In light of the dwindling field size, if the Masters are amenable to it I'd like to invite Academy drivers to participate in G2 and G3 cars only, on condition that they drive well within themselves and avoid interfering with battles between the Masters.

Speak up now if you object!

Dave, this is great news mate.

I look forward to it. As long as people who have seen me drive don't object to me taking part :-\

Academy guys in G2s..  Is that such a good idea?  I know first hand how fast some of the NGT boys are in the Masters..

An average Academy guy in a G2 is going to be racing at the same pace as the NGTs in the masters..  Not ideal, especially when it's the last race of the season and championship places are up for grabs.

Why not restrict academy guys to G3s only.. Maybe even turn it into a porsche cup/elise series race to add some spice...  At least this way we won't get into any trouble at the back of the grid.  :P

Spot on Darren, 8) like the idea that academy is allowed but only in porschecup/elise cars, makes more sense with the last round remaining.

I'm not averse to that but I'd like to hear some more opinions, both from the Masters and the Academy drivers who would like to compete.

I think limiting the Academy guys to G3 makes sense for exactly Darren's reasons

GT2 Porker is not the easiest thing to keep in a straight line.  :P

It's easy to keep it in a straight line.

Making it go round the corners is the tricky bit!

That's actually classed in NGT - I'm a little surprised nobody has used it yet because IMHO it's almost as fast as the M3 but lighter.

Anybody got lap times in G3 cars?

The G3 Porkers are nice to drive...  :thumbup2:

Managed to do consistently low 1:49s with a PB of 1:48.9, using my RSR setup.  ;D

Looking forward to racing against you again Colin.  It should be cracker... :thumbup1:

Any chance of doing a G3 Porker fun race???

So what's the decision?  Are the Academy guys invited?  If so, we are going to need access to the password   :thumbup1:

Plus, is there any chance of changing the Server to DRY conditions?

Don't worry Colin, I have just noticed my times were with no ballast..  :-[

I welcome Academy drivers to the race. Word of caution, please: this race decides the championship title in NGT, the three leading drivers are only a few points apart and anything is possible. I urge all drivers - GTs and NGTS - to be extra carefull when comming into any close battles from the front or from the rear. We would all like this race to have in a pleasant memory, right?  :)

The GT is also very close, only 1 point in it.

Good luck to all on Sunday for a good fight.

Gd luck to all concerned with this one. I'll leave it to you masters to decide both championships and I don't want to risk messing anything up in a spritely G3 car. The speed difference round barca compared to the GT's will probably be pretty big.

Will be nice to actually watch Top Gear when it airs for once too!   ;)

I'm sure you will be able to compete using a GT car surely Freq? You have proven yourself more than capable.

Fair we don't want to directly(in a bad way) influence who wins, but we should turn up and give them a race to make sure they earn the win.

Us Academy peeps can only enter in G2 or G3 cars Kerr...and the majority of peeps here don't want G2 cars because it might interfere with the NGT championship. If it's G3 only, I'd be a little worried about the speed differential between the G3's and the GT's as Barcelona is quite a fast track.
And even if we were able to enter as GT's or NGT's I really don't fancy entering the last round when 2 championships are going to be decided, I can understand why a few peeps were worried about it.

Plus I really do want to watch Top Gear, lol

what an absolute wreaker of a race for me!

i apologise if i knocked any slower cars off the track, I never felt a thing if i did but lol u guys were in the way!
was loosing a second a lap from the off, get to half way pit stop and i have 35 litres of juice left... i take out 20 litres of juice from my fill up and with 17 mins of race left i have 15 litres of juice!!!

i think the slower cars should stay on the racing line as much as possable when being lapped!  when u guys move off line ur unpredictable... i spun more then once being supprised where you guys were going! my fault i spun aswel but it didnt help!

but most of all it was the heat that mucked me up! my setup was useless in that weather! I had taken too much out the revs to try save then engine when i should of left it up top!

anyway hope u all had a good race!
and thanks for all for trying to make it as clean as poss!

Had an awful race, felt like my worst of the season  :'(

Got exactly what i deserved from this race - nothing. Had been away for 3 days in possibly the quietest and oldest town in Britain and got back 5 mins before the start of practise 1. Just couldnt get into the race at all and with no pre-sorted setup was a complete gimp on the track :(  The hot track temps destroyed what little faith i had left in my setups, i was cooking a set of softs after 1 flying lap in qually. :o
I felt embarassed to be driving in the Legends colours tonight  :-[

Congrats to the race winners and season champs.  8)

Going off to sulk...

