Is it possible to set the practice server up on 40% wet for some practice?

Had a little practice last night and in the wet the Morgan is a real handfull. It tends to bite quite often.       Not sure I've made the correct car choice for this season.     What times are others managing?

1.39's is race pace, offline, for me. Tyre choice is a gamble as I find it tricky to get front hard wets warm enough so may risk soft/hard combo. Still, same for everyone and tonight is gonna be a little crazy which is nice :)

I was about the same I think, but I'm not confident in the car at all. Far too many mistakes at the moment. I stick in another bit of practice later on this afternoon.

I should have said "repetitive". :-[

I'll be back on that server, it's running my favourite map 24/7. ;D Low ping times too.

GTR2 today though I think. It's been a while since I drove the 350Z. (and I might actually be able to control it now... ;D)

Good luck for tonite anyway! I'm a bit apprehensive as i dont like rain so i'll be on my own at the back! softs are too soft and hards are too hard! Arrggh

Danger to everyone around me in race so got out before I did something I would have regretted. Wet races trouble me :) Never do enough of them to be confident of setup and last minute decision to got with hard wets at front proved fatal. Practice makes perfect.

Pointless exercise for me tonight.....unfortunately, although the wet races are a pleasant change and great variety, it's only really the folk that have enough time to practice that stand any chance of a decent race IMO. about 10 laps praccy in wet for me...hardly enough time to see the tyre temps let alone do a usable setup. Shame coz I enjoy it in the wet...makes a nice change.

Ahh well....hopefully have more time for the next one.

Awesome race...tyres lasted suprisingly well considering i didnt appear to have more than 1 deg temp spread on any of em at the end...

Messed me last qualy run up i think, so could have been higher.....made me way past a few peeps up into 3rd, thought 2nd was a bit to much to ask so i took it steady a few laps...but noticed i was closing slightly..so went for it...Should have had it twice in last 2 laps but the guy ran me off the road...which was pointless...as i probably would never have held on to the line...but anyways...his choice...still...gr to all :D

Well, I loved that one ;D I think 6th is just about my best ever Sprint result

Managed a PB by 0.5s in qually to start 12th and my plan was to drive within myself and hope for the best.

I got past Pribiero near the start and settled down to chase Steve Holmes who was driving a blinder and making his more experienced team-mates look bad ;) Steve dropped back at about half way and we lost another couple so I found myself in 7th with Dan and Paul quite away ahead but then they got into a bit of a tangle after T1 and I found myself in the middle of them. Luckily I think tyres were an issue as Dan went off as Paul overhauled me on the straight (cheating Porsche drivers ;)). I couldn't quite put any pressure on Paul over the last few laps but I'm well happy with that result

That was tough.

I put a little practice in last night and again today and just could not get to grips with it all. I was having the occasional fast lap with countless mistakes then on after.

Then tonight I made a couple of tweaks to my car for qualifying and it felt so much better. Was surprised to take pole with the gap I did as until then there was very little between all the top drivers.

The race went really well, better than I thought. Apart from a couple of slight wobbles, no issues at all.

I managed to ease away from Zacari and opened up a 6-7 second lead. I always felt ok but knew fine well in these conditions a spin can happen at any time.

I managed to hold the lead at 6-7 seconds until my tyres were really going off. Zacari brought the lead down a bit, but roadrunner in the little Vertigo would have still been on good tyres and he caught up Zacari and was gaining on me too.

I'm very happy to win even more so in the tricky conditions.

I thought this race might cause problems with the conditions but I never saw anything wrong.

The only car I came across was Spanners and it was frozen on the track.

Looks like another success for team shark junior again!!

Hooray!  Another TSJ 1-2 :)

I'd only managed half a dozen practice laps so I wasn't expecting much, quali in 2nd was a real bonus.

The race was fine to start with, then after 5-6 laps I was getting progressively more and more understeer into the corners which was killing my speed.  By the last couple of laps Rr caught me in the Vertigo and we had a small battle.  I've checked the replay, on both occasions I don't think I did anything other than take a defensive line.  Feel free to report it if you think I was to blame, I apologise for the contact but that corner is not really an overtaking spot especially in the wet.

Grats to everyone who finished 8) It's a shame SBG and BACKO had difficult races as it was looking like possibly a good battle there :( especially when BACKO was taking chunks off my 2nd place early-on.

Good thing I hate rain.

Hi evert, i had a similar issue last year.
Some dust cleaning and termic paste change sorted the problem, in my case.
By the way, remove all the cards and memory and assemble again (after a good cleaning in the slots).
Worked for me, good luck ;)

Pleased with 4th, made a bad chioce of going for hard wets on the front and hard wets on the rears, at T2 the long left hander i had to lift off alot until the front got up to temp.  But as they came up to temp the rears where going off but its a good job i had a gap to the car behind, so definitley shoulda went for soft wets on the front.

Had a nice battle with Dan M for alot of the race, stuck to his bumper alot through the twisty stuff but he always made a second or two on me at T2 when i had to lift off while he looked to be taking it flat out.

Then Backo must of had a spin as he rejoined right in the middle of us.  But lucky for me he had another spin and so i was handed his spot.

