Well, that was my third race, but the first one I actually finished.
I'm really sorry if I caused anyone any problems whilst lapping me.
I think one of you might have come off in turn one, not sure who it was but sorry mate.
Hopefully I'll do better next time.
Well done to you all.

That certainly was fun ;D

I seemed really slow for the first half of the race. I think I was more setup for a enduro race or higher temps, as I seemed to get faster at the end. I think I was overtaken by about 10 cars in the first few laps. ::)

I almost went into the back of Spanner and did my best to make sure it was only me that lost out from that. Almost always your fault when you go into the back of some one. I think we did not make contact. I was doing my best after going into the back of MJ and JPS at the Imola Enduro. Sorry guys. :-[

Many great battles, Jorgen, Lazlow, Spanner, Picnic and others :D

Really sorry to see MJ go from that one, it was shaping up to be a classic Aston v. Corvette battle with me on the British side and he and Picnic in the Yank Tanks. :(

I think my setup was very different from everyone else's; I was freakishly slow in some corners and much, much faster than most in others. In particular I had great traction out of the final bend, which was letting me get solidly into the draft, even of the Ferraris, but then I was a bit rubbish in the first corner and could rarely make a pass stick. ::)

Had a great scrap with Pete's 'Vette for 10th place. Both of us were struggling for grip in the last 10 or 15 minutes and it was rather comical with us engaged a variety of tail wagging antics, occasionally synchronised.

Seems this track is good for close racing.  :)
had a chase with DG and others at first, wasn't really on their pace so dropped back a bit
MJ seemed to have had some trouble, and I passed him as he off, he caught when I ot ambitious
in the right sweeper onto the back straight, then had some close racing for a few laps
until it looked like his steering broke as he then smashed from side to side of the track
tried to avoid, but just caught him on one of his cross track bounces, maybe bent my
splitter don't know, could have just been worn tyres but i was getting some understeertowards the end
Evert slowly caught, and then passed in a hairpin, did not have the pace to fight back much
settled for 13th. Most fun race in GTR2 for me, was a goodun.

Got pole and race.  8)  My favourite track, I must say. I used a bit tweaked setup from test season and it worked ok. Had some hairy moments when rears overheated after I scrubbed them a bit. It lasted for 5 laps for them to cool down again. Almost got overtaken by Busi, lol, nice braking my man, was scared a bit for both of us to lose it all to RR. Hm. Nice battle you had there, Busi, RR. Glad you had it, as I'd have been taken otherwise.  ;D

Too bad MJ quit.  :(   Glad you enjoyed it, JPS.  :)

TT

First of all, I was sad that you crashed after our contact Jose, but I'm affraid it was 100% you turning into where I was. Sorry anyway as you got the worst part :(

I was all over the place tonight, is it just me or this track has less grip? lol I was sliding everywhere, which made my rears overheat for the whole race and also were more worn than fronts. Made it difficult to control! tough battle between teammates for 2nd place, RR was very consistant in the Lister and I couldn't find a way past. Finally I got him at the backstraight and went for TT

Almost got overtaken by Busi, lol, nice braking my man, was scared a bit for both of us to lose it all to RR.

That was brilliant lol that time I passed (and you re-passed me) I saw a touch for sure, so I took the pedal off the brake for a moment to go wide and so you could retake the position cause it really was a desperate attempt from me ;D great fun there.

Finally starting to like this track. Game crashed in qualifying but managed to get back in a set a good time. Sorry for that touch MJ I didnt feel anything so hoped it hadnt afected your car too much, thought there was room to come back around, maye not.
That certainly was fun ;D

No worries H@L I thought you were trying a move up the inside as i went a bit wide only i never saw you alongside and the gap suddenly grew. Managed to hold of Jorgen but H@L came through again but looked like he tangled with Lazlow so managed to get another place.

Great race, great weather

I have to admit that, it was a bit hard for me to be more aggressive and attack the front then I where :fencing: I just had a great time which, I haven't had for a long time and just felt it was better to play it safe and NOT sorry ;)  Spanner... great driving. I tried a couple of times to overtake, but I didn't feel I could do it safe enough so I backed off and made it easier for H@L  :wheelchair: to overtake. But buy doing so I lost contact and couldn't reach up to were I where before. :'(  Grats to all on the podium and a very nice race indeed (Still got my shades on)  8)
Until next race...

 / Jorgen

How come the race was less than 40mins? ??? I was expecting another lap.

Yeah, I noticed that at the start when it said "Lap 1 of 20" in the gtr-xd when I had calculated it would be 21. Was gonna say that but I expected everyone to have noticed it.

This happens in some of the standard tracks, a certain amount of laps is assigned according to the race lenght and sometimes the laps are too few.

Really surprised with my pace, never really driven this track before and had not done much setup work.
Started 3rd, maybe could have been better had I not encountered a couple of frozen DBR9s on the racing line. (CTD?)
Seemed to be keeping up with TT and was looking forward to a good battle with the top 3.

First of all, I was sad that you crashed after our contact Jose, but I'm affraid it was 100% you turning into where I was.

Coming out of the corner you were on the right, so I started to move left ready for the next right hander and had no idea you had changed sides. Was expecting you to say right and go down the inside at the next corner.
BIG shock when my car suddenly got turned head first in to the wall.  :o

It’s not a UKGTR track so the race finished on distance not time as the maximum laps had not been changed????

Really sorry for that Matt, my damn pedals came off the race frame (no i still hadnt had time to bolt them down  :( ) so my expensive speed 7's were once again defeated by some two-bit velcro stick downs  ::) I careened offline, spanked the wall at high speed and then slithered and careened some more across track and finally hit the wall again hard :( Was hoping you would get by without contact but not quite. By the time my car came to a halt it was like a well rounded 50 pence piece.  :'(

Had enjoyed a great early part of the race again, dicing with spanner, HOL? Matt and Jorghenfor 6th to 10th places, trading places a few times. The car was good in the first 15-20 minutes but then as the pedals moved further away and at a a stupid angle, i started flying off track a couple of times or making mistakes. Soon dropped from 6th/7th down to 12th before my final and big off !

First thing i am doing this morning is bolting the damn pedal box down to the frame !!  :P

Not sure i am going to perservere with the C6 Vette. Love the look and sound of it but find it too much hard work to race with. Its a typical yank tank, tons of understeer and then a back-thumping lump of torque at every dab of the throttle. It means you spend the whole race wrestling it into corners only for it to try and spit you off on exit. I had to run 70 power diff just to tame the horses  :o

Dubai is still one of my top 5 race tracks for racing on...superb !  8)

Ahhh, thought maybe the cat (or missus) had jumped onto your lap
Actually watching the replay, I felt a little stupid, you were in the process of making a good recovery
until I launched you round again, if I'd have just gone right you may have been able to continue
Hindsight.... replays.....

I had a similar prob with my pedals when I'm away staying at my friends, I ended up sticking
a big board up against the wall for the pedals to fetch up against.

I know this is against the common wisdom, but.... when I have trouble with cars that spin under power
on corner exit - Aston db5, M1A, etc. I find reducing power diff to 10 or 20 can cure it, depends on how you drive
Initially high power diff will make the car want to go straight, sure, so will make it understeer out of corners
until the back slides, then both rears spin and slide making it fly off. Think British stock cars with welded diffs
loads of power slide once you get the tail out, but wants to go straight at first.
