Celtic is the 4th, Liverpool is the 11th.

I think Celtic's group finishes the week before because AC Milan are involved in the world club championship.

You are from Slovenia are you not?

yes I am. why for Juve? well Brian, have you ever seen Slovenian football clubs play? all the clubs suck bigtime & national team is a disaster (it had some "successes" in the past, mostly due to high motivation and... anti-football, no creativity and technical knowledge at all, all they did was breaking opponents game and had loads of luck too). anyway, I never was a fan of anything just because he/she/they are "ours". once u get rid of that, you enjoy sports even more and if you must cheer for someone - cheer for the underdog, it's a proper thing to do. ;)

(but... still... can't... help... myself...choking sounds.... forza Juve... drop dead AC Milan  ;D )

football is an absolute thing imho and let's face it, the best team ever is still 1998 French national team. was cheering for others, but man they could play, even a 10 year old on nintendo console could not achieve such a smooth play. awesome.

so... how about that Sugo, a?  ;D

@Psuedo: who's "we"?

No, never heard of it. What's it famous for? (keep it clean please ;))

As always, this GT1 race should be fun. Regretfully I've been sacked by team Chevie, they say I'm cwap and I say its politics, and will join the ranks of Lister drivers for this one.

Did you not see the Grimsby team of 1998? ;)
Hardly anyone in history can claim to have reached two Finals at Wembley in one season.  :P

How quickly the mighty have fallen. Nowadays, a good season for us is making it into round 2 of any of the cups and trying to scrape mid-table in League 2 (Division 4 as real people still call it!).

Anyway, I think I'll be racing the Lister again so I don't have to do another setup as my last one was great for this track. Tempted to try the Lambo though as it should be a great car round here in Sprint.

P.S. Is there still a 20% points deduction if you swap cars more than once?

Crikey just seen that. France 98 best team ever ??? I'd say thats not even the best ever French team for gawds sake. How can you compare Deschamps, Pettit and Viera to Platini, Giresse, Fernández and Tigana? Alright I left out Zidane for the sake of my argument but he, and Henry maybe, are the only ones who could get in the 84 side. And the Brazil of 70, AC Milan teams of 80/90's (Baresi era) and Grimsby team of 1998 were no mugs ;)

Pseudo, I think you'll find they play soccer at Old Trafford ;)

WHAT? There's ANOTHER team in Manchester ??  ???

The only reason local folk don't attend is they can't get in coz the place is full of southerners with no team of their own worth watching.  :-*

Lambo for me tonight....if I ever get a setup ready that manages a faster time than the Vcc in the wet ::)

1st and foremost I'd like to apologies to sbg for the 2 incidents.
The 1st one you took me by surprise by how much you slowed.
I take it traction was a problem.
And the 2nd i thought I'd try and make a stab at it as you lost speed coming off the grass, but decided i wasn't going to make it and slammed on the brakes. But i reacted to late.
Big apologies.
Made another mistake towards the end of the race and lost speed,Gazza was closed right up on me,i tried to let him passed, but due to a serious loss of speed,i couldn't get out of the way quick enough.
Sorry mate.
Decided to press escape as i felt i didn't deserve to finish.
Grats to roadrunner.

Quite suprised about that...pace wasnt owt spectacular in GT2 races, so i thought it`d be more of the same here.. pole was a suprise, but then knew i was pretty handy on cold tyres, so had to make a break for it in first 2-3 laps, then hope for the best after that, but i still managed to pull away by a little or more every lap  :)..Spun with 10 mins left, but had enough of a cushion not to worry to much, but it took last outta me tyres, so just cruised on home  ;D

Well done RR, great race pace.

