The web server may be unavailable around the start of the race - see this post (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3255.msg54108#msg54108). It's not likely to cause significant problems but drivers would be well advised to ensure they've made a note of the password earlier in the evening.

No cup action for me tonight I'm afraid.

I will probably join the practice server later on to try out a few new cars for fun.

Well, it's a gd thing I'm getting a new PC soon....a CTD as the server went from Q2 to race....doh!  :'(
Was doubly galling as I'd just done a 1:41.6 to get p4 in Q2 - much better than the sprint 2 weeks ago.

All my bad luck this season has hit the endurance series:
Anderstorp: Away
Silverstone: Win!
Estoril: 2nd!
Dubai: Away
Enna: 4th
Oschers: Away
Magny: Away
Imola: CTD

Was leading it after rd 3, now it's in tatters  :-X

It always happens when u've actually spent a couple of hours practising doesn't it? Most races I do a 20 minute warm up and that's it - this time I did over 2 hours after my iffy performance in the sprint race. I think I'll go back to my "sod practise, do it all in the race" approach.

Gd luck Sharks  8)

PS: Please start S7 in like, October!!!!

Very rare computer freeze up for me. Hope no-one was following :'(

Going very well before that, up to 12 and keeping Jonzo at arms length. Could get to enjoy the 811.

GT1 and GT2 very courteous, thank you. Look liked GT boys were having some race  :)

Bad luck there Joss and the others that had discos too, always gutting when it's not your own fault.

I had a very comfortable win which I was not expecting cause I'm not that quick at Imola. I think it's a nice circuit, but I just don't like it with all the chicanes in. No Leuven and no Luis meant I took pole by a whole second and then cruised to victory in the race, even with an extra drive through the pit lane when my pit crew refused to get ready for 3 laps.  :-D It was doubly daft cause I probably could have gone the whole race on the same set of tyres and without extra fuel so I could have just stopped in the pit lane without a pit crew. :o  Anyway, made it fun chasing Priberio out of his 20 second lead, although I knew he still had to stop I put in my fastest laps hunting him down.

3 wins on the trot for me in Endurance GT2, but all too late to get any higher than third, although it consolidates the team title for the blue Sharks (well done Leuven and I!)

Well done to all the winners for this race and the season. I hope we get fuller grids next season cause although this has been fun there's not been enough competition in class for my liking.

yeah shame you DISCO'd SBG  :'(

Had a cracking race, taking the viper CC for the first time ever.  8)

Was going to take the porker but got so fed up of jumping off the track for everyone in qually and could get no rhythm going. With a few mins to spare, i thought sod it, i'll drive something different and just enjoy it.
Used the default setup with a few minor tweaks and it all worked great.

Really enjoyed driving the Viper cc around here, it felt superb through most of the track and handled the kerbs far better than the GT3. Had a good early battle with a couple of porkers, particularly Peter Arnutt? in his, who kept me honest for quite a while.
I found it really frustrating losing loads of time to the lapping cars, i know i wasnt obliged to jump out the way but it kinda felt like i could be ruining any Masters GT1 battles and so generally either dropped right off the pace or even moved onto the grass to let them through  :(
It saved DG's bacon, as everytime i closed up in the race, the blinking GT1's would come around and i'd drop back down another 3-5 seconds each time. A real shame as i was looking forward to closing on DG and having a titanic scrap until race end in his similar Viper.
Even when i closed at mid race to his bumper, he then dived into the pits for his stop...coward, hehe ;D ;)
The TS pit boys are obviously not on the sauce like the Legends mechanics as he emerged 14 seconds ahead of me after my stop a lap later...i blame Pops, he encourages liberal boozing in the garage  ::)
And then after getting the GT1 boys out the way (again) i got into 'the zone' ;) and set about chasing DG down once and for all, setting a series of 1:54/1:55 times to take about a second a lap out of him towards the end. I caught his ass for about the last lap or penultimate one? and we had a good fight around until the blasted chequered flag came down :fencing:
An epic finish, shame it didnt happen earlier in the race. I was even more disheartened when he said he only had 1 lap worth of fuel onboard  :o...curse that Backo and his amazing pace  ;) :D

Great fun and great driving by all, everyone was most courteous, its very intimidating when a GT1 flys up behind you on track but nobody forced an issue :thumbup1:

Congrats Ruskus and team Shark for GT1 champs win.
Congrats Leuven and team Shark(again, these fellows  ::) ) for GT2/GTC champs win.
Strange but funny race for me, started 17th ;D last of the GT2/GTC boys.
Things went well and after 5 or 6 laps, i was already at 3rd in class (nice fight again Darren)  ;)
A long 1st stint, allowed me to made my mandatory stop, right behind Simon,
when i left pits, i had Gomes in my rear bumper, two laps later Gomes overtook me, as he
was with a faster pace, so.......................i was in 3rd, 40 seconds behind Gomes and
20 seconds in front of Darren, i didnt know where Backo was, so in last lap i went to pit,
to add 5 litres of fuel  :-[ :o :'( and when i was leaving, i saw Backo and Darren pass away,
and my chief crew, saying...the race is over...bla...bla...bla  >:(
Why that stupid (fired meanwhile) didnt told me to wait a few seconds for Backo? :-X
Anyway, it was a cool and fun race, as usual   :D
Congrats for your  :alien: pace Simon, well done Gomes for your fast driving and Darren
for your consistent driving.
Btw, i stopped 2nd time because a stop/go and the 3rd time for the reason above ;D
Fantastic race again Backo, well done for your overall win :alien:
Thanks all for the fun evenings

