Hopefully I will make this one. I have the chance to cover the NI vs Wales match that night with another photographer. I'm waiting on confirmation of the passes on Monday.

If I'm on, I think I have a good chance of getting in the top 10.

1:26s by cutting turn 1 - haven't picked my car yet but a return to the 350Z is likely.

Race pace will be a lot slower because I intend not to cut T1 owing to the risk of hitting someone coming out of the pits and/or running too far left on the exit and getting a stop go after a few laps.

If there's popular support for it I suggest a gentlemens' agreement not to cut T1.

You can swap twice with no problems. But if you do it more than that, you'll get a 20% point deduction.

Anyone else? I noticed from a quick perusal of the Endurance Masters that they seemed to have adopted the same policy and were (as far as I saw, which wasn't far) all being pretty sensible about turn 1.

I'm very much in favour of doing things properly, so not cutting for me.

That said, there's probably no racing for me either  :'(.  After all the computer problems I've had I've narrowed the problem down to the PSU or the processor.  Got home lasts night, and although everything lit up/spun up etc. when I turned it all on ...... nothing else happened.  It wouldn't even POST.

Don't forget the new corner cutting rules for Hockenheim...

Between the final two turns, you must keep the full width of at least two wheels on or inside the white line on the left of the track. If you run wider, you must slow down and rejoin as if going off track - you must not use the extra width to get a better run out of the final corner.

Bear in mind that the occaisional indiscretion will most likely be overlooked, we'll only be upset if it's habitual.

I'm expecting my own qualifying time to be in the 1:28s, possibly a 27. By cutting outrageously at turn 1 I can get into the low 26s but I won't do that (unless Luke or Picnic outqualify me ).

Got to be quick as need to go out. I am shaking like a leaf! Good qual getting pole i have been a bit flaking in qually recently so was well pleased with that.

Made a slight mistake at turn 2 but was able to get on the power and keep the lead on the first lap. Was then able to control it some what although Luke forced me to keep pushing. Just tried to save the tyres as much as I could and not accidently cut anywhere as it is so easy here. Had a slight moment into the complex while lapping a back marker who kindly let me through through that little kink. Was in the wrong gear wrong place and missed the turn into the first of the last 2 right handers. Ran onto that drag strip and came back on ensuring I didn't get a run at the second corner. Not sure if I was supposed to stop so may need investigation. If all ok then well chuffed with my first win  ;D

Well,

What can I say, great race! My best finish by far, really pleased with 5th though I think perdy pitted with a few laps to go. Had a great scrap with Darren pretty much the whole way through. Great racing mate, I almost cracked a few times with the pressure!

Didn't make a great start then made a silly error to let edamspeed past and I was never going to get back.

Well done (whoever actually won :-\ ) and the podium finishers

Well done Paul on your 1st win. ;D

well that was so close in quali!!! Quali'd 3rd behind my two arch enemies!!  :tank: lol

was a great race at beginning, was behind Luke but couldn't pass, and with a small mistake the gap opened up and stayed at 3 secs later increasing to about 5secs.....Luke made a mistake but was back on track as quick as he came off! I then locked up in hair-pin, slid over the curb and got a s/g  :-[

Had some fun holding off Luke for about 2 more corners before he put a QUALITY move on me! Then I held off Edam for a couple of laps then did my s/g. Would have pitted earlier but wanted to have a bit of fun after a fairly boring race before hand!!! Came out 9th and finished there!!!!!!!!!! :whistling: annoying cos i was hoping to consolidate with 3rd, but my front left was past 30, giving me tyre wear warnings!!! Should have done meds all round!

Grats Paul R, very consistent and a perfect race i think!  ;D and surely champ lead! grats luke too! can't wait to see (and weep) and new championship standings!!

EDIT: just worked it out (cos i'm sad!) lol   ...current standings

1. Paul           213
2. perdy450    188 (-25)
3. Luke          152 (-61)

so unfortunately Luke can't win the champ but can get 2nd....I also have a few corner cuts pending from Monza so am expecting a penalty of some kind which may affect points too.....this is fun  :fencing:

That was an utter and complete nightmare. I really thought I'd tweaked enough of the understeer out of the 350Z to at least be competitve, if not a sprint front runner, but I was obviously wrong.

