Remember joining procedure is:
1) Full times go in after 8:45.
2) Reserves after 8:55.
3) If there are any spots left once Q2 has started then anyone else can go in (although in theory there should not be anyone that isn't a reserve or fulltime that knows the password)

Joined with 13 mins of qual to go, messed up first flying lap, 2nd wasn't bad, 3rd was a peach with 1.54.5. Quit to the pits and found it very quiet - stupid f**king game had lost the lobby connect and not told me again  >:(. Too late to rejoin, so I hope you all had a good one.

went really laggy in the session change from warmup to race... on the grid pings were 2000!!!!

pings settled in a couple of corners, so i carried on, no one was reacting to my presence and the overlay said i was 18th ... actually about 13th or so!

span and thought not worth getting in the way with network problems!

Well, that couldn't have gone any worse. :( Set an OK qual time for 6th. On the second lap I lost the top of my throttle, and was losing 3-4 seconds a lap. Cars were streaming past me and I could do nothing. Slowed down on a straight when there was a gap in the traffic and tried to re-calibrate my pedals by pulling out the connector. Fumbled trying to put it back in and ended up in a tyre wall. Then I got my first ever in-race CTD!

I'm going to have to miss the next race or two until I get these pedals fixed or replaced.

fair qual, good race, was 2nd 2 secs behind greg when lap 11 got the 1fps bug, thats the 2nd time in 3 races. I am now totally pissed off with this. Dave Gymer, please delete me from all race formats, I dont want to risk smashing something when it happens again. Good luck to you all, for the season, and heres to wishful thinking that sinbin ,might pull there fingers out of there arses and fix this bloody game.

Thankfully for me everything was fine and I had a faultless race with no incidents and no mistakes at all.

Qualified 5th with as good a time as I was going to get and ended up 2nd mostly through other people having 1fps bug or hitting people that had it apart from Luis who kindly went off at one point into the gravel to let his team leader through. ( ;) Well ok maybe that wasn't his intention).

Good outing for Team Shark, 2nd and 3rd although I don't feel like we totally deserved it with all the other drivers problems.

Very sad for you guys hit by these stupid game bugs. Locutus I hope you stay with us even just for the fun races, if not totally understand I had 2 of these 1 fps bugs myself this season both at Magny Cours in the 2 sprint races. Hope you are back if GT Legends or r-Factor are any good (or if Simbin fix GTR) and if we have a league with a lot of the guys from here in it.

Honestly gutted for you aagramn. When you slowed, knowing reason, I felt guilty passing you. Also sorry to woodee for silly mistake in quali.

Apologies over with. What a great race! Qualified as well as I could expect and settled into normal conservative race pace. Obviously realised it was too slow when fozz caught me. Increased my pace a little but still could not hold him and he pulled a great move to pass me. Now this made me angry, Fozz being a nancy n-gt boy and all ;D, and bucked me out of comfort zone to push him. I caught and pushed him really hard but all credit to fozz he would not crack. I now know what real men are made of!

locutos, I'm terrible sorry you had 1FPS again :-[. It's very disappointing to finish a race that way.
I'm guessing you already tried several possible fixes for the 1 fps. I use to have it quite regularly but since I changed High Process Priority to ="0" I never had it since. Perhaps it's worth to try it to see if it can help.

Regarding the race I must say I'm pleaseant surprised with Greg's qualifying pace. Simply amazing ;). The same goes to race. Fastest lap and truly a lighting pace. Congratulations Greg. Well deserved win :).
I guess I could have put some more pressure on you Greg, but I was following to close to have some safe margin, which I had almost none.
When you braked a little early for T2 I thought I could not avoid you. Fortunately you turned left a bit sooner also and I let the car go straight and didn't touch you. If I had tried to corner with you I'm more then positive that I would knock us both out. I knew I was braking a little later then you in some 2 or 3 corners and  I surely should have left some more distance in that corner. It was entirely my fault the need to make an evasive maneuver.

Simon, I'm joking in my chat comment that you could have let me pass ;D. Being a "rookie" in Team Shark I was joking as for you to have me the honours, sort of house owner to guests honours. Just joking ;D. I didn't had time to say it in chat as I wanted to save the replay ;)
I was going as fast I could too.

LOL Luis knew you were kidding, BUT, if you had caught me easily I would have let you passed very easily too.

When you went off and I got passed you, you started to catch me and I thought from the qually pace that you would catch me easily which you did at first and I was prepared to let you have the place easily being my teammate if you'd caught me as quick as I thought you would. But then the gap just stabalised at 4 secs and didn't change really for the last 10 mins and I kept trudging away at the same pace for the entire race. My tyres were in A1 nick at the end through some very smooth driving, no lock-ups or anything. Still had full grip, no overheating, really paid off having sorted a nice race setup last week.

First of all thanks to Luis for not taking me off, wasnt aware that I had braked earlier than normal and wondered why you went straight on into the gravel, pitty we were having a good battle.
Qualfying was ok, been putting in low 1:54's for a while now at Brno, pushing for that magical 1:53, one day maybe.  Taking pole was an unexpected bonus.
Pleased with my 1:55 fastest lap in the race, pitty I can't maintain it.  Trouble is the Saleen combined with my driving style just eats tyres.  Normally my times drop of gradually towards the end of the session, down too about the 2:00 mark after 45 mins, wish I had the solution to this problem.  It dosnt matter how hard I push the speed just fades away and there is nothing I can do to respond.

