Had a quick practice and I'm stuck at mid 1.41s.

See how I feel later and I might join in. I just can't get to grips with this game.

This is a really hard track to get to grips with in these cars :P

If I finish I'll consider tonight a success!

Utter, utter rubbish. I'm ready to give up with Race 07.

No problems with GTR2 and no doubt GTL will be fine but on this new machine I'm 0 and 2 with Race. At least this time it crashed before the race started, but without enough time for me to reboot and rejoin.

I haven't even got anti-aliasing turned on now so I can't be pushing the graphics card particularly hard.

Utter rubbish. >:(

1st race ok (seeing as I'd not driven a lap in these cars), 2nd race...DOH left go of clutch by mistake and a dq ( no stop/go option )  :(, back to GTL and GT-40 I think!

Race 1 Engine just spluttered then no power on the start grid!
Race 2 From the back to 4th then down to 8th at the finish as the fast guys, plus slight mistake in turn 3, went back past.
Good fun overall

Not much to report, other than my own incompetence ::)  I'd never even seen the track before so getting pole was great, though the setup was unstable to say the least- more due to gear ratios rather than balance.

Race 1 was great, exept for taking out Bernie at the end when my brakes locked- I waited so not to take the spot but Joss got passed both of us, and I wasn't fast enough on Teamspeek to ask him to let you by.  So sorry about that :( the rest of the battle was brilliant ;D

Race 2 was crazy, I was following Joss when he ran wide, and I was so worried about where he was I didn't notice how early Pribero was braking compared to Bernie in race 1- and I couldn't avoid contact there :( again I waited to let you through though it caused slight chaos to everyone else, then half a lap later caught the kerb and took off the entire front end of the car in the tyres :o

After that I nearly quit, but the car was not too awful to drive and after a few laps I was getting the hang of the balance.  By the end I was 3rd and breathing down Pete's neck though he did superbly to finish 2nd :)

Grats to Joss for both wins, and apologies again for my antics to those it affected :(

Great fun, and really close racing! ;D

Had a real blast with Bernie and Zacari in R1, we all seemed to make mistakes but Bernie was rock solid and proved a right b*tch to pass  After what seemed like forever trying, I made a mistake and fell behind Zacari again and got gapped. I thought that was it and enjoyed watching the fight for the lead, but closed up on the last lap and couldn't believe my good fortune in the last few corners, to take an extremely flukey win.
Felt a little bad for you guys....but only for a few seconds ;D

R2 was totally bonkers. :o Great start from 8th - 3rd at T1, then second at T3. I thought "this is gonna be easy!" and then got into an almost massive tank-slapper on the flat out wiggly bit. Then had to slam on the anchors unexpectedly when Pop's braking caught me out and Zacari got up the inside, only to run into Pop's at the next corner! I got up the inside, and then Bernie ran into me at the very next corner! 3 corners and went from 2nd, to 3rd, to tenth! 8) Everything accidental I'm sure, certainly made it interesting! ;D

From there it was just flat out trying to overtake as much as possible. Got past Pop's and Picnic (3 wide on the s/f straight!!) a few corners into the next lap and went from there. Totally mental race.

Was really surprised to pull out a big lead, and doubly confused when it went up to 20s on the last lap. Hard luck Prib :(
Short shifted massivly on the last lap as I was almost out of fuel. Stupid in-game calculator isn't good for anything.

Congrats to all for the great racing and to our very own OAP - Picnic!  :wheelchair:  Great drive to 2nd mate! How Zacari almost got 2nd with no front nose cone....

Looking forward to the next one now!  8)

Sorry I couldn't make it as I wanted to, but I was in too much pain to do any racing yesterday so it'll have to be next time instead. Looks like there would have been plenty of room for me too.  :-\

That was some ker-razy racing! I found the Radicals a real handful around this track but it was great fun all round and I saw some great driving considering we haven't got a lot of experience in these cars, it could have been absolute chaos!

I'm kicking myself I threw away a podium in race 2 but at least I discovered how to get the car airbourne  ;D

No worries, racing as close and as hard as that for pretty much the entire race was great fun. The fun and excitment of the racing fair outweighed the disappointment of not pivking up the win. Nothing in it between the 3 of us in the first race.

Like everyone else i seemed to make a lot more mistakes 2nd race. Was much more difficult being in the pack but was good fun fighting through. Great drive by Zacari in race 2 to finish on the podium with hlaf his bodywork missing.

