I put the server up for an open practice on iGOR. It has Spa on it, jump on in and get some practice. Server name: UKGPL__3 Open Practice: No password. Mod: 66mod Track: Spa 67 I left the server open for practicing. If there is any problem with wreckers joining (i dont think there are many in GPL nowadays) then I will start pass-wording it. Otherwise I think its better to have some random people join in now and then, maybe they might like to join UKGPL. Also I am trying some new bandwidth settings, you shouldnt have to do anything your end iGor will do it all for you. Let me know if anyone has problems connecting. I am hoping with these setting to have more cars visible ahead and behind. See how it goes. See you all soon, Bully. ;D Title: Re: UKGPL Season 15 - Pre-season test - 66 mod - Spa - Feb 17 Post by: Bully on February 16, 2008, 12:15:27 PM +0000 I have now added Paul Jacksons loose grids. Hopefully that will give us all an easy start!

Grats for another win. EDIT: Also, if you can, please post the text report of the Glen race - I'm struggling to find the link you gave me earlier. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 15 - Pre-season test - 66 mod - Spa - Feb 17 Post by: Steven Foster on February 18, 2008, 06:25:16 PM +0000 That was good fun - had a great battle with Amal, Derek and Mr. Sikes, brought to a premature end by a recovering Lotus on L3. Reset and then got towed around by Mr. Sikes' Honda for the rest of the race. Marvellous :)!

I seem to have made more mistakes in the 3 laps I completed than I would normally in a whole race...and that's a considerable amount!! :o Title: Re: UKGPL Season 15 - Pre-season test - 66 mod - Spa - Feb 17 Post by: Syd Drake on February 18, 2008, 08:50:21 PM +0000 Here are the links for Spa and Glen text reports:

Had a great slipstream battle with Amir on lap 1, with me him and Clive going 3 abreast into Masta :o As for the rest of my race, well.......... :-\ Title: Re: UKGPL Season 15 - Pre-season test - 66 mod - Spa - Feb 17 Post by: Kruger Enge on February 19, 2008, 03:25:02 PM +0000 I agree Brendan. 66s are great fun and it allows better handicap for leveled racing - only, we have to get it spot on to achieve full effect.
As soon as the Brands race is through, we will analyse the results from all three events and see where everyone is in terms of pace. Some people are at advantage, others at disadvantage so we'd want to get everyone on as much the same level as possible. My race in Glen was a tad bit compromised by lack of quali laps (PC problems) and at the start, due to warp I got rear-ended but I'm sure I would have finished higher up and the pecking order pretty much looks similar to what it would been in a regular 67 race. In Spa, I got 5th in quali and managed to get into 4th by the end of race. I had some nice duels with faster cars, mainly Lotus 43 which on paper is quicker than Ferrari 246 a bit less than 6 seconds. You could tell at the straights that they were more powerful but as far as entering and going through the corner is concerned, they had to brake much earlier so even in Spa, there were some duels - I cannot say I was disadvantaged to the point of not being able to race and have fun.... Which is more than I can say about the two fastest guys, Oliver and Lorenzo, who were in a Lotus Climax - there was little they could do but this disadvantage luckily is limited to Spa (and other tracks where full throttle moments are dominant). I'm very optimistic that it will be a great division to compete in and it could easily be full grid so, be amongst the first to register once the registration is open ;) Kruger |
