Didn't you lot drive this last week ?

I also notice there was not a full field driving at Hock last time.  If there are spaces, can I observe this time ?

Thnx

NGT races last week ;) GT might be better supported as there is only one race not the Master/Acedemy split we have with NGT and Endurance

Only a few races had a full GT server if i remember correctly. Its just not that popular.

I don't think I'll be driving this race as well. I hope Simon stays around this time  ;)

If there are spaces I may join in in the Corvette as a precursor to my Season 5 campaign.

There were 23 for the last race, the 2 races before that the server was full. As usual we get to the end of the season and we always get a drop in numbers.

I hope there will be a space for me as a reserve. I'm likely to be taking the C5R.

I'm looking forward to it.

How does it work to be added as a full time driver?

I'm here more often than not, and would like to be full time to firstly guarantee me a spot. I would also get the extra 15mins practice each night to get a proper feel for it.

I understand you have committed to give others full time places, but is there anyone who has withdrawn or failed to use there full time driver status?

There's a reasonable variety. Lambos and F550s are the most common, but have a look at the last 2 race results (race 1 (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&event=252) and race 2 (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&event=250))and you can see it's not all the same cars. Drive whatever you're comfortable with and enjoy the most.

There is generally a good spread of cars here at least.  8)

Can someone post some average GT laptimes for here? (to give me something to aim for and fail miserably  ;) )

Masters endurance event results (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&event=260) should give you a good idea.

Is it gonna rain for this race?

You really need to spice things up a bit for once, not just another procession.

..and FFS flamers stay away or send me a PM with your "issues"

EDIT: Just saw weather = dry, np  :'(

Man that Vette is nice. Greeeeaaaaat sounds. Good thing I was wearing diapers  ;).

Just before the end of qually, FreQ nicked 2nd place off me. Well done  ;D.

At the beginning of the race FreQ was faster than me. I think he was running on soft/meds and I was on med/med. Especially med fronts take a lap or two to get up to grip.

After about 8 laps, I had a better run out of the first hairpin, and I used the higher topspeed of the Vette to get on the inside. Must look good in replay going side by side through the double right hander.
After that I could keep the gap steady or increase it slightly.
Jon was faster than me and the gap soon became 4s. I could keep the gap at that, but I never had the feeling I could gain something. He was too fast.

Grats Jon  :thumbup1:

Well I couldn't of asked for a better race or qually, both 1st's but all I can say about that race is OMG :o How fast is Ruskus in a Vette!?! He was crazy fast. Great drive mate 8) First class stuff 8) The race was just a case of not making any mistakes and keeping a 4 sec lead that built up in the first few laps. I could feel the pressure of Ruskus behind but lucky I only had a couple of loose laps the whole race. I was glad when it finished. Thanks as always to the guys getting lapped. Nice racing all :)

Urgh. My setup for the S'leen works well during qualy, and at some times during the race, but at the start when it's full of fuel it's a bit of a handful. My apologies to Purdie I think who I spun in front of at the hairpin, I just ran out of talent!

Slipped back to about 13 place, got past Jan, Dave G and Purdie (who spun out) and was back up to 10th. I think that's the limit of my skills right there :) Respect to those up front!

Great little race Dave, thought I'd got the better of you, and then you found something under the seat and started closing the gap! I had to drive on the ragged edge of the tyres to stay in front of you - nicely done :thumbup1:

LOL i finished my first race!!  :)
had alot of fun this evening, the banter aswel as the racing!

i had put a 20.1 in practice but i guess i had Spu**ed to early as i could only get a 20.5 in qually 2 which put me in 6th!

started race with alot of pressure from behind from the off!
first 2-3 laps i was defending a little while trying to warm my tyres up nicely!
after that i started to creep back up to 5th place guy luevren (sry spellin) where i just sat half a sec or so behind for 25 mins so he could concentrate in keeping up with guys in front and pick up any pieces if things went wrong which worked out well!

I saw my teamm8 and freq have a good battle which was surely wearing there tyres out for 3rd and was hoping that by saving mine could get a good blast last ten minutes!

well it wasnt to be, I just could not get past big L, even tho i was faster big L had his setup be faster in the right spots and i could not find a way past! but it was close and i put as much pressure as i could but he did not crack! Great drive!  good race!  and my first finish! :) :) :)

another race for me to forget.  :(

Started badly by spinning on the very first corner of the first flying lap  :-[, i saw Jan's back end swing out and thought he was spinning so turned in too tight on the apex and the kerbs made my cold tyres lose grip putting me into a spin without contact. I was 8 seconds down before the first lap was over :'(
Played catch up with the pack for next 5 mins until getting past Martin, then set about chasing Jan (as usual !). When i finally caught him half way through the race, we proceeded to having another cracking battle for lap after lap in two very slippery Saleens :fencing:
I put him under tons of pressure but he mostly kept his nerve and all my attempts to get past were in vain. Eventually i got a rear left onto one of those highly polished ::) kerbs and did a full 360 onto the grass where i lost about 12-15 seconds. :(
I basically then thought it was race over and poodled around until the end letting the front runners past as easily as i could, until i noticed Jan not too far ahead and apparently struggling to keep it on track. So i closed for the kill  :ninja: and  got a couple of good runs out of the turns to stay right behind, stepping out down near the chicane and popping up the inside for the position on the last lap    Nice clean racing again Jan, thoroughly enjoyed it  8)
My left front tyre was seriously gone by race end :-X

Congrats to Jon M and the podium guys.  :thumbup1:

1st) Shame about the low turn up

2nd) You really don't have to get out of the way  when you are on a timed lap Edamspeed, even if I'm faster. Overtaking costs time anyway, so the lap will be lost. No use losing your own lap then. It's my resposibility to get a free qually lap.  :). Very fair of you to do so, but nu necessary in the future  :)

3rd) Thanks Jon. The C5R isn't a bad car, and with some weight taken off, it's quite competitive.

