Will you be treating us by slipping in any Super-Enduro 130min races this season Dave? (or even 100mins, to throw people out the comfort zone  >:D)

I'm afraid not, attendance last season didn't really justify it. We'll try and do a special or two at some point though.

Roll on LeMans SE ;D

Dubai in the dusk is going to be nice. It was cool to see the flood lighting coming on at Imola. One of those nice touches in GTR2 that some people will never see without taking advantage of all the game has to offer. People that dont race with changeable weather or at different times of day are missing out. GTR2 is just a slightly different version of rFactor without using the night/day and weather systems IMO.

Can we expect a temperature drop in Dubai at 18.00hrs? Or is it still rather hot there at that time of day?

With our weather files, I reckon -8 degrees ;D

I'm cursed here, and my curse continues - moving house this weekend and no internet access. Have fun all

Race was going well in my GT2 Porka Bi Turbo until a GT1 Driver decided he wasn't going to wait for me to clear the fast 2nd/3rd Gear right hander (before the immediate right hand hairpin) to lap me and instead shunted me up the rear...launched into the barriers some 30m away...car beyond repair...race over...valuable points lost :'(

Wow :o

Intense battle with TT and Jose that lasted for the entire race :D

Many changes of position and similar pit times. Gazza jumped us three in the pits and was home free after that due to not being involved in our battle. ;D

Well done Gazza TT and GT2 podiums.

I need to see the replay. That is possibly the best race I have ever been involved in ;D

The change to night made it all the more of a challenge. Truly incredable. :)

I never get on with this place and it was no different today. I had a lonely time scooting around at the back admiring the graphics at a decent frame rate for once as it got dark and hoping someone would fall off and give me the least deserved GT2 podium of all time.

Well done to all the fast people this evening, podiums etc..

Hurrah !...Race win in GT2 class for me to make it a double at Dubai this week  :thumbup1:

Jumped in late with 10mins of qual left but took 3 successive runs to get past Legzy who kept improving his time each time i went quicker, and grabbed pole with last gasp effort.  :)

As for the race, all i can say is thank gawd it was a dusk setting to give me something to admire throughout the race as didnt see anything in the way of race action or other cars really.  :(
Led from flag to finish, with Legzy giving me a bit of a scare at mid race length when he must have given his old boys in the pit some viagra to get him back out in front of me! ;D...i'd stopped with a 17 second lead but he came out about 10secs or so in front !  :o
I caught him up again fairly swiftly and got by a bit too easily, can only assume he was on shot tyres ? Last 20mins were a bit boring.

Really poor turnout tonight, if this is a sign of things to come it doesnt look great. Only 6 GT2 cars  :( though the GT1 boys looked like they were having fun at least. Where was everyone? I couldnt even get in due to a full grid only about 2-3 weeks ago  ???

I managed to set a UKGTR GT2 lap record in Qually, just pipping MJ's time from Tuesday night  ;D  Then with about a minute of Qually left, MJ crushed my time by an extra four hundredths of a sec  :taz: ;)

I knew from Tuesday that MJ would be quicker but I seemed to recall he took hard slicks for the Tuesday race, so figured he'd do the same but have to change tyres too in his Porka. I figured that if I just did my normal 4 tyres & fuel stop, he'd win so I'll gamble. Taking hards on the front & mediums on the back & just take on a bit of fuel at my stop. Thinking I just had to be fast but sensible & I'd get a big jump from the stops  8) Race was going to plan, MJ was creeping away each lap, but I had managed to build up an even bigger cushion to the guys behind.

Midway he pitted about 17secs ahead, I pitted the next lap & came out only 8secs ahead of him :o :o :o I was hoping for a 20+sec cushion at least! Did you only change one set of tyres MJ? I knew the gap wasn't big enough & in fairness, you got past me with ease & just flew away the entire rest of the race as I hemorrhaged time lap after lap with my under-steering car with worn tyres. Well done MJ, I don't think I could have kept with you what ever I did in this one  :notworthy:

Very happy with my 1st ever 2nd place (though as MJ pointed out, it was a lonely race) & a double celebration as teammate Blunder picked up third spot for possibly a 1st ever Team Oldie double podium finish  :jumpjoy:  Look out Legends & Sharks, there seems to be life in the oldie dogs yet  ;)

Well Done all podiums/finishers.

Really odd race  8)
Had a bit of a struggle to get the kids to bed in time so I could be in on the server and do a quali lap, with out of having kids telling me they need stuff all the time  :cursing:
Managed to set a 1.53 "something" with 95L in the tank and was pleased with that. Race starts and I feel relaxed and comfy in my seat, the pace lap went okay... then the sprat hits the fan. (I have just watched the replay and, I wont say who's misstake or error it was but I think drivers need to go just a tad easier the first few laps  :-\ ) I really didn't have any where to go but to try to make as little damage as possible to my own and the other cars. :'( I managed to rescue roadrunner's and my car quit good but I got hit from behind... and also him... again (nothing serious happend to my car's so I waited for the WHOLE GT1 and GT2 field to pass and struggled back on to the tarmack and to where I left off  ;) Had a blast on my way up through the GT2 field and finally caught up on the end of the GT1 drivers... ;D Grats to Podium finishers and to all the drivers that held out till the end. Do look at the replay and see for your self

A "would be a great race", though I must say it was marred a bit by too many contacts. Must see replay first, before I say anything else.  :(

Other than that - which it may just be we're a bit spoiled here comparing to other Championships and Leagues ;) - it was one of the greatest experiences since the begining of time my on-line racing. Close racing for the whole time with Gazza, Jose and, of course, H@l.  8)
Getting 2nd place was a boot, a prize given by a gentleman H@l who didn't want my place so bad to make a contact. :notworthy: Hat off to you, sir.
I don't remember any other race here where I'd have swapped places as many times as I did in this race. Close racing with Gazza, Jose and H@l, slipstreams, defensive driving, exploiting others weaknesses and mistakes, pit strategy, fuel, cold tyres, worn tyres overheating tyres. There was everything and I had to use every known trick to me to get my second place. That pesky Gazza was lucky to have us battleing behind him, we fell into our own trap and it slowed our pace. But that's racing, what else can you do in a position like that. Well done, Gazza.  :thumbup1:  Good stuff, Jose and H@l.  :)

Bad luck to get punted, JPS, be sure to make some steps.  >:(
Well done, MJ, with your pace it seems like you're striding to take the title.  8)

Lapping was great for me, well done guys.  :)

TT

No i changed all four corners Legs. Total pit 'stopped' time was 53? seconds. I ran the race as two 40-45 minute sprints really, something i havent done in enduro for ages, so took on fresh tyres all round and 45mins of fuel. If there had been a bigger GT2 field i probably wouldnt have risked that strategy as its easy for others on long fuel runs to leapfrog you. I doubt i could have survived on any one set of tyres at Dubai as i use fairly stiff ARB's here and the track temperature is usually high.

Well done on your podiums gents  :)

After my 2 previous starts in this series where I didn't even make past lap 1, it was very nice to finish 6th and on the same lap as the leaders.

I profited from the 1st lap carnage and managed to get up to 5th where I attempted to hold off the GT1 drivers trying to regain their places. Had a fun battle with roadrunner (although a bit frustrating for you I can imagine, RR) where I was doing my utmost to hold the racing line and make it difficult to pass. Good stuff!

The remainder of the race was pretty lonely at times, probably due to the low number of drivers, but the onset of dusk was nice to look at. Do any track lights eventually come on this track? It was getting pretty black towards the end.

yeah i thought that too. I wonder if the Dubai track has any track lighting built in as it was noticeably absent, whereas at Spa you get it at several locations around the track. The only thing i noticed lit up was the big glass building...obviously full of large corporate arab types  ;), that looked pretty cool.

My amber euro spec headlights looked pretty cool too, lighting up the way forward.  8)

The GT2 drivers title is looking wide open after three events (still some work to be done MJ ;)) & the team title is looking close too. I'm sure Blunder & me will do all we can to make sure you Legends have to earn that title  :fencing:. Definitely a shame the turnout was so low last night though  :(

Nah I remember at the time you being understandably disappointed & "hoping that the people that took your 'regulars slot' would continue to race each week". Hopefully they'll all be back next time round. Had a quick blast at Road America & looking forward to getting to grips with it.

dont worry Legz, ive just done some voodoo on them and their sim cars will mysteriously burn into flame onto the grid next time they bother to show up  :ninja:  ;) ...i had to ritually sacrifice a model ferrari by setting fire to it, to make it work  ;D

As for Road america, yeah i had a quick blast around it last week to check it out and it feels mighty quick ala Spa, looking forward to that one.  8)

Just watched the replay. Incredable, definitely the best race I have ever been in. ;D

Great battles with TT, Jose and Lazlow. Seemed not to fight Gazza some how. ???

Sorry for the tap at one point Jose. Nice job keeping it on the track.

GT2s were well on form with the passing, allowing the GT1 battle to rage on. Thanks guys. It can not have been easy with 3 fighting cars to let passed at one time.

I know that I slowed Teammate Lazlow at one point when he was lapping me, because he couldn't see my car at all in the race, just my 'tab' label. I had the same thing with you H@L, couldn't see your car except for the 'tab' label. Shocked the life out of me one time as there was suddenly an engine roaring next to my car & then your name tag overtook me!

I had that during the inter-league race yonks ago. Leaders came through but could only see the tags. I ended up coliding with one of them but as soon as i stopped the cars appeared. Might just be GTR2's number of cars setting that tends to just do your local group, might not have updated when new cars appeared.

This was a strange race for me.

Quailed quite well behind teamie H@l who gave me a scare on the start when it seemed like he forgot to realease his limiter   ???  Turn 1 got punted, recovered and then had slight tap with another car which made us both spin so was down to 6th i think. Got going again and caught the guys up front but couldn't get really close until a few of them had mistakes and was up to 3rd or 4th. Pitted just after halfway and amazingly seemed to jump the 3 ahead of me with a 4 second gap. Expected them to catch me pretty quick but somehow they never did and i even pulled away, (guess them fighting each other slowed them down).

One other scary moment was when i was lapping a GT2 and as i flashed my lights to say thank you for letting me pass i caught the downshift paddle which threw me from 3rd gear straight to 1st which knocked 10% off my engine health  :P

Have to say sorry to Blunder hope i didn't cost you anything.

Guess you are talking about invisible cars. When this happens, try pressing "+" and then "-" or viceversa (you switch to next/previous car view and back to yours) and see if the other cars appear. Works for me :)
