It's going to be frustratingly difficult for me to make this race, as I'm down in Pompey for the weekend. I hope I'll be back for 8pm, but no guarantees....

I was going to go with the Viper, but after seeing the track selection I don't it will be much fun round some of the tight and twisty tracks, so I'm jumping on the svr now to decide. Most likely the Lister.

"weather-fixed for the full event"

I interpret that to mean it will be wet/dry, i.e. persistant, all through quali and race. Is that right? If so, I'll be there.

Realise I'm in the minority here but what the heck, I'd much rather race with consistent weather. Changeable weather just introduces too many possibilities that I haven't got time to practice for and far more than my brain can handle. I spose I'll have to wait for summer and just race in these events until then :)

That was a cut and paste-ism, now corrected. Sorry.

Gizmo is there any chance of including the 911RSR in GT2?  Since we know it's already performance balanced against the 360GTC, if it's included it could be without any tweaking.
(The 360 appears in both GTC and GT2) The 911RSR only appears in GTC despite a request during the pre season testing.

Seems to have a bizarre left to right swaying motion Spanner, which seems to be heavily exaggerated in the wet, I think you were having similar issues when I looked at the rear of your car down the main straight at Spa at the last race. I find that it just takes the enjoyment out of driving the Porka, (took the 911 RSR out for a spin very recently which gave me a wake up call as to why driving that car was so good, will be switching to to the 911 in GTC) I am sure others may be able to live with it better ie MJ or yourself. Plus the 911RSR comes with a far superior interior cockpit (rendering and looks).

I'll admit its not good, hardly realistic but nothing seemed to come out of the test races. Suppose with all the 'realistic weather' its going to be mostly wet and cold anyway which doesnt suit it. A few people seemed to think they solved it, not sure how. Though isn't it on GT tyres rather than NGT ones? Those first few laps were a nightmare, low pressures low grip just exaggerated it.

It's too late now - the classes are fixed in the physics pack, they can't be changed on the fly, only by releasing a new pack.

(The 360 appears in both GTC and GT2) The 911RSR only appears in GTC despite a request during the pre season testing.

There are two 360s - one in each class. The 996 GT3-RS is in GTC, the RSR went into G2 because after the initial concern over the 997's wandering habits, everyone seemed happy that it was really just down to setup, and that the RSR had the same behaviour (just less pronounced).

I was planning to run the GT1 Aston but I think I'm going to switch to the Gallardo in GT2, so that I'm running two Astons and two Lambos overall.

How do you start the engine quickly after a pitstop? I keep pressing the starter button, but the engine only turns on say 10 seconds after they say to turn it back on.

you need to set buttons for it in your 'controls' menu. So set a key for ignition and starter and then hit them in the right sequence at end of your pitstop.

I will be in the 997 RSR in GT2 naturally, though was a little tempted to go GT1 enduro this time around.  :-\ ...but the 997 is new to me, so will see what fun i can have with it for a season of endurance racing. Hopefully i will get some fezzas to fight.

In GTR2 XD mod, how can I set the motec info to the lower right corner of my screen?
I've tried changing values in MoTeC HUD postion line inside GTR2-XD.ini, but it stayed in the same place.

Here's how it looks now:

Anyone know what I can do to get it back, if at all possible?

Means I can't get into the lobby.

Oh, I remember my user name but not my password ???

Gutted and annoyed about that :(

Coming round on the first lap it it seemed there was a car off around ever corner. Then while trying to get a run on Mcfids there is someone in the middle of the track round Blanchimont :o. Clattered the barriers and Mcfids , sorry, realised steering was bent so decided to pit but never saw the pit lane lights/ line so ended up with a stop go. The stop took ages to repair then was out of position a few laps down in traffic, ran wide through pouhon spun crossed track, hit barriers and Escaped out before anyone came round.

Nightmare, had a good setup for the race and then got caught up in the huge opening lap shunt at Blanchimont. Had to pit and the car was never quite the same after that and after another big shunt I was way behind everyone else.

Blunder's car was upside down at Eau Rouge for several laps and eventually I decided to try and bash it upright again but then he escaped back to the pits - why didn't you just do that in the first place if you didn't want to continue?! ::)

By the times my slicks were hot enough to start picking up the pace in the hope that Jan's SEAT would need a splash and dash they were fairly worn and after an nth off I called it a night.

The values in the ini file are based on the pixel positions on your screen from something like the top-left. So if you have a 1680 width screen and want to move it to the opposite side of the screen the X: value should be something around 1200.

