Not sure what to do here. Normally I'd run the Lister...but Jeff's here and I'd like to give him a race in the S7 ;D

Is it OK if I switch back to the (slower for me) Lister after he's buggered off back to Oxford? ;D If not, I'll have to stick with the S7 for the rest of the season :(

Oh for f.... sake >:(

I was actually looking forward to this, set my best time in qual and with a small grid was set for a good race with Martin at the rear of GT1.

Good luck everyone. Hope it goes well.

I think somebody had painted a target on my car. What should've been a great race ended up as a barging match - not always with people I was racing either.

Wish I'd started on hards now too.

Shame for you Spanner.

I had a ding dong battle with a number of drivers and of course my arch nemesis TrueTom for the last 3rd of the race. Unfortunately Martin had spun on the last corner as myself and TT came up to lap him and I brake as hard as I could (smoke pouring etc) but I could not avoid. TT hit me in the rear as he couldn't avoid either and the front end of my car was destroyed. I had to do the entire lap with practically 3 wheels and the car dragging along the floor like a pirate with a wooden peg. ;D Pitted and did the last few laps in the hope that driving a Ferrari meant I would pick up the race win anyway after a stewards enquiry (still waiting to hear from them!) Picked up one place from Hal I think who's engine blew, so was worth carrying on.

No probs Martin, just racing.

Thx, see you soon.

Cracking first half of thr race for me great battle with Jan Duiji, picnic, and Gizmo.

When I eventually managed to get by Jan Duiji about half distance, I had a chance to check my instruments :o realised that my engine was cooking itself (3 Radiator setting, not enough here at Dubai) after that it was a case of nursing it home I am afraid :'(

Nice to see Jeff hasn't lost his form, Well done Podiums ;D

Hmmmmmm....not greatly chuffed with that one.

Lost a place on lap 1 to a very late move at the end of the back straight...managed to leave enough room for it only to result in minor contact though, kept my nose in the inside up to the left, but wasnt left any room and had to brake hard to avoid taking two of us out.  :o

Tyres went off around lap 8 or 9 and the car was a nightmare for a couple of laps...lost a place to Simon due to that...although I enjoyed the side by side stuff for a few corners  ;)

All came to an end though, I passed two battling G2's on the main straight but didn't quite have enough room to get the third one so had to brake a little early to avoid running into it, only to have one of the two I had just passed ram me very hard up the rear.....had to wait for a couple of cars to pass before rejoining (on my own I may add) and found the back suspension/wheel badly damaged and couldnt continue.

Grats winner and podium.

Never really got on with this track and it showed, rushed a setup but managed a pb in the race (amazing quali pace btw) weirdly?

Had a real good fight with Simon until my steering whell decided to unclamp itself from my desk ::)  :D and a quick bit of readjustment meant I lost the place to him, after that i just basically plodded along, not really making any headway to those in front, so I decided to just get to the finish.

My finishing postion doesn't reflect how awful I was around here, I lucked in mainly due to others misfortune, but hay ho, that's racing.
(unless the dastardly Ferraris call me up on having a black car or something! And relegate me  ;D )

Great race - seriously close between me and Jeff.

Only big mess up was the cardinal sin - never take your team mate off  :-X :-\ :'(
Ran into Dave whilst we lapped him for the first time, trying to slip through with Jeff. Mistake on my part and messed us both up - I'm expecting my Ferrari sourced 25 sec penalty in the post >_<

Think I might have been able to get Jeff at the stop had it not been for me losing 6 seconds to him in that incident. Fought with Busi straight after that (albeit briefly) trying to get back on Jeff's tail. Really close until the end, and even with the small spin a few mins from home, was really close at the flag - just no way past him.

GR chaps! I'm going to sit in a darkened rom now and not play GTR2 until next Sunday  :P

Really hard race, I don't know which is the pace difference between the S7 and the Vette but I feel very happy to only have finished some 10 seconds behind the two aliens

I had a very good race, very consistant and nearly no mistakes. Got ahead of FreQ for 4 corners before he passed me back (I didn't put up a fight cause I knew he was gonna pass me very quick anyway lol). Really pleased with 3rd.

Grats to Jeff and FreQ, and GT2 podium as well :)

Well that was rubbish, completely and totaly, but also all my own fault. Very disapointed with myself tonight, my qual time was a full 4 seconds slower than my PB.  :-[  I just don't know where my pace has gone.

I will be back and I will be better.

Well done to the podium guys, the GT1 action looked hot when they came past me.

Great race that,  8) really enjoyed it apart from 2 laps mid race that cost me 1st or 2nd GT2  :'(

Joined late and got GT2 pole with my only flying lap, so was pretty pleased with that  :)

First quarter of race was spent fending off Everts attacks as the two of us pulled away from the rest. Eventually i pulled out a few seconds over him and had a quieter time of it for a few laps before my nemesis Mark Mc in his flying porker appeared on the distant horizon of my mirrors.
He proceeded to catch me within about 3 more laps like i was just cruising despite pushing as hard as i dared in the very hot temps.
We then had a cracking battle for about 10 minutes or so with him applying all sorts of hard pressure on me and when he outbraked himself twice and went off i thought i had 1st place in the bag as could see no one in my mirrors.
I was wrong!..he re caught me again within a few laps and once the Gt1 boys joined the fray i got distracted enough to just brake a tad too hard at T1 and the rear end came around in a long 180 degree semi spin and he scampered past. :(
That rapidly turned to disaster as my hard rears went red hot and no matter how gently i tried to brake over that lap the back end came around again. I had 3 spins in two laps and lost not only 1st but 2nd place too to Evert  :'(
It was murder until i pitted for new tyres at the end of that lap. They werent even over worn, just 13 but i couldnt get them to cool back down.
After the pitstop i found myself down in a lowly 5th or 6th GT2 but i was absolutely flying on my new tyres and got past a few cars until i caught Peter and Jan.
We had a frantic 3 way fight in the infield and were 2 abreast when Pseudo came steaming up in his GT1. I feared the worst in the braking zone as 3 GT2's and 1 GT just doesnt fit !
Alas Jan and Pseud came together and Psueds Gt1 span across into my path but fortunately the contact wasnt severe, losing a few secs, i was able to press on and catch Peters BMW again.
It was shaping up for a climactic battle to the flag but again GT1 intervened and Peter got wrong footed by a lapping TS car, allowing me to get past on the grippier side of the track.
I finished 3rd so was pleased with podium but had hoped for 1st or 2nd tonight as had the pace to win. Those 2 laps cost me dearly.
Brilliant races with Mark Mc, Evert and Peter on the night  8)

PC problems meant a late join for me. :-[

I then had the rad opening too low, had to massively short shift for the whole race and still blew my engine with about 2 mins remaining. I also had no Force Feedback for the whole race which felt very strange ::)

Hoping for a better performance in the future ;D

Well done podiums.

Pressing hard all race, then ran out of fuel with 400 m to go.  ::)

Felt strange in quali, couldn't make a good lap, was off my pb more than a second.  >:(  Had to push harder in race then, though I don't think I made any irregular moves.  Some might be seen a bit pushy - but with the same car they had to be. Watching real life F1, Porsche Cup and GP2 races, we drive very friendly.  :D

Had some close laps with all the mortals, had to make some bordering moves when lapping GT2s - sorry Dave, but when Simon passed you I wasn't gonna be left behind. You wouldn't want any rumors about interclass team favoritism, would you.   When Shark lifted off when Marting spun, I didn't see it on time as I was preparing exit for overtaking. Hit Shark from behind and he hit Martin. Wanted to wait, but when I saw Shark lost his splitter I drove off as the driver behind me (Gazza?) was closing fast. Was strange to see I had a bent sticker while Shark lost the whole front of the car.  ::)  I hope you're not holding grudges Sharky, I don't think I could do anything at that point.  :(

Comparing the cars with RSR I must say I had to fight Saleen a bit to make it go where I wanted it to go, while RSR did exactly what I wanted. Must be a setup thing, though I'm getting close to set Saleen up - for me.  :)

TT

Well, that was a bit of a solo cruising event for me.

Had a few good laps racing against Reign Man in the beginning, but it seemed like you got nervous or distracted after some laps. Once I got past, both the car in front, Busi, and Reign Man in the mirror got smaller and smaller. Drove with +3 to Busi for a while, but it went up to five when we lapped the GT2's. Gained a few tenths, lost a few tenths. After the pits and cold tyre lap it was +8  :(, even though I've now learned of the manual ignition at pitstops. Plodded along (is that a word?), lost focus lots of times, and my eyes started to hurt towards the end. Went out on the grass several times. Busi must have had an incident towards the end as I closed up enough to see him.

Funny thing is that I like Dubai, and it should suit the noobmobile I was driving, yet I'm always a bit off the pace here. Well, a bit more then I think I should be, that is  :D.

Accidentally discovered as much as three tenths in the hairpin before the last straight (I think), but it was a partial slip/slide getting the car turned without drifting away, and I couldn't reproduce it.

started the race last night with soft-med accidently, only realised what id done when i thought the front end was so grippy and twitchy on the opening lap :o.  Had to make hay before they wore out and make up as much ground as i could.  DMN had a spin near the end of lap 1 or 2,  JPS was next in line and it took a few laps before i got close enough to dive up the inside under brakes.

The next couple of cars was Dave and Jan and i just had to break up their battle .  Got Dave under brakes and on the same lap i think i got Jan exiting the last turn,  a brief look in my mirrors at the time told me Dave was trying to do the same to me coming off that last turn.

Soon caught up with Evert and Mark.  Evert ran wide at the long left hander just before the back straight, he rejoined alongside me but i had my nose infront and kept the place.  Started chasing Mark,  heading up the start/finish straight and got a great slipstream from his car which let me close right up and have a dive underbrakes but i couldnt stop it and ran wide at T1.  Next chance came at the end of the back straight after yet another good tow i think... but somehow i found myself on the wrongside for the next turn as Mark had the inside ???.   Same time a couple of GTs were passing so i ease off to let them pass and MJ had a bit of respite:laugh: for a moment or two.  But not long after that he had a spin at T1 and i was through.

Was fairly quiet from then on and after my pitstop i seen nobody expect the GTs,  but the first half of the race was action packed, well for me anyway !!

Cyas at the next one

started the race last night with soft-med accidently,

how the heck did you get those tyres to survive in the 45 degree heat ?  :o ???  I was running hard rears and even they were cooking around the 46 minute mark..ie after my battles with you ! Admittedly my rears only stayed red after that half spin at T1 but even so i would have thought your soft/med combo would have melted in those temps !
you must be an annoyingly smooth driver  ;)

Great racing with you once again! just stop being so damn fast will ya?  ;D

Not a bad result in the end but only coz of others problems, was well off the pace really.

TT got past me after a few laps but managed to stay within 2 seconds of him. Lost alot in the pitstop again for some reason and came out 10 seconds behind TT and Reign Man.

Reign man went off and i started catching TT as he seemed to struggle for a while and i got very close and just tapped him on the tight left hander (Very sorry TT) tried to straighten you up and let you go again. This let Reign Man passed again but then he went off soon after and then TT ran out of feul so an unexpected 5th.

Grats podiums

No probs Martin, just racing.

Quite a good race for me!?
Lapping very slow but got 2 seconds off my pb in the race itself.
Being the slowest GT car I did get dragged along with the guys in front at the start but unevitably they slowly pulled away.
Interesting that my fastest lap was lap 2! and I struggled the whole rest of the race to get anywhere near that pace.
I can't seem to maintain it on my own!?  ???
Really enjoyed it but apart from the fun of overtaking the GT2's then I never saw anyone!   :(

Really sorry Simon, was way clear of you guys but unfortunately the only time I had a problem with the last corner was when you guys where closing!
The backend just started to drift round and I couldn't catch it!  :'(
BTW, thanks again for the Lambo setup's!? Without them I would have been nowhere!  ;) ( Oh hang on I was nowhere  ;D jokin! )
I saw you had a problem and went straight on at the end of the straight. Was gutted!?
Hope it didn't spoil your race too much!?

At least I felt I was pushing all through the race. Thanks to Legzy for another great mod to Simon's set up.

M.

Had some close laps with all the mortals, had to make some bordering moves when lapping GT2s - sorry Dave, but when Simon passed you I wasn't gonna be left behind.

When I was writing this I didn't even know we had contact, didn't feel anything. I followed Simon after he passed you - I was gonna try to pass him on the straight and needed to be in his slipstream. Seems like my nose went a bit wider than I wanted. Also, RM was right behind and if I didn't follow Simon he would make a move to pass me. Sorry again, it was unintentional. :(  As I said I didn't feel the contact, so I hope you didn't sustain too much damage.  :)
