Totally baffled ( or getting old  :wheelchair:!!)  I see that I have one of the fastest laps????? I cannot even remember this track and the name stirs no memories at all!!???

I think I need to download this circuit and take a look, then go and lie quietly in a darkened room.  :-\

If you haven't already done so, please download and install the "start man" from this thread (http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=3729&st=40#entry36667).  You will need this patch to see the start flag.

I deeply apologize for taking out cars at T1 on L1. It was the worst kind of rookie error. I'm having an awful year and this is just more evidence of the same. I should be suspended for the remainder of the season.

Yeah, driving alone made my thoughts wandering - so I got less concentrated and messed up T1 - loosing a wheel...

Congrats Eric/podium!

I found out after the event (when looking for the this replay) that apparently we were here for a 69x event a few months back.
I don't recall that at all!  To my mind, I've been learining a new track for the past couple of days!

No real harm done - surprisingly, my car survived that impact!
Admittedly,  it it didn't feel quite right initially, so took it easy in the heavier braking sections for a while.

I'd say you came off worse:
Quote
1m02.790s
Dave Curtis - spotters reporting:
minor problems with right rear tire.
minor problems with left rear suspension.
medium problems with right rear suspension.
Pepe Higdon - spotters reporting:
the car has an engine problem.

Although Billy was lucky to have not been wiped out,  gearbox view from his car looks scary!

Wow! I've just seen the laptimes of the Works drivers. OMG.
From a basic school-playground arguement perspective - is it any wonder?!
  • For Privs, the average car-cost was 8.8 tokens
  • For Works, just over 13 tokens

 ;D

But serious for a moment, you're right - 1:51/1:52? Yowser!

Agree, the pace in the Works race was exceptionally quick.

The only thing more amazing was the resilience of Dave's Brabham. I didn't get a great view from my cockpit, but on the replay his car is lauched into the air, sails over my car, bounces around in the off-field with smoke & flames pouring from the engine. Seconds later the Dave calmly steers back onto the track & resumes his race.

Pepe - these things happen to us all. The best fix is to get back in the car for the next race.

The 4 cars at the front were soon out of sight. Along the way, Cookie & Phillipe dropped out leaving me in P3. Eric & Pete were consistetly pulling away but my main issue was staying ahead Mr Dulima's BRM. I suspect Dulima didn't get the flagman update becasue he was slow off the grid. Overall he had a quicker lap time but the Brabham had better acceleration into the straights. We were running about 1 second apart for 15  - 16 laps. Two laps from the end I made a slight mistake before the last turn & Dulima passed me. I almost regained the position down the pit straight but ran slightly wide in T1.  A great fight  & very entertaining race.

Eric, that was one of the best battles I've ever had in the 67s. 23.75 laps of nose to gearbox action. It was a pleasure sharing the tarmac with you and it's a well-earned victory for you and your Ferrari. It's just a pity that I lost you with 1/4 of a lap to go.