A good return for me apart from not putting enough fuel in and having to pit 2 laps from the end :(
Freq was alot faster and for a bit I thought the old dog was playing with us ;) I got a bit excited and shot my bolt into the accelerator pedal and spun coming out of the hairpin when really close to Joss. I damaged my front end further around the lap and decided to pit early. Apart from that had a few moments when driving of line in the damp conditions but nothing major. At the end of the race I came across syd drake who I thought was trying to fight us for postion but only later saw that he was close to the man in front and I backed off but that prolly cost him alot of time fending me off. Nobody was near me so, sorry Syd :(

Grats to Freq and Evert on their victories 8)

Race went well, apart from realising I was going to be about 2Litres short of fuel at the end....had to make a splash and dash which at spa is never that, instead it is a long slow crawl to get to the Garage....lost two or three places as a result of that.....the damp conditions were exactly what I needed...as I was just off the pace in the F430 good stable car though, but not quite the 996 RSR Porka..for me anyway.

Thanks. Too late for this race, but now I can turn it on for the next one.
Had an OK race for first time out in GTR2. In the first 20 laps I kept passing an F430 then going off and letting him back in front. In the end made too many mistakes and let him through for good.
This was also the first time I had to think about the weather. I've only raced in GPL and GTL, and it's always dry there. So I started on hard slicks, and that was a wrong choice. Stopped for my only pitstop after 21 laps, put on medium slicks and was 3-4 seconds a lap faster. Should I have put soft slicks on? It looked like light rain out there, so I was even thinking of some intermediate tires.

I was alongside Reign Man coming out of Stavelot and as I turned in to the left kink before Blanchimont the car moved slightly more than I was expecting (Probably because I turned the wheel too much like a tit) and my front left tire touched Reign Mans rear right. This sent both cars in to the wall and then back out on to the track.

What can I say. ::)

Yet another ridiculously stupid mistake from me, this time on the pace lap. Tried to take the last corner in 6th gear because I was saving as much fuel as possible and the car did not turn much so I hit the wall loosing my splitter. >:(

Happy to get 6th but it was most definitely from other peoples misfortune. Was a hardcore race.

Well done podiums. Nice one Gazza getting up there with John and FreQ.  :alien: Believe!

Wow.....really fun race  :D ... grats Evert on GT2 win !!  8)

Got a good time in quali early on to get a pole time and it held, I spent most of the time concentrating on tyres temps, but alas it was pointless!! lol

A damp track at the beginning had me thinking of inters but I don't know the tyre or how hard the compound was so I stuck to my med/hard slicks. Throughout the whole race my temps were below 60 degrees cos of the temp drop! The race start was manic!!! I pulled a lead by getting cleanly thru the first couple of pile ups... :nuke: ...until the one at Blanchimont where I had to go off-track to avoid wot seemed like everyone and glanced off the wall...... damaging the right-corner. Car did seem to handle ok tho :-[ but the right-hand-side was bashed in.

Evert and I pulled out a lead in GT2 and over many recovering GT1 cars and he passed me as I made a mistake twice, just running a wheel into the gravel. In the pit stop I took on only fuel and came out just in front of Evert. I held him off for a lap and we had some great racing!! side-by-side stuff  :P ;) and he got passed. We battled hard for 15 mins until I got a stop/go after getting out of shape at Eau Rouge.... :-\ .... that secured Everts victory ( :P) and I got 2nd  :scooter:

Grats Freq and hope we didn't get in the way too much  ;)

Stupid, stupid, stupid me. Didn't check the weather before hitting the race button. Wrong tires no control. Then about half a lap FPS went to 2. Waited about 10 secs on side of track. Returned to normal about 112FPS. Never had that to happen before. Wrong tires and my bad driving caused me to leave the track again. This time broke it beyone repair. Sorry if I caused anyone a problem.

I don't think there were any right tyres Smokey, they were all compromises tonight really. I think in hindsight, soft slicks would have been the right choice for stint 1, switching to mediums for stint 2. Inters weren't really needed except for maybe the first couple of laps.

The pile up shows how important it is to give each other racing room. UKGTR is particularly good with it's driving standards, so this thankfully is a rare sight.

My 360 spin on lap one was soo cool/flukey  8)

Blunder's car was upside down at Eau Rouge for several laps and eventually I decided to try and bash it upright again but then he escaped back to the pits - why didn't you just do that in the first place if you didn't want to continue?! ::)

Simple equation, too fast, cold tyres, straight on into wall on turn 1, Lap 1! What an idiot! Lukily didn't collect anyone!
Car was upside down but was hoping to be flipped back the right way up so I could limp to the pits. Unfortunately the car kept slowly moving down the hill so I never got that option. Was off the track so didn't think I would interfere with anyone else so crossed my fingers.
When you bumped me Dave I just escaped to get out of your way!

What an idiot I am  !  :-[

Still gutted to have missed out on my favourite track and under endurance conditions, especially after running so strongly in the sprint here  :'(
Never expected the server to be full for endurance. Is it still too dodgy with 32 cars allowed ?  :(

Unfortunately I was caught in the chaos at blanchimont and it was looking to be a good race in the damp conditions, especially as I was up 4 places on the 1st lap. Appreciate the apology Jose.

I knew something was up when approaching Blanchimont as my frame rate suddenly dropped from 80 to 15 and, with spanner looking to slipstream me, I slammed into a stationary Carl on the blind exit. Wow, I just took off!!