I thought I was going to qualify on the front row despite the little bit of ballast, but with a few minutes to go I rapidly dropped down to 5th. Still not too shabby and still hope of a podium. First couple of laps was basically all about pressurising Gazza. It didn't take me long to get by, but I'd already lost 4 seconds to the guys ins 2nd and 3rd (SBG and John). I set about catching them and looked like I could getting it down to 1 second, but then they started to pull away and I thought that was that. Gap then went back up to 4 seconds as I had some untidy laps and then followed by some tidy laps I caught them up again, about 1.5 seconds behind. Then just as they came onto the back straight there was an incident and in the tyre smoke I sneaked by on the left and never looked back. RR was already 12 seconds up the road and still pulling away so I just drove my own race to the end. Had some trouble near the end with what seemed like a dodgy phase of the tyres, but they then seemed to stablise and I just had a big enough gap to finish about 4 seconds ahead of team mate FreQ to make it a good team result.

Yeahayyyyy....I actually got to finish a race at Sugo... ;D

Very enjoyable that....can't understand why it's so poorly attended....some great racing. ???

Managed to sneak a few tenths on a final flying lap in qually and pinched a couple of places with a pb.  8)

Start didn't go too well, the car ahead of me never pulled off the grid and I had already moved up behind him so was stuck untill the poor fella hit the quit buttun :(.....Thanks to the cars that let me get back into qually spot....especially MJ who did it twice after I forgot to brake for the hairpin before the chicane  ::) whilst checking I had passed him the first time. :-[

first or second flying lap in the race proper saw someone a couple of cars ahead make an error in the two lefts before the final...whilst trying to avoid everyone slowing a bit I didn't see MJ come up my outside till I heard a dull thud and we were both facing the wrong way. This put us last and second last respectively so more or less the whole race was spent chasing from the back.
MJ got away, 10 secs or so after I clipped a curb in the chicane, so spend 30 mins on my own but slowly closing the gap.
About 5 or 6 laps to go I managed to latch onto the back of Baracus, Jan and MJ....MJ must have just passed them though as he soon started pulling away. Battled for a couple of laps till Jan made a mistake through the chicane and Baracus passed him...I tried too but Jan closed the door smartly...(by the way...can I have my front wing back Jan  :D )...I got him next lap though as he got a bit sideways in the right hander before the back straight ;D
I didn't expect to catch Bara though...a couple of seconds ahead, but he must have been struggling badly with tyres as I managed to catch and pressure him for a couple of laps. He obligingly put it sideways too so I managed to get passed with just 2 laps to go.

Totaly enjoyable race. Cheers all.

Grats to winner and podium.

Well the result should have been better but still had some fun :)

Sorry for flitting in and outta quali. Initially, after 1 lap I was thrown into an acid trip and the screen went all fractal ???. It was like the mid 90's again ;D. Really odd as graphics card was running at 50c but I think I have a problem with a GT1 skin as it only happens in the GT1 sprint races. Glad to get in a half decent lap and wouldn't have caught RR up front anyways.

Race was going great and enjoyed battling John for first 20 minutes. Thanks for the apologies and realise you didn't mean to do it  ;). However, you've gotta have some sympathy when I say that I ain't happy. I would take it as read that someone of your pace could follow someone prepared to defend without such incidents. Hopefully I can get on your pace again and my faith can be restored. Still I'll try and remember the first 20 which was immense fun, thank you :).

So should have been better but at least I've found a car I'm more competitive with now. Battling those Listers made it feel like GTR1 all over again, aaaagh the good old days :).

Congrats to RoadRunner who was pretty much untouchable :)

Very good race RR ;D

Really pleased with this race, partly because I wasn't expecting a (lucky) podium, but also because I didn't make any mistakes!
The last time I finished a race without leaving the track was the Hockenheim Endurance...quite a few races ago.
So I was concentrating heavily on staying smooth and keeping the tyres cool instead of outright pace, almost just to restore some confidence after a few bad races where I think I've been overdriving. :-[ For a long time I thought that 5th place was my natural pace, until I got lucky with the SBG and John incident's, otherwise I wouldn't have had a look-in.

