If I can I'll be racing this in an Elise. Just so that you know who the back-marker is.  ;D

The Elise is classified as G3 so you are out of luck. GTC & GT2's only.

You can check the classifications on this page;

I suppose this is a rolling start? And does anyone have a Sugo setup for the 350Z?

Yes, and yes. My setup from Sunday night is availble via the game's online files - look for "Gizmo 350Z R". Qually setup is basically the same with less go juice.

Thanks Gizmo. I just hope the setup doesn't come with the loss of all manufacturers points and a $100million fine!

I will be here tonight. Hopefully since sky have altered my connection I'm not going to suffer another disco. I should be light tonight as got a disco at the last round whilst leading.  Not had a lap in the 911 yet, so not sure what to expect.

Sorry not gonna make it tonight. Been ill over the weekend, hence my non-participation in Sundays enduro, and its still lingering.

Good luck to all tonight, c u at Zhuhai.

So there's a race at the front to be first, and theres a race as to who can be last. Sadly i'll be participating far more in the latter!

This is going to be a nightmare for traffic! please be patient everyone.

 :-[

Only just got home (I should normally finish at 4.30pm) ... so no praccy for me.  Also forgot my missus had a funeral to attend today (another old friend of her family) after her gran died on yesterday.  Given the 48 hours she's had racing's a no-no anyway, so the lack of praccy counts for nought anyway.

I'm not happy at missing it, and basically giving up the chance of a podium finish in the champ, not to mention not being able to help the boys, but ultimately other things have to come first.

Hope you have a good race all.  (Well good luck Legends, everyone else I hope you blow your engines! ;D)

quali was good, but race was awful.
kept on getting bad lag in 1st sector.
Had to keep slowing right down cause i didnt know where i was going to end up.
Then i came across someones car on the exit to the chicane in 1st sector.
They obviously Disco'd and i went straight into it and off the track.
I couldnt avoid it due to the lag, didnt see it until i had no where to go.

Totally lost interest after a couple of off's caused by avoiding others that didn't seem to be having a very good time of it either.

Looks like a black page in the pink book  :P.

Qually started good, as it was Team Shark 1-2-3, but with a few minutes to go John, Dan and BACKO got in between us.

Dan was a real gentleman to test the armco and give me his spot in the formation lap  ;D.

First few laps were a sturggle on medium all rounds, 70L of fuel and +60kg(+15kg). Still I was surprised to outbrake some cars in T1.
Could only follow cars around and overtake if they made a mistake.
That's how I overtook Jon, and I had to push hard to keep him behind.
I also had some fun moments with Purdie, who liked to overtake me so much that he actually went off a few times just to overtake me again ;D
In the end I had Dan behind me and he was creeping up. It was gonna be tight after the last corner, as I really struggled there, so the finish was pretty close.

Grats Brian and Simon on the class(y) win.

Wow that was a great race.

I knew before the race I had a chance of winning my class after my off-line practice times showed me to be ahead of the Endurance pole time. With my negative ballast after throwing away the previous race lead it was now or never to grab that race win. :)

Qualifying was electric, managing to get a lap time in the very late 1:27s I thought I had that in the bag only for John to pip me in the last minute! Great lap time John. So 2nd in class and something like 7th overall I was really in the mix with the tightly packed grid of GT2s (also know as Porsches ;)). Nice easy start and in no time we had all lapped Tibernius in the gravel :P  :-*. The start of the race was basically an exercise in not throwing it off, warming up the medium tyres and not letting anyone by. Had a great battle or three with SBG and Purdie who was my buffer to Jeff in the next GTC. Fortunately for me John up ahead had some difficulties trying to drive on two wheels and I had the class lead.

Can't remember when, but at some point I got past SBG. I don't even remember how it was just a blur of frenetic action. Then he had a battle with Purdie for a bit which gave me a couple of seconds breathing space. With 10 minutes to go I could see SBG was on his own behind me. I started thinking about the win and looking in my mirrors too much. SBG slowly got up to my car and I just held him off to the flag after he put me under real pressure for 4th. Thanks for the racing SBG, it was really enjoyable.

I don't know what it is about Sugo, but it's just one of those circuits I seem to click with. Others like Imola I will never get on with, but here I was pleased to take advantage of seemingly being good around Sugo. I was helped by somehow once again managing to create a demon Morgan setup that was both fast and stable and that really really helped. The Morgan seemed to have the right balance of grunt out of all the slow corners and great handling feel to keep it steady, especially over those door wedges they call curbs.

Ballast here we come!  ;D

Well done to Brian on the stellar times he set in that RSR and for once having luck on his side as his connection held firm and he took the win.

A better night for me tonight.

After Sunday I was looking for a good result tonight. I have finally managed to get the hang of this track and managed to master 2 great set ups for the Lambo and 911.

I'm glad my connection held up tonight. Hopefully the changes that sky have made have sorted my problems. Nothing worse than putting in practice, then having a good race only to be undone by a disco.

Qualifying went well for me. Was probably trying way too hard to set a really fast time and made too many mistakes. Was very surprised to find myself over 1.2secs quicker than second place.

Race started very well. Managed to gain a good lead after first lap and that allowed me to find a steady pace without taking any risks.

No problems with backmarkers tonight. Either they were so far off the track in the gravel I could pass easily, or I had enough time to sit back and wait until the next straight.

Congrats to podium in all classes, I missed finishing positions as phone went the second the race ended.

Well that was a mixed bag, quality wise :)

Some of the driving in quali was a ruddy disgrace >:( Lost count of the times I was either bulked by people on their outlap (even one plonker straight from pit lane ffs), had to avoid people rejoining any which way and those driving way to fast for their talents. Thx to those hoot toots my quali was at least half a second of what I should have done cause I got seriously wound up (silly really). However, that was just not good enough.

Forget that shambles, the quality of those I battled in race was great ;D. I was trying to calm down for first few laps and then I was struck by double shifts thanks to my wheel slipping (prolly when I beat my desk during quali ;D) . Fiddling around with that on main straight, looked up and got fixated on Shark in my rear view mirror into T1. Made a right horlicks of it but somehow managed to avoid both Shark and Purdie (exciting moment that chaps). Finally got me wheel to behave and very slowly caught up with Shark and had a fantastic dice with him for last 10 minutes which more than made up for quali. He drove superbly and my faith is now restored :)

Could have perhaps gained a place with a better quali but can't be to upset to finish there ;D. Congrats to podium and Shark for his win.

As usual I must thank Shark for sorting me a out setup. Just 2 secs quicker than my effort on Sunday! Still made too many mistakes, especially on power out of the corners. Sorry Dan for taking you out in qually as you were kindly letting me past.

I still don't really like this track, seems the difference in grip between the tracks definition of a racing line and off it is huge. Still I'm chuffed to bits with being on the pace, even if others have more ballast ;)

That is exactly why I race with you guys :D
Some really close and hard but fair battles with Mark M, Peter Allnut and Dave (side by side recovery action!). Sorry to Mark for knocking you off :(

Knew I should have gone with my instincts and taken hard rears, but I thought about it too long and applied 'my' logic, and went meds all round. The rears were cooking straight away so it turned into a tyre management race for me which was kinda cool. At least it helped me not push too much.

I realised too late that I didnt have to brake as much as I was in certain places and was really getting into a nice groove so cold have done with some more laps of that! Quite a nice flow to this track I reckon.

Whoohoo !  well chuffed with 3rd, had a great race.  8)

Qually went very well despite not matching my PB. Was in 2nd place for almost the entire session, then Paul Richards jumped in front with a few mins left. I immediately went out and was on a faster lap, -0.5 secs in the final sector only for me to somehow lose it in final 2 turns and finish the lap .01 down ???, otherwise would have nabbed 2nd place. :'(
Then to add insult to injury John appeared out of nowhere in his Morgan and grabbed 3rd place, the cheeky swine  :taz:
I sat on the grid thinking that a GTC in front of me was going to seriously scupper any assault on Paul R and thankfully i was able to safely outbreak him on the first flying lap down at the end of the first straight. 8)
I then spent the first 15-20 mins glued to Paul Richards Fezza ass hoping that he would make an error but he was super-consistent and i could only keep close as possible for lap after lap enjoying some great racing. With nearly 20 mins gone, I nearly had a moment following him too closely in sector 3 and got two wheels up on those slippery bast high kerbs. :o
Luckily i kept my wits about me and just backed right off and stayed straight, if i had turned the wheel it would have spat me off into a spin. Alas it gave Paul a 4 second breather as i lost all momentum before that titanic final turn.
He then kept that gap constant through the rest of the entire race until the final couple of laps where it went down to about 2 seconds and i brought it home for a well deserved podium slot.

Backmarkers were ace tonight, though Tibs was scaring the crap outta me with his off-road excursions! But he moved nicely over whenever i lapped him, thanks.

