Wonderful car choice for a great circuit (which also featured in GT RACER on TV) but off course this will not be an enduro event. I am puzzled as to why the other TC65 class cars are refused entry? (not a criticism honest)

To be honest, its simply the Cadwell car choice moved to Lime rock   :) Unfortunately, I don't think they are quite as well matched around here and the Mini may struggle. Saying that, was thinking of adding the Mustang but not had time to test it yet although I guess it not much faster than the Falcon (maybe you gents can help us there)? The other TC65's get a run out later in the season, and are no match for this selection, so they will not get an outing here.

Gotta agree about the track as I think the Falcon is more fun around here than Cadwell  :)

This is a great track, not sure how the V8s vs I4 will work out, it's pretty fast, but enough corners to slow the V8s down.  The Mustang is *slower* than the Falcon at all tracks, except as the race wears on when the rears last a little better on the Stang.  So including it here would be fine.

Lovely turn of phrase there Mr.BMW ::)

After being literally inundated with demand (well 2 to be honest ;)) the Mustang has been added to selection. Can't think of anything more fun than Stang vs Falcon around here   :) Any takers?

Hell yeah ;D. Then people will have to try a yanktank, and I'm sure they'll never go Italian again after that ;D.

Hell no!  ;)   I was going to try a Cortina here, haven't driven one in UKGTL for a while.  Think the big and little cars will make for interesting racing.

I really think we should be avoiding unnecessarily unpleasant phrases like this. It's a public forum and reflects badly on the league.

So Far AI is setting the fastest time in a Cortina. Top 11 out of 35 are cortinas at low 1:03s

AI Alfas are now going into mid/high 1:02s - however the top 15 are still dominated by Lotus's.

I'm running Mid 1:03s - so I'm expecting Ruskus, and Bara to run under 1 minute - freaks!

That was 2 years ago, sir!

I can't see a day where I'm 200ths of a second off your record time.

One thing about this race is that overall fast laptimes are not going to be as important as being consistant and not getting hit. This is going to be a TIGHT race.

Apologies PR, its just the one race around Lime Rock as Cadwell is still broken. Ignore the calender which hopefully can be fixed.

And yes your age is affecting your brain and eyes. Hopefully it will slow you down soon ;) Already got me.

A bit off topic, but Abarth vs Jag Mk2 on Brands hatch could be a great race.

Can't make it this thursday either  :(

Those cars, along with the mighty Elite,  should make for a great race around Knockhill next week ;) Hope you can make it then.

Getting close to 03's in the Falcon but I guess times have improved from the last race.

Can't see myself beating the laprecords. Maybe equal them, but I won't go quicker. So I'm afraid it's looking grim for the Yanktanks, and it will be a walkover for the Europeans this time  :'(

You were our last hope JR :) It not been the best two weeks to pick the more slippery/slidey options competition wise. The Falcon is ace so I really don't care and our time will come   :-*

im struggling with 1:06's in the mustang  :(  Is it slow here or is it just me being pants? as sure i would be way quicker in an euro car, but the soundpacked Stang is pure audio nirvana  8)

Anything special, setup wise needed here? I've just softened it all round and increased the power diff for traction over the hump back corner.
Its sector 1 that is paining me, trying to get the fat lump turned in around those ever tightening apex's

I'll be driving the Mini (there's a surprise ::)). It's fairly slow around here but for some reason I'm faster with it. :-\

The Mustang is pretty awful. It seems to have way too much understeer on most of the corners, then too much oversteer on corner exit.

Mustang is a bit slower than the Falcon. Don't soften it all round, soften the front, but stiffen the rear. Crank up the rear ARB and try diff settings p:40 c:10.
For the first sector, don't use a normal racing line, but use the white areas. They are slightly banked and will improve the corner speed immensely.

Doesn't matter that the Falcon is crap, like SBG says, it's a joy to drive, and as long as fast drivers don't take the easy option, the field should be nicely balanced out :).

I have absolutely no problem with the creme de la creme choosing the very fastest cars if they want to. It's all about the level of enjoyment you want to permit yourselves isn't it?

Alfa or Cortina is easy option. If fast drivers take it, they'll drive off into the distance on their own. I can't imagine that being fun for them, or others.
I won't stop them from taking it ofcourse ;D.

Whilst its not always an entirely accurate source, the times for Limerock at GTL Rank are telling. Anybody doing 101's in the Alfa will be shot and its interesting to see the Mini up there  :) Gawd, please don't let Pseudo be faster than me with FWD.

LOL. I've never driven the Cortina at Lime Rock, so it's probably a laptime I did at another track, but got recorded wrongly. I've also not update my career.blt in months, maybe even in a year, so it's not a time I've done recently ;D.

I'll see what I can do in the Alfa or Cortina when I've time. I might even take the Mini out for a spin ;D

It only took me 2 laps to do a 01:01.482 in the Alfa, that's how easy that car is ;D.
In the Cortine a did a 01:02.432, and the Mini 01:03.785.

All were done with only a few laps practice, but all are faster than I did with more practice in the Falcon :P.

Well that was fun (not)  :(

Couldn't get a clean lap in qually....always either costly 1 mistake, held up or something.

That reminds me....please dont chat during qually, it is distracting and part of the rules  ;)...save your appologies till later  ;D

Got a great start...fairly zoomed away off the line and passed 3 almost stationary cars...got a loverly run round turn 1 too...round the outside using the mini's fwd to drag me round...passed 2 or three of the very uncomfortable looking tanks.....Then Wiltshire Tony's car appeared right in front of me out of thin air and whallop...busted suspension....(not anything you did wrong btw Tony....just a bit of lag or something)
Kept going for a lap or two but I was struggling here without chance for praccy even with a healthy car...so decided I was not going to enjoy myself and quit out. :(

Av fun....grats to Jeff winner and podium.

The results will be posted this evening, but may be slightly delayed and a little later than normal.

Utter chaos at the start with the very tight grid a crazy mix of cars. Managed to avoid much of the carnage  but by half distance my grip was AWOL and I had several offs gradually worsening the handling further.

Got dive bombed once or twice by 'slower' cars - can't say I blame them but a bit silly when they do it and can't actually make the corner. ::) Final straw was getting run off by another Falcon and then spun by a following 'slow' car who simply ran right into the back of me, at which point quit rather than prolong the agony for no points and virtually last place.

But made an major error on top of the hill what created some probs for other cars.
I'm very sorry if I caused someone his race / points .

Alex , what happened ?  Such a good quali and the a pistop after 1 lap ?
Cutting track again

.. for no points and virtually last place.

Hate to disappoint you but I was dead last. Left my brains somewhere on the track or something but got stop/go penalty for cutting track at first corner (which was totally right I must admit..) and then hesitated if I indeed took the penalty at my stop.. so I pitted again..

Came back just in front of leaders so the whole race was traffic mayhem.. if I got in anybody's way, please let me know (in a mod report)..

I had a great race tho, even watched some Mustangs battle it out...  ;D

ARAGHREHGGHRHGRHGRHGHHHHH

I can't beleive it, I held 5th place basically the entire race, and it comes down to the last 3 laps and I guff it and almost get 9th. I'm pretty choked how I lost 5th.

I had a good fight with Gilliand for a few laps, then pulled away into 5th, and it was pretty much smooth sailing, as I built a 7second gap on 6th, and had a 7 second gap in front of me on 4th. I was almost certain Blunder was in the top 4, but as I was moving around the back markers 6th place starts making large chunks into my gap on him, next thing I know it's Mr.1:02 Mason behind me, so I basically yeilded 5th to him after on pathetic lap attempt to hold it. After this lap I got to thinking "where the hell did he come from, and why was he behind me?" and I flew off T1 a little to fast and destroyed my front end. Blew a 14 second gap on 7th and 8th, and was losing time on track due to the damage pulling me to the right and affecting my overall top speed. I literally ALMOST lost 8th place to TinMan whne I crossed the finish line.

I couldn't beleive whne I saw the Race finished message, I was so releived.

I'm happy with 8th, But I'm really ticked off I lost 5th in that manner. Oh well, probably my only chance this season to score decent points, and I got a bit more than I usually would have.

