Had a little go earlier and found it fun. The Elise is easy to drive if suffering with a little too much understeer.

I was surprised at how that little thing melts tyres though. It does not help the vast majority of corners are right hand and it knocks the stuffing out of the left tyres.

What times are people getting? After a few laps I'm consistently in mid 1.13's don't know if that is OK or not? I'm sure after another couple of tweaks I can hopefully find another few tenths

Race 1 went decent, ended up where I expected.

Race 2 went to the toilet, a stupid spin crashing me into the barrier before the pits. Suspension was pretty much done for, and pitted in after one more lap.

Fun racing in the Elise, although I don't know how you guys were running the low lap times you were, I could hardly get a 1:14 out of the car, I can't even think of where to start to shave off 3 more seconds.

Can't get to grips with the Elise, way too much understeer.

First race I came 4th after picking up the scraps.

After the race I adjusted my tyre pressures as they were too low. Set them in accordance to first race and they ended up way too high in the second. Must have been warmer.

I have to apologise to Darren and anyone else caught out by my spin. The back end stepped of after first series of bends on the bump and I just could not catch the back end. Sorry.

Car was underivable towards the end or race and made mistake after mistake taking me way down the field

First time in the Lotus since GTR1 for me. Gotta say they are less tricky than they use to be, but still idiosyncratic beasts :)

Good fun in both races with pretty much the same old faces. Congrats to Darren who was prolly best of us human lot and thx to Tinman, Brian and John for good, clean close stuff. Sorry to PR for getting so excited when Darren and Brian spun that I span in sympathy, don't think I held you up.

Shame about lowish turnout (quality over quantity of course ;)) but its not easy racing 3 nights on the trot for some. Congrats to Carl, Backo and the freaky Ruskus. Hopefully my hobnails boots to the shins and 1tonne of ballast should see you midfield ;)

In practice I was driving around with +15 kg and I could see me doing 1:11's. So the shock was pretty big when I say I'll be getting +50kg...in an Elise :o. Viper with extra weight is okay, but this little thing's weight almost doubled by it  ;D.

So I was very happy with my qualification for race 1, 3rd place. I had a very good start and got alongside Backo, on the outside. He had a better line for T1 and kept 2nd, and Carl 1st. They were both quicker than me, and I couldn't attack. Was very lucky when Backo made a mistake and I got into 2nd. Still had small hope of winning, as Zacari was driving on softs by mistake. But he held it perfectly and I had to settle for 2nd.

In the 2nd race I also had a very good start, winning few places after a few hundred metres. After T1 I was from 13th to 5th, behind Darren. He held me up a little but I could draft past him before T1 and we were side by side in T1 and T2. Due to the extra weight, I was running wing 1-1, which was giving me too much understeer, but a nice topspeed.
After that I was behind PR and we had a very good battle for a few laps. My low wing prevented him from passing me on the straight, and in the corners it was a matter of keeping close to the apex.
Backo was very consistent and kept it for the win.

Grats Zacari for race 1 win and Backo for the race 2 win.

Hope we have VERY powerfull cars for the next race, as the weight will get too much. What is the limit for the weight?

That's ok Brian, it happens.  I tried my best to avoid you but you were too fast ;)

Good driving though, I really enjoyed our little battle...

Congrats to Darren who was prolly best of us human lot

I'm not so sure about that, but thanks anyway.  I was useless in the first race, but I have my team mate to blame for that.  Put in 50L of fuel he says ;)

Finished with 28L  ::)

Won't be listening to him again.  ;D

A bit of a mixed bag from me.

Quali was fine, with BACKO stealing pole by .001s ::) but it was still front row.  I managed to nail the start and got into T1 in the lead ;D and after that I steadily pulled out a small gap.  Around lap 3 I realised I'd not put mediums back on after quali, and my front-left tyre was around 120-130 degrees :o :(  The tyres held their own though and I won by about 5s in the end :)

Race 2 was always going to be interesting starting from the back, I changed to mediums though that may have been my biggest mistake.  I got off the grid a little slow but I managed to get into T1 in a reasonable position, then got smacked by someone and somehow I managed to hold it on the grass.  A close couple of laps had me 2 or 3 places behind Jeff around 7th.  After fighting passed Kerr and Darren (I think), I was chasing down Jeff, 7s behind BACKO the leader, when I got sideways under braking and took a big trip across the grass.  Rejoined on the outside of Sabadell and ended up doing a slightly silly move under braking into T1 on John (apologies :-[ though I did make the inside apex somehow :D) but it was immaterial as I binned it into the tyres less than half a lap later :(  Looking back on it I have a feeling the damage I got from the first lap was why the car was so twitchy rather than the medium tyres, though I should've still been a bit more careful trying to catch the leaders.