Start went well and I made up a couple of places (sorry about the tap, Martin) and set off after TinMan's M3, which was clearly about half a second a lap slower, but try as I might I just couldn't find a way past. I just couldn't get on the power early enough onto the short back straight and on all the other straights it was just too fast in a straight line to make better exit speed pay, so despite being miles better on the brakes, I could never get close enough to outbrake him. I did get one run though the twiddly bits at the back of the circuit but he ran wide and I got bumped wide too and that was the only real sniff I got.

Managed to run into Picnic too while he was trying to let me by. ::) Dunno why, he was miles faster! :-\

Finally looked like I might get another go at TinMan in the last couple of laps on low fuel but then the masters server wrote its replay and everyone disappeared for a few seconds and that opened up a small gap as I backed off a tad just in case.

Very frustrating and to cap it all I could've made softs go the distance but chose mediums and never really got them properly hot.

Back to the TVR for Endurance methinks.

Great race!

Got past Colin in the early stages, then was chasing down Buckie for a fair few laps. Got a run on him coming into the Südkurve, and thought I had a good enough overlap, but looking on the replay it was a bit iffy - Buckie turned in at his usual spot (guess he didn't see me there) and we made brief contact, which sent him slightly wide, but otherwise no damage - sorry for that, Buckie!

Next half of the race was a bit quiet, but towards the end, the Porches' tyres in front of me were going off, and I was able to catch up with Perdy and Luke. Luck had a moment which briefly demoted him to third, and I thought I'd get him, but he managed to sprint away. I was all over the back of Perdy for about a lap, but was surprised to see him announce his 'pit in', so was gifted that place really.

Was closing in on Luke at the end too - one scary moment when the Masters race reply saved, and Luke appeared RIGHT in front of my nose going into T2.. The game registered a hit, and so did my sphincter :D I needed just a few more laps and perhaps might have got him  ;D At the finish, we must have been no more than 1/2 a second apart.

Excellent race  :thumbup2:

Firstly, congrats to the podium especially Paul Richards and Ferrari :P for taking his first win!!!

Unlucky Buckie, yeah, the cars disappearing became a hairy moment.

I qualified 9th and after Perdy got his stop/go (unlucky) moved up to 8th! chased  Reign Man (very good drive!) for the whole race, was never more than 1.5 secs apart and just could see any opening to even try to overtake!!
But that moment when they disappeared..... was about .5 of a sec behind really thought there would have been a coming together, SOOOOOO lucky when they all came back that there wasn't.

Well it leaves the championship all down to the last race........ interesting!!

Guess I should be pleased, I had only seen a variation of this circuit in GTL until just after 7pm tonight. Tried a couple of setups, thanks Shark, and just tried to be consistent. Had one off when something fell off my hi-fi rack and scared the be-jesus out of me. Then had the usual scrappy laps trying to get it together again and almost pulled my G25 off the desk. The extra under table foot the Momo Racing had really makes a difference in my view but sadly gone on the wheel but present on the shifter  :-\

I had let Dave passed as I was all over the place but as I got my head back together Dave ran wide and I set off after Tinman. The TVR is good under brakes and I managed to get passed and claim back the 10th place I started at.

Well impressed by how consistent everyone has got, there are no cheap places on offer these days  :D

We won't run any more dual server races after the final round at Barcelona. If only there were an options to have the server not bother compressing the replay.

I then looked at grid and realised it showed me as 1st and whole field had DNF. ;D

It was definately just! As he had a backmarker, one of the Team Oldies M3's just ahead of him and myself and Darren were closing in fast. With another lap or two it may have been interesting!

TinMan's M3, which was clearly about half a second a lap slower, but try as I might I just couldn't find a way past. .

.

I spent all the race trying to figure out why you didn't breeze past me down the inside under braking(like you usually do). Picnic came along and did just that!!
It may have been a nightmare for you but I really enjoyed it - sorry.

Gutted to have missed this one, was really looking forward to it.  Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to do this weekends Enduro either :(.

That said, I've just ordered a new PC so hopefully I'll be good to go for Barca.