Fun race all! Ruskus, you owe us an erotic webcam dance with an umbrella

Great fun all thanks!
Qualified with Pb in 5th.
unforced error into the last corner on lap 2 left me in 11th ! rats!! :P
Spent the whole race getting back up to 5th! Can't complain, I guess!
Had some very very close racing with some very good guys, Mike in particular!
I was soo much faster than you Mike but could I get past that tank of yours!
You made it very wide! Legally I must add!?  ;)
I only got past at all after the smallest of errors over the crest put my nose in front into the next corner.

Great racing! Thanks to all the lapped cars for helping me through! Much appreciated.

Wow this is soooo much fun!  Would love to drive a tank but those tyres go off soooo quick!
Not that you would notice watching JR !

see you next time all

Interesting race. Was surprised by my qually lap, and 4 drivers were within 0.025s  :o.

PR just took pole at the end, but I used the Falcon power to get into 1st before T1.
I only had the power of defense, and I was driving me nuts off to stay ahead in the corners.
Shame it happened again. There was a spun backmarker and I had to get around him, leaving the banks. That lost me momentum and grip and also 1st place. Halfway down the lap there are no straights, so I was done for. Tyres were already too shot, and the Alfa is just too good ;).
Had 2 other drivers still behind me like vultures ;D. Waiting for me to mess up :P.
Was some rubbing here and there but the mightly Falcon doesn't feel a thing :P.

Grats PR :).

Enjoyed that one.
Had a close Stang -v- Stang battle with Mark Mc for the first 20 laps or so. We must have been lapping almost identical times.

Lost a couple of places in the last 5 or 6 laps, but surprisingly didn't make too many mistakes with the Stang and managed a respectable finish just outside the top 10.

That was the maddest race I've ever done  :o

Very slow start bottled up behind 2 Cortinas that were slow away, found a gap into T1, trying to trundle round with everyone else, the car in front checked up suddenly and I tagged him :(

Carried on as fast as I could but could only just keep up with some of the euro cars and the tyre temperature was going up and up!  Had a good fight with Martin as he recovered from an off, and I nearly wiped us both out with a huge tankslapper  :o  The laptimes were staying consistent, but the car was more and more sideways to keep it going ;D  Finally took 6th when Phil fell off with 2 laps to go, my grip was non-existant by then!

Phew!

What a mess!!! sorry all, got round the first corner and saw a big blue yank tank froze right in front of me  :o tried to avoid it but spun out and ended up going backwards looking at you guys coming straight for me, real scary :o sorry to all who's race it messed up cant apologise enough. great race when the dust had settled tailing SBG and Dave, couldn't find a way past those big wide  Falcons. hope it wasn't me who nudged you Geoffers you where a bit in front coming down the hill then the next minute you where right on my bonnet, didn't feel or hear any contact, then you disappeared all together.

No problem ;D.

Not that you would notice watching JR !

My tyres were gone after 10 laps or so  ::). This track is just a reversed oval with a lost lefthander ;D, so not only was my front left somewhere other than my car, my rears were also very lively. Just ask Steve and Bara :P.

Well that was brilliant in part and part ruined by my own stupidity.

Falcon and then spun by a following 'slow' car who simply ran right into the back of me

That was my fault. Earlier in the race I noticed you did brake much earlier into T1 than me so thats where I attacked. My tyres were shot and I couldn't make it. Sorry. Also sorry to Mike Cooper for T1 mess. Gotta say it just jammed up at the front and everyone behind did their best to avoid contact but I couldn't avoid it.

Around my daft mistakes there was some excellent racing. Stand out section with Geoffers, Ade and Bill. I couldn't get past Bill and they couldn't get pass me :). Great stuff not to clatter me. Bill, there were a couple of times you warped badly from my end and really not sure what happened when we made contact. A real shame though :-[ Had to laugh when you clattered into the back of me as I waited for you. Had to wait again then but really that was your fault ;D Also remember a rather good pass on me by Sandor, nice one.

Congrats to the podium :) Also thx for the great turnout.

Good race folks.  Had a great scrap with Berni Lomax for alot of the race even though he was clearly faster and that red Alfa of Drakes, good battles.  Could not see alot of people at the start of the race (half the field infront) so apologies to anyone that may have got punted .

Congrats to the podium.

cyas for the next one !!

Cutting track again

 :-\

Yes, after two penalties for jumps starts in prior races, I now managed to collect a s/g for cutting the track...