First few laps were real tight stuff with a couple of guys breathing down my neck, certainly no room for any errors.  I was truly gutted when Luis went off followed shortly afterwards by Loctus, made the win slightly less satisfying than it would have been otherwise.

Had one hairy moment when I came across a car parked in the middle of a turn, infact he was there for two laps, dont know if it was a ghost or what, cant believe someone would sit there for two laps, still had to take avoiding action mind.  On the first encounter Loctus went off behind me, I figured he saw it late and spun, however this may have caused his 1fps ?

Anyway as I expected my tyres started to go off after a while, fortunatly I had a resonable gap to Shark in 2nd, although he was closing at around 1.5 secs a lap for the last few. Could I hold on to take the win, well I tell you what had the race been another 2 laps I doubt it, but it wasn't and I won.
To be honest guys Brno is one of my favorites and this is my first ever league win, so dont expect that kind of performance every week.
Overall an exceptionaly good race and qual for me, think I shall saviour that one for a while.

Superb first outing with the Lambo at BRNO (and first go in the Lambo for about 4 months). I joined with about 10 mins of warmup again, and asked "is anybody on the track" as I always do this when nobody's on the track. Of course there were people on track, I was just that I was at the other BRNO again (the one where nobody is on track). It seems that whenever SimBin fsck me over, I end up at BRNO with no other people, probably a reason why I dislike this track.

Got back with about 1:30 left of Praccy1 and had a quick blast to get used to the car, threw it off too. Dedicated the first 7 minutes of Q1 to getting to know the car in race trim, Did a semi OK laptime too I think. After that I put softs on and did my real qualify lap, did a conservative lap, then threw it off on my really quick one, still got 10th tho, so can't be bad.

Got in the race and lit up my rear tires like I always do. I then got it into my head that I was behind the guy behind me, so I let him through, and bugger, I'm in 11th :-(

Took me ages to get past JonMUK and Bernie Ecclestone. Infact, I can't remember what happened, did they go off/disco or did I overtake I dunno, I can never remember much from races so why the fsck do I write post race reports. Oh yes to brag about what I'm proud of!

EDIT - It appears that JonMUK ended up quite a way infront of me, perhaps he just pulled away and was therefore not a factor, in any case we were close for a long time

Obviously realised it was too slow when fozz caught me. Increased my pace a little but still could not hold him and he pulled a great move to pass me. Now this made me angry, Fozz being a nancy n-gt boy and all

Well there you go, it took me an absolute age to catch Sponsored, can't have been more than 0.3 per lap, eventually I got upto him and he just wasn't going to make no mistakes what-so-ever. I pushed him for all I was worth for a shed load of laps but it was no go. In the past I've been strong up the hills when I want to be, mostly I feel because the second one, I'll keep the acc pedal jammed when the slide starts and it just cancels itself, I think this slide scares a lot of people, but we were so even up there that that was impossible too.

Time for something new! I realised yesterday that the first corner, if you arse up the entry, providing you don't make it to the marbles, you don't lose out too badly as you gain on the next straight. So I deliberately half arsed it up, came back and took a super late apex and still managed to catch both curbs and made about 3-4 car lengths up on him down that straight (I'd lost a good 2 ish with my strange line). Got a little bit of drafting and pulled side by side with him into the corner Sponsored seemed to not want to go too wheel to wheel and just slotted in behind me and the place was mine!

After that I had about 7 mins to go and the rear end starts coming around at a place where I didn't tell it too and I know that my rear tires were just destroyed. As shark said afterwards, "The Lambo's tire wear isn't so bad" "It's the way you drive it" :). Anyway it got me this far, and now the pain starts... I thankfully keep all four wheels pointing in roughly the same direction for the rest of the race, mostly by just dialing out the speed (something that I haven't done at BRNO yet successfully, yesterday I was off everywhere in the last 5, so I was nervous). I was to scared to back off going up the hills as well though as I knew I would get caught so it was a real battle to keep it all going. Sponsored had a good look up the inside in the 2nd 2nd gear corner which I just held mine in. In the end I just limped home, counting down the minutes.

I honestly believe that if it had been one more lap I would have lost it, both through stress and tire wear. I've kindof made a speciallity of driving slowly (read tactically) but at BRNO i felt unable (wide track that I don't really know so well), so was forced to just drive non stop, at the pace dictated by other people. After yesterdays race where I started last and fought well to finish in a semi reasonable position, I'm pretty tired now, and I've also learnt that there are some nice elements to this nasty track (the battles).