That's a shame Adam, the battle for 3rd in NGT enduro looks like going to the wire. The more in it the merrier  :D

I must admit after showing good consistancy at the sprint,  im aiming for a podium finish in the enduro, so i hope to throw a spanner in there somewhere!!  :P

Good race for me.

Quallied my best ever (yes I know there were a few regulars missing  ;) ) in 11th. Unfortunately messed up the 2nd & 3rd corners on the first lap, which let Tinman and DG through. Put some consistent laps together, tho a couple more little errors then let the "Blunder" thru. Carried on without threatening anyone in front, or being threatened from behind, finishing in 14th. Well pleased with my improved performance all round. My new wheel is definitely helping, steering is a lot more accurate, which is a help!!!!!

Cheers

Rob

I wanted to try the Gillet for a long time in a race..
And even it's somewhat underpowered and even if I'm a slow driver, I enjoyed the race very much.
I made 2 or 3 stupid mistakes, just because my GF was talking  ::)

I need to put my race gear in a closed room.  ;D

Thanks for everybody that flashed their lights to say thank you  (I hope  ;D ) when I let them pass  :D

I look forward to have more training and taking a competetive car  :)
Very good field, and it's the first time I see a race with more than 15 drivers with not a single DNF

Great race guys  8)

You were scarily fast through the corners, as is the Gillet's want, and on more than one occaision on qualifying I felt like I was holding you up after you let me by.

Good show and welcome to the league. ;D

Thanks.

I really did enjoy my evening.
Even at the last place.. and that's the proof that this place is a GOOD place.

Thanks to you.

Now I need to phone Tony Gillet, owner of the Vertigo (I actually known his girl Sophie) to put some more power in it  :D

Did you guys hear those raw sound the Alfa motor makes when you put a gear down ?? omg what a music  :D

Back home at last! Been on a very boring course at work!
Anyway, excellent fun race last night.
I hate the circuit and was not keen to practice and was supprised to be there about's ( for me! )
back in 16th ? I'm guessing!
Took it easy at the start to try and conserve the tyres!? I had mediums on but some practice made me worry they would last!
After a little rubbin !! with Dave , I settled down and lapped quite consistently, caught Rob and set off after Tinman and Dave.
They looked like they were having fun and I was very slowly catching them for about 15 laps, unfortunately the slightest
of slides round one corner let the gap increase agian and I didn't have another 10 laps to catch up again!?
Great fun trying to catch them little by little.
Amazing the concentration required on a short tight track!

Hopefully I stuck to the corner cutting rules!

Finished 13th ! True to form!

M.

Hard night for me,got better time in practise than in quallifying  ??? and got 2nd.
First few laps in race Perdy was right up behind me and the pressure was REALLY on me.Was able to fend him away for a while till he made a mistake and I was  able to pull away.
With 8 minutes left I lost it and went to cut the grass then Perdy got past.... :'( thought that was it... then I saw Perdy lock it up and and go to put the grass abit aswell  ???  :o
After following him for a few laps I saw a SMALL opening at the tight left hander and went for it...... :o ,after watching it on the replay about 20 times I still dont know how I got through...  :-X ,good job by Perdy not to go into me..  8)
Shame I cant contend for the championship  :'( ,if the bloody porka would of lasted 1 more lap at China I would of had +49 points more  >:(  :'(
p.s. Flawless race by Paul,couldnt get anywhere near you,well done m8  8)  :)

Great Race!

I was really disappointed not to get into the 1:26s I was hoping for this race to get a jump on the better performers in the race by getting a good quali time and doing my best to hold them up during the race, but alas it didn't happen. Over a second off of my on-line PB. Gutted.  >:(

Great race though! Had an opportunity to pass Darren early on at the double right hander but I broke to early and we both ended up tiptoeing around the corner so as not to hit each other. From that point on he steadily pulled away.

Munkez however, I was able to hold up  :P he was with me for the whole race (great race bud!), but I never made a major mistake, something I haven't been able to achieve since my first race in Valencia, but for some reason I wasn't able to get comfortable and settle down for the whole race and my lap times overall were slower than what I have been doing in praccy.

Colin and Darren dropped back a couple of times during their epic battle but I was never able to take advantage as they would quickly open up a gap.

I am really pleased with how I raced and am looking forward to the enduro

Great race all!
