Bah! 2 race disco's in 2 weeks. Might not race again for a while. It's strange because my connection is still on but for about 20 secs it just seemed to be throttled :( Was enjoying the race until then though. There was some great times being set in qually. Jeff and TT were flying :o Good luck for the rest of the race boys. I hope my disco didn't provide any ghost cars or anything. Sorry :(

First of all big sorry to No25. I think Baracus got a bit out of shape which slowed things up a bit and I just understeered into your right rear with my left front on cold tyres. Very sorry mate  :'( . I am sure I could have done more to avoid a collision so bit annoyed with myself.

After recovering I ended up having a cracking race with Mark Mc and Adam initially. Mark had a slight off which put me at the head of that trio eventually. I then started to chase Edam with Mark chasing me. As we all closed together towards the end, rear slid a bit and that allowed Mark to get by.  Never got close enough again to try and get the place back but it was nose to tail stuff. Thanks guys really enjoyed that. Congrats to Podium and all for a good season.

Well were do I start!

First off apologies to Simon and Adam for the knocks. Think just before Jon Moore went off I looked at his car instead of my braking poiny, got on it too late and plowed Simon! Some great racing though, really tight. Enjoyed it alot.

My tires were shot the last 10/15 mins. I went for mediums all round, glad I didnt opt for softs ;D

Really nice mix of cars as some people said. It was me in the 550, Simon in the Lister, Mark in the Viper and Adam in the Maser!

Great stuff guys. Congrats on podium finishers and Jeffery! Good run TT!

Regards
Colin 8)

Lasted 2 corners woohoo.  ::)

I am so sorry about causing this - I went in to T3 witha bit too much right foot for cold tyres, and had to gather it together :(
Very sorry No25!

Was IMO the most realistic race i've had in GTR2 - very steady gaps growing and shrinking. I caught onto a snake of cars and we pretty much stayed like that until FreQ hit the ghost of someone (didnt have time to see) which sent him off at the end of the straight. It was only thru seeing his dust cloud that I noticed the ghost and managed to avoid it so I felt compelled to let him bu after he caught up.

My tyres went off on the last lap (soft fronts) and I got the verbal warning! But thankfully It thought we had another lap to do. I was loosing buckets of time in the last secotr (liek 1.5 seconds some laps) so again consistency let me down!!

CU all next time :)

Really enjoyed that - first GT race and all.  I was a bit aprehensive about it all at the start, but relaxed into it, getting some breathing space.  Made a couple of silly mistakes, letting the Gymers et al catch up (and then get past).  Was enjoying bein the filling in a Gymer sandwich for a little bit ( ) before Shark got a bit unsettled over some kerbs and dropped back.

The MC12 seemed to be able to get the hammer down much earlier that Dave's Vette, and that really paid dividends - FINALLY letting me get the better of him!  Opened up a good gap after that, with no hope of catchin Paul and that bunch.

Amazing pace up front, TT - you made that Maser look goooooooooood!

With more races under my belt after this season, I think you'll see more of me in a GT next season.

Cheers all.

What an absolutely cracking finale for the last GT race of the season !

Amazing pace, and close fighting throughout the whole qually session. Was gutted on my last lap at session end when i was 0.229 up with only one corner to go and ran out of fuel  :'(...would have gained 4 places to 8th?, but pleased all the same with 12th considering it was my first outing in the delicious Legends Maserati  and the fierce competition present :alien:

We had a race team of 3 Massa's on the grid which was great to see :tt1: and TT set the field alight with his blistering pace. :notworthy:

Race started great despite a scary moment up at turn 2-3 where a couple of GT's ahead of me had contact and went off in different directions as i threaded through after some deft braking :o Then had a charging pair of Sharks in Simon and Aagramn keeping me honest while i did my best to catch Baracus ahead. This status quo remained for about half the race length with Aagramn staying within a second or so behind me and me not quite able to close the gap on the front 8 cars. One slip and he would have had me but i kept it quick and consistent and eventually eeked out a 6-10 second gap.
I then caught a recovering Leuven and we proceeded to have a cracking chase for the last third of the race when i kept him honest and stayed on his fin for lap after lap, always within 1 to 3 secs behind. :fencing: He then put a wheel wide up at campsa and i steamed past but he stayed glued to me and on the following lap pulled off a great inside overtake on me up at Werth and got his 8th place back on the last lap of the race. I crossed the line about 2/100ths behind him.

