The last one of the season!    I'm sure this will be a good one with a few positions still to be decided in championship table. Looking forward to it.

I might switch to the  MC12 for this race, just to get a feel how it is over a race, as I'm gonna use it for the SUper Endurance. Switching has nothing to do with the car/track combo, as all those hairpins and slow corners are only bad for the MC12. It needs fast corners to excell.

Decided to go with the Lister tonight for a change. It was not the only thing that changed tonight.

Qualified 4th with SPG on pole with a great time.

Put pressure on Freq for first few laps and was soon given a chance to pass.

Tried everthing to catch SPG who was pushing Mark for nearly the entire race, but I could not. I was a 1.5secs behind for nearly the whole race, just could not catch SBG ahead or Mark for that matter. They made no mistakes at all.

Well driven both of you!

That was my first race with the Lister and it seemed good. I was carrying a bit of ballast which might have made it feel different. I was struggling to get the car to turn in at bits, but on the whole it's a fast car.

Intense last race. Was a bit shocked to have 75kg. So with a MC12 at Zhuhai with 75 kg was a real struggle. Was 0,5s slower than my PB, which wasn't bad, but my racepace was awefull. My best racelap was next to last  ::).

Had a cracking race with Aagramn and Simon. 2 Buzzing Lister at my rear, and I was struggling. Had to defend hard a few times but in the end Aagramn got me before the tight hairpin.

Looking at the points scored now, I think it's a tie between me and FreQ ;D

Grats Mark on the win and SBG on the pole  ;D

That was hard work. Lister with 50kg success ballast was so hard compared to the Endurance. Couldn't get anywhere near my Endurance lap times. Anyway with such a small grid didn't matter too much.

Had a battle with Steve to start with and Jonzo slowly heading backwards before he quit out. After Steve made some mistakes I was away and up to the battle with Aagramn and Jeff. Then it was a battle with the 3 of us for quite a while with Jeff desperately trying to hang on in the very heavy MC12.

Well done to Team Shark on 1-2-3 in the championship and I'm sure that should be Jeff winning despite FreQ being at the top. Jeff has 3 wins compared to none of FreQ so not sure why FreQ is top other than he has compete in more races, but that doesn't seem fair. Anyway let's call them both winners and no-one will lose. :)

Anyone know what happened on the S/F straight of the formation lap? There was someone doing a 90 degree re-entry onto the circuit and cars in a complete mess with huge gaps and avoiding actions of other people.

I tapped Barracus.  :(  Sorry, Barra, the coloumn just suddenly slowed down. I went right but I was too late to do it without hitting you. Sorry again.  :(   I think the coloumn slowed down too sudden and it was too late in dropping the speed towards the pit-limiter speed level. Anyway, as this happened just before the start commenced, Barracus had no time to recover. I didn't want to start a race in front of him and waited. So did Ruskus and all the drivers behind which is a nice move.  :)

Barracus slowly increased the gap and since we made no big mistakes the gap slowly grew like a bread before baking, at the end it was about 10 seconds. The same gap was forming behind, towards Ruskus, again about 10 seconds at the end. You can guess it was a lonely race. The only car I met was Steve's in the middle of the road. Twice.  ;)

Grats to everybody everywhere and thanks to the MODERATORS and STAFF for a great season.

TT

Not sure about the formation it all happened so quick but its fair to say I am probably to blame on 2 counts. First it caught me out when the guys infront slowed much more suddenly than I have experienced before, so I had to brake hard and got tapped which sent me off onto the grass. Then I thought it looked like people were waiting for me to go back infront but maybe I was mistaken in thinking this!? Anyway my instinct was to pull into the gap and try to catch the guys still on the limiter before the line and I could see others still pretty close to me. Then I went on the limiter too early - came off again and it was too late to put it back on so I had a bit of an unfair run to the car infront, so I just eased it back for that first lap to not take any advantage. Sorry if this was against etiquette, but to me it looked like that was what was being suggested to do from 'car body language'.

Hard racing all the way after that, mainly with FreQ - we were pressuring each other into mistakes and making some nice passes on each other, but FreQ got a better score than me so ended up in his rightful position again and I lost the concentration needed to mount another attack.

For me a nice way to end the season - i.e. no engine blow out :D

No idea what's happening with the championship! I'm sure Dave has mentioned before that it's the amount of races that decides it....but that isn't fair when another driver has won 3 times to your none!
Either way I'm happy, as if Jeff wins, I'll move up one place in the GT2 drivers champ - me and Midders are tied on 40 points, but I've won twice! ;D

Anyway, qualy was pretty much as fast as I could go, with Mark pipping me at the end  :o
In the race I started off scrappy, made a few mistakes and Brian got through. After that I slowly dropped back and had my first proper battle with Bara for eons. We used to have these every other race, why's it been so long?!

Thought I was staring at 5th place for a while, only to come back at him and get back past! I think your tyres were shot mate, I certainly wasn't going faster!

