Bloomin' heck you're quick, I literally this second posted this event! ;D

Are we going to do the same as we did tonight Simon  ;D...euh...that sounded different in my head  ;)

Would be fun Jeff! I don't think I'll keep up with you in the yank tanks though. Maybe if you take the Mustang and I take the Falcon I may have some chance of keeping up. Have to say this is a great little circuit for drifting these american cars big stylee!

Edit: Supertrack version. Small, but not a Mickey Mouse version. Indeed, good for these cars! ;D

Sorry, I thought Trois Rivieres was somewhere in France  ;D...no I really did  :-[.

What are good times around here in the Mustang?

Yes, what are the top times going to be?

I've done a couple of 30 minute practices, did a 1:29.3 in the Mustang and then later a 1:28.3 in the Falcon (with better track knowledge) - I'm guessing the difference is probably half a second in reality, but I prefer the more stable handling of the Mustang (imho).

I didn't like the track at all at first, used to the old Zandvoort from GPL, great track.  This one's a bit schizophrenic, mad long straight, awkward technical slow bits at the back.  But it's grown on me once I got over the fiddly-ness of the back section, you can actually flow a bit through it and it's a forgiving track for small errors.  Should be a fun race.  :)

My interweb connection is playing silly buggers again. After last week's disaster I think I will sit this one out rather than put myself through the wringer again!

Argh.

The beggining of the race should have told me of things to come. I got rear ended right at the start, but luckily the tank didn't seem to be affected by it. What got me was an absolutley crazy Stop/Go penalty.
My front driver's side tyre grazed over the rumble strip and I got an instant Stop/Go penalty. Not even a warning.

 >:(

Kind of sucks cause I was having a good race too :/ Watched the top 3 battle it out for a while. You guys looked like you were having fun!

Fun race. Good battles with Madd and Bara. Some things I'm not so happy with is being cut off by a backmarker and paintswappingovertaking :-\

Finally I'm getting the hang of thing, or is it just this track car combination :D

Thanks Bill for not quitting, I was checking my mirror quite often. At least from lap 19 and onwards, as my tires gave up.

Great race everyone, loved the Mustang :o

Good race, I was some seconds behind the top 3, got a grandstand view of the paint swapping, fairly robust (but generally fair?) stuff.  Good to watch as you got closer to me because of all the place-swapping.  ;)

Think my connection was poor - sorry to Simon as I think my warping sent him off.  I thought my ISP was poor, but is it the wireless connection? - I could buy a REALLY long cable to connect to the router if that would improve things.  Any input appreciated.  ???

That kind of warping we've seen before and it's almost certainly cause your on a wireless connection. Pribeiro was the same when he was using wireless and when he went wired, cured straight away. Your car just freezes in the track for a couple of seconds and then carries on. Unfortunately it got me twice on the warmup lap and then into T1 on Lap 1 to put me in the gravel. No probs, these things happen. When I got near you in the closing stages I just didn't want to get any closer cause of the warp though but eventually made my own mistake in T1 to have the car pointing the wrong way on the exit to let Tom Coop through and take my deserved 5th spot. :'( :'(

If you can get your connection wired that would be great as GTR2 and GTL don't work well with wireless at all.

That's OK.  I only quit if my car packs up or I'm a hazard to other drivers.  ::)  Saw I was catching you and tried to driver harder closed a bit then got too ambitious and went off.  :( Closed a bit but not sufficient.  Had a lonely race after lap 3 I think.  Only livened up by the overtakers wobbling and warping - he put one on the others off the track I suspect.

Good fun ;D

Bill

Ok Simon, I think I can sort out a cable for next time.   :)

I'm relieved that your spin at turn 1 wasn't me - I ran wide at turn 1 (watching Baracas run wide too I think!) you got closer and then I saw you spin in the mirrors and I assumed it was my lag.

Gotta say, 26 laps went really quickly, it was 17 before I even checked my lap counter.

:jumpjoy: To say I'm chuffed is an understatement, a pb in quali meant third and hopeful for a good race.
And what a race, I expected Jeff and Bara too scoot off into the distance very quickly but suprised myself by managing to keep in touch and observe a very tough scrap in front whilst managing to eek out a small cushion to Steven so could start to try and close up.
By trying my best to look after my tyres I slowly started to creep up on the top 2 and then I was in the fight.
And what a fight some amusing moments as we all slid wide at the hairpin and scrabbled to get position!  :D
But mostly the scrap was fair and finally managed to get a good run out of some slower corners and make up positions.
Jeff was very unfortunate in tangling with a back marker but gave no quarter and pushed both myself and Bara to our limits.
I think in the latter stages my tyres were in better shape as the last corner allowed me to give myself a little breathing space to finally win!
Congrats to both Jeff and Bara, awesome guys.

LOL, I'd love to blame the warp, but no I got over-excited at you going off and in my enthusiasm to shoot by I pressed the big right hand pedal too hard and around and around I went.

Congratulations to Matt on a well deserved win.
Really pleased to have gone the race distance without a disconnection - maybe I've finally defeated the gremlins.
Thanks mightily for the 5th place, Simon - it wouldn't have been possible without you :P
Off to France for a month now so I won't be racing GTL again until July(it's a hard life)

Ruskus, Im glad I put a smile on your face  :P ;D

I managed to flip over the fence again, and then couldnt get back on to the track  >:( Decided to quit as I realised i could be a distraction for other drivers.

To be honest I shouldnt have raced with an inferior graphics card, Have ordered the new one. So hopefully it will cut a couple of seconds off my laptimes (as if!!)  :o

Another really fun race! Really intense first half with us 3 trading places like no-ones buinsess :D

Seemed to be quite hard setting the pace on braking points, so every time one of us would be in the lead it didnt last long! I was very conscious of not overdoing the tyres in the early battling but it didnt seem to help much! From the middle onwards they were very worn, but not overheating, so I guess it could have been worse - but still I lost touch with Madd and Rus and could never push enough again to catch as the front left was gone and it kept washing out on the last bend and the first one (mainly)!!!

Kept it together for 3rd :-)