Well done to Team Shark on the NGT Championship, we put up a pretty decent fight tonight but you deserved it :thumbup1:

That was the best NGT race of the season for me, I had really good fights with Bernie during the first half of the race and Shark for the entire second half. I was up into 4th as I came in to pit but lost 3 spots when I came out onto the track again, it just shows how small the margins are in this game.

Thanks to the G3's, you were perfect 8)

Well done everyone who took part this season , great racing

Well done all especially race class and championship winners.

Had a good race myself. I though I was not getting to race tonight. Everytime i attempted to join and put the password in, I was then directed to another race at Monza!!!!

Made a few nice overtaking maneuvers in early laps and made it up to 4th after enzo ran wide coming out of last corner.

Ran with 100l of fuel and was able to take the lead, albeit temporarily as had far more fuel. Baffled why I was about 15 secs ahead of enzo, made a great pit stop I though and came out 13 secs behind him????

Managed to catch and pass Enzo and he was chasing hard after that. Think he crashed to end his race????

Again I'm baffled how fast some guys are. I thought I drove very clean and fast, made no mistakes of any note yet I can't keep up. Getting quicker by the race though apart from terrible qualifying tonight.

Bad luck to Jon, my fortune to inherit 3rd place with only a couple of laps to go.

Looking forward to the fun races and next season. Hopefully I will get a full time slot and not a reserve?

Solid race for me. Didn't spin or make any mistakes but car was pretty slow on Med-Hard. Apologies to shark when lapping about half way through. I managed to split up your battle with Navern it wasn't the best place to do it and wasn't particular decisive so I held you up badly. Apart from that not much else to talk about. Had a battle with James early on but he had a spin I think and dropped back.  Congrats to podium and of course the championship winners.

Great first half to the race battling with pops. He seemed to have the pace early on then it switched to me and back to him etc. Second half of the race was a bit lonely until Nevarn but me under so severe pressure over the last couple of laps. Apologies to him for spinning in front of him and leaving him no where to go.

Had a nice enough race but had to pit 1 lap from the end and so go from 3rd to 4th. It was enjoyable though ;D
Grats to CJ on his Enduro Drivers Championship. Great driving as always. Great consistency with amazing pace. Unstoppable. Nice 2nd in the champ for Ruskus to 8) Grats to Leuven on his NGT enduro Drivers Championship and nice driving to TT on his 2nd place. And grats to the Sharks for both Team champs. Unlucky Legends Racing it sure was a close one in the NGT :)
Thanks for the season SROU it's  been a blast for me. Bring on Season 5 ;D I must say that I far preferred the racing in GTR2 than GTR. Some of the close racing in the season was great and I can't really remember that in GTR so much :) Nice racing all 8)

Grats CJ and Leuven for champ win.

Because of the hot temps (thanks for that  ;)) I had to tune down the Lambo and it showed. CJ was much faster. But what shocked me the most, was the amount of time he won around the stops. He was a bit over 10s infront when the stops began, and after we both did the stop, I was 40s behind  :-\.

The G3 class was great to have around, really adds something, and it's good to have full servers again.

No warp PRibeiro when I lapped you, but you were wobbling the first time  ;D

That was hard work, the Viper had the grunt over the GT3 porka which worked to my advantage. I forgot to take my jumper off before the start and thus got a bit hot  :-[

I got class pole right at the end of qualifying and lead the class until the GTs started lapping us where I lost momentum and Darren got passed. I could stay with him and that extra grunt allowed me to get the class lead back. The gap snuck up to about 4 secs when Darren pitted almost exactly half way through the race. My FL tyre was badly warn (29.3 when I stopped) but I soldiered on hoping the short refuel time would work to my advantage. It did :) I got out with a 12 sec lead which oscilated back and forth as we let lappers by.

It's about time but I now have a win against my racing history  ;D

What a thrilling race. With the teams neck and neck and the drivers so close everyone was trying so hard.

I was really struggling in qualifying to put anything decent together, then with 4 minutes left I went out with some large changes to the setup and it worked. Managed to take about 0.7 off my previous best in the session, although not moving me past the enemy it gave me a boost for the race.

Race started great, I passed Pops when he left the door wide open into the hairpin and then eeked a little tiny weeny gap out whilst Leuven and TT faught it out amongst the faster NGT drivers and Paul stomped off into the distance. Then disaster of disasters.  :o :o My screen just went black. I thought the race was over, but realised all my frantic wheel sawing had knocked the power cable out the back of the monitor (it's a dodgy power socket on the monitor). I could hear my car crash in the background and I realised it was just the monitor power. I jumped up, ripped the back of the monitor off and shoved the lead back in. Sat back down and got my barings. Worked out where I was, but had lost a lot of time and damaged the car. >:( >:(

I got out of the sand trap just behind Priberio and we had a raging battle for 7 or so laps :thumbup1:. (Connection looks good now btw ). Eventually when I got by I realised my laps times were dire and I had to come in at half way. This was a change to my strategy so I had to think fast and get ready to have the fastest pit stop I could. I came in and my mechanics did a great job fixing the damage quickly whilst I stopped on the money to get my tyres changed very quickly. I had no idea how much time I'd lost in the accident, but it was plenty enough and to my absolute shock and joy I had managed to leapfrog Pops in the pits. I can only guess you had an incident Pops for me to make up that much time as I had to get damage repaired?  ???

After my pit stop my car was flying again managing to dip into the 1:44s briefly, which was 2 or 3 seconds faster than I was before the pit stop. This gave me a nice little gap to Pops. Meanwhile in the team battle I was trying to locate TT over the team comms to find out where he was in relation to Leuven. Nev not long after came out of the pits just in front of me and I briefly toyed with the idea but he clearly had the pace on me and by that time I heard where TT was and if we just stayed in the same position the team championship would be ours.

By the end, I was really starting to struggle with tyres again, but I managed to cross the line just ahead of Pops and then I watched Leuven come home in a team parade past the chequered flag with Jeff and the victory was ours!

That was a really tense race and well done to everyone, especially the Legends and my team mates for a job very well done. Grats Paul on the race win, well deserved.

A big congratulations to Leuven on the NGT drivers title and thanks for doing a great job to lead the Team Shark comeback to take the NGT team title. Also well done to TT for his great 2nd in the drivers on a close run thing. Commiserations to Jeff on the GT drivers title, so close, just to be pipped at the death by CJ (congratulations CJ!), but you and Jon did a great job to take the team title, well done both.

Thanks for an exciting season and a really great championship this season.

P.S. Best of luck to Gizmo and Picnic in the Academy next week, hope you can bring back a load of trophies for the now Team Shark cabinet.

Dave, sorry that I got a little too close for comfort at T1 early on.

No probs - I was probably still laughing from when you got tucked up behind me into the final turn, pulled right up in the draft, pulled out... and went backwards!

I don't think it was you weaving in front of me on the front straight trying to stop me getting a tow (which a Viper most definitely does not need against a GT3 Cup) - seemed a bit cwazy! Can't remember who now.

Jure - sorry about the confusion whilst you were lapping me. I guess I came off a lot worse, I thought you were making a clear move to the inside and braked early and then realised you weren't as I sailed off through the gravel. :-X

Thanks to the G3's, you were perfect 8)

I was in two minds as to what to do to let you and Shark by at the end and decided in the end it was safer to run across the gravel. Sadly the magents failed to drag you in with me. :ninja:

Bit of a mixed race for me. I figured I needed the practice seeing as how I'm going to miss the NGT Sprint on Tuesday night, and pitched up with absolutely no seat time in the Viper CC since the wet fun race at Laguna Seca last year. Track temperatures were shocking but luckily they eased off for the race, but starting from last place I discovered to my horror that the mechanics had totally ignored my instructions and put hard tyres on the front as well as the back.

As a result I had monstrous understeer in the long right handers so I pitted as early as I thought I could get away with and still finish without a splash and dash and came back out with the right tyres and an improvement in lap times which allowed me to leap frog Darren in his stop. Unfortunately my little accident with Jure lost that place again and having stopped early, the tyres started to go off with 35 minutes to go, and I could never make any real impression on him after that.

The last 15 minutes were very hard work with the rear left worn badly and the rear brakes snatching in all the heavy braking zones despite winding the balance fore. Was quite relieved to finish without pitching it off into the barriers!

