Bugger, pity that pops. At least it will, hopefully, close up the battle for second place in GTC (no reneging on your promises now  ;)). Crikey this season is flying by.

Balls - just realised that the GTC drivers title's already decided then with Pop's being away.

Not the way I wanted to win it.  If Pops hadn't had the missed Dubai (due to lack of connection) and disco'd at Estoril we'd more than likely be about level - as we were before Dubai.....These last 2 races should have been 2 crackers to decide it - it's more than a little anticlimactic. :(

That said there's still the GT2/GTC drivers and team title up for grabs - so I'll be doing my best to grab them for the Legends and tie it all up before Imola.

WOW...that was brilliant  :o :o :o

been off line for a couple of weeks, missing racing badly and eagerly anticipating a return tonight....been practicing off line...got a good wheel and my times were competetive........THEN WENT AND TOTALLY LOST CONTROL FIRST LAP under braking into Adelade and ended up on my roof. :'( :'(

sorry whoever it was I hit....havn't a clue what happened.

(did someone from the legends happen to return my spanner? whilst I wasn't looking.) ::)

oh dear, how embarassing...i ran out of fuel about 50 metres from the pit entrance  :-[  :'(

Stupid ferking race engineer came over the radio and said 'pit in next lap' even though i was thinking 'hmm gonna be tight to do another lap'  ::) and knew i should have followed gazza as he made his stop.

Was having a cracking race, always fighting in top 5 and some great scraps along the way.
I made a few silly errors each time i was on the tail pipe of whoever i was battling on track, usually getting out of shape when the guy in front appeared to brake earlier than normal, prob from being under pressure.
Had a big scary off at Imola when someone discoed right in front of me and Gazza and we both flew off the track to avoid the car sitting in the entrance of the fast curves  :o

What a shame i went out the race like that as think it would have been a battle royale right upto the finish over 3rd-6th spots.  Was setting 1:31's offline so had the pace just not the luck  :'(

Haha. It was hard overtaking you as you were defending a lot ;D. Also I couldn't predict you brakepoints very well, which made me kinda insecure as I didn't want to mess things up ;D.

Those were the most interesting laps of this race for me, the rest was kinda alone. Mo won alot on me with stops, but my race pace (41's) was better (and my racepace was better than qually pace  :D).

Well that was fun fight with Mo at first, then I made a mistake which put me into the clutches of TrueTom and we had our usual great scrap. Eventually he went off, so I slowed down to wait for him to have more fun, but dunno what happened cause TT you went off again somewhere and never saw you again. Was quite boring without you and I prayed for rain to make it more entertaining but alas not to be. The GT3 Cup is quite a lot of fun to drive actually with it's chuck it in handling. I feel the GT3 class is a bit split up at the moment with the Viper CC being in a different league to the GT3 Cup and the BMW Z3M also being in a different league (down :(). Perhaps for the next clubmen we can all agree to take the same car in GT3? Might be more fun, I don't care about winning in GT3 I just want to race people. :thumbup2: :thumbup2:

Thanks to my "friends" at BRD, that was an excruciating experience. Managed to stop "quality" 7 Pedals from jamming the throttle on when braking, which fecked up last two races, only to find the throttle cutting out on the straights during race tonight. Apologies to Ruskus and shark for looking like I was playing games with them, believe me when I say I wasn't having fun.

Funny pistop though. Called in Mrs C, she unplugged pedals and we tried to calibrate pedals (quite a job ::)) whilst "simulated" pitsop was going on. So, to round it off she's thinks I'm mad, "fancy getting angry at a game" and I've paid 300 notes for a set of pedals that have gone wrong 3 times now.

Not quite right. Check last race where Mo won the GT3 class in the Porka, due to it's much better fueleconomy. I had a better racepace, but I just lost too much in the pits. Almost the same happened this race, he won soooo much with the stops that I got behind him after the stops, eventhough I had a pretty big lead on him. So I find the CC and Porka pretty equal, not in a single lap, but over a long race, they are.
The Z3 however is too slow in comparison to the other 2.

Enjoyed that, still made some rookie errors and still quite seem to do the times i do in practice. Couldnt get a clear lap in 1st qualy and then the track went damp which ended qualy for me and i knew i could of gotten right up the top.

