I had missed it altogether until today. I for some reason thought next week and did not even notice the thread as nobody had posted and it was half way down the page.     If I had noticed earlier I might have taken the time off to race. Too late now.

Well I hope you all don't get much practice in and are very very rusty and slow :P

I've been practicing round here for the last three days and STILL can't get even a half decent lap time in. ::)

Sadly I'm not going to be making it - the little man's already puked all over me once this evening .... he's not a well little chap.  Although I could make the start of the race, the chances of not having to dash upstairs are slim.

Good luck you Legend types .... make it a fitting finale to the season.

what a complete shambles of a race that turned out for me  :'(

Suffered that infernal 'track feels completely different to all my hours of setup for it' syndrome this eve.

Offline i had done 1:42.9 qually and late 43 race but i couldnt get anywhere near that tonight. The car felt like a pile of crap with no grip in all the corners i had done a hundred times today  ??? I'd even used bloody motec on it to find some extra tenths. what a waste of time. ::)

didnt enjoy that at all, found it really frustrating. :(

Congrats to the winners.  :thumbup1:

43s! What wouldn't I give to be in the 43s! ::)

No setup time at all, car had good traction but front brakes were overheating and tyres were never really warm enough. Great scrap for a couple of laps keeping Paul Richards behind, and then Picnic. Dunno what happened to the next two cars up the road but I was nowhere near them at the start of the last lap, then reeling them in hand over fist towards the flag. Maybe the lapped car?

I need to do some serious testing before the weekend if I'm going to be anything but a moving chicane in the Clubmen Endurance!

I'm very suprised to have made the end of that race.

Qualified near the back as usual but felt reasonably confident that I could hold position barring major cockups.
First lap..major cockup... and at a corner I have not got wrong all the way through practice  ???

It put me to the back but only by 6 seconds or so so I started chasing...was making tiny amounts of progress when I noticed a bright red flashing light, somewhere in the region of my engine temp gauge...this was on the third or fourth lap!
I had forgotten to alter the rad opening after qualy, so I backed right off and tried to just keep running for as long as possible.

I think I managed to keep out of everyones way ok...didn't hear any swearing anyway

Had one dodgy moment with a lead car trying to overtake me through the chicane :o but we both managed to avoid any incident so no props here.

ooops nearly forgot.....well done podium...a good job done by all...and very well done Gazza...POINTS FOR TEAM PSEUDO. :-)

No idea how I managed 4th. I really don't feel comfortable at Imola, always completely on the edge and that stupid chicane after Aqua Minerale needs disposing of, it's bloomin' painful. Glad to be doing the next race in a slower class. I was on the back foot nearly the entire race trying to keep ahead of the guy behind, but I guess that's why we have the slogan on the rear bumper!!  8)

Well done Backo, Jeff and Zacari (Lister again! Nice1)

Oh my god that was bl**dy awesome lol, finally showed that i can run well with you guys and more importantly show you guys that i can!  Qualified 5th which i was gobsmacked by and even wasnt the best time i have done, so was just a matter of keeping my nerve in the race which i did for about 10 laps when i made small error and slipped to 6th, even so i was still in touch with the 5th place car (cant remember who it was) and had a good few laps on his bumper and one out braking move down the hill but couldnt quite pull it off (great racing though) then had Purdie i think on my ass for a while but managed to keep him behind untill 1 more silly error which let 2 by so was down to 8th. Kept plugging away at a good pace and was never more than 2-3 seconds off the 2 infront then someone blew up and suddenly i was back to 6th. Was hanging on a bit at the end, someone was catching me fast but held on for a great 6th place.

Im am soooo chuffed with this!!

Thanks to everyone in this league, its the best thing ive done finding it and hats off to everyone involved.

Congrats to the podium.

ps. im still shaking lol.

The end of GT1 season 5, and a big success for Team Shark  ;D.

Qually went quite well, in my last lap I was 0.4 up and I might have gotten pole, but I messed up at Revazza. But as showed, I couldn't keep up with Backo anyway in race  :D.

I started on meds allround as I suspected the fronts to wear out quickly (wear was 3 in just 1 qually lap  ::)). And the tires lasted fine, it's just that they never got to perfect temps and stayed around 77-80 degrees. I was hoping for my tires to outlast Backo's, but the gap was too big near the end.

Had some position changes with Bara at the beginning which was fun, but the only happened due to errors. That is the downside of this trac, almost impossible to overtake.

Again well done Zacari in the Lister. That gives me good hope as I'll be using the Lister at beracing.be against unballasted cars  ;D.

