No, it's cause it never gets used so this is it's opportunity. The other cars are there for the aliens if they want to battle with the humans, they can take a "slower" car.

Rats, does that mean that if I take the TVR ('cause I loves it :tt1:) I'll be left for dead by everyone? ???

GT40 is not easy to drive. You have to get the setup right and work out how to drive the cars well.

oh man, I thought I had at least 40 more minutes before the race started :S

8 minutes of superfast tuning the GT40 and absolutley NO knowledge of that track turned out for the worst! lol

Well that didn't last long. Disco'd twice in qually, then half spun under braking for Druids on the first lap trying to hold off PRibeiro, picked up a couple of hits, then got a third stop and go somewhere between Dingle Dell and Stirlings (first one on formation lap - was nowhere near the edges of the track) and that was that.

I don't think we should use this version of the GP track again because we had trouble like this before and I'm certainly not going to waste time trying to race on it in the future.

Didn't have any problems with cut warnings myself and I was driving the track as normally as usual. Maybe the track simply doesn't like British cars.  :P

Well I was doing absolutely fine. Qualified 2nd and 2nd in the race. About 1/3 through and I span at Druids to let Jeff through in his Cobra. Same lap and I failed to brake in time for Dingle Dell and careered into the barrier killing my engine. Very disappointing to not be able to continue as I had a nice podium there.

Hope you had a good one.

Cracking first 1/3 of the cars. Getting to know every square inch of Simon's ass :). After his spin at Druids he thought he could improve that one and he totalled a perfectly fine GT40  :P. Shame, as it was turning out to be a great race, thanks for that Simon  :thumbup2:.

Baracus was faster but he made some mistakes, probably cause he  fel asleep as none could touch him  :D. Grats for the good win Bara.

I also didn;t have any probs with the c/t warnings, and I was really slamming the curbs. ???

Gizmo, if you had problems with disco's, that might be the reason you got black flagged, the game probably caught you warping off track a bit.

Had an okay race, managed to get to the finish, just too bad that everyone behind me left, so I was last most of the race.

Also I didn't think we were allowed to cut corners like that, so I'll probably be faster in the future.

Gizmo, if you had problems with disco's, that might be the reason you got black flagged, the game probably caught you warping off track a bit.

I don't believe I was warping - I saw no problems with other cars and my disco's were down to my ADSL connection having bounced back to 2MB/s earlier, a speed which my line doesn't support, hence two disco's as it slowed down to about 1.6MB/s.

This isn't the first time I've had a problem with this particular track, which leads me to believe that there is something in the way it's constructed which causes it to hand out cut warnings for particular lines through Dingle Dell and into Stirling's.

yes, it definately needs to be re-constructed

BTW sorry to whoever I spun out on first lap - I do beleive it was MortenS

Ok, I had a look at the track in the AIW editor and there are certainly some oddities.

I can definately see why one could get a cut warning for being too far left at Dingle Dell. There is a single AIW point that is way further in than all the others. Stirlings also has all the outside waypoints screwed up, but they are all wider than normal so you shouldn't get a cut there, more likely you can use even more track than you should on the outside. Although maybe if it works out the difference between two points then because there is such a big difference from the ones that are way out to the rest then you could get a cut.

Were your cut warnings through Stirlings when you were wide?

I think they were all on the way into Stirlings having used quite a lot of the curb on the left in Dingle Dell. I certainly didn't run wide in Stirlings.

Ah, I was looking at Surtees not Stirlings. Stirlings looks normal on the AIW editor.

Don't think so, can't remember I spun at all the first lap. No worries though.