Has anyone any idea why I am shown as driving a Caterham? Maybe it was the custom skin?
Anyway the races were fun - I can't understand why more people don't show up for these races. Perhaps because it's not GTR2(and never will be) but it's still worth turning up.
Had a wierd experience being followed by a strange vehicle - thought it was a Touring Car. Then Zacari flew past me with the entire front end of the car missing. I don't know how he managed to drive it but he was bloody quick.
Has anyone got a setting for these cars that does anything at all. I have run the car as soft and as hard as it can be made and it just didn't seem to alter the handling one bit around this track.

That would be my mistake during the imports :-[ I'll get Gizmo to look at it.

I've fixed it for you. Just needed the car updating in the SimCars section of LM2i.

I said that without moving my lips. :D

Just back from the dentists. A considerably less painful experience that last night's crash. :P I'm starting to wonder whether I should swap my new and old graphics cards round, then I would be all-nVidia in my workstation and ATI on the games box. I doubt it'll make that much difference to performance and it might be more stable. ???

So what are you running on your RACE 07 machine? Intel E8400 + Nvidia 8800 GT? Is it multi monitored? What are your graphics card settings in the Nvidia control panel?

Apparently the recent 169 drivers for the nvidia cards are much better for the more recent games, e.g. Race 07 - but give problems to the older ones like GPL.

There's some graphical weirdness going on for me too.

In the last couple of races I've had some horrendous stuttering after having no problems in the test races.

There seems no relationship between the stuttering and where I am on the track an the number of cars around, it seems completely random.

Last night I quit out of practice and turned some of the graphics settings down which helped but the strangeness is that I can run offline on the same tracks with a full grid and never get the stuttering ???

Logged on just after 2000 hrs.  Severe lag – exited and disconnected line.  :hammer:  Reconnected, checked ping rate and disconnected line - repeated until had a better rate.  :wetfish: Joined again for last few minutes of Qualifying  - one flying lap, 10 out of 12 – no lag even on start.  :thumbup2: This was my first VM Race 07 race.  Had a few laps battle with Picnic until he had a nasty end over end off the Armco, also someone else in a red car - finished 8th.  Race 2 start was OK got tipped off whilst braking at T2, thanks for waiting for me to get back – you had a grandstand view for my big lag in the braking area after the flat out hump.   After that I couldn't settle back into the grove and had more offs.  I quit to save my “Download” total.  :taz: It was all good fun while it lasted.  ;D

Yes, E8400 and 8800GT. No multi-monitor on the games box, just 1280x768 32-bit. Nothing special set in control panel except for 60Hz refresh rate. No overclocking or other dodgyness.

Apparently the recent 169 drivers for the nvidia cards are much better for the more recent games, e.g. Race 07 - but give problems to the older ones like GPL.

I don't have any problems at all in GTR2; GTL we'll probably find out tomorrow night. Only Race '07 and - it would seem - only online. No GPL on that machine. I'm on the 169 drivers.

???

Real weird Dave. I'd keep updating your drivers with the newest releases until it fixes the problem. You could try runnin your old Radeon to see what happens, but it'd be a waste to keep it like that.

Think I need to practice more. Had issues trying to get Race to start, I try and do it from the Wingman Profiler in the vein hope that the TeamSpeak PTT will work on the wheel. Wouldn't run and when I looked there were no executables in the Race07 folder! They appeared while I was trying other stuff so I guess Steam was doing an update it wasn't going to tell be about.

So joined the server with under 4 mins of qual time left - no setup and the only laps I'd done here were in a test WTCC race yonks ago. So no surprise I was last on the grid.

First race was a bit of a mare, was having some fun battling down at the tail end until I decided to head butt a tyre wall. No front end but unlike Zacari I couldn't go that quick but it gave me a chance to practice some lines.

Race 2 was much more fun as I was able to keep cars in sight and got lucky when Pops and PRibero both decided to exit stage left at that fast right over the brow over the last couple of laps to donate me a podium. I was also lucky Tinman was able to hold Zacari up because he closed so quickly in his broken Radical once passed and I expect he would have had me if there had been another lap.

I had this problem Popa, I accidently had vsync turned on. Offline my system could cope, but online it couldn't. Worth checking your settings.