Well done to JR and BACKO on some good racing, and everyone who turned up- whould be good to see a couple more next week 8)

Replays, results and standings in all the normal places....There has been an ooooopie with the result of the second race...as you can see it is showing double entries of all drivers. This will be fixed as soon as I find out how ??? :-[

It was hard work that little car...glad it wasn't an endurance race :o

Enjoyed it though even with not being able to do a lap within 2 seconds of my praccy times ???

Next week at Donington is going to be fun. Well done all tonight and Grats to winners and podiums.

Sorry my mistake...I looked at the 'forthcoming' bit and only saw Donni.  Adria it is then....but dont worry, I would assume since first race was in the vipers, and last night in the elise, that we are going to have one of the two German Go-Karts here anyway :D

Well, its not my fave either (after 10 laps pracci ;) ). Not promising anything, but how does everbody else feel? Please bear in mind its the 811's turn for an outing, no matter which track we use, and we originally wanted to follow schedule of main comps to avoid having to learn a new track every week.

I would be ok with a change of venue....dont like adria much and we have 4 races there in the next couple of weeks. As long as we choose a 'well known' track....probably something used in season 5 that is still reasonably fresh in peoples minds. I don't  have a lot of time to learn too many new tracks in a week ;)

Thanks to all those who span, crashed and generally demolished their Elises in order to help me gain a podium.  Not sure how long it will last though as I gave Psuedo a bit of a love tap in T1, but seeing as we were both already off the track it may slip by unnoticed  ;D

Both those races, especially race 2 were just about as much fun as you can have in front of a computer.  For me the racing was close throughout, the battles fair and lengthy, I adore this track, reminds me of spa for some reason, with that sandy chicane as a mini eau rouge perhaps  :-\
The elise is a great little car and I managed to sucessfully defend 3rd from PRibeiro, which was the best bit of all

Well yes I had made a fubar start and tapped SBG so waited for him to rejoin  :'( , then tried to beat Baracus and build loads of sandcastles  :P , but then just went for it, a few people in font slid off and saw you and SBG scrapping up ahead so tried my best to close in on you both, and as you said, made it by a whisker, didn't you see me waving at you through my side window??  :D .

And the first race was a blast , I just couldn't go much quicker and catch Ruskus by a meaningful amount towards the end, .1 or .2 was the best I could do , still thoroughly enjoyable set of races, this series rocks!! Lets hope it's a permanent fixture!

Quallied much better than expected but could not match my times in praccy of late 112's.  First three quarters of the first race went fine and then a lot of little errors crept in which resulted in me falling further and further down the grid.

The last quarter was very dissappointing for me as I rear ended Pribeiro at t1 and was totally gutted.  Waited like forever for him to catch back up and lost loads of places which was entirely my fault. (many many appologies pr will submit report).

Race 2, even more of a mare.  Started in pole due to early finishers and made a right balls up of t1 again and ended up 2 from last.  At the uphill right hander hit the dip and was thrown on to the gravel, I got totally frustrated and did reached for the escape button again(what a t**t).  Next race I think I will put the keyboard out of arms reach.

Grats to podiums.  see you all next time if my misses doesn't throw the pc out after all the time lately I am spending on it.

Actually she mentioned to me this week that I spend more time with Madd than I do with her(work and online racing) nothing else I must add.

It's not worth mentioning John IMO...I was already on the grass taking avoiding action myself, you just helped me along a bit ;) and even I, (being such an Incident Ogre ) can't expect folk to stop or manouver on the green stuff.  ;D  So don't worry, unless someone else reports you for anything your podium is safe.
