The Pitwall is the standard wall that comes with gpl. Most updated mods of tracks have removed the pitwall, If people are seem to be over the yellow line or the wall, you would get DQ in league races. For someone seeing not a wall there and someone is, they are seen with like half a car stuck in pitwall travelling down the straight.

If this helps.

If you want the old papy Armco GFX back for the wall do this .

Personally I have only ever run the standard papy track so can't confirm that it works although I think the old thread says that it worked for Bernie.

They were both much younger then of course!  ;D

Yes, you will probably have a pit hedge unless you change that file too!!

Mmmmmmkay. But as long as I stay well to the correct side of the lines depending on whether I am pitting or not then I won't be penalised? I find GPL to be a very delicate installation on my PC and if it's all working I really ike to avoid fiddling with it unless absolutely necessary.

Your risk, but the instructions given will in no way jeopordise your gpl installation. Mind Clive does say remove or delete whereas it might have been better to say backup these files to another location so you can replace them later.

It's the start rather than your pitstop that is the most likely time you'll infringe the wall area. It's easy in the heat of the moment when concentrating on avoiding all the other cars on the grid to drift over to where the wall would normally be located.

I had a race at Kyalami Thursday and noticed i didnt have pitwall installed, so going to install that tonight, otherwise I might forgot before race.

Thanks Clive and Ken for the advice. I moved those files and the armco is back.

Might drop in for some Kya - but I might be racing around Daytona at last with EOLC.

Server troubles last week prevented the Daytona race from fully happening! >:(

Actually I'd say that pitting without pit wall is when you'd most likely run over it because with the pit wall the pit lane entry is very narrow and it's important to slow down enough - something which I doubt you'd do if you don't see the wall even if you see the line on the tarmac. I use the original papy track anyway so I'm not so sure how it looks without a pit wall, but those are my guesses.

BTW, the link to the current championship standings is wrong, it sends you to season 15 standings.

What an odd race, lol! First Lorenzo falls victim to a blindspot position before T2, then Sam's "valve" expires, then Iestyn's "header", then my own "clutch"! Makes you conclude that GPL has a rather complex damage system implemented though a clutch failure to produce such a flaming explosion seems rather odd to me.  :D The end result all the same though.  ::)

Update: Clive retires with a broken "piston". The list keeps building up. In that relation I should mention it'd be rather practical if GPL simply states "honda" as reason for retiring it.  ;D

Update 2: As Clive reminds me there are still two possible reasons for retirement based on internal damage - camshaft and engine (?). 2 or 3 people still running atm, so who is going to be the lucky one for GPL to ignore by simply running out of retirement options to assign!  :o

Hmm, not a happy bunny atm! I never take people out  >:(

Sorry Lorenzo, I didn't realise you were right behind Hristo after a fast T1, and pulled in for T2. By the time I saw your wheel on the left and turned right, I'd already bumped you which was enough to send you to the barrier :-\. I didn't realise I took T1 so slow at the time, that you and Clive had pulled right up behind us after there was a small gap going down the straight to T1.  :-[

Also, I forgot to try 49% BB, and ended up wide at T1 every lap, before the BRM's header had enough of my abuse and abruptly left the ship on lap 10. Grrr! And doing a PB time twice in qually, 1:20.01... I want a 19 already!! At least someone somewhere is the WDC today...

My debut race in Division 1 was one to forget. After a poor quali I made a good start and gained a few places before approaching Sunset. Sadly the engine had other ideas and decided to blow up in spectacular style. I guess i'll have to have more mechanical sympathy for Monaco.

Hardlines Sam, I lost an engine in my first D1 race at Mosport.  You were fast off the start, I was last- though it helped me to avoid Burt when he span.

Burt recovered and passed me at Jukskei, I wasn't keen to contest the place at that stage and kept close enough behind him.  There were several problems ahead and Phil was struggling with his wheel,  which meant that when I passed Burt as he took his stop there was an unlikely podium on for one of us, which became second after Clive retired.  Burt was only 3s behind so it was going to be tricky, but he made an error and with a good run I managed to hold the gap.

REED's best D1 result so far, though apart from the last laps I hadn't raced much better than Clubmans and it was fairly lonely.  Well done to Will, and it was good to have an all-Clubmans finish!

It's not great to have small grids at pro level, the realistic alternatives are a single 67 division, or to find another league to partner with, as we can't expect to find many drivers of the right skill level.

So it worked....I paid Hamilton's young lady friend to ask all you guys for an autograph before the race while I slipped a few spoon fulls of sugar in everyone's petrol tanks. I dedicate my win to her cleavage.  You all get free tickets to the next Pussycat Dolls concert. LOL

I was super conservative at the start and lost several spots before T1. Got behind Phil and there was no way to get past. He held very tight and I was just hanging on when he slipped off at barbeque. Was lonely after that but found myself in the lead after Clive took his pit. Then I took my 9 sec. stop and it looked like I may have a shot at Evil but his Coop got shot down by the sugar goddess.  ;)

I too hate to see such low numbers in D1. I'm hoping some of the iracing guys will get tired of the monthly payments and come back.

Grats to Jack/Burt. And to Phil for hanging in there with a bruised wheel.

Not a bad race Im was trying to just get to the finish think i was down in 8th most time, then got my way up was going to 4th and then 3rd, but I had made a few spins and grass cutting a few times in race, When i was trying to Catch Jack up, think i closed the gap from like 12 secs to 6secs with 5 laps to go, and I could clearly see him in front when i was going around turn 1. My 1st podium in Division 1.

As to everyone else, its nice to see the Clubman boys beat the main division 1 Aliens like Hristo and Lorenzo

Am I reading this report correctly? Are you saying you did a 1:20.01 in a BRM and were hoping for a 1:19? I've been trying for a neg BRM lap for years and would kill for those times!!

Well I hope you choose your murder victims wisely then, Ken
I did 1:20.01.. twice! ??? and considering the WR is now 1:18.8 (Audran), I'm a good second away at least!

The BRM really is a mystery (mon'star')! I've had my fair share of poor times in the BRM....
The key to my driveability now is just using Joosa setups - changes the handling a bit etc.
Still not ideal, but better than most setups...

(For BRMystery, Phil Woodward now has the BRM WR at Monza - his 2 other BRM times are both positively ranked  ;))

I got near to a 46 at Mexico earlier in the day (was on a lap that was ahead of Joosa WR after exiting the hairpin but span out leaving the esses.....) but settled for a 47.2.. Time to jump in the Lotus (old pb is a 46!)!!

PS. I'm way more jealous of what you've done on your bikes  :P
