Title: UKGPL Season 40 (Spring 2022) 1967 Sports Cars - Monza 1000k - May 27 Post by: Cookie on May 25, 2022, 01:29:39 PM +0100 Season 40 - SC67 Cup – Round 9 - Monza 1000k
The 9th round of the SCX Season 40 will be held at Monza 1000k - the 10km track was too fast, so they made 2 chicanes for the GT's. Monza the hard way... Please check the Season 40 details (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=1691&theme=6) regarding rules and the SCX Cup pages (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=1761&theme=6) in particular. In order to add an element of realism, and to hopefully reduce the possibility of rear-end incidents, the brake light patch will be used (http://srmz.net/index.php?showtopic=13319&#entry145626)
Handicapping "Works" drivers will carry extra weight in form of 6 gallons (~27 Liter) of race fuel (to remain in the tank after the race). No limit in quali! Drivers are expected to behave in a fair and gentlemanly fashion and declare how much fuel they have left after the race. 1 x Reset will be allowed there is no need to carry out a Stop and Go in the pit lane if you make a Shift-R. Drivers are reminded that Lap 1 incidents carry an extra 1 place penalty. Only reported incidents will be moderated. Please restrict chat to emergency messages only including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line. WIP

No you are free to take any car, as long it's in the rules... 9:32pm UPDATE: Damn! I was looking forward to this one. The track loads fine offline with this Mod. IGOR tells me that the track is not installed (when it clearly is) so I joined via IP address. Connection is accepted but then the pits screen is displayed for about 1/2 a second before I'm booted back to the Multiplayer Screen. All settings and options are correct in GEM+ (brake light patch and 60fpsV2New etc). I've never had this problem before. I even re-downloaded the track but that did not fix it either. As an experiment, I tried joining another race on IGOR and this worked just fine. (SC Mod at Monza 67). Any ideas? I had wrong track. Monza10k.
Didn't realise the one with chicanes existed. I've had no time this week to test so only got to GPL rig at 9pm today. I'll download this track tomorrow to see what I've missed. Some years back, I blew my brains out trying to join an OAO practice session believing it to be M10K. Nope. Later I learned that it was run on the M1000 circuit with the chicanes. I had that available to me but not in the proper track folder. C'est la vie...

This is why we always publish the track directory in the race announcements and registration threads. The track directory names are unique.Didn't realise the one with chicanes existed. I didn't give it a second glance as I didn't even know the track with chicanes existed. What a doofus!

Pete, that´s a shame you couldn´t find the problem sooner. I also wonder what happened to Fulvio and Claudio. I was interested in seeing what car Fulvio would drive. That was another unexpected win. With Yannick and Tristan racing, I never have any real hope of winning unless I have a good car advantage against them. It was very unlikely I could beat Tristan unless he made a big mistake. My only hope to win was pass him on the last lap before Curva Grande and hope I could keep him behind for the rest of the lap. He crashed terribly on the banking giving me the lead. I couldn´t tell exactly where his car was and hoped he wouldn´t come back on the track in front me. I got lucky to get by his wrecked Chaparral. Thanks for the fun gentlemen. Quite frankly, a lucky podium for me as Yannick fell afoul of the banking a couple of times and Axel suffered an engine failure in the closing stages to promote me. For many a lap, I was his shadow but realistically, it was all I could do to hang on. A pass wasn't really likely and I needed a mistake/misfortune to strike Axel if I was going to pass. As luck would have it, the normally bullet-proof 7-litre Ford mill gave up on him late in the going. Bad luck there, Axel. It was fun chasing you. Well done Greg & Doni ;) ....thx all and Org. Axel, as I tell you at first of the season, I can't drive the Chap 2F because of the wing and the F10 vue, you tell me we will see that at the end of season .....so it's time ;) , should I drive the 2D in Assen ? Thx ;) Title: Re: UKGPL Season 40 (Spring 2022) 1967 Sports Cars - Monza 1000k - May 27 Post by: Cookie on June 01, 2022, 12:28:50 AM +0100 Yes you can use the 2D ;)