As you said Mark Jonzo it was a shame some one disco'd right in front of us coz i think you me and picnic would of had a really good scrap all the way.

I must learn how to handle the pit stops though lol.

Good race.

Thought I was not going to make it tonight. On way back from St Andrews and my roar car was playing up. The turbo is on it's last legs and has been letting a little oil go. The engine fired up an emissions warning and the car was on three cylinders. Managed to get it running ok for the next 70 miles but worried I have more than a new turbo to fork out for :(

Got in after 8pm and did not have any further practice. Surprised with my qualifying lap. Was sideways at 3 corners and hit the wall out of last chicane and still managed 1.31.7. Should have been easily quicker without the mistakes as I have been all week offline and online.

My set up for Tuesday night was grounding a bit, so decided to lift it tonight. Big mistake. Car was not a patch on Tuesday night.
Race was going steady and I was easing away from Jure.

Backo then caught me up gaining lots of time in traffic. It turned out to be a bit of a British touring car episode for the next few bends.

I had to try and make space through the first chicane(sorry I don't know name off top of head) as Backo had his nose only just inside my rear and no space for two of us through such a fast chicane. I ended up on the green and got a warning. Lost lead after too much paint swapping.

Made two stupid mistakes quick fire and got a stop and go.

Ended up in a race of my own after that.

You were in there a while - I was wondering what was going on.

My race was pretty dull - bar the start where me and SBG were running about equal until I cocked up.  Reign Man was behind me in the Viper which was quite fun, hed get on my bumper down the straights, and then I'd pull away.

After that I was running by myself for pretty much the whole race.  After the pit stop I was ahead of the rest of the GT2/GTC (courtesy of Gomez Silva's disco (unlucky) and SBG's problems (well if you will buy cheap kit ::) ;) ) ) and didn't put up a fight against the Vipers.

Still, big points for the Legends, and I think that's the champ now too?

A race of two halves for me. Started on mediums and gradually slipped backwards as the temperature dropped and the dark clouds gathered. The plan was to run until the tank was nearly dry, then pit for softs and a splash and make a sprint race out of the second stint, also hedging my bets against the possibility of rain.

Unfortunately the weather went the wrong way, getting colder during the first stint and then heating up again after my stop. The softs were a lot quicker and and I got within about 6 seconds of Picnic in 4th, but they went off big time with about 6 minutes to go and that was the end of my challenge.

A big thank you to everyone who I lapped, generous to a fault each and every one of you. Very good to see the front car in several two car battles allow me by in such a way as to resume their own battle too. 8)

Yep, one of my most enjoyable races in a long time.  Great Driving mate, relentless pressure.  I knew you were faster but there was no way you were getting the inside line.  :P

I was enjoying myself so much that I stayed out 5 laps past my scheduled stop.  I just didn't want it to end.  This was maybe a mistake as my tyres were screwed by that point and you eventually got by.  After I pitted I managed to put in a few fast laps (for me anyway  :P)  This was enough to just squeeze past FreQ while he was in the pits.  From then on is was a carbon copy of the first half.  FreQ was all over me, but again that inside line was me.  ;D  Great driving FreQ.  :thumbup1:

Then crossing the S/F line I saw you (pribeiro) leaving the pits.  I frantically tried to get my nose in front but just fell short.  I knew that was my chance gone and you would soon be off down the road, but at least there was still FreQ behind me.  ;D

I managed to keep him behind me for a few more laps, but it was only a matter of time.  Eventually FreQ got past after a poor exit to a corner after letting a GT1 guy past.  Great move mate.  :thumbup1:

Over the dying minutes I could see FreQ was struggling with his tyres, but I could never get close enough with the big boys lapping me every 10 seconds :D

Great racing guys.

Congrats to the class winners....

Started on 100L fuel and medium-medium, race went fine, pace was OK enough to pull out a lead on the cars behind me except for BACKO who came screaming down my neck so fast I've promptly let him go by to go catch Kerr (who was pulling away from me). Plan worked.  ;D

Long first stint should give me a short pit stop, but had a 57.smthn stop, came out 4th, someone else had to pit and I was back to 3rd, finishing some 15 seconds behind 2nd and some 30 seconds lead on 4th.

Great race tonight, enjoyed it a lot. Congrats to Backo and Kerr, great pace.

After race end I spun the car around at the back straight and went back to Estoril, hence DQ. Sorry for the inconvenience.  ::)

well, just watched the replay of my race, (only took a minute) and still have no idea what went wrong ???

only thing I can see is perhaps having to brake a little hard to try and avoid tailending the car in front and the fronts slipping sending me sideways into him instead....(sorry). how it managed to flip me and send me sailing though the air I will never know.

ah well, back to the practice board :(

congrats to the podiums,

Always enjoy Magny and tonight was no exception.
Received a huge shunt into Adelaide on lap 1 which re-arranged the Porsche's handling. Took a bit of getting used to but didn't slow it down too much at all. Then had a great scrap with Shark in the first stint, where I really had to be careful into Adelaide and Chateau d'Eau or he'd of nipped past. Sad to see you spin in the mirror as it was looking like a good scrap and I think you would have got past - I had 90L in the tank so you would have got me under braking somewhere.

...... Check last race where Mo won the GT3 class in the Porka, due to it's much better fueleconomy.
Yep I snuck one in but that was mainly due to it being at Oschers where the GT3 has every advantage. I actually ran out of fuel with 1 to go tonight LOL, and its not the first time. The porker is heavier on juice than you think - tonight I put in enough fuel for 90 mins and still ran out. The fuel calc is wrong imo.

I think on some tracks tyre wear is a bigger issue in the Viper - I think it was Dubai where I almost caught you and Shark in the Vipers because your tyres were shot. I drove a perfect race with no mistakes, and assuming you did too, then that makes them very equal on that track at least.
I think if you had driven the Gt3 you'd have beat me by a similar margin anyway, but at Oschers the Porsche is always going to win, and at Magny it'll be the Viper every time. Still it is nice to try and win on tactics but doesn't give much on track fun  :-\

Nice chase, Shark, as usual.  8)   I had soft fronts which proved to be a mistake. Were grabbing the track greatly at first but as the pace was hard they were losing grip higher than any of my training laps. So when I was on the limit their timespan went down and I made mistakes. Thanks for waiting the first time. At the second spin you were 15 seconds ahead and I wasn't in the mood for another hour of hotlapping. 'ware the next time.  ;D

Grats for the champ win, Legends!

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one then. The point is we're not racing each other ON track and the final outcome is completely meaningless as there is no GT3 championship so one of the main points in racing at all in GT3 is to battle against each other (that and practice of the track). I also don't believe the Porker is competitive compared the Viper CC at all. It was 2 seconds a lap down on race pace on the Viper CC, that can't be made up with better fuel ecomony. Oschers is a special track because of very low fuel consumption and no straights for the Viper CC, but everywhere else it was very inferior (but more fun :P). The Viper CC should be in the GTC class imho with a weight help (something for Season 6?)

Yeah strange that I'm usually poor on the brakes compared to most, but this time I was a lot better. I also like 180 corner (always one of my favorite corners as I like the back end first approach to braking and entering into it).

I probably could have pushed to catch you again but as I was scrapping with TT and it was too much fun so decided not to push up towards you and maybe be close in the 2nd half of the race.

Tonight I put in enough fuel for 90 mins and still ran out. The fuel calc is wrong imo.

I started with 84litres and had to top up to more than half of that at the pit stop too cause the fuel consumption was more than expected. I think I finished with just enough for one more lap.

'ware the next time.  ;D

I raced soft front / medium rear too cause the fronts just weren't getting hot enough and the rears were "enjoying themselves".  ;D Was the perfect combo for that track and car for me.

My fuel economy was higher than normal at both races so far at Magny.

I guess the different temperature had a bigger effect on my set up than raising the height. I ran mediums all round Tuesday and last night and they felt completely different cars. Could not brake as late, understeer a bit etc, so I guess so soft were the order of the day.

Watched replay and it's clear I'm still always losing too much time in traffic. After Backo got passed I could hold him, dropped a couple of seconds then started to really push and pulled right back in.

As soon as traffic was back in play I started losing ground and when a car came out the pit there was 4 of us trying to watch either other as not to collide. Ended up waiting on each other.

By that time I had already been served with a stop and go penalty, 2 poor bits of concentration and 1 I could do little about

Jure's position now corrected in results.

thx Gizmo, I apologise for any extra work I've caused.

made a mental note about it. you know... cross the line, hit escape, spin and ram cars offline only. :D