Congrats to the top 3, especially the 2 were are not used to seeing there - great win Mark!

PS: Did something odd happen on the formation lap Brian? For a minute I thought you'd pipped me at the last minute in qually when you went in front of me, lol.

Cheers all

Hope my second attempt, in six seasons, leading out a warm up lap did not cause problems :-[.

Great fun that. Made early slip and Mark was through. Then hounded him for the remaining 36 minutes with no ruddy joy :). As Brian kindly said, we both drove virtually error free races so hats off to Mark for a fantastic win 8).

I'm a little sad that the lowish turnouts for GT1 sprints may mean its future is in doubt. Totally understandable but this series has consistently provided higher quality racing than any other series. A real credit to the chaps involved, ta.

Congrats to Team Teeth, Shark, JR and FreQ for the clean sweep :thumbup2:. And we can't be too unhappy to grab another podium for the KC boys.

Ignore that Freq, I forgot all about you. I was driving around thinking something was missing....

Yes that is a very good point! I have no answer really, but I know I miss it! Is it since I started driving the F575 instead of the F550? (i.e. this season??)

And no it wasnt my tyres that went off in this race as such, it was my brain :D
I was going way quicker than my previous PB's for the whole race really... took it out of me lol

LOL, I think that was a case of people being sensible and getting out of your way and backing off rather than "letting" you back in. :) Was very odd cause all I saw was your Ferrari coming back onto the track at 90 degrees into what I thought was luckily a gap rather than leaving you a gap.  :o I'll take a look at the replay and see if there is anything we can learn.

Well done to Mark on the win btw, great job and some fantastic pace by the top guys last night.

I find with this track that time can be won or lost with getting the braking right into the 4 or 5 main braking points. In quali I was 5 10th's up just by getting it right in the first turn, but then got it wrong later in the lap. Iam still learning, but the main area Iam bad at is getting a feel for the brakes, I seam to brake to early or too late and lock up.  :)

I started by messing the start up, I put my rev limiter on as every one drove off. I then was trying to catch up but made a few misstakes so I decided to try and settle into a safer pace and maybe pick up a few places if people ahead made errors. With 12 laps to go, I had sort of worked out that my fuel would be low, I thought it would be ok as it was the same set up as I used for the UE, now I know to add a little more.  ;)

Thankyou, and iam looking forward to next season.

The pace was very good last night. I had a quick look through lap chart and although I was slower in the Lister in qualifying my race pace was better. Slightly quicker faster lap, but the Listers tyres don't drop off as much as the lambo.      With the lambo after about 17 laps or so the tyres seem to lose about a second a lap but the listers about half a second. Even though I was quicker than endurance it helped me jump Freq but not enough to beat Mark of SBG.             I will wait until ballast and tyres etc have been decided before making my choice of car for next season, but i'm sure the lister will be high on list.             Well done to Freq/Ruskus and Team shark on championship win. Well done to all for the stiff competition over the season too.

Sorry to all that i quit out last night, its not something i like doing  :(but i turned up last night just before qually and had not done any practise whatsoever in the Lambo at Zhuhai, because of busy xmas spell.
I have also spent the last week playing the RFactor PCC07 mod so the feel of the car and wheel/ffb settings felt so alien to me that i could hardly control the car out of any of the corners. The fronts felt like ice to me last night and i was really struggling for grip.
As the race progressed i started to fall away from the pack at a second a lap, getting pretty demoralised so then when i span at T1, enough was enough, there was no racing for me to be had.

Thanks to the organisers, moderator team etc for another season. I just couldnt commit to it enough this time around to be competitive.

A very tough race-long scrap for 7th place. Ruskus' uber-heavy MC12 was lacking in race pace, but passing him was another matter. Could close up under braking, but Ruskus was always quick out of the fast corners, making it hard to get a tow. Kept him under pressure but was losing time, allowing first Stew and then Simon to close up on me as well. Got a run on Ruskus a few times, but he defended cleverly, and I had to keep backing out. Knew I had to be patient, and that I'd get more chances as his tyres wore down. Made a mistake, letting Simon past, but he returned the favour and I resumed my battle with Ruskus. Had a scary moment when Stew disco'ed, I glanced off the side of his stationary car, but managed to keep going. Eventually managed to get alongside at the fast kink before the first hairpin and took the place. Unfortunately there was a slight contact which left Ruskus behind Simon. In clear air I set my fastest time on the penultimate lap. Almost ran out of fuel on the last lap, good job I made a last minute decision to add a couple more litres.

The Lister was very quick and stable again. I managed to go half a second faster than my best (ballasted) F550 time, although I did have the advantage of -25KG success ballast as well.

Congratulations to Mark for the win, and SBG for the storming pole time. I've only raced 3 times this season, due to technical problems and being busy with my move, but the driving standards in this league have been superb, for both pace and clean driving. Shame about the low turn-outs, hope we can get enough drivers for GT1 next season. Many congratulations to Ruskus & FreQ for their championship tie.  :thumbup2:
