Hi Lasse. I can't find Ford Escort 1000 BD. Is is Ford Escort BDB in the game?

It is 1970 Ford Escort 1.0 in game.
I will fix the race info for now on with the correct name. Thanks for the note.

I am happy to take part this year as well as I had holiday from work.

We had great 2 races with many people. It was nice to see that.

I had good pace for Race 1 but when I was about to challenge Geoff for the pole position I went wide and messed up. At the start I was too slow and from P4 there was not much I can do versus 3 great drivers like Daz, Manfred and Geoffers. My battle with Goeff though was my highlight of the evening. I had great time and even though I lost the chance for podium few corners before the end I was happy with my performance.

Race 2 was one big luck for me. I knew Abarth starts bad but I had no idea than Manfred will go down to P8 and after 2 laps I will have 8 seconds lead. Until the end I had to keep the pace as Manfred was much faster. Fortunately I won with just 6 tents ahead of him.

Some good racing once again, first race in particular was a great battle with DD for 3rd place. Thought I may have a chance of winning that one after being fastest in qually but Daz, Manfred & DD all upped their game in the race & were quicker than me & really I should have finished 4th but DD unnecessarily let me past on the last lap & then spun out. Not the best way to end a good race.

Race 2 in the smaller class looked like being another good battle, this time with Daz as we were very close in qually. However Daz got held up at the start & I was 5s ahead of him at the end of lap 1 & briefly ran 2nd overall. Gap to Daz stayed pretty constant throughout the race apart from one lap where I ran wide onto the grass & lost over a second. Was set for another 3rd place overall finish until a recovering Clive passed me on the last lap. ::)

Congrats to all the class podiums.

I'll echo these thoughts.

2 really top drawer races, the slower stuff really does reward mostly.

Race 1 - in the Escort, but only as I had not done a single lap of practise, and needed a car that I knew I had a setup sorted for. Escort had felt fantastic at Silverstone, so that was my option.

Felt OK here, apart from the hairpin where it was very slow to pick up. Changed up the gears to make that a little better, but apart from that ran the same setup as previously at Silverstone. Didn't get all of the time out of the car in quali, but was thinking I should be close to the front row guys in the race as I was getting quicker all the time.

Decent start, jumped away from Dimitar, and for the first couple of laps generally hung around in Geoffers mirrors making a nuisance of myself. Went side by side a couple of times, eventually getting past at turn 1. Manfred had a little gap now, but I thought the car had a little more to give, so even with the short race I thought I may catch him up.

Had to push like mad, but got to Manfred, and made a pest of myself until going past, but that only lasted for a lap or so, as I made a total horlicks of the hairpin and Manfred blasted back past me. The Escort had the legs on the Abarth in a few turns, but the hairpin and the drive out of it was Abarth territory for sure, and getting close into it wasn't enough to then be able to make a pass on the start/finish section like I had with Geoffers. Had to really work at it, but on the final lap got alongside over the hump on the straight, and held on for the win. Great race with Manfred, very fair on his part indeed.

Second race is as Geoffers said, looked like it would be epically close, and during the race the laptimes actually were, but I got well tangled up on lap 1, and lost 5 seconds to Geoff, and just couldn't get back to him over the short 10 lap race. Such a shame as I think that would have been at least as close as race 1, if not closer, but at least I kept him on his toes....

All in all a great nights racing, very much my preferred version of Zolder.

As Daz said the Escort was better through some of the turns than the Abarth. I tried several setup options when testing but just could not cure its tendency to understeer on the power through the faster turns.
