Season 39 – 1967 F1 WORKS Grand Prix – Round 2 – Assen
For Round 2 of the 67F1 Works championship we remain in the Netherlands and take a short trip north east to Assen in the province of Drenthe. Assen has a long history of motor racing. The first event, a motorcycle race, was held in 1925 on country roads through the villages of Rolde, Borger, Schoonloo and Grolloo.  Between 1926 and 1954, the Dutch TT (Tourist Trophy) motorcycle race, was held on the Van Drenthe circuit. This was a 10.27 miles street circuit through De Haar, Barteldsbocht, Oude Tol, Hooghalen, Laaghalen and Laaghalerveen. In 1955 a new purpose built track was inaugurated which was shorter than the original but at 6.049 miles it was still a long track by modern standards. Over the years the track has been through numerous modifications which have changed its length each time. The 1967 version we are using tonight is 4.8 miles long.  Although more famous for motorcycle racing, the track has been used for car racing (BOSS GP, Champ Car, DTM and several junior classes) but never for Formula 1..

  when I finished 5th, it was really a big surprise because I didn't have any expectations for Assen, I still believe that this version is much improved but still has a continuous pattern in the images which makes everything very equal and requires total concentration not to go wrong.
  That's why I expected many accidents in lap1, this is very bad, and that's what happened, luckily I was one of those who managed to survive.
  My initial plan was to race with Brabham, but for lack of knowing the track properly and being a little vulnerable after a night of too much "wine", I decided to go with BRM hoping for the worst.

   Congratulations to the podium, an all-race fight between Uli and Tristan!
 

   sorry buddy , I'll try to overtake you for the inside bt you are to close, and we have contact, so sorry brother, was myu fault and I accept that, marshals, next race I start in last place, its a form of punish me my supids mistakes.