In the end very pleased with 2nd here, as the Viper is awefull at Imola, no place to stretch it's legs.

Grats Backo on a good show tonight  :thumbup2:

Well I hope that puts to bed the myth that all Sharks are aliens, a decidedly average showing today :P

Car felt awful all qualy & race, big understeer everywhere followed by snap oversteer added that this track is my least favourite and my setup knowledge is pretty awful (most of my teamates spent ages on TS trying to explain to me what dampers and rebounds do - I'm still not sure if higher pressures make the tyres hotter or cooler, lol)

Stuck behind Simon until a couple of mistakes lead Purdie very close to me, then spun twice at that b*st*rd chicane on successive laps putting me down to 12th or 13th. I knew that was it as I was going flat out to stay in 7th, but had a good battle with Jonzo and particularly Mark MCclean, gd racing :)

Annoyed to be down in 8th, but pleased to have got a few points and lucky to keep 2nd overall. Bara must have had a weird problem - very lucky for me as finally the equal performance thing we had going was smashed tonight. I was miles off!

Now corrected.

I don't know why people don't like Imola. It's not as good as it was in the up to 1994 era but it's still got great flow and some challenging corners. :)

and having said that it appears for some reason that Gazza49er isn't scoring any team points? :(

According to his driver history (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&driver=1276) page, he's only registered himself for team points in the Endurance Clubmen.

Congratulations on the championship win Jeff and to FreQ for 2nd making it a one-two for team shark with one of those sneaky Junior boys just clawing his way into 3rd in the last race.  :P A great result for Team Shark with the team title and well doneo to R24-7 and the Junior boys for the runners up ;) places.

Another testament to the ballasting pack with 4 different types of cars in the top 4 and no runaway winners.

A bit of a shambles that race for me too! Didn't have much practice at all. Managed to qualify 8th then nipped of for a quick wee in the warmup. Race start and as we pull away I realise I can't hear anything through the headphones. What I have done is managed to sit down on the long headphone cable and also moved the volume on the control. Picture me with feet still on pedals trying to lift my arse up with one hand steering while trying to fish the cable out with the other! ;D Eventually went off at Tosa but apologies to Purdie who was behind me for my erractic driving! While waiting for the field to go by I managed to sort myself out.

Got passed a few cars in the early laps and came up upon Dave in the vette. He was quick where he needed to be and I couldn't find a safe opportunity to pass. Eventually got a good run out of Variante Alta and with a bit of slipstream and 575 grunt was able to outbrake into Rivazza.

Had a few clear laps and then came up to MJ. He was quicker through certain corners but I had the edge down the straight. I was also overheating the rears a bit so once again couldn't find a safe place or get close enough to make a move. I had an coming together with a back marker but he had another incident so I was back up behind him in the last few laps.

That was me and MJ. I got a good run out of the final chicane just before the start off the last lap. I got alongside on the left at the starting lines but as the road kinks left after the start\finish we came together and both went off. I haven't seen the replay and I wasn't sure either at the time who was at fault so decided then to keep positions to the finish case it was me. MJ then spun at Variante Alta I guess dur to damage so I waited for him for the same reason.

Dave if its any help the only place I was significantly faster than you (apart from slightly under braking) was at the first left at Villeneuve. I could gain quite a few car lengths there although you were quick enough through the right corner after it to make any attempt into Tosa impossible.

Congrats to podium and Ruskus on the championship!

Yes, thanks Paul R, that was very decent of you at the race end after our coming together to allow me back through.
Not sure what happened with the high speed contact, i saw you had the run on me down the straight and so stayed over to the left as far as i could without changing line but then felt the nudge and went flying off into the barriers, must have been the kink that caused us to compress together. Racing incident as far as i can tell without seeing the replay.  :-\
And yes, my car was shaped like a 50 pence piece after that and even though i went through the chicance fairly gingerly, the car still span around, so again, thanks for letting me continue ahead. We had a worrying spell there where it was a case of 'after you, no after you'...and DG nearly caught up and nipped through ! ;D
Good clean racing otherwise.

I'm still mystified why my setups turned so pear shaped on the night...bet one of those shark scamps put peanut butter on my tyres again  ;)

This was a nice race. I found a really nice setup for my 575 which i'm hoping might work on other tracks!! It just felt on rails.

Once again tho in the race I wasnt driving as relaxed as in practice and kept overdoing it trying to stay with Jeff (Backo was long gone!) - got some warnings and then a stop/go. (Aqua Minerale Grrrr!).

I love Imola tho - nice track to push on when you get the flow right.

Sorry for the belated and minimal race report.
