Would hate to destroy someone elses race.

I don't recall any trouble with this track in all the years that we have used it in BREASTS league. Famous last words ::) Looking forward to it. With the slipstreaming effect I don't suppose I shall even need my mug of tea to make the straight seem reasonable. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 16 (2008) Historic '66 - Le Mans (Sarthe) - Oct 28 Post by: Hristo Itchov on October 28, 2008, 02:43:09 PM +0000 The long slipstream in 66 mod is a double edged knife, especially on a track such as this one. If you ever lose the pack's slipstream even once it's very likely you'd never see the cars ahead again. ::) They'll get away from you so fast you'd wish to just quit. :-\ Witnessed it at Reims some time ago and I can imagine it being much worse here. :'( So whatever you do, stay close, lol. :D

Currently sat at work waiting for a system to stop playing silly b*ggers and let me complete a Disaster Recovery test. So far all I have is the disaster :( Title: Re: UKGPL Season 16 (2008) Historic '66 - Le Mans (Sarthe) - Oct 28 Post by: Storm_Cloud on October 28, 2008, 06:16:07 PM +0000 I'm also sitting in work dealing with disaster - but this is a real one not a test! I'm just glad I got a few laps in yesterday and my Honda Spa set, which didn't really get a run on Sunday, works a treat.

I've had it up for practice sessions recently without any reported problems but I've never used it for a league race. I have a dynamic IP which is currently set to 84.70.2.30 and shouldn't change between now and the race (I'm not planning to reboot by router) so you should be OK to connect direct if needs be. If you are in IGOR chat the server name is UKGPL_4.
I've set up a couple of practice sessions if you want to try your connection (45 mins praccy with 2 lap race). See you all in chat at 9:00, if you get home from work that is :cursing: Title: Re: UKGPL Season 16 (2008) Historic '66 - Le Mans (Sarthe) - Oct 28 Post by: FullMetalGasket on October 28, 2008, 06:56:14 PM +0000 I'm home at least!
Still havn't decided on what car I'm driving though :-\ Title: Re: UKGPL Season 16 (2008) Historic '66 - Le Mans (Sarthe) - Oct 28 Post by: Storm_Cloud on October 28, 2008, 07:45:41 PM +0000 Take the T1F, Tim - it's a dream in the corners.
Woo Hoo! Work finished so I'm heading home. I might be a tick late for qually but I'll be there. Title: Re: UKGPL Season 16 (2008) Historic '66 - Le Mans (Sarthe) - Oct 28 Post by: Ian Stanley on October 28, 2008, 08:21:29 PM +0000 I'm still at work.....nuff said

Sorry m8 :'( Title: Re: UKGPL Season 16 (2008) Historic '66 - Le Mans (Sarthe) - Oct 28 Post by: Storm_Cloud on October 28, 2008, 09:59:58 PM +0000 I wasn't having a go - you were on the extreme right of the track and I was on the left so we met in the middle. That's just the way it goes. I was just bemoaning my bad luck.

Sorry if my passiong attempt caused you to out brake at Mulsanne Paul :-[ Wish I'd waited longer for my attempt now.... Nevermind, it was a good race while it lasted and I'm amazed at how fast the Fezza is without a tow :scared: Title: Re: UKGPL Season 16 (2008) Historic '66 - Le Mans (Sarthe) - Oct 28 Post by: Syd Drake on October 28, 2008, 10:31:19 PM +0000 (http://img155.imagevenue.com/loc1142/th_33233_news_122_1142lo.JPG) (http://img155.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=33233_news_122_1142lo.JPG)

Just very clinically took the nearside wheels clean off on one of those bloody trees at the start of Mulsanne. Was having a good run with Phil, letting him in the words of Mick Doohan, "tow truck" me around as I didn't have the speed to pass him down Mulsanne out of the tow. Did a PB on I think lap 3, after manageing to avoid the first lap carnage in T1 and T2. Was looking at axe-murdering Phil outta Maison Blanche on the last lap, as the Brab was exiting there pretty clean and fast, but, a little lapse in concentration......and suddenly it was transformed magically into a bicycle, sans pedals of course. Congrats Syd, Paul and Clive.......well driven chaps. Watched up to lap 8 on the live screen til GPL decided I'd seen enough and crashed it's brains out. Oh well, one stupid mistake after driving a good clean race up til then.....sorry if it ended up boring for you Phil, was enjoying the company ;D

managed to recover and hang on in till 4 O Clock BTW Did I mention I'm off to Turkey for a few days so will miss a race or two ? Its 23 deg C in Marmaris ;D C'yas all soon Title: Re: UKGPL Season 16 (2008) Historic '66 - Le Mans (Sarthe) - Oct 28 Post by: Clive Loynes on October 28, 2008, 11:24:36 PM +0000 Numptygraph posted.
http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?p=3911297#post3911297 Lost the tow on lap five. I think it was because I bounced off the wall in the Esses. Grats to Syd and Paul and well done to Bernie. You were hanging in there for a good while there. Subzero temperatures must be good for you. Can't imagine why you would want to go to somewhere warm. ;D |
