Back for this - will be in an unfamiliar car with no setup and no practice time so it should go very well.

Would you not give your Lambo one more chance to see if the new alterations have helped it? Could make your life easier  :)

It's still got the lumpy engine and dodgy brakes. I really don't understand why the engine has a dead spot - I think it's something to do with how the engine drag and torque curves interract but haven't had time to look at it properly.

Though first thoughts that an enduro round here would be a nightmare for lapping, i cant quite get this addiction out of me so i'll probably be turning up.

We might think of a same track for Sprints and another one for Endurance races.  :)  Repetition of the same track, same car is a bit tedious. Guess I didn't think it through on the voting.  ::)

You could try driving a different car in sprint and endurance. :)

Having a good scrap with Gizmo, however looking after my daughter and trying to race at the same time just didn't quite work out, had to pull out as other duties suddenly demanded my attention. Look forward to Silverston.

So how do you actually serve a SnG penalty?
I went into the pits twice, and both times my pit crew came out like it was a regular pitstop. First time I passed them hoping there was some kind of a penalty pit stall further down the road. There wasn't any. Next lap I stopped in my pit stall, but got the pit screen, pressed escape and was out of the race.

Well after being away for a while from simracing, I entered this race with bare to none practice, and thus it was kind of getting used to it again.

Poor qualification and while racing I actually did a couple of laps faster then my qualy time. And then... mistakes slept in and all went wrong ;D

Go to your own pit stall. Select serve SnG option from pit board, push enter. Wait about 10 seconds. Drive away.

Having a good scrap with Gizmo, however looking after my daughter and trying to race at the same time just didn't quite work out, had to pull out as other duties suddenly demanded my attention.

Pity - you're rapidly taking over from the Turtles as my nominated nemesis!

Had done zero practice in anything so I jumped straight out of my Radical race, found I had a setup for the 360 for Nurby so I slapped that on and hoped for the best.

Dead last in qually but only by a couple of tenths so I figured there was hope for the race; that increased when it became clear that I wasn't going to need fuel, just tyres, so despite a load of little mistakes I jumped 57goldtop in the stops by a big margin - which it turned out I needed as I had a big off and lost most of the gap over him rejoining. :o

Check out 2071 seconds into the replay - an utterly genius way of letting three cars lap me. :D

So how do you actually serve a SnG penalty?

There's an option on your pit board you have to select. Try it offline so you don't get caught out again. ;)

Apologies for the punt Prof - it certainly wasn't deliberate. Looking at the replay it appears that our lines are very different through that corner and we met where we converged. Still, my responsibility to pass safely and I made the right decision to take a drive through.  :-[

Bah, i got gazumped by team Oldie

Had a good qually battle with Legzy for 2nd place honours behind the flying Purdie, swapping places a couple of times and Legz did enough to grab the 2nd slot.

Race was good fun from the start with me and Legz squabbling for about half hour over that 2nd place with purds about 4-5 secs up the road. Eventually Legz got tired of my unwanted attention and threw himself off the road taking me with him in his spinning top motion  ;)  ;D
That gave me a chance to chase Purds but although i got the time down to 6 secs he then upped it a notch and pulled away from me again to 8 secs.
About 2 laps before my scheduled stop, with hot worn tyres and feeling hot myself i got squirrely under braking, tried to correct and got that nasty 911 pendulum swing that threw me off into the gravel costing me 20secs and any chance of catching Andie. Legz also scampered past and i was mighty annoyed with myself  :(
I dont know what happened at the pitstops  ??? i made a standard stop for tyres and 45mins fuel costing me about 50 secs, but when others stops shook out, i found myself 10 secs behind Blunder and 30 secs behind Legzy  :o   ..you boys must feed your pitcrew Viagra and red bull mix !  :-\  How did you both manage to gain so much time on me ?
I closed down on Blunder up ahead in 3rd and got the time down to about 4-5 secs but then kept getting caught by blinking GT1 cars in sector 1, yielding, and losing 1-2 secs every time  :taz:
The same happened when i closed the gap to get right on his butt, but eventually i started applying more pressure and was lining him up for the kill to get 3rd at least. My lap counter showed 50 of 56 laps complete and the GT1 leader was 4 laps ahead so assumed i had 2 more laps to get the job done...but then the race seemed to finish early  >:(

Good battles with the two Oldies drivers tonight made for a great race. :fencing: My one off and the pit time mystery  :shifty: meant i lost a 2nd place to finish 4th behind the pair of them  :'(

Well done to Freq and Purds and other pody guys. Good driving by all too  :thumbup1:

Wow, fantastic race again ;D

Great fun trying to follow Gazza for the first half and another awesome battle with Jose for the 2nd half. Me and Jose changed positions many times and did several corners side by side. :D

It was very hard to pass Joses F550. He had me on the straights so I had to do the overtaking in the braking zones. I outbraked my self a few times and almost took Jose and my self out of the race. Luckily, Jose saw it coming and and did a switch back on me. The fight was hard but fair I thought. Really fun.

I am very pleased with 3rd. I only beat Jose because he made a mistake on the last lap.

Dave can you put KERS on the C6R in the next update? I need it to overtake Gazza and Jose on the straight. ;D

Sorry for spinning you at one point Jose :-\

I also performed a bad rejoin in front of a GT2 at one point. Sorry for that, who ever that was. :-\

Nice one Gazza and other podiums. I was so glad it did not rain. :)

I was robbed, 80 mins of racing only for the damn game to crash on my last lap. This seems to be happening quite a bit to me. I'm wondering if this is my version of the crashes others have during qualifying. As people finish and leave the game dies  :-\

I was a lap up on both Dave and GoldTop, the lapchart result reflects this, sadly Dave's importer doesn't  :'(  ::)  :-*

:sweatdrop: Phew! Made me sweat again just to look at it!  ;D  It was a great scrap, I must say, probably the most difficult defense I did in this game, ever. Great video, I must say. Something to show to grandchildren - how weird would that be! :D  "Look, my boy, when I was young..."   :P  Love it.  :-*

I must say I had a crappy race today - same car, same track, same weather and totaly different.  ???   Had a stop&go for speeding in the pits - switched it on manualy just to notice I actualy swithed it off. St00pid.  :-X

TT

and we were in Ferrari's too ! Your worst nightmare  ;D

Thanks to Legzy for an excellent stategy. ( I could tell you... but then I'd have to shoot you  ;) )

My 2nd class podium in GTR2! ever!
Finally getting to grips with GTR2 a little! but still need to adjust my driving style more.

After a good pitstop I knew you were there MJ and I knew you were catching so just tried to put in some solid laps.
Was doing well but missed my braking point for one corner which cost me about 4 seconds which really made the difference.
Drove very defensive on the last lap but the 430 is great round the twisties and I just held it together to the finish! phew!!

Great fun! Thanks all

M.

Cool race  :D

Tried to beat Napo's LR in quali but didn't even breach the 32's, managed pole with a low 33 which was almost pipped by Legzy  ;)

Felt very sorry for nfast as he became a victim of Roadrunners (<--ul teamie) CTD at the start of the pace lap. He very patiently waited for most of the field to pass, Ron Dennis asked me to wait for him but I didn't  ;)

Start was fun harassing the back of the GT1 field until their tyres warmed up and they took off. With Legzy and MJ in tow all indentical on lap times, I only pulled out a gap with them battling. Then MJ started threatening but my front mediums finally got some temp and I had a good car under me.

I started with 100L and planned to pit about lap 35/50 and after carrying a lot of fuel I just needed to add 10 litres and a set of soft/med and came out still in the lead of gt2. Had a 15 lap sprint to the end of the race  :)

Grats FreQ and all GT1s for your patience on a tight track  8)

