(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.

Great to see a Group 4 race here, but any chance we could add in the Porsche 934 as well pretty please? I did some quick testing last night and the two cars are very well matched here, less than a tenth difference in laptime for me, although the BMW M1 is more stable and consistent. There's a lot more going on with the Porsche and it will be tricky to get it to the finish without incident, but it is a bit of a favourite of mine. Thoughts?

So. Yes I have been thinking along similar lines. Not just this event, but like the next one which is a GTR1 car
Riccardo's choice is good, the Saleen works well at Monza, but I tried the Ford, and it is similar times and
would be an option for people who like choice. I need to do some more testing, I am slowly working through
the events to see if any can be a group rather than a spec race

I see no reason to not make it a Group 4 event.
Only you seem to like the wayward pork, if you can win with it you deserve a pay rise  ;D

If people always want the same cars I would agree with you Riccardo.

I have had a lot more complaints over the years from people wanting a choice
than people wanting a spec race. So I think it is good to use a class where it makes sense
Though I am happy to leave some most  events exactly as you suggest.

I thought the point of this was to do single cars at each event.

Not entirely, Riccardo already has two non single-make races in his list (Touring Classics and DTM92) and Matt also mentioned that the list was initially provisional and asked for feedback. I am actually very happy with single-make races but the first event caught my eye as I (selflishly!) saw it as an opportunity to sneak the Porsche 934 into the mix. If this is not acceptable to the majority I am happy to revert back to M1 only and will take up my single-handed 934 campaign another time..  :)

It would be funny if Frex won with Pork, which I can't drive in a straight line

Judging by his leaderboard time, that is quite likely,  I can't get near it yet.

Indeed, for me the Pork is also undrivable. But Frex is 4/5sec faster at the leaderbords than the M1's  :o :o :o

Sorry Frex, a fighting chance is ok, but if the car is that much faster with the right driver it won't fit
So this will be an M1 only event.  :(

Your decision Matt, but I did say 'yet', I am about 1s away from Frex with the M1 & hopefully a few more setup adjustments could reduce that.

I understand the concern, but as I said I did do some testing before suggesting the Porsche be included and I have very similar times with the 2 cars. In fact with the M1 being an easier drive and better able to retain heat in the tyres, I am pretty sure I will be faster over a race distance in the M1. You can see my time on the leaderboard in the M1 also.

However, I don't want to step on any toes, or go against Riccardo's original intention to keep this a single-make event, so I'm happy to go with the M1; I enjoy driving both cars in any case.

I am just going off the feedback. Riccardo didn't like it, Geoff thinks it's too fast, Spanner doesn't like it
Tony has spent money. I think you are right, the M1 is certainly easier, so safe option is I owe Tony some money
and everyone else will be happy if we make it a spec race.

No it’s M1 group 4 (the difference between car group and state of the cars tuning) at least to my simple mind.

I think Bill is saying he has been practicing with the M1 Procar.

I thought that is what he said. But the race announcement has never said Procar, it has always said M1 Gr4 or just Gr4

Excellent race  :thumbup1: I struggled all the event to get a grip on the brakes. Liked the car apart from that.
Had some fun trying to keep up with Pete, went off near the end and he passed, and pulled away.

I think should maybe go and become a hermit. This modern life is just too much for me it seems   ::)
I blame work, it has been challenging these last few months, exams to pass new stuff to learn
my head is mashed. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.  ;D

I can recommend being retired!  ;D

Difficult in the braking zone and many mistakes at the Rivazza and too much understeer

Enjoyed that, some close racing with John and Geoff, but I did the same to John towards the end as I did to Pete last week - rear-ended him into the chicane, spun in trying to avoid and lost the chance to fight for the place. Sorry John, glad (again) you could carry on unscathed. Congrats podium.

Frex no worries dude I feel you came off worse than me, yes really enjoyed the close racing. I managed to get a good start and get in front of Geoff so basically had him on my tail for a few laps then he disappeared to be replaced by Frex both judging by there lap times they were faster than me but just couldn't get the run on me to get past as we were all in the same cars! well pleased with 3rd and really enjoy this cars shame we are not using them anymore in this series lol. Note to self must nobble the Italians as they are far to quick  ;D

Enjoyed the BMWs although I am not a big fan of Imola. Had a few laps looking for a way past John at the start of the race before making a mistake at Piratella which let Frex past. Chased the two of them for a few more laps before a couple more mistakes dropped me well behind. Got a place back when Frex ran wide at Rivazza only to donate it back to him with another error at Piratella. A couple more errors near the end nearly resulted in Birger catching me but just had enough in hand to hang on to 5th. Good race but far too many mistakes.  ::)

I eventually found my way onto the server last night after realising that I had to tick the "Private" filter button.

I had done quite a bit of practice for this and was pleased with my time set on the leaderboard. So stunned to see the times being posted in qualy. Almost gave up there and then. I was soon left far behind everyone but I was determined to finish so just kept plodding away. I don't find RRE very immersive, I don't know why. It looks and sounds wonderful so I guess it's just me (old fart).

I have a dislike of cars with LCD display's but I'll keep going with this series and see if I can attract another point to match the one I already have. Pleased for Matt that he had a good turnout.

PS After watching the replay it looks like I could have attacked the chicane a bit harder, maybe I was losing time there?

Having probably driven Imola more in ACC recently it was really hard to readjust to this car which required more braking distance, concentration to stop locking it up and oh the understeer on default setup. Took a while but managed to make it easier to drive.

Some good battles in the race even if it was still a struggle to drive the car, almost took Riccardo out into the first corner; the desire ot brake later just means your locking up!

Tony: LCD displays? It had a analogue rev counter?

I meant future cars in upcoming races e.g. Saleem etc

Good start after some laps Frex was faster and overtook me. In the first 10min i was in a batle with Baldoni until he made a small mistake. Then i was somewhere in no man`s land between the fast guys and the mid pack. When spanner and riccardo didn`t fight they where closing on me untill at 1.5sec, but luckily they fighted again for position. Last two laps i was surprised to Geoff again  ;D

Hopefully the grids remain above 10+ drivers,