Whilst my pace was slower than the sprint, I felt it was much more consistant, much smoother, and faster on the whole. I'm happy after a race after almost a month. :)

Oh, and well done Simon too.  8)

My opinion has shifted a bit about this track. I hated it for a while then over the last couple of races I've really connected with it.    Other than the disco at upper endurance I got to grips with both gt1 and gt2 class last tuesday.     If football was not on tonight I would have been here. Sad to have missed it as my endurance pace with full fuel was good enough for a strong finish.    Well done all and see you on track soon.

I think i can speak for everyone here when i say almost isnt good enough.
Keep practicing until you CAN control it!
There are Alot of good sim racers on here, and i think they'll be a little upset if you ruin there race due to lack of control.

Make yer mind up!!  ;D ;D ;D

I'd steer well clear of the GT1's for the moment Tibs (next season too), you can get in trouble twice as quick in them .... and that means potentially getting other people in trouble double quick as well.

Not wanting to sound like a broken record or anything (not me personally, but this comments been posted a good few times of late) .... but you need to pick a car and stick with it.  Get to know the car and it's little quirks, get consistent in the car - whether that means making practice laps in 1st gear and then increasing the speed or not.

Pick a track to practice on in GTR2, go through the driving school bit for it, and then practice until you can do it in your sleep.  Once you've  done that you can branch out to other tracks and stick with it.

On the setups front .... just stick with the defaults for now, familiarity with the car and the track will bring far more success that some setup will.

The guys here are great and will help out where they can with tips and bits, but we can't practice for you.  Quite clearly you're very keen, but you need to narrow your sights until the consistency increases.

Had a bit of a mixed race in terms of full-fillment/enjoyment.

I seem to be stuck in the lower reaches of top 10 for most GT1 races this season and just cannot match the pace of the top 6. Its my first season with the Lambo and i dont seem to have gelled with it like i did the Maserati last season.  :-\
It sounds bloody awesome with the sounds i use for it and makes it an aural treat to drive.  8)

I was quite happy with 8th in qually for most of the session, then as always happens, i got pipped at the end and fell two spots to 10th.

Race was going well glued to a very fast moving train upto lap 4 when there was some kind of altercation up front in sector 3. I got through cleanly (or so i thought) by staying wide around the melee but Pseud must have been taking avoiding action from what was happening on the inside line and came across spinning us both off into the gravel  :'(
This left us about 7 seconds behind the pack and i had to drive like a loon to close up on Jan Dujis. When i caught him we had a fantastic 10 minute or so battle with me pressurising him all over the track but his F550 had enough grunt to pull away from me on the two straights every single lap ! It was a superb battle but ultimately frustrating as i was losing about 2 seconds a lap to the front pack.
Jan drove a great clean defensive drive despite me climbing all over him in almost every corner
Eventually he cracked under the pressure, running wide in sector 3 and i leapt through the opening and steamed off up the track, pulling out an instant several second gap in the next two laps.
Unfortunately i was now about 15 seconds behind TT with about 10 mins remaining and he kept that gap constant until the end, finishing 8th.
Congrats to the pody guys!  8)

Was quite upbeat about this race from good showing in enduro but again couldnt quite get the job done.  Had a great qualy lap and was delighted with 4th and had improved my times all round from the enduro but i was kind of fighting the car all the time and was never smooth which showed in the early laps of the race. Was a mixture of being a little to causious and not finding my lines on cold tyres and pressure from behind which led to me letting 4 cars by very early in the race.  Dunno how you guys are so fast right at the start of the race on cold tyres.  Anyway finally got it together and was following M Mclean and TT for sometime untill TT made a mistake and i got by. Could see 4th, 5th and 6th not far ahead towards the end and was slowly catching but then little errors would undo the work i had done catching them.  Thought i'd have to settle for 7th untill on last lap John went for a pass and went wide and i pounced but he got back on infront but then slowed and i just caught his rear very slightly and he spun which i felt really bad untill he explained he had tried to let me by.

So 6th not to bad but again could and should of been better.
