Season 16 - Historic Trophy

The races will be run as follows:

Car set: 66 F1 only
Date: Every second Tuesday from 16th September 2008
Time: 9:00pm (30 mins practice, race starts at 9:30pm)
Race Length: Long
Damage Model:  PRO
Server: 3.UKGPL

Yes Syd will clarify when he allocates the drivers to their chassis.

Might show up for some races, not very certain though.

I'd like to stick to the 2.0 Brabham on the 2L front if possible... Don't know about 3 litre car which would be suitable but lets see Syd's proposal first.

Just not that ghastly looking Lotus 43, with the caravan-friendly mirrors :P

Think I shall stick with the ghastly Lotus 43, as it's the only thing I have any experience of.  And it goes down the straights well.  ;D

Probably use the BRM P261 for Formula Hooligan.

Looking forward to being able to join the Point & Squirt Brigade on the fast tracks.

The only problem is my ADC commitments, which are also in Tuesday nights, hence why I can only commit to 75% at this stage

I've received permission from the other half so hope to join you guys in this season as well as the beginners ;D

I'll be curious to see how many races I complete with no Shift-R's!  ::) (managed the last one ok though  :angel: )

Just to clarify as I'm new  ( :-[ ) Do I get any choice in the 2 chassis I'll be using or is it entirely down to the moderator (Syd I guess?)  :)
Just wondering wether I need to start working through the cars sooner or later to find a favorite as I havn't spent a huge amount of time with this mod yet!

As far as I know, Syd has had a re-think and is planning to give drivers more of a free choice rather than allocate specific chassis.  What I do know is that there will be 2L only and 3L only races so you will need to get some praccy in one of each.  I think you'll probably get a free choice for the first race,  after that there may be restrictions on chassis choice depending on your championship position.  Syd will advise in the race announcement  :)

Having been unable to go 5 seconds without changing gear in the Honda for last night's novice league I think I've settled on the 2.7 BT11 if that's ok  :)

It'll give my clutch pedal a well deserved break!

Adjusted my work arrangements......So I should be able to make all the rest of the Historic races. Not really fussed what cars I drive, I'll test a few and see what I like, or Syd can assign them if necessary to boost team numbers. Count me in!

After a bit of a test, my prefs for Historic would be 3L : BT19 and 2L class Ferrari 246, if thats ok Syd? ;D

As a newbie I would expect Syd would give you your choice of chassis.  He's tried to allocate the established fast drivers to the slower chassis to try to keep the racing as close as possible.

Hi all,
I have yet raced last Tuesday after have been invited by Paul so I present myself here.
I'm 52 and live in North East of Italy. I have been racing on line GPL, my first Sim, since May '99 in Gpvl a F3 league. Then joined Mara league in 2000 and still race even if not anymore with Gpl. In 2000 joined VrocF2 Club and still race F2 on Saturday afternoon. I have been running the F2 and a the F3 Italian league till last year, this year we had to suspend the league cause not enough drivers interested with.  :(
Now I'm very interested in this Historic season with '66 mod. that I haven't had many occasion to race with till now.

Welcome to UKGPL Fulvio.  I've actioned your registration and you now appear in the results table here (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=192&theme=6).

There are only a couple of rounds left in this season (16) but we will be running a 66mod Historic division next season (17).  We are hoping to start Season 17 on 1st March 2009 if everything goes to plan.

If you want to create a team you will need to click on the LM2 tab above and then the Team Management link.  Follow the instructions there.  Good luck with your English, it's much better than my Italian.

It's quite close at the top of the division, there are 4 drivers in contention for the title.  We haven't had full grids for this series this season so there should be room for you but we will have to check with Syd in chat to make sure he is happy for you to race.
