Cool, looking forward to a new Lower Endurance series  8)

Time constraints mean that this will be the only series that I will be able to take part in this season but I'm looking forward to some more battles with a few of you towards the back of the grid  :D

Think I'll probably take the Viper...

See you Sunday  :)

I'm tempted to have a go at this. I like the mix of new cars - are there any penalties for changing? I coldn't find any reference to them, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

-5 degrees out there in the land of the Frenchies  :o  Whats the lowest temps that GTR2 caters for ?  It would be like an ice rink at that temperature !

I think GTR2 only goes down to 0, but our weather generator has a minimum of 10 or 15 IIRC.

If the weather holds up i can see this being a quick race, If i managed a 41.7 earlier with fuel the quickers guys will be well under the record.

I would have hoped that the car/physics packs would have given you a booted as possible cheat/ car or track not installed type error. Sadly I don't have any ideas why you'd lose the connection after approx 1 min  :-\ Perhaps the server restart will help?

God, I'm only asking for a small victory just once in my life. Whenever i try and push myself and feel i've made a step forward in matching others do you send me back straight in the cave i came from :hang:

Fired the PC up at about 7.45 and tried resetting the bios back to normal from my earlier attempts at overclocking but on the restart it would freeze halfway through bios start up. tried resetting bios several times but would still hang, but removing a stick of ram seemed to wake it up. Only just got it working at 8.50pm.
I've had enough and might go postal, New motherboard here we come!
I was so looking forward to the race as well :'( :'( :'( :'(

Confirmation that I need a new PC.

Everytime it rains or goes dark my frame rate just disappears.

I turned everything down still further to make the starting line but the flooded conditions finished me off.

I tried a couple of laps but was getting 7-15fps after 3 laps and quit before I crashed into anyone.

The stuttering screen was beginning to give me a headache and it's a big day at work tomorrow so best call all round.

I hope everyone had fun.

Sorry to ask you to quit Reign Man, but after I hit your stationary car for the 4th time, flipping me into the air at 30mph I retired and could see it was causing others problems too (other swerving round your car), so I think it was for the best. :)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 :cursing: :cursing: :cursing:

Can't believe I am still having PC freezes even if I disconnected things to decrease the probability of having such problems....

I was really really pushing the car to keep up with gazza. We were disappearing at 1-2 seconds per lap and I even had a half attempt to pass him. I was on soft wets on perfect temperature, just looking for some water to make sure they didn't turn red. Then on the pitstraight it was all over. I really hope we were far enough ahead so my car didnt make anybody crash :-\

Hope you're all having good fun and also hope somebody will have tried to get close to gazza! lol

:( Not the best start to a season, I did get a good quali, and decided to give hard wets a go, knowing I would be a sitting duck early on but gain consistency later in the stint.

All was going relatively well, even with a couple of spins, managed to catch and pass API, then disaster, pc crashed, soz if it caught you out API.

Z4 has a couple of gfx errors in car, no mirrors and a constant flickering at the base of the windscreen, other than that hope you all had a good one.

Nightmare   Hard Rear Wets got cooked in Quali, so opted to run Intermediates rear in the race  :scared:  bad joice  how I kept it from smashing to ribbons for nearly half the race is a miracle, changed tyres to hards wets and was able to push hard, ended up with a 13th which under the circunstances was a surprise result considering my woes

It was nice to be back on GTR2 after a short rest.  :)

I only decided to race an hour before, but it just seemed more tempting than iracing tonight.

A very steady race for me...which was much needed. I put 100l in at the start with hard wets which worked very well. I could have finished the race without pitting but for the mandatory stop.

Congrats to the podium. Many thanks to the organisers.

Had a corking race!  :thumbup2:

Did my usual trick of getting my car setup earlier in the week and finding good pace, only to not get near the track and car combo for the next 3 days. :( Jumped straight in during qually and struggled to get myself into the 'zone' but gradually found some pace to qually quite well.

Race started well with plenty of action in the atrocious (but excellent!) weather conditions. Saw the track was flooded so had gone for soft wets all round and they were the smart choice  :)
By lap 7 i was chasing Madd for 3rd or 4th until i stupidly double-downshifted at the hairpin  >:( the car beached itself on the high kerbs/wet grass between the apexs and it took me about 20-30 seconds to rejoin and i had dropped to 8th. I had also cooked my rears in wheelspin  :'(

chased Simons Fezza and reign mans warp-zooming car which freaked me out a few times as i took avoiding action of his stationary-ghosting car  :o Saw Simon spank into one ghost and he quickly retired, allowing me to chase off after the front 6 again.
By 1hour i was upto 3rd place, despite two spins at 'spoon' on very worn and hot rears. :( The fresh rainfall was a godsend ! Ive never had a set of softs last me that long in a race, but that late rain just cooled them enough to get me to my scheduled stop. :)
I stayed 3rd for a considerable time and with a healthy 1.5-2minutes lead over 4th onwards when i finally pitted with about 23 minutes remaining, for fuel and a new set of soft wets.
I couldnt believe it when i saw API and Peter zoom past as i was leaving my pitbox !...i was outraged !!  ;D
I then drove like a man possessed on my new rubber and set about making up the 17 second deficit to them, which i managed, and found myself on APIs gearbox. He ran deep and wide at Spoon allowing me past up the inside after a few laps battling closely. :fencing:
I was literally pumped with adrenalin by now  :ninja: !!...Then i had to catch Peters TVR with only about 7 minutes remaining and i enjoyed a great little battle with him for the last few laps, until about 2 laps from the end, when he caught a backmarker at Lycee and unfortunately went into a half spin that i only very narrowly avoided joining him in  :o ..I 'just' caught it in time and slipped through to take my 3rd place back   :jumpjoy:

Was very happy to cross the line with a podium on the opening round and in such treacherous conditions, made even better as a team mate was on the podium with me...a great 1st round for the Legends.  :thumbup2:
I rue-ed those spins in the middle of the race othewise i might have given TT a good run for his money 8)

Well done to Gazza for a dominating win  :) and good work by all the other drivers that managed to finish.

Was 6th in quali until pc crashed  >:(  and by the time I rejoined there was no chance to do a fast lap so had to start at the back.
Put some intermediates on for the start of the race and had no grip at all  >:( >:( >:(
Pitted after 20 minutes and ran the last 60 minutes with some hard wets.

Sorry to whoever I hit when I was splashing around early on, think it was H@L   ???

Great race for me.

Was really suprised to be pole as i tried nearly every tire in qually and my fastest time was with soft slicks when the track said damp.

When the server clicked over to race and it said flooded track i thought its got to be soft wets so went with that. Hope the pace lap was ok as the guy in 2nd (Madd Rip)? left quite a gap to me and i thought i might of done something wrong but i went on limiter straight after the little chicane onto finish straight.

Started well but after 3 or 4 laps my tyres were getting very hot and i thought oh no wrong choice, but i was still able to do good lap times so stuck with it. Busi was right with me and we were pulling away from the pack untill he dissapeared (unlucky Busi). This gave me quite a gap so i just tried to do good consistant laps and i was pulling away.

Somehow i managed to make the tyres last almost 50 mins and was wondering what tyres to put on in the pitstop but then it started to rain again one lap before i was gunna come in so stuck soft wets on again and they were perfect.

Came out with 20 second lead i think and just went steady but was pulling away quite alot and built up a 50 second lead even with easing off for the last 15 mins to make sure fuel wasnt an issue.

Really chuffed with my first proper win.

Grats TT and MJ

Bad luck to team mate RM
Well done H@l for finishing in that Viper, that car must of been hard work in those conditions.

Not too bad a start to the season. A bit more work on the Aston's setup is starting to pay dividends, and the car is great in the wet. Started on hard wets and they worked well until the track was really starting to dry; eventually I couldn't keep them cool and pitted for intermediates, which would've been perfect to the end of the race had the skies not darkened and the heavens opened almost as soon as I'd made the change. Struggled on but a few laps after it started raining heavily again I aquaplaned off in Estoril and had no choice but to pit again, this time for soft wets. They were excellent and I unlapped a few cars, but the gaps ahead and behind were too great and 10th was the best I could manage.

Man, what a race.

Sorry to whoever I hit when I was splashing around early on, think it was H@L   ???

I dont think it was me, maybe Ted. With the weight of the Viper, it probably would have felt like I ran over a cat or something anyway ;D
(PS dont run over cats).

Well done H@l for finishing in that Viper, that car must of been hard work in those conditions.

Mate, it was an absolute nightmare. Really hard work :sweatdrop:

My dry setup was never going to work. I halved the power in the diff, increased the pre-load from 2 to 3, put the wing on MAX, put the rev limit down to almost the MIN and still had immense difficulty getting the power down all through 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears.

I realise now that I should have done allot more wet testing as the tyre selection is hard to get rite. The car only felt good when the tyres were at exactly the correct temp. When they overheated I could not stop, and when they went cold I could not get the power down. I started on soft wets but, it should have been soft wet front and hard wet rear. In the pits I put hard wets on and it should have been soft wet fronts and hard wet rears again (I think). Similar difficulties for Ted in the other Viper as well I think. Well done Ted for gettin that thing home.

Still had some great battles and I am really glad to have gotten to the end in 8th ;D

Well done podiums, especially Gazza who gets his first Championship race win. :)

And well done all finishers.

Positives:
Enjoyed it loads, managed to work my way up to about 7th (from last on grid) when I pitted at lap ten & had the 6th fastest lap time of the finishers (that's very high for me).

Negatives:
I finished three laps down ::) & lost count of how many times I seemed to pit for the wrong codding tyres! ::)

Always finish on a high:
I'm going to enjoy this GTC enduro season massively

That is something which also surprised me. I tried fast laps on hard wets, inters and soft slicks. Although the car was harder to control on slicks, laptimes were the same in the three types of tyres ???

Had also fastest quali lap on soft slicks. Was 4th and was a bit worried about the weather, so I made some last minute changes, were fairly good this time.  :)
I took hard wets on start, even if it did say "flooded". I goped it would not stay this way and decided to reevaluate things at half. Car was ok, though not as the deadly GaZ4 combo. Well done, you two. ;D  Was not aware it's your first win here, congrats for that as well. :thumbup2:  You never forget the first one...  ;)

At half I saw there's no need to change anything, I had a solid gap to back (and front :P ) so I took 10 litres of fuel just to be sure and new hard wets. All in all I was alone for most of the race, except for the first few minutes. Z4 guys were fast, though I had the impression they had troubles to get the power down, I think I outdragged API (or was it Evert?) out of a hairpin.  :-\

MJ, you're promising that duel for some time now. Stop spinning and drive. :-*  Grats to Gazza and MJ for podium. :)