Congrats to Paul R for a great race and a well deserved 2nd place and accolades galore to Brian who was on another planet this eve with his amazing 1:26 qual pace :o  God knows where you found a whole extra second over us?, i thought my Porker setup pretty spot on but you must have come up with something super-clever !  :notworthy:

Before an event you see the records for all classes for the relevant sim at the circuit. After the race you only see any records set during the event - the complete list of records is on the circuit's own page.

Enjoyed that race in a frustrating and unsatisfying sort of a way. I knew I wasn't going to do as well as I did on Sunday as sprint racing has never been my forté but when I dipped into the 28s in qualifying and still ended up near the back I knew I was going to struggle.

Took it easy on my softs for the first racing lap and the guys ahead started to slip away, but once the tyre temperates stabilised I began clawing my way back up towards them. Mostly passed people as they made mistakes - had some wheel to wheel stuff with Pops and held TT's GT2 Ferrari off for what seemed like an eternity until his tyres went away and he came under pressure from Mark McClean.

By the end my front left was shot and I found myself not quite able to mount a challenge to Picnic's Morgan despite his car (or his concentration) looking in worse shape than mine, and had to withstand tremendous pressure from Mark's Mosler for the last couple of laps until he had some sort of coming together with Pops (I think) at the end of the long back straight when I had to check up dramatically as Picnic ran wide.

The top two GTC championship spots appear to be settled and my chance of nabbing 3rd off Shark pretty much needs him to miss the next race - not very likely, and mathematically I could still lose 4th to anyone all the way down to Darren in 8th, with Backo in with a real shout of snatching it if he can finish the next race. :o

I'm not sure what to feel about that race. On one hand there was some really brilliant close racing but on the other hand I feel like I was robbed of what could have been a classic.

A few tweaks to the Vertigo and a whole load of extra experience from Sunday saw me qualify over a second faster than the Endurance race.

I knew my race pace was nearly 1s quicker too so I was looking forward to seeing if I could hold off Dave behind me and whether I could mount a challenge on Pete or Paul968 in front.

On lap 3 though I got a nudge into the gravel from a GT2 (it was me Baracus, not Mark) so I immediately lost my place to Dave which was immensely frustrating after putting in my 2nd best lap ever in qualifying. We then had a very interesting stint where Dave was very consistent but I think I was very marginally faster over the lap and I was inching closer. Fantastic racing to be so close in laptimes.

Truetom then out-dragged me and got between us which disrupted the flow of the racing. It was really difficult sitting behind him with his controller problems so I lost a bit more time. Truetom then made a mistake which meant I had to brake heavily and this allowed Mark MacClean to close up and out-drag me.

I was all over the Mark MacClean / Dave / Picnic tussle until 4 corners from the end of the race when Mark braked a bit late and ran wide and I sneaked up the inside only for contact (again sending me into the gravel) when Mark oversteered trying to correct his mistake :(

A pretty disappointing result in the end, I don't think I've driven any better in many races in my SRouk career :-\

:( I think I'll drop out of the GTR2 races for a while, I know I can do better than that.
My first lap of the track was in qually, never driven it before.
The setup for the 350Z was brilliant, but it can't correct one problem: the driver.

Gizmo: I didn't get the PM until this morning, otherwise I would have dropped out. You're right, all I did in the race was pose a threat to the other drivers.

I'll stick to GTL, I can at least control the cars in that.

As they say in baseball: Just wait 'til next year!

I knew this was going to be an uphill struggle as soon as I went out on track after joining the server. I was still in Morgan driving mode from Sunday, and not driving the RS since then was clearly a major mistake. I was far too unsubtle with the throttle (which is fine in the Morgan), which made the car rather ragged, so it took me untill quite late in qual to get a decent-ish lap time in. Even then it wasn't great or near my offline times last week, so I started well down the grid behind Pete.

In the race I hung on to his Morgan quite well as my rustiness went away, and managed to make a move down the inside into T1. This left me chasing Dan in his RS, who was struggling in some places but never the ones which gave me a chance to pass. I was close behind many times entering the straights, but the ballast nullified any advantage so I had to wait and hope for a big mistake. It never came though (nice driving Dan  :)) and in the end my soft front tyres started to go off, making me more worried by the cars behind so I settled for 4th. Not fantastic but enough to guarantee 2nd in the championship behind Ruskus, who had another impressive drive with max ballast to cement his 1st place. Congrats to Simon on a dominant win - I agree the Morgan is good round Sugo, mainly because you feel you can push over the curbs and not be flung off, which is a constant risk in the RS. Well done to Brian in his rocketship RSR - great pace. I must say well done too to PaulR, who now looks favourite to win GT2, and to SBG for backing him up and making the team title look a distinct possibility too  :thumbup1:

Gizmo: I didn't get the PM until this morning, otherwise I would have dropped out.