Got a nice run on Dan coming up the hill, and fairplay he left room on the inside and we blasted up the main straight side by side 8) with me on the inside having the line for T1 but the next bend was T2 which i struggling with and Dan got right on my bumper and it looked like he was going to have a go at the next turn, but he held back probably cos of the wet and i kept the place.

Picked up another spot when Paul R, i think, had a spin at T1.  But after that it was quiet till the end.

How quick where the Vertigos and Morgans  :o

Congrats Brian and good race Roadrunner in the Vertigo

There only was one Morgan, me! I had struggled in all practice sessions and it just seemed to come together for the race.

The little Vertigo is a little cracker in the wet. Probably the fastest. Add the fact it tyre wear is very low it is a better bet than you think. It's got added torque this season too.

Strange one that. Too fast for all the cars behind and too slow to catch anyone ahead. Sort of hung on to the back of a few in the early laps and after that only saw people who had gone off.

Quite pleased with 10th given that I had done absolutely zero practice at all - just shows the power of not going off! Wets on both ends, car never felt right but was at least benignly unpleasant.

Good stuff, PRibeiro.  :)  Enjoyed every minute of it.  8)
Had hards but the rears were ruined, while the fronts were still respectable. Should have taken soft fronts and ruin all 4.  ;D

not gonna lie, a little choked I missed this one, I was running low 1:38s in offline practice, and judging by quali times that would have made a decent starting spot. I love Interlagos and always do well on it

Hopfully I can match pace next race :(

Very tough race that one! Qulifying was very close, after Brian in pole I think the next 5 or 6 of us were all within a tenth or so. Started 6th and gain a spot early on when Dan went wide and was then being chased by RR. His Vertigo was so much better in the in field section and eventually I got a bit sideways into 4 and he was able to pass and pull out enough of a gap before the final up hill section so I couldn't go straight back by. Backo and SBG then both had spins\slight offs so was in 4th chasing chasing RR around for the middle part of the race.

With about 15 mins to go my right rear tyre started to suffer and I dropped back quite a bit from RR but was holding a steady 6 seconds to Mark behind me. The tyre got worse and worse though and I was having to tip toe into T1 and T4. A couple of times I got sideways but managed to hold it just but stupidly I didn't slow down enough and eventually I got caught out at T1 having a slow half spin and ending up facing the inside barrier. Rejoining was a nightmare. Even looking left I could only see the name tags above the barrier entering T1. I selected reverse and could see mark entering T1 so I waited. I saw him pass in my rear mirror so reversed back and selected first. I then saw Dan's tag entering T1 so I waited again. It seemed like I was waiting an age and thought he must have gone by so I rolled forward and we had a small collision. Many apologies Dan I just couldn't see you. I let Dan go and was pleased to see he didn't lose a place to Pops. That left the 3 of us together for the final stages. Again Pops Vertigo was much quicker in the twisty section and was hoping if Dan held him up a bit there I would be able to pass Pops up the hill. Pops had a few goes but Dan held him off well and then began to pull away slightly. After a few laps my tyre suddenly felt a bit better ??? maybe due to the fuel emptying but eventually I held on close enough to Pops through the twisties and passed up the hill into T1. At the same time Dan ran wide and fell to the back of our trio.

Congrats to Brian on the win and Zacari and RR for their podiums. Many thanks to RR, Mark, Pops and Dan for the racing!

Shame I was too tired to make the most of the pace I had for the first time in a UKGTR race.  Could run at the same pace as Dan and Mark ahead, but an increasing frequency of errors saw me slipping backwards and I quit at 2/3 distance when I could barely make a single apex accurately, no concentration left.

Congrats to Pops on a great result though.   ;D

Roll on more wet races, so much fun to drive.   :)

It must be really hard to drive with such a low frame rate, Tibs. I did notice that you seemed to react late and too violently to corners.    driving in the rain does require the driver to be as smooth as possible.

A combination of no driver skill, low FPS and a driving style that doesn't like wet tracks. ;D

I was just braking too late. I'll have some practice before the next wet race, they're harder than I thought. :-\

The only car I came across was Spanners and it was frozen on the track.

Looks like another success for team shark junior again!!

Arr, cr*p. Sorry. Wasnt sure when you were coming round. It froze up and wasnt sure what to do, thinking it was a network traffic glitch, but 5-10 secs later something came back but i couldnt work out what things were! for some reason i had the motec hud revs showing but had changed the hud to remove them. I take a screen shot of what i ended up with but not sure about picture hosting on web. Quickly hit Esc when i realised what happened.

My normal dry FPS is around 90-100, i was getting 60's last night.

After this i had had a quick play on FEAR and 10mins in it freezes and a box pops up saying windows cant talk to the nvidia driver file!

I'm currently looping 3dmark 06 to see if i can break it again.

I was happy with my quali time, it was just a shame i fell off on the first corner, not having run heavy before.

Who was it watching quali from the stands! Coming down the first straight there was a car up on the hill to the right!

Not sure the nissan is a good car to try out, I always found the brakes a bit weak and it felt heavy.

Well for many that like a Lotus, why dont we use the Exige mod? It would fit right in with many of the cars we already use and has been around long enough surely to have had any irks ironed out ?
It was a great car in the British GT series even giving the Astons a hard time in the twisties.

Sorry I missed this race. We had an 'early' dinner and didn't finish eating in time. Normally eat after the race but I was Hank Marvin! :D