A corking race. Seemed i was fighting one shark or another all eve  :2guns: and was pleased with a top ten finish in such illustrious 21 car company.
Well done to our TT for his cracking 2nd place and Adam in also his first GT and Massa outing for 14th :thumbup1:
Congrats to Jeff on his win. 8)

First off apologies to Simon and Adam for the knocks. Think just before Jon Moore went off I looked at his car instead of my braking point...
Exactly what I did, lol.
Great race, probably the most fun of the season with a few awesome battles between 3-7 or 8th place for almost the whole race.
Made 2 big cock ups, ran wide onto the back straight (same as Academy race which cost me the lead...arghhh), and then decided to oogle Jon's car instead of T1's braking point and went straight over the chicane. Still, me and Paul were glued together for the whole race, and at the end it was real close with Zacari, some real good sliding into braking zones as I tried in vain to get past.  ;D

Why'd you let me through Baracus? You didn't need to! I wondered what was going on for a minute! lol

GR peeps

Not a great race for me, result is, but they way isn't.

Because of Jon's disco I got the lead, which is a cheap way to get it, as he was much faster than me and he deserved the win more than me.

Great qually pace but especially great race pace from TT in the Massa  :o  :notworthy:

Thanks guys! MC12 did feel very stable here, tyres were going towards the end - I was losing 0,5 seconds per lap in the last 5 minutes.
Anyway - I didn't overtake anybody, so I can't take much credit here. Paul968 ran wide, Leuven also, Jon had a freeze.  >:(  Fastest lap is entirely due to Ruskus  and :sleep1: 'cause he had nothing to do.  ;D  Sorry buddy, I had enough to do with myself.  :D
Made a gap of 5 seconds to the 3rd and was keeping it until the last few laps when the tyres started to fall apart. Two more laps and I couldn't have held the 2nd positon - luck was on my side.
Feels good anyway and especialy 'cause of the great performance of entire (attending) Legends Racing team.   Good job MJ and Adam!  8)

yup, what a race!   a real thumbs up for sim racing in my opinion!  count me in (if theres space/if i am alowed) for the next season!!

i spent the first 2 sessions thinkin we were on the 04 track and couldnt fathom why i was over 2 secs of my normal pace, plus my tyres were burning up!  so spent all of qually tryin to quick fix my setup for the race! managed to get a qually lap in which put me in 8th which i was chuffed with considering my problems!

race start and i was just holding onto zacari who was in 7th, i was thinkin this was going to be a long race but even after a few laps the field was still tight top 8 and so some hope crept back in again!

freq and paul?  red 550 made small offs which put me into 6th and for a few laps were on my tail looking for ways past but i think a few more small offs dropped them back a bit nearer midway point in the race!

lueven had his off and with jon's disco i was in 4th still chasing zacari!  i started to now put the pressure on but he was holding his ground well and i even got along side a couple of times one for at least 3 corners but still managed to keep infront of me!!
with around 12-15 mins left zacari got to much wheelspin and i managed to sneek past and gave chase to the magnificint TT in his mazza!  he was 5 secs infront and with 10 mins to go was catching around 0.8 - 1.0 per lap!
i thought i had one more lap left where i would have been right on his bumper but the race finished with me under one sec behind!

all in all a great race and even tho i joined this season late have enjoyed it ivery much!

My setup wasn't very good and I was struggling for traction. Started with a bit too much fuel, hard rears and medium fronts. Early race was okay, managed a fairly consistent pace and managed to get in amongst my fellow tail end Charlies as we took turns making small mistakes and occaisionally running wide.

Couldn't quite keep Adam back but managed to hold Simon off for many laps, but as the tyre wear passed 10 the car was decidedly unstable over the bump braking zone for the third to last corner and I spun to the inside allowing him and Jure (and probably more) past. Didn't really enjoy it after that, the car's balance was gone and despite a spin from Jure on the penultimate lap I never looked like being able to close the gap.

In fact I only just avoided being lapped! ::) :D

Good mix of cars on the grid, think we had at least one of everything except the 575.  :)

Solid race for me. Qualified fairly well in 14th, and finished 10th. Was pleased to stick close to Mark in the early part of the race, but was never able to put him under any real pressure, and after a few laps he started to pull away steadily. Was pretty quiet for me after that, brought the car home without any drama.

I need to check the replay over an early incident which may have been my fault.

After the end of the race there seemed to be an end-of-season party going on at the end of the straight, which I gatecrashed at about 120 MPH.  :D

Bad luck on the disco again Jon.  :( Good win Ruskus, and special mention for TT for his effort in the MC12.

