bit of an overreaction I think.

Ahhhhh, welll....... Just one more P1 next week to finish that series which Geoff can lose if he doesn't turn up  ;D
Then full on Legends series  :thumbup1:

Congratulations Geoff, Picnic and spanner! I had a bad first couple of laps, just couldn’t get the line right. Then I settled down but ran out of fuel about half way through the last lap.  ::) Thanks Matt for organising Thursday night’s racing.

Hope this wasn't because of something I did, I was trying very hard to leave room on the outside and to not block anybody aggressively. I did follow the racing line on the 2nd straight and I think this got JP boxed in as Frex was to my left. I think JP and I had contact there to :(

I really struggled in practice and at the start of qualifying but actually got a decent lap in towards the end to get 3rd on the grid. Still two whole seconds of the pole though. Jezz that Audi can be quick in alien hands! With all the mistakes I made in practice I never expected to be so consistent in the race, one very lairy moment late on probably gave Frex a bit of hope but I got to the end. I guess that's why practice is called practice ;)

Thanks all for turning up and sorry for my mid season rant about the Nissan. The fact all 3 marques occupied the top 3 places shows the balancing worked quite well :) Go Matt  ;D

No way your fault Pete, my fault for getting a good start. I had to go around Frex & then thought I had enough room to squeeze alongside you too, but just touched your left rear which caused my car to turn sharp right. As I said a huge overreaction for a such a slight touch.

Really enjoyed that one, with some good battling with John and Birger who was a constant presence just a few tenths behind, until losing it at the infamous T3 towards the end - good racing and bad luck!

Pete was also a target to chase throughout the race, but a bit too quick. Good fun though. Congrats Riccardo and podium, and Geoff for the championship.

Congrats to everyone, what a final from the championship. If there where spectators, this would be a thriller of a race.

First, not a great qualli from the first two drivers in the championship and third place at P4.

At the start a spin/crash from the championship leader, i thought championship battle is over. But in T3 also Spanner spinned, what made this race a battle for the win between the Italians, a battle for Pete to stay in P3 to make maybe a chance to go up in the standings. And Geoff and Spanner to try to make a comeback to maintain their positions in the championship.


For myself great race. In the start Geoff made a great start but spinned in front of me, and was blocked. So i regained almost at the back of the train (was maybe a positive point, otherwise i must have defended during the race, now it was possible to just follow).

For most of the race, sort of a battle between Frex and Chunky. We where close to each other but a real fight was difficult in these cars, only tried 2 times in the carroussel, but Frex closed the door at the end of the carroussel.

Was happy with the points of Frex that i had sort of a stable car and never had any problems in the race. Only in the last 5 laps i wanted to push a little more to attack Frex. But then indeed there was T3  ;D (luckily just avoided the wall) 

Didn't have enough fuel again ??? The front guys were doing too quick a laptime!

Hadnt realised Pete was that close behind Myself and Geoff for the championship.

Really struggled with the car at this track..  Fronts locking, any kind of heavy braking just made the car a nightmare, rear instability, understeer. in the faster corners..

I just felt everyone was braking so cautiously into T3 and found my markers were way to late in comparison to others...

Raceroom doesnt seem to handle fuel usage... its a standard amount each lap... so was never going to make it.


 

I don't trust fuel useage in any sim. I always overfill by 10 % or more
XD is good, but I don't even trust that much. It's just a guide for me in anything

I find XD in GTL to be very good, but I always add at least another laps worth to be pretty safe. Until recently I found the fuel usage in RRE to be pretty accurate too, but there again I always add some extra. On a couple of occasions recently though the fuel usage shown after completing a few laps in practice have been wildly different to that shown in pre-race testing.