Replay here (http://ukgtr.simracing.org.uk/) and results here (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&event=254).

Not bad for my first championship race in a GT car. Qualified in the 21s - previous PB was a 22 - and avoided getting stuck on the back two rows of the (somewhat depleted) grid. Race went well with Perdy slowly eeking out a modest gap ahead until starting a spinfest, and Jan behind starting to threaten until his own early problems.

Picked up a place from Edam and might've been able to challenge for 10th but almost lost it going into the Mercedes Arena section and let him past. Managed to keep the gap down to 1-2 seconds for most of the remainder but we were both struggling with front left tyre wear so had to settle for 11th.

Didn't get lapped, come last or stick it in the wall. Result.

That went quite well! Managed to steal 2nd in qualy off Ruskus (;D) by something silly, like half a tenth. Everyone was soo closely matched in qualy, real tight field.
First few corners were a bit messy for me and I let John escape a little...from there it was a battle to keep second as it became apparent I wasn't quite fast enough to stay with Jon. Managed to open a small gap to Ruskus over a couple of laps but then he found his feet and put the pressure on, and got me into the double hairpin. We ran close for a few laps until Baracus started closing in at an alarming rate. I'm glad you got the fastest lap, saved the embarrassment on my part ;)
For a while, with the speed you closed in I thought you'd breeze past and go after Ruskus, then it all settled down and the gaps opened up again....and then it was then end :)
Grats peeps on gd driving - also need to mention Martin for a perfect display of how to let people through - cane it and stick to your line through the twisty stuff where there's no room to let people past, and move over on the straights - didn't lose any time and you lost very little.  ;D

Congrats to Ruskus. You fast bastard!

nb: I was on med-med too  8) Shame I was slower after the first couple of laps :P
GR peeps

Some very fast times throughout the (relatively small) field tonight 8), and was expecting another battle with Truetom putting in similar times in the Maseratti 8)but I managed to find a few tenths and still only managed 5th.  :o

From the start Baracus was just way too fast down the straights to overtake, and when he made a little mistake and I got by him, it wasn't long before he was cruising past me with his arm out of the window, shades on, cigar in his mouth and giving me a little wave.

After realising on the pace lap my radiator was still on its qually setting, and knowing the reliability of the Lamborghini's V12, I short shifted when possible to hopefully prolong it's life. :-\
Not easy when you have enzo in another Murcielago around 5 or 6 tenths of a second behind for pretty much the whole of the race.
I got a couple of breathers when he made small mistakes but otherwise he drove very well to keep the pressure on, especially for that long. :thumbup1:

With over two laps to go I got the dreaded "tyres worn" message but somehow managed to hang on.  ;D

Great 1-2 for Team Shark with Jon and Ruskus.
Good performance by Dave too, in unfamiliar territory.
You can have your praise next week for the Drivers Championship title Jeffrey. :P

Made some laps off-line prior to race in a lovely MC12 Legends livery and I made a pb in time-trial 1.20.2xx.  :o  On-line I was again slower, 1.20.8xx was the fastest I could get to be 9th in quali.  :(  Similar in race, just couldn't manage any faster. That lead to a nice duel with Paul Richards. Was a bit faster but couldn't get a run on him for some laps until he made a bad exit and I managed to slip by - thanks for leaving enough room there Paul, very fair. Tyres were begining to feel warn at about 10 minutes to go, had to be real careful. Botched it once but luckily for me Paul wasn't close enough to use it so I came 8th in the end.  :)

I like MC12, might try to drive some GT races for a change in S5.

Change? Since the begining of my time in UKGTR I was driving NGTs and GTs just for fun.  ;D  Maybe I'll reverse it now. If nothing else there will be something to laugh to.  ;D

TT

Nice of you to say, Jeff, but after I screwed up a few corners I realised I was just going to get in the way and bailed. Slow lap for both of us. Besides, my pedals were slowly slipping away from my feet, so it was only a matter of time before I did something outrageously stupid, so I parked it and sorted my pedals. :)

Valentines stuff  meant I couldn't attend, but I should be there at Barcelona in the Vette. I think with a spirited driver in the final round Team Shark Junior has a chance to take 5th off those pesky Kerb Crawlers. :-*

Does that mean you'll be hitting the whiskey beforehand?  ;D

Sounds like a challenge to me! GT isn't really our thing, but since it's the last race perhaps we can be persuaded to come and spoil your party  :fencing:

Hey folks,

Well that didnt go to plan. Unfortunately I had a slight emergency at home so had to escape out after 3 laps. In anger I just floored it out of T2.

I felt I was going to have a good little race but it just wasn't to be.

Just have to look forward to Barca and maybe impress and get into a team for Season 5 ::)

Well done to all, Jon Moore on his win, Jeffery Ruskus on the championship and Team Shark for the team win.

Regards
Colin

Sorry if I seemed rude by escaping(did it at the right time, this time) and leaving right after the race last night, I was nightshift at work at had to run.

Well done to all especially Jon the winner.

I finished fourth in the endurance masters and managed to cure my understeer in my race set up and was feeling confident of good race. Did not expect to start 7th or finish 7th but that race last night was soooooooooo fast.

Had a good attempt at Enzo for first part of the race but could not pass. Had one real effort attempting to go around the outside at turn 2, I left enough space for him and thought I had managed to pass only for Enzo to manage better drive out the corner and hold the position.

Chased hard but he managed to ease away.

Thought I drove well and hardly put a wheel wrong yet still could not match the pace of you guys. Just highlights how fast some people are.

Roll on Barcelona, better go practice.
