Can't believe they run the GT1's and GT2 around here together! GTC seems far too quick for this place as it is and its very narrow.

oh crap, didnt realise this was tomorrow  :o Jeez, i got so fixated with Spa that i havent run a single proper lap here yet  :(

This track ranks up alongside Adria as a very crap circuit for GT racing IMO. They seem to choose some odd random circuits for the FIA series.  ???
Not looking forward to this round.

God the Mosler's a right dog around here. Its a bumpy circuit but i dont think its particularly abrasive as it seems to take an age to get any tyre temps in even med rears. you can forget the fronts! I'm understeering everywhere. Dont seem to be going that much quicker than GT3's :(

Hm, I should have an advantage here, then.  ;)  I think it's a technical track, suited ok for single class racing. Takes two, three laps to warm the tyres, but then they hold ok. Low abrasion, I agree. Which is good as some sliding around will be great for a change.  :)

With close corners it should be loads of opportunities for smart moves.  :shifty:

managed to get some laps in last night, but not enough to learn its intricasies. Still dont like it, more suited for motor bike racing than wide GT cars and you just dont feel like you get any flow or rhythm going.
The tightening radius turns, narrow kerbs and slippery grass run offs may cause some chaos this evening.  :P
Its going to be very difficult to overtake and easy to have contact !

Like others report, i had trouble getting temperature into the tyres but doubt soft fronts would last 50mins.  :-\
Anyone know if the fuel reading is correct for this track ?

Dont think i'll run tonight, it'll be safer ;) I wont last the whole race anyway. Pit lane is far too narrow and you cant see if anyones coming, track is a nightmare I have no idea in the last section.

dont know what went wrong there. :-\

All was fine until someone joined during qually and then my frame rates dropped by half or so. I had already done a lap with no problem but then that happened.  ???

Quit the lobby and game 3 times to try and solve but frames were shocking and had severe stuttering. Tried dropping my detail levels but that didnt work either. Have had no problems offline with this track.

Tried to stay in the race hanging at the back and tried all different camera views to ease the fps but i was just getting a headache and dropping further and further back so had no choice but to quit  :'(

Despite not liking that track to start with it grew on me with more laps under my belt so shame i couldnt race.

Really poor turnout too  :(

Some great racing there with a number of guys, Picnic, The Prof, Gizmo, and J Duijis but to name some, close tight mature racing.

Sorry to J Duijs, I put my right tyre on the grass :'( and decided to do a 360, heard your engine coming round the same bend and then tried to get off the race line, sadly resulting in getting in your way. Once we both pitted I had to do the honourable thing and wait for you so that you could rightly pass me for position. :) we were having a good battle til then ;D )

Well what can I say?

I still dislike that track...poor grip...bumpy...not a long enough straight to light a fag up.  ::)

but......
MY FIRST EVER WIN AT SROU
[/i]

It was very sweaty work though...Brian took pole but never managed to open up a decent lead...never more than 3 seconds...then his tyres went off about 3/4 distance and I closed to within a few tenths. His backside was waggling badly and I was sat hoping for a mistake or two...and got it as he ran wide and seemed to get a wheel on the ice grass...Just managed to avoid a collision and take the lead.
Never got a moments rest for the entire race from TT either...never more than 2 secs behind and closing to within a tenth or two quite regularly....Great drive though.

YEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.  ;D ;D ;D

First of all grats Pseudo for his first win and TT for second.

I started on pole and felt confident knowing I was going on medium tyres and some were considering softs.

For the first few laps of the race I opened up a gap of 5 seconds or so and was feeling quite comfortable. Suddenly for lap after lap Bob and TT were matching me for lap after lap.

As soon as my tyres hit wear 12 they were suddenly like glass and Bob was reeling me back in and there was nothing I could do.

With about 7 minutes to go the gap was down to 1.5 seconds, but I thought I would make my car as wide as possible to defend lead.

Coming out of the slight sweeping right hander the car just did not turn, understeered so much I clipped the board and spun. I could see Bob and TT racing right at me and I just tried to keep rolling backwards and not make contact. It worked, just.

I've never experienced tyre wear like that. At the end of the race the tyres were only at 26-28 and I've had worse, but I had zero grip. My lap times were 4-5 seconds per lap slower and Mark McLean was closing in.

My car was completely dead and I've no idea why.

No taking away from Bob and TT, we raced on the same track and their cars and driving were better.

Grats to you two.

Must say though, that is the worst track I've used in GTR2 and think that was a big reason for such poor turnout.

Very pleased with my race tonight.  :)

My highest finish so far. I like this track. I think offers the opportunity for some very close racing.

The race started well with me extending the gap to 5th consistently throught the first half of the race. However, once I noticed that Mark McClean had got up to 5th place I knew I was in trouble. Despite my best efforts he was closing up on me at around 2secs per lap at one stage. I had hoped to put up some resistance once he caught up....but bottled it straight away on the final turn and gave him an easy pass.

From then it was a case of relax and watch the laps go by.

Special congrats to Pseudo on his first win. Thanks to the organisers.

congratulations on your win Psuedo   8)

Nobody else had stutter problems then ?  :(

Is anyone who joined late (qually) using a modded version of GTR2?...ie got the recent FIA or ALMS mod installed?  Only asking because it all went pear shaped when someone joined, almost like their car had bad textures/poly count etc and noticed one or two cars with standard skins...just clutching at straws really as my internet speeds were fine.

Looks like we need a recruitment drive  :-\ the grids have got steadily smaller lately. I'd hate to lose our GT racing  :'( cant believe they've all gone to IR, considering the low global numbers on that. :-\

Grats, princes Peypey for your first win!  8)  You said it all in your post, I was ever close but not close enough. Well, maybe on your nervous last lap, I was really hoping you will hold the pressure, would be a shame if you lost it. Grats again.  :)  Bad luck for Brian, MAN I was scared when I was comming closer to your car!

I had no problems with FPS or anything, MJ.  :-\

I noticed Brian ....flickered...on the odd occasion when I was close to him tonight..didn't seem much at the time, but I have just watched the replay and his car seems to be lagging/flickering quite severly on that.

I commented to Gizmo that my frame rates appeared OK, 70 odd yet the game felt like it was running at 20. I had huge dark shadows over the start finish line too, yet couldn't see the stand I guess they came from  :-\

Hate to see what will happen when you LIKE a track  ;D

Congrats to you and other pods.

Shocked at 5th in qually only an hour or so after d/l the track. I was never going to hold that but the early laps were really fun as many places and the odd bit of paint were traded. Car handling went off badly in the second half and once Dave got past there was no more racing for position just survival to the end on 4 tyres with wear of over 30.
Sorry to Picnic as my sideways antics at the last corner must have been off-putting to say the least.

I've got a little confession to make. I was playing with the game with the 06 mods installed. I did make a different install but I had been practicing with 06 mod and I did not restart with other install.         I never realised it would cause problems. I thought if anything it would be me who had issues and apart from a couple of fps hits my game was fine.       I can only apologise to Mark and anyone else that had problems due to me and know better for the future.

Ah i knew it was something like that ! as it only went wrong when someone joined.
A car was flickering to me on track. There was a car in a standard skin looking odd too...or was that you/same car again?

I demand Brians 3rd place and he be dropped to last  ;)  ;D

only kidding  :shifty:

Why wasn't it the same for all of us then?  ???  I'll never understand this cyber world.  ::)

I thought Mr. P was gonna be close, but not so close - he was 1 sec behind the other day on the server. Good progress, Psuedo, congrats again. Your win was announcing itself in the last few races and it was bound to happen sooner or later.  :)

First win is always special, something to remember. I recall mine which was graciously granted by Leuven in NGT Donington in the times of GTR1. I remember Leuven was very patient and fair even after I bumped into him once or twice.  :D

I could never get to the end yesterday with soft tyres, even meds were worn more than 20 - all four. It was funny to see how different and consistent we were on different parts of the track. I usually gained some tenths in the first few corners and Psuedo was faster in the last part. Lap after lap.  :)

Was also unusual to see Brian's car for the whole race just a hundred meters in front - that's a real novel.  :D  But I guess this will be an exception that makes the rule.  ;)

TT

First of all, sorry to JPS - I was trying to tuck up close through the left hand kink to have a go at you into the second right hander, but misjudged it and touched you - I think I came off worse and it dropped me right off our little pack for a while. :-[

Clawed my way back onto the pack and slowly the lines were coming back to me, and I was figuring out how to make the Ferrari work here. Jan and JPS eliminated themselves and Picnic was unlucky to have the mother of all tank slappers take him out of the equation too; then Prof's greater tyre wear let me slip by (I was on soft fronts and medium rears, left front took a hammering but the rest were okay) and after that I just eased away.

Was starting to get into the rhythm of the track towards the end - I knew I hadn't disliked it when we did a test race here, it was just a matter of adapting my driving style to the low grip surface.

Pity about the turnout but we're getting into the late stages of the season now when weeknight races always seem to suffer. :-\

Thanks all....my cloud has landed now.

I was on mediums on the server the other day TT, couldn't imagine being able to make softs last the distance. But after a few set up tweaks and finding a couple of different lines through the worst wear giving turns, I eventually decided on softs all round. Wear was 28 on front left and 24/25 for the rest, which was similar to what I was getting on mediums anyway and I was much more confident (and a second quicker ;)) on softs.

Feels good to get a win...Think I'll try it again....soon.

It's going to be a good run in to the championship too in this event...top 5 are all pretty close.
