Ignore the stated circuit in LM2 (For those who look) - Battenburg isn't in the list yet so once that's added I'll edit the post.
For those who haven't seen/tried it, Battenburgring is the latest offering from FatAlfie. So expect something very good and fairly deadly ;D
We'll use the Skoda's for this as they're well known and popular and we should all have a good starting point setup for them.

I'll look to setup a practice server later this evening (I'm still largely stuck downstairs with the puppy, so my admin will all occur after her 'bed time')

Timings:
Practice: 19:30 (45 mins)
Qualifying: 20:15 (15 mins)
Race: 20:30  (30 mins)

Cars allowed:
Skoda 130RS (https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/skoda-130-rs.26700/)

The skin pack is optional - but as I'll simply load one of the old races we'll all be in our chosen skins from last season - newbies may want the pack to avoid being blinded by a grid of white cars!
Skin Pack:

Track: Battenburgring (https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/battenbergring.51838/)

Live Timing: stracker.simracing.org.uk:50041/lapstat (http://stracker.simracing.org.uk:50041/lapstat)

Good to see this Tim. Battenburg is a fab track and should provide some good racing with the skodas. Hope we have a few turn up  :thumbup1:

Server should now be live (delayed as expected by the puppy ::) )
A show of hands ahead of the event would be helpful - it might also encourage people to turn up - feel free to PM and invite people as you feel fit.

Providing I remain able to support things from behind the scenes (this test is more for that than anything else) I hope to start back up the Wednesday night racing from here on in :)

I'm busy with another series and I'm not sure when I'm back in these series or never. This big frozen period has been way too long and I've found new active series where to race, anyway I miss racing with you guys but full grids with long races attempt me more than this.

Hello Tim and everyone,

I just got back home.. 1 hour ago and I'm pretty happy to see that Tim seems to be near the end of the babysitting period. :)

I should be able to show up but I hope the track isn't tough to learn, because I have so much things to do this week.

C'mon Kimi, keep racing here mate, more simracing is made for your healthy life !
Also I got a contact with someone who was interested in our league just at the start of the big summer pause. I need to reactivate him, and my dear team mate Jos, but I'm afraid 2 days is too short for him to get back to the thing. Last time we talked he was in a very busy period.

The track isn't too bad in the Skoda's.
A large amount is full throttle and watching telegraph poles to figure out where the road goes - you mainly need to learn where the 3 hairpins are :)

Hehe,

Thank you guys for your tips.
Unfortunately, I'm facing loads of disoes since I'm back. Why did I shut my box down before leaving my house, that is the question.  :'(

So I'm uncertain about the wed's race.

What an epic track  8)
I eventually lost the lead after my 3rd (I think) drive through when I clipped a curb in the town and ended up trying to park in someone's living room  :D

Those who didn't make it missed out.
Try it in something really fast for a proper learning experience!

Results will be up once the track is in the database

3,5 drive-through as 2 real ones + a pitboxe start. ;)

Was great fun indeed ! The track is superb for sure. For a pretty tough track learning like this, it was a good idea to get back to the Skoda 130 Tim.  :thumbup1:
I'm going to try it again in one of the GTL pack gem.  ;D

Well, the only problem with using the settings from an old Skoda race is that we have effectively gained a load of no-shows by accident :-[

I drove the 250 GTO MkII, the 911 R and the Grp4 Pantera and guys, you definitely should give them a go here.

Wonderful.

Crashed out on lap 2  ::)

These FatAlfie tracks are great but just very tough to actually race with anyone because for most of the lap there is effectively one line. I'd forgotten why I didn't race in the skoda series until I drove it again.... it has GT3 levels of grip/handling which is surely way off for this car type.

Not sure what you have planned for future series Tim, but I think the last one with the limited choices worked really well. Maybe there are other car groups that lend themselves to this without too much work for you behind the scenes? I like the variety as Spec races leave me a bit cold tbh.

BTW Castle Coombe has just been released at RD and it's stunning! I drove a few laps in the Alfa GTA thinking I wish they'd included the non chicane version too only to find it was indeed included  :D

My god that's amazing :o I've been waiting since GPL days for another sim to have an actual correct version of Combe in it 8)
Even the bins are in the right places around the spectator areas

I had been going to run something at Silverstone Classic next week - now I'm scrambling to find something for here!

You're right that they seem to be a tad too much "on rails".. Especially when at the limit, you drive her in her sweet spot.  ::) But otherwise the mod is pretty nice overall imo.