Cheers

After qually I thought my first venture in GT3 could be fun but both Dave and Jonzo had obviously been sand bagging in qually and the vipers blew passed me and that was that. After then it was just watch the gap get larger and try and stay out of the way for those in real competition. At one stage in qually SbG stormed passed me in his GT3 Porka so hopefully I was so slow due to a substandard setup ;) That'll help me sleep tonight at any rate  ;D

I'll probably be racing as Peter Allnutt from now on as having one profile makes life easier and R2P dictate you use your real name.

Major  :thumbup2: to the guys who moderate, schedule the events and work behind the scenes. Another successful 4 series season has been completed and the racing and sportsmanship are generally top notch. I hope I will have the pleasure of racing you all again in S6 :)

I wish I knew why I'm so utterly pants at qualifying - I always seem to start 3 or more places behind my proper race pace. ???

Once the race got underway it was pretty easy to pick my way past Picnic's GT3 Cup using the Viper's truck engine - though he made me work for it for a couple of corners until I stretched out a few car lengths gap.

After that I could almost but not quite peg the gap to SbG's 911, but knew he would probably be able to pit for just tyres, whereas I would need 60 or more litres of fuel too. By mid distance my tyres were really starting to go off and I decided to pit a couple of laps ahead of schedule, knowing that SbG had already pitted, in order to avoid losing track position to MJ's colourful Leg Ends VCC on my worn tyres.

Almost missed my pit box, which I'd forgotten was outside the first garage, but just got in and my crew did their usual slick job, spending an extra 5 seconds to repair some mystery damage. Added 5 litres more than planned given my early stop and took on more hard rears and medium fronts. Came out to find myself 40 seconds behind SbG and only about 20 ahead of Picnic/MJ behind.

Kept pushing pretty hard - car felt good and slow, slowly the gap ahead was coming down... 30 seconds... 20 seconds... 16... then... SbG's car stationary just before Variante Bassa. A disco! Terrible bad luck, and not the way I wanted to get the GT3 lead - especially not as it was looking increasingly like I might just catch you before the end. :-\ I called it to the other Sharks over TeamSpeak so it didn't come as a complete surprise.

After that I backed off a fraction, but with 15 or so minutes to go it was obvious that MJ was starting to catch me at nearly a second a lap... With my tyres starting to go off again, time looked to be just about on my side... but with 4 minutes to go my fuel was getting low and I was getting really concerned about whether I would make it to the flag, so I started short shifting and taking corners one gear higher than normal. With 2 minutes to go MJ was right on my tail; I was using 3.5 litres a lap and had just 7 left - I needed the leader to lap us on this lap to avoid finishing on fumes... and thank goodness Backo appeared like a red and black angel to release me to use all my V10 again to stay ahead to the flag. ;D

A good way to end Season 5... pity it was at Ginsters' undeserved expense.

Congrats to the winners and to UKGTR for a very entertaining championship with very nice fights.  ;D
I was looking forward to racing at Imola since day 1 but today all the family was celebrating my 6 years old son birthday and I surely wouldn't trade that for anything else. ;)

I'm already waiting for Season 6 which I believe will be (again) a great championship...although with some other names in the first place  :D

That was a hard end to the season, massively annoying to have FreQ get a disco as it looked like it would've been a great battle on the track. :(  Managed a mid-41 in quali to get 3rd, which in the Lister I was very happy with ;D

The race was not quite as positive, I started on soft fronts and medium rears and after 10 laps the balance was not good.  I came into the pits a couple of laps early to change to med fronts but they were at the wrong pressure and never got hot enough, so I spent most of the race battling the car.  What I'd also neglected to change was the fuel amount in my stop, and going into the last lap I had '0' laps of fuel left (less than 3L :o) but I managed to roll round most of the lap to finish with 0.6L

Grats to JR on the championship, and TS on the team title.. narrowly followed by TS Junior ;D woot!

Also apologies to a couple of the NGT guys for squeezing through under braking a couple of times :-[ normally I'm a little more patient!  Everyone was generally super-cooperative :) 8)

Thx for the apology Jeff. Not sure that was necessarily your fault anyway. That certainly wasn't the way I wanted to end the season, especially having qualified 2nd, but it rather sums up the whole season. Had a bit of fun trying to catch up, but passing GT1s at Imola is very tricky and my bad mood made me overdrive the car. Not sure whether I want another season like that.