.. a little bit of Jos Verstappen red mist perhaps...  :D  (partly because it was my highest qualli position by far..)

I've always loved Limerock. Ever since I started sim-racing in GTL's it has cropped up in one season or another. After some very encouraging practise sesssions, with the P'boys, I was rather optimistic of a good placing tonight. And so it was that after qually I was unusualy high up the order in 7th I think. Here we go I thought. Now here's a tip for all you boys reading, never try to leave the start line in 2nd gear. It's not big and it's not clever. He's not the Messiah etc etc. So that, coupled with the first turn dodgems, kinda did for my high ambitions of podiums, champagne, pretty girls. Still had whopping dollops of fun making my way up the field. Particularly enjoyable was Mr Gymers very wide tank. Passing him took a few rethinks. Bet I was one of the cars he was talking of earlier. DOH!
And a huge sorry to Ade for the stupid stupid pass attempt that made you spin at turn 1.
Anyhow really really huge fun. Thanks to everyone for making it so. Can't wait for the replay. And well done Jeb on that finish. Gee guy I know how much you deserved that.

Excellent race! Really have missed simracing!
Had a scare in qual when I got disco'd from pole but i'm hoping it wasn't related to my connection coz the rest of the race was fine. I assume I wasn't lagging for anyone this time?

Had a Battle Royale with Steve and Jeff for the entire race. It looked like being quite a processional race until JR's tyres gave in, but it was still really hard/impossible to make a move that was going to stick coz the power gets him out of trouble every time. Really interessting trying tho :)

Jeff's falcon was doing a good impression of a pinball flipper with his rear, knocking the little ball bearing cars out of the way (not on purpose I hasten to add, just a symptom of us trying to get close enough to get into a corner first!)

Grats to PR for finding a way through!!

MJ - I notice u also bombed during Q - did the same happen in race?

Good to be back!! :D

Final straw was getting run off by another Falcon and then spun by a following 'slow' car who simply ran right into the back of me

I think the slower car was me, I'm sorry I looked out for you to let you pass but unfortunately you'd quit.  I had been in 12th place for long period with BSG and possibly you (looked like the same livery) behind me SBG was lining me up at T1 so I took a tight line (don't know if I had frame freeze then or not)but he hit me.  He stopped twice for me but I misunderstood him and tail ended him each time and we both lost many places.  It was whilst we were trying to get past you the incident occurred.

It is extremely difficult trying to pass a Yank Tank covering most of the track and trying to get a cleaner run into a corner is the only way and hope travelling in a straight line overcomes the sideways Yank Tank.  Early on in the race I had a similar problem following a Mustang.  We had a slight bump when he was almost broadside after that i slowly pulled away.

Once again sorry.

Bill

That was a great race, just spoilt for me by a faintly disappointing result given my race pace.  Ran almost the entire race in the JR train stuck behind the big, wide, Falcon.   ;D  All 4 of us covered by about 1.5 seconds most of the time.  Amazingly close, but very little contact considering how tight we were and always gentlemanly racing.

Tried tentatively to get by PR several times, I reckon I was a little quicker than him, certainly at the start, but my middle gearing was hitting the limiter at the end of the main straight every time I pulled alongside.  I didn't want to do anything stupid so no lunges.  Kept swapping places with Bara (great to have you back :)) as I got baulked by JR and PR, but it was pretty easy to breeze back past the mini given a few laps, Bara had slight understeer in a couple of places that lost him momentum.

Then running an easy third, thought I'd try a speculative move round the outside of Ruskus' Falcon in the left hander, knew it was a long shot but if I could stay outside him I'd have the inside of the right hander where I was always really quick.  Of course we banged doors (fairly, though) and I went off track.  Bara went through, but knew it would only take 2-3 laps to catch and pass him and then the race ended, I'd not checked my LCD for several laps and lost count.  Numpty, would have played it safe in 3rd if I'd known.  Keep throwing away potential podiums with silly misjudgments and errors  :'(

But it was a fascinating and enjoyable race.  I was definitely wrong about the V8s being competitive here.  Must have been a second or more a lap slower.  If my front left tyre was going by the end then no wonder Jeff's Falcon was all over the place.   :D