I was starting to get very eager to catch you ;D and started to force the car very aggressively, which cost me some time after initially closing the gap. Also Jon was getting closer and that made me though twice. Calmed down a bit a started to drive smoothly controlling Jon's and knowing it would be very difficult to have speed to reach you. After Enna's 4 laps disappointment and scary close call with Greg better to secure a 3rd then to put a kamikaze chase. ;D

Had a bad quali, kept falling off the track and started the race 10th. Had some good battle's at the start of the race before climbming up to 6th. Then Loc and Mark had some sort of problems(loc 1fps) Don't give up just yet Loc give it one more race, I'm sure it'll be alright. That left me in 4th chasing Luis with mark just behind me, thought mark was gonna come back at us but just seemed to fall away, as the laps ran out there was no time to catch Luis and finished in 4th, Tyres held up pretty well. No problems with connection and really enjoyed the race. Thanks Fella's for the great race ;D Grats to Greg on his fine victory  ;) Catch you all at Doni

I'm glad you did go past - if you hadn't there would have been a big train behind me before long!

Think I might have fixed my pedals, after following the instructions here:

http://web.axelero.hu/mozso/momo_e5.html

Wrapped a couple bit of insulation tape around the pedal shaft and it isn't rocking around now. Just did a few laps without any problems and managed a new Lister PB, fingers crossed this is a long term solution.

Nah it was me who hit the car in the middle of the road whilst following you.  I was so annoyed after that that I threw caution to the wind, and couldn't keep it on the road....the setup was horrible anyway, but I thought I had a chance there.  By the end of the race I was doing high 56's to Greg's 2:00 laps.  Still, a well-deserved win, you drove really well out there.

Oh well, I still get some points at least.  But it's a tough ask to come back from here.

Just a thought Loctus regarding the 1fps.
I used to suffer from it a lot, very frustrating, what cured it for me was the replay settings.  Try setting all replay settings to medium and 30 secs.
Since I tried this I havnt had a single 1fps, thats blown it, bound to get it next time out now :-)
Hope this helps.

I've heard there can be a memory leak associated with having the special effects setting on high. When the game clears up the rubber texture for wheel skids it doesn't free the RAM used to draw them back up again. Might explain the sometime slow framerate slide on 1.5 hour races. Stuck mine on medium.

It's in your .plr file.

In case you haven't seen my post on this before, I fixed my 1 fps issues since Magny Cours (which is about 7 online races ago - not even had a glimmer of problems since i did all this)...

0) Uninstalled old ATI catalyst drivers and installed non standard ATI graphics drivers. Instead of the Catalysts I've put on the NGO drivers (based on 5.7 catalyst).
1) Reinstalled GTR from scratch with no add-ons at all.
2) Put 1.4 patch on.
3) Created a new player in game with GTR 1.4, copied old Career.blt over the new one and copied over my old car settings and replay files.
4) Everything on highest setting in video settings in game except:
  a) Other Car Detail - High
  b) Special Effects - Medium
  c) Track Draw Distance - Far
  d) Number of cars draw - 24
  e) Level of detail bias - 100%
5) Number of sounds - 16
6) Turned all replay settings OFF.
7) In car chat OFF.
8) Internet connection type ISDN (even though i have 2Mb broadband)

It's running at 1280x1024 with 4x AA. To be honest even with the settings (above) down like Special Effects to Medium the graphics don't look any worse to me than before when i had everything on max.

Since then I've copied the whole GTR directory to another folder where I install any mods and use the modded version when wanting to run escorts etc but ALWAYS return to the standard for online races etc.

I doubt a memory leak can be the source of 1FPS. as if it were running out of memory the least used bits would be swapped out (which would more than likely be old skids), so it'd jerk for the HDD, but then continue at full FPS.  When you exited the game you'd have to wait for windows to clear your swap... Windows is shit at using swap.

The game could be locking certain things in memory though - Windows allows you to mark memory as unswappable.

Whenever I've had the 1 fps bug I've checked task manager with GTR still running and it's only ever using the normal few hundred MBs still loads to spare on my 1GB RAM.

I found it my self after testing several solutions. This one works for me since I've made the change

It's in your player.plr file, under [Game Options] almost and the end of the section.

so what kind of frame rates are you guys pulling ?

with a field of 24 drivers my pc is doing about 60.

pc 2.6 p4 geforce 6600gt  1,5 gigs of ram. i am thinking of replacing my cpu with a 3ghz and ocerclocking it to 3.2, then the framerates should increase i think.

Running with:
P4 3.4
ATI X800XT PE
2GB Ram
SBlaster Audigy 2ZS
WXP Pro
TrackIR 3 Pro + Vector
Momo Force wheel + pedals
4Mb/256kb ADSL Wireless connection
19” LCD monitor
1280x1024x32 4xAA 8xAF, Vsync ON
GTR on fullest except Special Effects on Medium

In UKGTR races I get around 38 at race start and around 70 from then on.
Runs very smoothly and lag free. :)
Now if they only solve the bugs in GTR and the sh*** lobby that keeps falling...

ok, high piority was set to 0, and I've set special effects to low, all replay stuff was off. Will give one more go. Dont have any probs on wosec server and races are 1.5 hrs long. They run non DX server, dont know whats running in ukgtr. Cross fingers, cuz this games to good to bust.

I thought WOSEC ran the DX server?

UKGTR runs the no-DX server. The server does not have the capability of a CD-ROM the DX-server can't be run.