Yeah I thought I was gonna get you on the straight only to get laughed at by the back end of your viper!

Think it was Beholder you had trying to shake you off not me. We had the same car

I'm gutted I only lasted 13 laps....

Grats CeeJay...no one was anywhere near you this season!  ..and that with two DNF's for the Enduro season vs none from your nearest competitor :o Amazing!

Definitely the Claus ( :whistling:  ;D ) of the field. Brilliant!

That was a fun race! Missed the last few events due to real life plus the distractions of Rfactor. Decided at the last minute to join this one, and just got into the server before the end of final qual.

Early laps were great with a three way dice between Pribeiro, Mark Jonzo and myself for about 17th place. We all swapped places a few times and traded a little paint until Mark and Pribeiro had a little contact and went off at turn 5. That left me running on my own with a lot of fuel in the car, so I just stayed out and gradually picked up positions as others pitted.

Finally got up to 9th place with about 25 minutes to go when I got the 'tires worn' message, so I pitted on the next lap for new rubber. The race immediately got exciting again as I exited the pits in 13th with Sharky right up my chuff in the M3. It was touch and go staying ahead of him for the next lap or two on cold tyres, but once they warmed (and a GT car cost Simon a bit of time) I managed to pull a slight gap and was doing my best laps of the race in the high 44s.

I then started to set my sights on bernie who was about 8 seconds up the road. Finally clawed the gap down to 2 seconds with a few minutes to go, and just managed to stay in front of Claus on his final tour in order to get an extra lap to attack Bernie, as I was right behind him starting our final lap. Really needed a good exit off the right hander onto the back straight to get a tow and out drag Bernie down the hill, but I caught the kerb and the car skipped onto the grass. That was it then, or so I thought. I guess Bernie must have cooked his tyres because he spun two corners before the flag, only the recover just as I was approaching and contact was inevitable. Order stayed the same then and a well deserved 4th in class for Bernie considering he was driving the Pasta Bolognese special.

Finally, my congratulations to CJ on a dominant comeback in the latter two thirds of the season to snatch the GT championship. Congrats also to Ruskus for keeping CJ honest and really making him work for it. I don't think the Lambo is quite so competitive in the endurance events so Ruskus did a great job.
Congrats also to Leuven for edging out Truetom in the NGTs, despite two poor rounds at the start of the season.

I am really looking forward to every race now with you guys, just about everyone here is very clean and fast which makes the racing really enjoyable!  ;D

One of those races where everything goes nicely to plan. Had pole in front of Leuven with a decent gap back to the M3s, so I expected the main challenge to come from Leuven's RSR, but he tripped up early on. This left an M3 behind me doing a similar pace but making the odd slip, which meant the gap grew steadily. I wasn't too worried at this stage as we were lapping not much slower than the M3 qual times and I doubted that this was possible with the fuel load I had (to the brim). I left my pit as late as possible in case there was a sudden weather change, and when the gap behind suddenly grew to 53 secs I stopped for a splash of fuel and new tyres. When I came out I had a bit of a surprise with an NGT in front of me, but this was a late stopping Nev who pitted shortly after. I then had a nice gap to play with, so the rest of the race was in car conservation mode, shortshifting and saving the tyres. It would seem that Leuven used the same pit strategy although it looks like he took no fuel, allowing him to leapfrog TT. I certainly had plenty in reserve but I didn't think I could quite make it on one tank.

Thx to everyone lapping and being lapped. I had one nasty moment when Ruskus and Jon lapped me just as I was being flashed through by a Cup car. Luckily I noticed in time and jumped out of the way, but it could have been messy  :o

Congrats to CJ for the win and championship, who is simply untouchable in this format. Also to Leuven with a strong 2nd half to the season. Now I've got used to endurance I'm really enjoying the extra thought that's needed, and I'm certainly looking forward to the next endurance season. Hopefully I can put in a full season and challenge for the championship.

Well, that was a great race, full of... surprises  ;D

After eventful quali session without getting in a single clean lap (and on tyres that lasted for one flying lap anyway  ::) ) race started with typical Jure attitude: "finish the race and do not race them on cold tyres, this is your learning season".

Due to high track temperature I've decided to start the race on medium fronts, hard rears and dear lord they felt like driving on ice, could barely go below 1.40 if at all. Big mistake, defensive driving cost me a spin in first few laps and off they went - rest of GTs. (BTW, would be interesting to know what tyre rest of you guys were using).

Once wheelcart class drivers came into play nightmare started. PLEASE stay on your racing line, please please please.  ;D Was driving dead last in GT class, so I've figured hey, take your time and pass them while on power, not on braking. Or so I thought. Turns out NGTs were, once again, trying to be way 2 gentlemanly and voila - 5-6 spins frustrated the **** out of me, argh.   ;D Not to mention a certain M3 driver that pulled in front of me while braking, put me in a maaaajor power slide and then passed me again. U cost us both chunks of time, m8 (not that I know who it was  ;D )

Mid race (started on 100 L of fuel and with shortshifting in low gears due to hard&cold tyres it went on and on and on and on, think I've pitted on L29-30) my race engineer and myself came to a conclusion no tyre change is needed, which should put me out of the pits in front of 2 guys racing some 15-20 secs ahead. Or so I thought. Stupid ignition button didn't work. Again. Therefore all the time gained due to no tyre change was lost since no fuel was going in. No comment, this is happening way too often for comfort. Plus I took on 24 liters of fuel more then needed to finish the race. Argh.

Caught up one of those US built car-wannabees (viper or something, guess it was you Gizmo  ;D), took my time (was aware of NGT championship battle although I didn't know who's who, so was extra careful not to get in the way of NGTs, hence was prepaired to lose time in order to make clean passes) but nooooo, Gizmo had same gentleman attitude. Big mistake. Whammo into the back of the plastic V10 truck engine vehicle. Was pondering on giving myself a stop&go penalty because whatever you did - my fault, you were in front, so no worries, m8, I guess we're both to blame (my plan was to pass you out of the last turn).

Etc etc etc.  ;D

Anyway, just finishing itself is not bad for a race driven with infected left eye which left me half blind and in constant need of eye moisture - had a cup of Chamomile tea on the table to do the trick  ::)  You know, put left finger into a tea cup, put finger into the eye, rinse, downshift for T1.

We must be insane.  ;)

Congrats to champs, youfast b******s.  ;D

P.S. I guess it's time to start campaigning for a 180 minute super endurance championship (with mandatory 2x5 mins pit stop). Sprints suck.  ;D

LOL, I had a comedy moment trying to let you by on the main straight. Flashed to let you know I was aware you were going past and looked over to find that your fancy pants German rubbish was unable to make any headway at all against my "truck-engined" lump and had to lift off to ensure you got past.

If I can just add something. I didn't want to interfere in any way to the battles for titles last night and yes I did take extreme measures to let people past. Judging by the comments that was a bad idea. My off, which ended my race, was down to me being nervous and trying a little too much to be quick. The difference between the GT3 Cup and the GT boys was big. I felt like I had no time to take a corner or two and let them past on power.

hmmmm. that gives me an idea. how about a fun race in which NGT drivers race GT cars and vice versa? I think that would be the best way NGT class drivers would get to know GT class point of view as per lapping goes.

I think the overall consensus (from what GT drivers have said in the past) is to be predictable and stay on the racing line. That minimises the chance of a misunderstanding and potential contact.

sorry Dave,that was me weaving.
i thought i saw 2 GT cars in my mirror and moved over.
Only the 2nd car was Dave.
Didnt realise until to corners later.
Anyway, closed the gap on dave only to get blown away by the raw power of the viper on the s/f straight.
It was like that for a couple of laps, then managed to get past him.
Due to Dave slowing to let a car past.
When we hit the s/f straight,i felt there was enough of a gap for you not to get past.
Although i know you would have been all over me entering turn 1.
So i didnt want to give you the chance of a tow,or you would have gone past as if i stopped.
Anyway, we had a bit of a coming together because i braked earlier as i was off line.
Which made me feel bad when i looked behind and saw you sitting there.
So after a few seconds of calling myself a prat etc.
I decided to slow up and let you through.
In the process of slowing up i all almost went off the track, dont know how i managed that.
Dont know if your were flashing your lights at me when you went past to say you prick or thanks for letting me through.
Anyway sorry for that.
And apologies if i slowed any of the others down when i was lapped.
Tried my best to stay out of the way.
Not used to getting lapped so often.
And it was bloody hard to get out of the way when there was 3 of you at the same time.
So decided to put my wheels on the grass to get out of the way.

