(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see

Another night spent driving around on my own some.

I don't think it's worth me spending dosh just to enter races that I'm hopeless doing so I think I'll call it a day on this series.

My story has not been that much different in the past. Sometimes I was in the pack towards the back, sometimes
my spaceship had no warp drive, and I had to use the impulse engine to get round.
Recently, probably because I don't just turn up with 0 practice anymore.
I don't do a lot of practice, but I do some laps to make sure I can drive the setup

You are not particularly slower than I am Tony, so it's either you need to do a bit of practice
or you need a faster setup? The next event with the Fabcar will be "challenging" I will send you
whatever setup I make, and you can decide whether it's worth the effort  ???

Had some good dicing with Max Ekins for a while until I tried to fill the 2 foot wide gap and made my car narrower
then found some amazing grip into T1 and had to take evasive action to not hit too hard

After that I had some fun chasing and almost catching Pete, well done Pete  8)

Again an full Italian podium   :notworthy:

Was struggling during practice but immediately in quali did 2 good laps.

At the start Massimo pulled away but after him had some battle's with Geoff, Simone and Allessandro. Both where a little bit quicker and Geoff pulled away towards Riccardo, after 1 touch at the sausage kerb in Village.

After a battle behind me between Simone and Allesandro, Simone want over me and catched Geoff and Ricardo in front of me, with 3/4 laps to go i was catching them back due to a heavy battle. But only managed to be behind Geoff after he visited the gravel in last round at the exit of Luffield.


Great close racing  :thumbup1:, next week in the FABCAR will be something else  ;D

Welcome to Simone. @Tony just stay, if only the top drivers stay there is no race. And indeed if you come in with 0min practice it is very difficult (for me i do 2 or 3, 10min AI race's on the mon-, tue- or wednesday. To see how the car handles, and have a look how fast the time of Italians are at the leaderbords  ;D). Remark: Leaderbord timings are with always perfect tyre's (temp).

I'm already thinking to propose a serie (probably i will do some testing in the christmas period), where the championship leaders get some sort of penalty (weight, slower car,....). So the grid will be more compact.

Had a great battle with Riccardo for 2nd place for most of the race, very robust defending from Riccardo, on a couple of occasions maybe a little too robust causing us to collide. Simone caught us late in the race as our battle was slowing us down & when I made a mistake at Becketts he was past into 3rd. So a bit disappointed with only finishing 4th at the end. :(

Tony do you have the car for next week? If so I will do some testing & send you my setup. Can't promise it will be any good as I have only tried the car once before & was not very quick in it, but I do like the track.

For me I really appreciate anyone who comes to play with us, whatever their pace, so I am particularly happy that
Tony joins, as he has many years of organising events here, and is something of a stalwart in SROUK

We are doing well with this series of Riccardo's in particular with good fair fast drivers, and I can sometimes
hang on their coat tails  :scooter: I get some close racing with Tony in GTL,  :fencing:  so I was hoping it would be
the same here. Maybe it can become so.

My first test with these cars was not positive. I thought they were slow and awkward, my eventual setup, which would not be perfect
was 0 rear wing with level 5 traction control, and front roll bar to minimum rear roll bar some clicks higher. So maybe I should have been faster
if others had close to the default setup, but I managed to stay in the mix with Spanner and Picnic, so I was happy.

Any other fast drivers, or non  :alien: who is thinking of joining? please do, you will be very welcome.  :thumbup2:

Next week could be anybody's race, as the challenge will be to stay on the road with those beasts. I have run Gr5 events in the past
and they mostly went well, but I usually chose the Capri, as I could get a drivable setup easier than the others.

We (as in SROUK) have had some handicapping systems in the past. I might have done myself for P&G
And my memory is that they worked, but the fast drivers sometimes lost interest as they didn't get to win all the time
and didn't want to have to work so hard to get the win, having to spend even more time with practicing and setups
The faster drivers usually won anyway, but it was less certain so I liked that myself.
It's deffinately worth some thought.  :chef:

I connected to the server at 20:45, after having bought the track shortly before, which I did not own

thanks to Massimo, in 20min of practice I understand how to drive the car. and in qualifying I'm not doing badly, but in the race, to my surprise, I improve lap after lap, and I manage to keep a pace, which allowed me to get to the podium.

I'll see if I can also participate in the next races, for the moment thanks again for organizing this championship

hi everyone, this race was more complicated than expected, my setup was almost default only with harder springs, I was fast on the flying lap but in the race after a few laps I started having tire problems and I was joined by Geoff and I had to defend myself, it was a good battle then Simone also arrived but I was not willing to give up 2nd place. the next race will be completely different, a medal to those who manage to arrive without errors .....
sorry Geoff if I was a little tough in defense but I couldn't let you pass, however you are a very good driver, fast and correct, congratulations to you.

I definitely do practice, first off to learn the track (if I need to) and the cars which I definitely need to. I fiddle with the settings then I have goes on the Leaderboard challenge. Sometimes I'll set up a short race mainly to get the fuel right.

I found last nights car quite underwhelming so was unable to ascertain where I was losing the speed.

I do have next weeks car and track so will try to attend.

@Matt & Geoffers, yes all setups gratefully received. In fact it would be great if I could get last night's setups too.

Once my house move is fully done and I'm settled in I do want to drop in on some more of the RRE stuff, if and when the car/track combo tickles my fancy. I have run under both self imposed, and organiser imposed, handicap situations before now over the years, and for me they are always great fun. I would much rather work really hard for any results ;D

This wouldn't be the same Daz from ye olden NoGrip days by any chance would it?

You must have missed my return to the sim world, your own fault for playing these new games though, I'm still stuck mainly on GTL. Been over in the section for over a year now, still trying hard to keep up with young Geoffers....

Yeah, those GTL and P&G days were so good back then, and I still miss the sheer depth of quality tracks and cars that were (are) available. But I can't go back now, RRE is king for me, and loving what historic content it does have. Great to hear from you Daz, and hope to see you (and Heebs and any other ex-NG'ers) in RRE soon! (The 935 Fabcar next week would be right up your street..)  ;D

No problem mate, my race was terrible with or without that contact :)
I have no feeling at all with this car (really I have this problem with raceroom in general  :helpsmilie:) , too much understeer and I fought all the time with lack of front grip. In fact I never understood how to drive it so my only target was to wait the end of race  :angel:
