It was supposed to be round 1 of Season 2.

I'll have to do some testing first to see if I can stomach the idea of getting back into one of the single seaters. Conventional wisdom says I'm too old for them. :wheelchair: :D

Yep, the more the merrier. :D

I'm undecided as to whether I'll race or not. I did some testing earlier and whilst I've been able to improve the feel of the car through setup  changes, I'm still not really grokking the single seaters. :-\

I've not even installed Race on my new PC yet.       I can't remember what I thought about the formula BMW cars.     Hopefully I will have time to give it a go then decide.

Can't make this one. Taking my younger brother and his missus out for dinner as a thankyou for the work he's put in getting my Sprite on the road.

Would love to be racing in this series but for some reason the exe wouldnt run....

I have the same problem with it from time2time.... what normally solves it for me is in the main Steam my games menu.. right click/game properties/local files/verify integrity..
It then shuffles through the files does a small download and then launches. A right PIA but at least it gets it running/ for me anyway.

Bump bump. Don't forget this event starts tonight.
I wish everyone the best of luck for this short season.

I'll be pottering round at the back as usual, just about sub 2 mins for atm.
Should warn you that tyre wear could be an unknown quantity for 40 mins in these. Also to remind you that it is possible to stop for tyres or if your low on fuel!

Ah well...fun whilst it lasted....just didn't last long  ;D

Stop n go, puncture, lost splitter and no talent.....time to quit out and leave you all in safety.

Grats winner and podium.

Oh yes...just a reminder to the new folk that joined....please dont chat during qually sessions...it is very distracting  ;)

Bollocks - a disco while leading, of all the times for that to happen. Can't even remember the last time I was in the lead of a race, must have been the freak occurence of that causing the disco  :-[

Well I was right... I can't drive these cars after all. ::) No consistency at all - can't seem to get my braking right two corners in a row, turn in points all over the place, hitting about 25% of my apexes.

Great start though!

After that I got a stop and go thanks to my inconsistency. Took that in the interests of science. Went for a bit just trying to get a feel for the cars. Got a second stop and go. Took that. Started to think I was getting there... and then it all went wrong again. Third stop and go just before the leader caught me to lap me... quit out of frustration and in the interests of the leader's safety.

No more single seaters for me ever.

That was fun, thanks for putting on the show Don.

Managed a fouth despite being hit up the back, Don me and one other were three abrest at one point, hairy moment but clean racing. Couldn't quite close picnick down.

See you guys for the next one.

It wasn't just you. I tried all 3 different views during the race and none of them let me work out where the heck I should be braking every lap for the same corner at all. Was scary following people as there are no brake lights so you either end up braking much earlier than the other guy or you go for it up the inside. Can't for the life of me work out how we ever drove the 67 F1 cars in GPL safely at all. ;D

Anyway, somehow got 2nd after there were some stop gos for other people and Bernie's disco. Totally undeserved, but there you go. Had some fun with Pete and Ben along the way, thanks, good clean racing fellas.

Must say the cutting rules there were bizarre. The guys up front were going 2 cars width off the track on the exit of the 2nd fast chicane, which I think is against our rules (except we don't appear to have any on cutting other than let the game decide ;) :whistling:, but let's not go there ) and then other times you'd get cuts for using curbs as you'd expect to use them. I had 2 warnings after losing it in the first chicane and once finding out where the limit was (so a completely justified warning!). After that I was being extremely careful and when going off I was driving really slowly back on so I didn't get a cut warning. I do hope at some point, somebody writes a racing game where losing it and spinning across a chicane is not counted as cutting!

No practice, probably never driven more than 1 race is these before so a 3rd was a big surprise. Thought it was all going to be a bit lonely, Shark and the cars in front leaving me by a second a lap and me eking out a gap to the cars behind. But due to people in front getting stop & goes and having the occasional spin it all got interesting :) Swapped places a couple of times with Shark as we each made mistakes. Final one I made allowed JPS1 to get sight of me with a lap and a half left so that kept it interesting.

Shame we didn't have a few more cars out there.
I really like theses cars. Had fun out there.
I got copped for 2 stop- go's as well. The other tracks we are using aren't so strict so shouldn't be as bad.
