Season 40 – CANM71 Mod – Boreham Airfield

Let's try the fastest mod on this wide track  :scooter:

GPL member Pete Bennett has invested a chunk of his personal time to create a brand new track.
This is a real track (at least until it was built over) converted from a British airfield in the late 1940’s and saw a few years racing into the early 50’s.
The track is now on public release – as per the link below.

Boreham Airfield gets its maiden CanAm 71 GPL race this Friday.

Simple handicapping rule – fast drivers should not take a McLaren M8F  or Lola T260

Please, excepting emergencies, no chat until Session Completed in qualification. No chat in the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

I can't load the track with CA71, CA66, 55 and SC mod. Other mods load the track. Anyone?

I haven't suffered this headache, Fulvio.  I believe that Pete was having similar difficulties but solved it by deleting the appropriate gpl.exe(as in, 'gplm71.exe' for the CA71 mod)and letting GEM rebuild it on hitting the green button to enter GPL from the GEM screen.  Worth a try.  If it works with the CA71 mod, try it with the others.  Good luck!

I had already tried to delete the four exe , but no go

I've not tested this theory, but which language is you GPL.exe in? I've only tested with English version.

Italian version. It loads fine with 67, 66, 65, 69X, 68, F2-67, but not with 55, CA66, CA71, SC and old-GT.
Maybe something missing in track.ini?
I had builded two tracks, GPVL Founders and Vallelunga '71, and hadn't experienced this problem.  ???

Thx Axel, your folder it works. Your folder has a boreham.dat dated 19-06-2022 78.927 Kb, mine with 1.02 installer has one dated 29-06-2022 78.121 Kb, maybe is corrupt for some mods.

Yes, the 1.02 dat file is the problem. I'll investigate further over the weekend.

Cookie, in the meantime, can you post your earlier DAT file on the SRMZ forum as a fix? I'm not near my computer much this weekend. Thanks for your help.

Had a great race with Fulvio until I missed a gear out of Railway Corner and he rear-ended me (not really Fulvio's fault - a racing incident). Whilst we tried to sort ourselves out Doni caught us but there must have been contact because I waited ages for them  to recover but only Fulvio appeared  ???

Two major shunts and I decided to call it a day, Phil.  Was getting a bit fatigued.

Fulvio, it looks as though Axel's folder is working. Can you do me a favour? From the main SRMZ thread, install the hay_balefix and then test the track with CA71 and 55 cars. Then add the Tree-ClipFix and test again.

I've had a quick look this evening and I can't find where the error has sneaked in.

Please let me know how you get on.

If anyone else is having the same issues as Fulvio, I'd really appreciate your findings as well.

Too bad your first crash, I had a nice start passing you and I was expecting a nice battle with the same machinery.