I didn't send it until this morning. As it happens you did a pretty good job staying out the way but you're not doing yourself any favours racing before you're ready. ;)

Well i had never even heard of this place never mind driven it up until 7.30pm last night! It was good fun but even during the race I was learning new lines and I could still never quite master that corner at the end of the straight  :-\

Quali'd 8th which I was really happy with but amazed at Kerr's stunning pole time, thumbs up mate, a class performance all round  :thumbup2:

I only had 5kg ballast so no excuse there really. I had soft/meds on for the race like I did at hock which went well for me but here they deteriorated like crazy! Was having a good battle at the beginning with SbG and Simon, just hanging on to the back of them. Definitely tricky to overtake here, had a go at Simon but he covered the line really effectively. With the tyres dying at the half way mark I made a mistake and dropped back a few poistions to have some fun with Ruskus! With his 60kg he just couldn't brake late into the first corner so got him there, then I made a mistake, then I got him into the first corner again, then I made another mistake and my front left tyre was worn to 27?!!!!  :-X loolllll good bit of fun tho and glad my woes didn't ruin anyone's race  :)

great racing as always!!!! grats to Kerr and Simon with the fastest Morgan in the world!  ;D

Seems like I spoiled the race of my Team Leader.  :-[  Point is, the wheel was acting unpredictably and noticably worse than in Sunday. I was trying (what else was I gonna do?  :( ) as when it was functioning ok I closed on DG, then he went off again, made a gap of two seconds, then I could get closer again, etc. When I saw I was really an obstacle I quit in disgust and just cruised after the group. Sorry, Pops.  :(  I plan to get my new wheel today after I finish working.

TT

Cheers guys for the comments. It was just one of those nights for me. I was worried about rear left tyre as could not keep temperature down. With minutes of practice to go, a little tweak here and there and problem solved.          The car felt glued to road and inspired confidence. Other than once out braking myself a little, I don't remember even a wobble.Tyre wear was very low and temperatures right on the mark. It rode the kerbs very well and was really easy to drive. I will use this as my base set up from now on.

Another tough race at Sugo. Qualifying was very strange as my car felt completely different to any other session I had done in it before. Was really struggling to get anywhere near what time I thought I could set which was maybe sneak into the 26s. Was lying in 5th for a lot of the session but it was close between 2-5 at the time so was hoping a leapfrog into second was possible! I eventually strung a good lap in and although wasn't massively better jumped me up to second. John then pipped MJ for third.

At the start of the race I could see that baracus was quite a way down so I was thinking more about the championship right from the off. With John nipping into third I thought I might get a bit of breathing space but MJ passed quickly and was pushing me straight away. Brian was in a different class and was heading off down the road so just tried to keep it consistant and hold MJ off. It was a great dice mate  ;D really enjoyed that. He unfortunately ran wide in the final sector, did well to keep it from spinning but lost 4 seconds. With Brian still dissappearing I decided then to go steady as this track can easily spit you into the armco. At this point I had more to lose than gain then attempting to chase him down which would have been futile anyway! With one eye on the gap back to MJ I bought it home second.

Congrats to Brian on his fantastic win and hopefully the end of his connection problems and to Simon on the GTC win. Thanks to the all the drivers who let me by while lapping as it is not easy at some sections in this track. Looking forward to the final race showdown at Zhuhai its going to be a close run thing I reckon.

your turning out to be my new nemesis on track Paul R ! Been quite a few races this season where we have been in direct battle on track, which i really enjoy as it simulates the classic Ferrari v Porsche real-life on-track battles  8)
Unfortunately you usually get the better of me  :-[

great fun all the same, great driving mate.  8)

I had good fun at the back of the grid. Managed to pass a few and with others making errors, I went from 26 to 18 place.

I was starting to improve my pace, and catch the cars in front when my rear wheels locked and I went for a trip into the last bend gravel. Took me a little while to work out the engine had blown.  :(

My set up felt good round the twisty stuff but I recon iam 1 second slower just in the last bend.