Cracking finish to the season, with no let up in the action for the full 40 minutes. Messed up my setup at the last minute, adding extra rear wing to save the rear tyres but in the process making the car understeer far too much in the fast corners. Then gave up 2 places at the start because I lost track of Freq and thought he must be alongside (infact he was too far back to see!), so stayed wide in t1 and t3 - plonker! The rest of the race was a full on fight for 4/5/6/7, but my understeer meant that I never got a good run onto the straights and couldn't make a passing attempt against the lambos. Can't complain tho, as I'm extra rusty in GTs after a good NGT run, so 6th is a nice result. Excellent dicing with Freq, Enzo & Zacari, and real respect for TT making the maser go so fast  :notworthy: Congrats to Ruskus in the Vette (more respect) and hard luck to Jon who seems cursed with bad luck atm. Just one question - did the kerbies hold off the team shark junior menace?

A brilliant and very hard race, other than the first I didn't have one quiet lap!

I got in a good PB in quali, 7th in the end with some great pace from everyone.  The start of the race was really tight, and after Jon's disco :( and Leuven's slide wide, I was up to a rather undeserved 3rd ;D with a 2-3 second gap to TT (I think) and a 1sec gap back to Enzo.
I couldn't gain anything on the leaders, and Enzo zoomed up to my rear bumper, where for about 10-12 laps I had one hell of a time trying to keep him there!  I kept hoping Paul might keep him occupied enough to let me get away, but that never happened :D I was really struggling with the car pushing as the race went on,and Enzo's intense pressure paid off as I ran wide out of turn 4.  Almost immediately I had FreQ on my tail, but I managed to slide and block the remaining 6-8 laps to hold 4th until the flag 8) Fantastic battling with you both!

Excellent racing, being able to race so close was great :) grats to Jeff for the win & the title, and TT for being damn fast in the MC12!

Thanks again, guys. I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the car. One thing bothers me: how was MC12 competitive here while not at all in Hockenheim? I hope in the next fun races we can clear up what MC12 can do. Mostly I'm afraid of rainy races - I never managed to finish a wet race, even off-line.  :(

What worries me is how much faster not just the 550 was down the main straight but also the Viper, which was walking away from me even with me in the tow and with rear wing down at 6! :o

I knew there was but I was trying not to leave too inviting a gap and there wasn't much margin for error. When it's for position it's not so bad and since you were only alongside 'cause I had a tank slapper coming out of the corner after Renault I figured I could get the place back. Then you boogered off into the distance. ::) :D

Well done to Jeff on the race win and another championship win and to the mighty Team Shark for the team championship.

My race had some good battles from time to time, but most of the time it was a battle with the Lister. I really didn't get on with the handling of it, seemed very icy in comparison to other GT cars and that rubbish engine noise was driving me barmy by the end. Even with 10 wing compared to Gizmo's 6 I couldn't keep with his Vette round the fast corners, I was just loosing oodles as time as I fought the car off the marbles and off the curbs despite a very oversteery setup.

As I missed a couple of rounds I haven't managed to try all the GT cars this season, missing out on the Lambo and Vette, hopefully I can fit in a race with each in the close season.

TT

The MC12 has great turn in, which is prefect for all those fast corners at Barca. Especially the last two corners. At Hockenheim, most corners are quite slow, and you don't have to have great turn in for thos. In GTR2 the MC12 is underpowered so getting out of those slow corners with that small amount of power isn't gonna help either.

Yes, I was afraid of that.  >:(  I guess we need more testing of MC12 on various circuits before we can truly evaluate its average performance. Too bad GT guys didn't drive it more so the statistics wise its quite poor.  :(

I did try the MC12 early on, but I think there was one race where it was wet, and the thing was completely undriveable. It was all over the place on the straights!

Plus, I'm not very fast at the best of times, and just couldn't make the MC12 perform, so I went Saleening instead.

I've found that the MC12 weaves all over the place on straights too, it would seem there is something very screwy with the physics model for this car. You have to pay 100% attention around the entire track without the customary breather down the long s/f straight :sweatdrop: I was gripping the wheel like a madman last night.
I was drenched in sweat by the end of the race and felt shattered but elated :)

Perhaps the caster or toe needs tweaking to straighten the bugger out? Forgotten which it is for straight line stability :-\

The car felt great in some of the turns though, i noticed i could drop Aagramns 550 through the last few corners to gain a handy gap from his faster 'straight line speed' Fezza on the s/f straight.

Yeah I couldn't catch Adam either. Me Simon and Dave were very close for a few laps after I got back in touch after hitting Simon.

Was it you we had the three way with into turn 1? Heart in mouth stuff. ;D

It most certainly was. I was thinking if I can get my braking point just perfect I can just sneak it into turn 1 and 2. Looking forward to watching it on the replay!