Well done, Legends!  :)  Not enough for a championship, but all the same, we were ok.  :-*

Seems like we did our homework for the last race - I guess lack of time caused Shark to be left without a setup  :(  (good move, Pops!). I qualified 3rd, after Paul968 and Leuven. I mean - AFTER! Great time for both of you!  :o  Was expecting you both to sail away but Leuven made a mistake early on which enabled me to go past. About a 1/3 into the race Leuven closed the gap, but at the time GTs were lapping us. I was a bit nervous as I didn't want Leuven to slip by in the GT tow, so I added a bit too much throttle in the right bend and my a$$ started to move outward. Corrected it, but lost speed which caused a touch with Leuven and he bounced off the wall - fortunately back onto the track. Sorry, was not intentional. I set M3 to be a bit oversteary throughout the race which meant it was a bit too much at the begining.  ::)
Anyway, I managed to stay in 2nd place (saw in the replay that Leuven had three offs in the first half of the race  :o ) and the gap was about 17 seconds when I pitted. Had 67 l of fuel at the start, all meds. Did the same in the pitstop, not lost anytime messing in the pits, just pressed "enter". When I came out I was sure I was in front of Leuven, only to see I was wrong. Did you take any fuel, Leuven? Your pitstop was certainly quick (must work on tactics,  must work on tactics, must work on tactics  :taz: ). I guess we need to Ross Brawn.  ;D
I pushed for a while, but since the gap didn't close fast enough and I couldn't get into pace with GT obstacles  ;D I decided to conserve tyres and went to bring in 3rd place in the race and 2nd in the NGT championship. Even if I did catch and overtake Leuven it would not mean anything for the championship. I might have made a mistake and lose everything I worked for.
What is NOT nice to see is lose the NGT team championship for the measly 3 points.  >:(  But congrats to sneaky Team Shark all the same.  :P  Was nice to have direct duels on-line, it adds volumes to racing and the purpose keeps you going. Well done, Shark(s)!  8)

I guess we were all a bit nervous in the race, as to not interfere with the outcome outside of our class. I hope I was letting GTs by ok, though I was sometimes unsure when to do it. I know this coin has two sides, Jure. I guess this is unsolvable situation, we'll just have to be patient and cautious.  :thumbup1:

Congrats to Leuven for NGT championship - the board says it all, you deserved it. Must say I learned a lot in this season and I'm glad I came close enough to you aliens to snif your ...   ... exhaust. Great pace, Paul, uncatchable.  :)
Nice, close battles in GT class as well, even the fastest former Peunguin Jon_M was not quick enough. Good season for CJ and Ruskus, grats to both, respectively. And Team Shark, of course.  :)

TT

Good racing with very mixed field, the G3s wasn't a prob really, I think I lost more time getting stuck behind the faster NGT drivers  :D
Car was running in leanburn mode with lowest possibly revs so made up alot of time in the pits.

Reading S5 plans it all sounds good, interesting to see what will change in ballast, I think I'll have to choose one of the more 'occult' looking cars ;D

Going into the race I was expecting Paul to be the main contender for pole and he was.
I had decided before the race that I was going to go for tactics and make sure I finish well in the points and therefore not even attempting to race Paul  :whistling:, as I had no need to risk a big battle, saying that, I'm not sure if I could have been fast enough to get in front.
I was trying too hard to be careful and ran wide a few times throughout the race, so maybe I should have raced normal and would not have lost concentration. ::)

I probably saved some fuel driving a little conservatively and jumped TT after we had both pitted. (I remember thinking about Schumacher's attempt to take out Hill after TT's failed attempt to end my race early on)  ;)

I could see your rear end coming round in slow motion so was expecting it a little but didn't have the will power to take my foot off enough as I was looking like I was on my way past, and I was hoping you would collect it ;D

I wasn't expecting to win the title(final results permitting) after the first two events I had in the Vertigo/slow/blow etc..... :o so am reasonably happy.(results permitting)  :)

Team Shark had less than half of the Legends points so we done well to turn it round Shark.  8) (final results permitting)
Well done to the others Truetom and Shark on their podiums.  :) (final results permitting)