Just had a look at the replay and the award of the jammiest bugger of the race must go to Simon; god knows how he negotiated the chaos and debris at Blanchimont. Ever thought of a career as a stunt driver?

Also, amusing moment at Blanchimont 2-ish mins after the crash; a lonely wheel rolls across the track :)

phewee, sounds like i missed a demolition derby !  :o

Still gutted to have missed out on my favourite track and under endurance conditions, especially after running so strongly in the sprint here  :'(
Never expected the server to be full for endurance. Is it still too dodgy with 32 cars allowed ?  :(
Still.... it did leave you with time to spend with the family!! ;D

The only way to do it is with GTR2 Manager and we've had much more stability since we stopped using that...

My best ever drive to date resulting in my 1st ever podium finish. Qualified 3rd in class & finished 3rd in class behind Evert & Purdie (Congrats guys)  8).

However, what should have been a fantastic experience for me was repeatedly spoiled by one driver. I can't tell you how disappointed/furious I was with the repeated driving/actions of a the said GT1 driver  :censored:.
Since I've not had a sniff of an apology for any of your actions, I can only assume you are completely unaware, so to help us all... Incident reports submitted.

Unlucky Mark J on not getting in.......  testing beforehand there were not many GT2s but in the real thing it did pad out a litte but GT1 was more prominent... don't want to rub it in but you would loved that race  :D  ;)

Wise move mate. Talking in 'generalities' the gap between slower GT1 drivers and faster GT2 drivers does close in worse conditions, 600bhp on slicks in the damp isn't easy but does filter out the smoother & patient drivers..... I won't mention my small 'offs' with 480bhp tho  ::) lol

Grats on a solid 3rd, on my s/g on the penultimate lap I was anxiously waiting for your car to fly pass!  :)

Grats on solid 3rd, on my s/g on the penultimate lap I was praying I would retain 2nd!
Thanks  :). I knew you were in the pits from teammates on TS, with about 2 or 3 laps to go & you were about 55 secs ahead going in... but despite me pushing as hard as I could you were still about 11 secs ahead coming out. So I you were still very safe :(. Then on what turned out to be my last lap, I could see FreQ in 1st in the distance behind me at the bus stop, so just held back at the last hairpin turn, so as not to risk stuffing up on an extra lap.

Yeah, I know what it's like & one of the reasons I chose GT2 this time. I spent the whole of last season being 'the slowest GT1 driver' every week. The 1st two/three laps I was always very nervous/conscious of holding up/spoiling the GT2 leaders race. Eventually I'd always either eek out a safe enough gap or have an off, then be patient picking my way back through the field of better drivers, that were racing in a different championship. The thing is, I was shocked to be running so well in the GT2 class  ;D

Congrats to everyone who finished the race......that was a tough one :o

First off, I must apologise if I got in anyones way during the race, my frame rate completely plummeted when there was that big accident on lap one. I decided to pull over to the side of the track and wait for it to right itself, not sure if this was the correct thing to do?

Managed to get myself up into 6th place with only 6 laps to go when I drifted slightly off line going through Eau Rouge and had a massive off :'(
That Corvette is knightmare to control even when the track is only damp!!
I did have a great battle with TrueTom though, where we traded place for place for couple of laps :fencing:...much enjoyment had!! ;D
Looking forward to the next installment......

Yep, well done on the lapping GT2 drivers. I had a few GT2s to pass after my off on the pace lap ::)

I did slow down one GT2 driver when I hesitated entering the bus stop after the GT2 driver flashed to let me pass. Sorry, I cant remember which driver it was but, sorry mate.

That 1st lap crash was a bit like this:

Didn't Cole Trickle hit the pace car in 'Days of Thunder'? He hit every other car & his pit-man wanted him to be perfect.  ;)

lol a classic example of why racing films don't seem to work.......except Le Mans, which is just plain trippy at times!!

The film 'Driven' with Indycars and Sly Stallone....... :'(...so bad  :P

What about the original 'Death Race 2000' movie, also featuring Sly Stalone. ;D (not seen modern the remake yet).

I suppose because its a comedy, it can still be good today. Mind you there are not that many movies about racing even though their are many about cars in general.

Lets hope for dryness at Imola during the next UE :)

Well that was fun! I'm a bit embarrased about my qually lap, as I'd not been under 2:09 in the Lister before.....sorry  :-[

My spin on lap 1 was great! 360, lose 1 spot to Jon and carry on. The big pile up was really nasty as everyone just piled in with no proper warning system in place other than yellows...which I don't think really work in online races. Jon then made a mistake to let me back into the lead and I spent most of the early part sussing out lines to take to stay off the water and try to heat my sodding med-med tyres up. It was trechorous lapping people if you had to go off line.

In the end the gap was bigger than it should have been because of Jon's extra stop, but a good first race! I expect it to be much closer next time out at Imola, and Dubai is my official bogey track (no wins, ever!).

Grats to the polodiums  :thumbup2:
