Gonna switch to this from my original plan of GT1 sprint as I might actually make Monza for this champ. Taking the Lister after a bit of tweaking and happy to use it instead of the S7.

Anyone else racing? V quiet here!

I'll try the "proper" Pirelli Saleen.  :)  Not that'll do me any good here.  ::)

I will be there in the trusty Team Pseudo F550 :)

Hoping for a race pace of mid to late 1.43 and no rain.

See you there.

Good Fun.

That turned into a simple battle to keep the engine alive from about lap 8 :'(

The reliabilty on the 360 was dropping like a fruit machine. :o

Some how made it to the end. ;)

Bah, finished 8th after starting 3rd on the grid by getting my qualifying in before it started to be a bit damp. First/second lap coming through Abbey right behind Pseudo, but his Saleen didn't accelerate as I had expected and I spun taking a lift off to avoid hitting his rear end. Ended up on the tarmac runoff, but couldn't see anything down the road even with 90 degree right glance angle so I simply waited for my position to be last and then set off. Got past the GT2s pretty quickly and then past the two yellow and black tail-end GT1s. Then took me quite a while to reach anymore GT1s, eventually getting Nsfast. A couple of laps after that I lost the rear end taking T1 too fast and somehow avoided any major contact with the barrier and that really was the end of getting any higher. Had to repass Nsfast and that was it for the rest of the race. Took my pit stop and Madd-Rip took his late to come out 4 seconds ahead, but with traffic and his greater pace I was never going to get another place.

Maybe I should have gambled and taken the cheating MC12 after all, as I did a 1:41.1 in that in practice with no proper setup or track-time, but it's so unfamiliar to me that I didn't want to just drop into it at the last minute and hope I could do 80 minutes on it without a proper setup.

Anyway, well done to Joss for the race win in GT1 despite losing his force feedback half way through the race. Also to Purdie who I think won GT2, good job!

My computer crashed with 13 mins to go. I really hope my car didn't cause any accidents. Never crashed before.

Unlucky. Don't think so, your car was frozen just half on grass half on tarmac coming into Abbey, but you could see a long way off and it was easy to avoid.

Really good race, grats to Freq for his stunning pace.

I started 6th, gained 3 places after a spin and an overtake on Pseudo. Kept chasing Reign Man but couldn't really catch him. Very entertaining to lap drivers, thanks all for being so clean. Gotta say sorry to somebody in a Lambo that I tapped in the Abbey chicane while lapping him, waited for him but I was about to be caught by my rivals on track and accelerated as early as he rejoined the track behind me. Sorry :(

I kept 3rd till the end, probably 2 laps more and I could have challenged for 2nd, but another podium makes me happy

EDIT: What a spectacular start of the MotoGP race, Stoner vs Rossi they look crazy lol

Awsome race...started 5th behind Jps and managed to sneak up the inside at club on the first lap and then was battling with SBG, Purdie and Dave , managed to get passed Dave  let mark go by as the rears were going off which they did 10 mins before the end of each stint, at this point i let Mark through as he was quicker. Made my pitstop and didnt have a clue whre i was ...caught the scrapping Dave and Purdie and managed to get passed Dave when he made a mistake at stowe ( i think) but my rear tyres were on the way out and Dave got back passed sorry if i blocked you a few time mate was just trying to keep the car undercontrol! ;)
Let my teamie Mark through a few laps towards the end as he was quicker and got a 5th.
Grats to Purdie and SBG.. great drive mate you were in 21st at one point!! i take it you didnt take any fuel??,  and all the other podiums.
Cheers

Fun race :)

Nice battle with MAD RIP at the start. Sorry to Mcfids for a lame passing move by me. I should have waited :( Also sorry to Mark Mclean for slowing you down at T1 and messing up your race with Dave and Dan Minton at the end. Good fun attempting to hold off TT as well.

I overshot my pit in the stop and had to drive round again, other than that nice race. :)

Great race that...i'm shattered though.

Got a good early qually lap in before the conditions changed so started 3rd

(you were 4th SG ;))

yeah, saw that in my mirrors...never been able to get the power down early in the Saleen coming out of Abbey....but at least it meant I could look forwards occasionally too

I think I spent the entire race with little more than a second between the car in front of me and a car behind me....not any time relax for the entire 80 mins....but suprisingly I didn't fall off anywhere  :o

Had a great battle for 70 out of the 80 with TT....good stuff mate. He managed to pass me taking advantage when a GT2 baulked me a little....quick reactions saved a pile up but the place was lost and try as I might I couldn't get it back....good driving TT.

grats to freq...awesome speed....and to Reign Man and Busi for a great team 2nd and 3rd.

grats to GT2 winner and podium too....excellent passing etc for the entire race.

Really enjoyed my first race, was happy with most of my laps but made a few stupid errors that cost me lots & got my pit strategy all wrong... I'd gambled on seeing some rain that just never arrived. Good experience for next time.

Gotta say sorry to somebody in a Lambo that I tapped in the Abbey chicane while lapping him, waited for him but I was about to be caught by my rivals on track and accelerated as early as he rejoined the track behind me. Sorry :(
That was me, but no worries... I was concerned I'd been too slow getting out the way & was chuffed to see you'd waited & then set off OK again  :)

Well done to the podiums. I couldn't believe the rate some of you flew past me! I've got so much to learn.

Thanks, Pete.

Very enjoyable race for me, qualified 2nd having squeezed a god lap in before the drizzle started. In the early laps I appeared to have the pace to trouble Ginsters but with huge pressure from the marauding Porsche menace behind I eventually made a mistake and they all slipped by. After that I could maintain a gap of about 4 seconds but couldn't get any closer, so I decided to change my strategy and pit as soon as my tyre wear reached 10, change to fresh rubber, splash the extra 10 litres I needed in, and come out to bang some good laps in hoping to get track position when the others pitted.

Threw away 3 seconds running wide out of Priory on my in lap, then lost more with another off after the stop, but it was enough to pass Dan and Mark in the stops, and eventually to be right behind Andy P when he returned from his stop. Thought maybe I could get past him whilst he was on cold tyres but a little problem with Busi running off onto Hangar Straight whilst he was lapping me let Dan past.

I had medium fronts and hard rears and that turned out to be a good move as after a few more laps Dan was obviously struggling and I finally got him when he had a big moment coming out of Club and I got enough of a run to make a pass stick into Abbey.

Towards the end of the race I suddenly realised that I was gaining on SbG hand over fist. FreQ was debating whether to do another lap as he was having technical problems, so we managed to arrange for him to let me by just before he crossed the line so that I had another lap to go after SbG - but Ginsters, being a wily old fox suddenly picked his pace up and I couldn't get close enough to make a move over that final lap. Well done to him, and to Purdie for a GT2 win I wouldn't have predicted with 25 minutes to go!

Sorry I dissapeared so fast - MotoGP was starting! ;D ;D Mental race!

This race though was odd, iffy weather in qually stopped a proper run for pole but still managed to get into the 1:40's, so not so bad. The first 30 minutes were perfect, then suddenly my wheel twitched when I was lapping a Team Oldie Saleen, and I had about half the lock I had before. Was really weird as I was turning the wheel like a road car to get round corners!

Struggled round for a few laps and pitted and unplugged my wheel, hoping it would reset. It improved (got my lock back) but no ffb! Was really weird for the second half as slides were much harder to catch, it felt like using a joypad again. Luckily I had a lead, so could just concentrate on finishing. After a PC restart, the FFB came back but not sure if it's "right" yet  ???

GR peeps - Go watch your MotoGP recordings! ;D

Great race that :) Though it is tinged with a little dissapointment.

First half of race and I had brilliant fun holding up Dave, Purds and Dan. In truth it was ruddy exhausting and I decided to pit early when some traffic came round and give myself a breather. Without the aid of any research I didn't put in any fuel and began short shifting to make sure I reached the end. Things were going well and my pace didn't really drop (that tells me something :)) Came across PR who I knew was taking his normal late stop so I flashed my lights and he happily let me through, nice stuff.

After everyone had pitted I had a 15 second lead with about 20 to go but I just knew fuel was tight. Thought I would manage the gap down and when it got to five second push and see if I could hang on. Twas going well until a less than helpful backmarker wouldn't let me through and I went off trying to push a way past. Thx a bunch. Then noticed fuel was real tight and began looking to Freq to help me out. However, that nasty man had other plans and I had to do another lap with Dave in close attendance. Finished with 0.2 and badly misfiring  :)

In truth, I don't think I would have held off Purds and congrats on the deserved win. Hats off to Dave as well  :) Hope next time is as much fun where I'll prolly take on that 10 litres you mentioned Dave.

Eek, at least you made it. My last lap was very slow as I didn't want to do another lap because of my wheel problem, then asked Dave and he wanted another lap, so didn't think anything of it and let you guys back through! ;D

I liked you better when you were slower!  ;)
With the same car (and the mortals) it's always either waiting for a mistake or pushing the one in front into it. As you didn't seem to wan't to get out of the way, I tried to press you a bit. You slided here and there but not enough to press the moment. At the spoken time I was faster out of Chapel and got alongside just before Stowe but you kept me on your left and I had to stay behind a GT2. So when I saw Dan comming to Club combo (sorry, Dan  ::) ) I seized the opportunity and locked you behind him much the same way.  :-* It's your fault, of course. Stay on the inner side the next time.  :P

Being so close  pace-wise meant that you will have same problems overtaking me. My problem was engine health, it was 88% by then and I started shortshifting, keeping speed through the corners and taking defensive lines. Making Gazza chase me was a bad move - Lambo can't hope to reach Saleen on straight.  :)

I hit Sharky boy when he spinned, lost 4 places and the car had a tendency to drift to the left on the straight but was otherwise ok. Dunno how much excuse I have for being slow the game calculates aero damage and loss of speed.  :P

Indeed the "proper" Saleen was a lot faster than the Dunlop one did at Sprint event. Will be checking Legends cars from now on to see if they have the best tyres. Thanks, Rusky.  :)

Grats to podium, especially to RM to keep the twitchy MC12 going so fast.

@Shark: With MC12 it's never boring - even if you're alone on track.  ;D

TT

The system doesn't know whether GTR2 Manager was running or and so assume it is if the ballasts have been generated. I've removed the ballast and regenerated the points now.

Good race evn though team mate Legzy and I were way off the GT1 pace!?
We banked on some rain to help us out on the pit stops but it never turned up!  ;)
It's very difficult to drive while doing your rain dance at the same time!  ;D

I think we managed to have fun and not interfere with anybody elses race so thats good!

Grats to all, Pace is awesome!

Sorry my fault :-[ I generated the ballasts before reading properly the full race announcement. The race was run without GTR2 Manager so no one had any extra weight. Pity really - cost me 4 places in the table that 1 extra point  ;)

 That wasn't intentional I can assure you. I made a slight mistake round club and Gazza just sailed passed whilst I was correcting  ::)

Doubt I would have been able to pass you again anywhere though...even though my engine health was still 94% my fuel was pretty tight so I had to back off a bit for the last couple of laps....finished with 1.1 ltr left  :sweatdrop: and Madd catching me very quickly.

Sounds like a plan :). I could just turn up with 120kg, not worry about the result and still get as many points as the aliens (maybe ;D). That would annoy them a lot so sounds like a good thing to me. Unfortunately, being the slowest GT1 car in straight line, the Lambo really doesn't need any help at being slow on the straights, so not sure I'd want to. :o

really thought i would be competitive here, but no... ???
got in late so bad qualy on a wet track.Right from the start good fights with Pribeiro, JPS and Picnic.
They were all faster on the straight ( i gambled with a rain setup),so i had to be defensive.
Peter squeezed thru on the back straight ( how did you do that ???) and after i had a coming together with Prib ( it was like i hit a tank)
i was at 21th place.Later i came in and sailed past my crew( in practise i had the last box),so i had to come in again, second stint was better with a string of 1.50's
Race was ok,bit lonely second stint .

Some good close racing last night amongst the lower end GT2s - thanks to Ade, Peter and Jan for that.

Lost my rhythm a bit when the GT1s started to lap us, which extended the gaps. Apologies to HAL9000 when you were lapping me; I went to move over and let you pass on the inside but I didn't see you come up on the outside until it was too late.

I gained 2 places on the pitstops and was starting to make up a bit of time when a stop/go penalty flashed up for speeding in the pits. Doh! Ok, I thought, I can still salvage this race, so I served the penalty and went out, only to be told I was pit speeding again. Double Doh!  :-[

Anyway, enjoyed last night apart my school boy pit errors.

As usual a lack of practice meant I was way off the pace last night. Having been in Kent for the last 3 days of the week then at Combe for the weekend I just didn't have any available time :(

Had some good battles, think I was a little ambitious when I got passed Jan! Sorry for that. I had tried the outside/switch back there the previous 2 or 3 laps and thought I'd try the inside but it wasn't as clean as I'd hoped.

I too messed up my pitstop and got a stop&go :( Shortly after that I decided the armco needed inspecting and being 30 secs plus off the car in front I lost the will to continue  :-[

Think I owe SbG an apology too. Was letting him passed and was too busy looking for his car to spot the braking point - think I missed him but silly error by me.

wow, cool race :D love enduro's

just made it last min to race with a green card from my gf....(who kindly supplied me with beer for 80 mins :D)

love Silverstone and good practise as i'm racing there in Group C at the Classic next week!!!  :-\  ;D

quali was fine, just getting a 3rd before the brief shower. In the the race the top 3 pulled away with me in 3rd..i managed to slip past Dave in 2nd and then eventually SbG...both very fair i have to say, only gave me a gap when i deserved it and not before....quality racing  ;D

ran with 75 litres at the beginning with med/hard tyres, which lasted well and pitted circa lap 30 for 35 litres and a set of soft/med which helped me close the 10 sec gap SbG had extended and hold off Dave G  :o.

Don't know how i lost that much time in the pits  ??? as i crossed the finish line with 1.5 l of fuel...did you have a tyre change SbG??

regardless my strategy paid off ::), helped with an unfortunate incident where SbG got knocked off. He knew I wasn't aggressive so he had a solid chance of holding me off bar any mistakes but a back marker collided with him  :(

grats to FreQ and hope i wasn't a nuisance when being lapped, the only place I couldn't concede was the Maggotts/Becketts bit as you lose too much time but apart from that I tried to be fair  :)  :euro:

I should hope I wasn't a nuisance to anyone else as my wheel as all over the place for a few laps  :-X

I have a Momo racing wheel and when I have a serious opposite lock moment and use ALL of the lock the wheel un-calibrates itself just off centre  >:(, i need to go full lock right and then full lock left while racing to re-calibrate it   :o

Nah mines a G25. Never had an issue with it until last night. It just twitched and suddenly I had half lock, and after unpluging it, I had full lock back but no FFB. Very weird.

Not sure if it's fixed yet. I'll praccy in a bit to test it.

I don't have the Momo but when I was reading up about what wheel to get I read a review ( http://www.pcrules.com/LogitechMomoRacingFFWheelReview.shtml ) that mentioned "the wheel occasionally loses its centre", but "can easily be fixed by using a program available" from http://www.wingmanteam.com/files/Patches/momo_racing_center_fix/

As I said, I've not tried this or if it's the same problem you've got... but I thought I'd mention it. Hope it helps.

Don't know how i lost that much time in the pits  ??? as i crossed the finish line with 1.5 l of fuel...did you have a tyre change SbG??

Yep, a new set of meds all round. No fuel though and with hindsight that was a bit of a mistake :)

No worries Picnic. You did give me quite a thump but it frightened you more than me. I prolly broke earlier than you were expecting,

Be rude not to thank you, Dave and Dan for some high quality stuff last night. Also the GT1 boys were very patient in race and sorry to the pink 550/575 (?) that I scared the pants off when I was thinking about the pit entry instead of the corner I was on ::) Really enjoyed that race.

Quite a good race that, even if it was a bit lonely  :(

Quali went ok. It quickly became apparent that it was going to "Reign" :P  so I went out quickly to get a banker lap in. it was a good lap, good enough for second :D After the banker lap I really pushed to try and get a PB but I went straight into the back of Legzy at the end of the hanger straight.  Oops! really sorry mate, I kinda zoned out  ::). After that it started raining and so I did a few laps just to check out the conditions.

The race itself was pretty quiet, FreQ was just too quick as I knew he would be.  I was extremly worried about my tyre ware so I tried to be as smooth and fast as possible and had a good pace. By the end of my first stint Busi was gaining on me quickly as my tyres were finished after around 35 mins. I had had a good stop and was able to pick up my pace and rebuild a gap over Busi. With around 10 mins to go I came accross Nfasts "Ghost" after he disconected and hit it sending me into the gravel. Very strange, I saw it move off track whille I was rejoining.  ???  Thankfully the gravel worked and I escaped major damage.

The 15-17 second gap I had to Busi was cut to 4 seconds, I was really struggling with the car but thankfully I was just able to keep the pace up to keep the place to the end of the race. One more lap and Busi would have sailed past me  :sweatdrop:

Grats to FreQ.....with his wheel problems, great pace!!

And thanks to all the GT2's no poblems at all......Apart fom the one where I got sideways under braking during an overtake into the second chicane. Sorry, whoever it was, I hope I didn't hold you up too much  ::)

See ya at the next one

RM

Apologies to HAL9000 when you were lapping me; I went to move over and let you pass on the inside but I didn't see you come up on the outside until it was too late.

No worries mate, it was over aggressive by me. The other times I passed you were fine and all GT2s did a great job letting me pass. :)

No worries, I was so nervous during qualification I was convinced I was just in everybodies way & felt like I was all over the place! I think Martin spent more time telling me to relax then he did improving his own times. Cheers Martin, you really helped me out this week
