Season 39 – 1955 GP - WORKS – Round 6 – Valentino

The sixth race in the 1955 Grand Prix series finds us at Turin in Italy. Parco del Valentino (also known as Valentino Park) is a popular public park in Turin. It is located along the west bank of the Po river.  Several races were held here between 1935 and 1955, it is the 1955 layout that we will be using for this race.  This is a very challenging circuit with virtually no run-off areas, plenty of undulations and blind corners.  Discretion is the better part of valour for this track. The 1955 race held at this circuit was a non-championship formula 1 race called the VII Gran Premio del Valentino. The race was won by Alberto Ascari in a Lancia D50. This was Lancia’s first ever victory in a Formula 1 race.

Please note: We are using the v3 version of this track. It is the final and best version with a new layout, new objects and new textures. Ginetto also moved the Start/Finish line to the correct place according to pictures from the real race in 1955. We are NOT using the older version which has a track directory called turin55.

This week I won't be able to participate, my daughter takes an ENEM test.

Now I have a chance if a friend can wait and bring her.

 One more abandonment :( the engine broke down with 6 laps to go, but it had little power since the accident with Leo, and I was very slow with the right rear suspension also damaged.
  I'm very sorry for Leo, I tried to avoid him, I made the tangency a lot more inside trying to avoid the contact, but the leo car whipped inside and we touched. I am very sorry for Leo, because his championship was impressive, he was leading the championship with one race less and without the 10 bonus for the first race, it would be quite a feat if he wins the championship!!! I hope you still manage to stay in the fight.

  Congratulations to the race podium that I still don't know.

Arrrggh!  Running P4 with 3 laps to go, just trying to manage the gap back to Enrique who had been putting me under pressure the whole race when I made the tiniest of mistakes, ran wide and took my front wheel off on a lamp post  :( :( :(

Grats to Yannick for a great win. 

On the basis that I think that if I can still see Yannick after half a dozen laps then I must be having a good race, this was a good one.  I kept my concentration and nobody tried to kill me.

The next round is a bit of a joke but the championship situation is such that I shall have to give it a go.  :(

As a result of that comment, I've just downloaded it.  You aren't wrong!

My apologies Jonny. I'm so sorry about our incident and what spoiled your race. It looked like you had passed clear but my car just got a bit of yours.  :'(

Lets hope we have more luck next one and if it is a top 5 among this pro competition it's good enough.   :punk:

That sounds drastic Bernie.  Hope you get it fixed but there is no chance of my providing a sample lap and setup.

I've loaded the chassis the drivers used into the token calculator spreadsheet.  For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement).  The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error.

I hate Nurburgring and only use it when forced.  It took ages to learn and I no longer have the time to commit to it.