Hi all, Well this was my first ever race as; and it was a nightmare. qulified in 10-11 and after some confusion at the starting grid i started the race in 8th possistion. managed to run the whole 40min first 1/2 without incident and without losing possistion. pitted in at lap 41 for and all was going o.k.
on the pit exit i accidently turned my pitspeed limiter off and earned myself a stop and go.
So I came out and pushed hard round and straight back into the pits for my stop and go, came out of the pits in 11th and continued to push as hard as i could. I managed to take back a couple of slots from the GT2s but I was pushing harder than I could control and eventually fell off the track. made a terrible re-join and 2 or 3 cars had to quickly find a way round me and atleast on of them ended up off the track (sorry who ever that was). So i got back on the track and another half a lap and someone slammed into my osr. by now i was in like 15th or 16th i think and decided to just try and relax and just make it round without causing any more problems for anyone else. then with less than 2mins on the timer my engine blew up (i wasnt even downshifting) guess i need to think more about the car setup for endurance.

all in all it was a good experience which im glad i had.
I just hope i didnt anoy too many people and I'm sorry to those that I did.

I wish i could have finnished but then theirs always next time.

EDIT:  Sorry to Mcfids for very a bad rejoin, I have no excuse just got caught up in the moment.

(see you at silverstone on tuesday)

Qually went brilliantly. Set a PB of about 1:33.8, Purdie was ahead  :o ;) but then MJ knocked about three thousandths of a second off my time  >:(, went back out & knocked another tenth off my time on my next flying lap... then another four tenths on the lap after that to put me clear of MJ & challenging Purdie. Where all this pace was coming from I had no idea but I don't like to complain  ;). Managed to get up again by two tenths in the 1st sector twice but couldn't carry it to the end to move up to 1st GT2 on the grid. Very happy with 2nd though... always nice to have MJ behind  ;)

Due to the extra flying laps, I didn't get a chance to do any driving with a heavy fuel load & found the car under-steering on the fast bends & over-steering under braking. MJ would have had a good view of that from half an inch behind me for ten plus laps. We were tagged on the back of Purdie till the GT1's were no longer holding him up & the pressure from MJ started taking all my attention. I was driving on the edge/past my ability & you did brilliantly not to catch me a few times  :notworthy:, eventually I missed a (another) braking point, tried to overcompensate by getting the power down with some opposite lock, a wheel slipped on the kerb & as I span, this time you could avoid me. Lucky I think it was minimal & I was pleased to see you scamper off down the road... also that we'd built up enough cushion for me to get going again still ahead of Spanner.

Spanner was on my tail for the next one & a half laps but think he lost his back end at T2 which let teamie Blunder slip through & I surprisingly (after Tuesday's sprint) didn't see Spanner again. MJ was then pulling away from me & had already upped the gap to about eight/nine secs as I increased the gap back to Blunder. I was just settling my ambitions for third place (despite not being half way in the race yet) when from out of the smoke & sand I saw MJ recovering & I slipped though back into 2nd ;D.

Having felt like I lost any chance I may have had, during pitting in the last two races... I practiced pitting a fair bit before last night... it paid off. I felt like I gained about a 10-15 sec advantage over MJ (& maybe I got lucky with traffic :-\) & when Purdie later did his pit stop I was only 11 secs behind him. So it paid off. The race excitement kind of tailed off after the pit stops, Purdie too far ahead, Team mate Blunder bringing home third a safe buffer behind me, I was just able to knock in a couple of decent laps, concentrate on keeping it on the black stuff & enjoy watching the GT1's fly past.

Thanks to all the GT1 lappers, all well done & most patient.

Yet another most enjoyable race & Team Oldie have worked ourselves a decent position in the Team championship too (nice one partner :)).  I wonder if the two Legend's Porka's will be able to respond at Silverstone  :-\  :-* ;)

Started 8th and finished 8th - not to bad for me as the C6 was a bit of a handful in the twisties.

Counted myself very lucky at the start when Roadrunner CTD on the grid alongside me (as opposed to in front of me!), which must of caused carnage as I didn't see a car behind me on the pace lap until halfway round.

After my pitstop, Nsfast was starting to gain on me and was soon on my tail. At this point another car was rejoining the track near the last turn and I went wide trying to avoid him. Bit of shame there Nsfast, it was looking to be a good scrap with very evenly matched cars.

I must apologise to Craske (I think) for rear ending you on T1 - just lost my braking point. That was my bad  :-[

Well done to the podiums. And especially Freq, who lapped me as if I was driving a Robin Reliant :)

Not a particularly enjoyeable race, my driving was terrible and seemed completely off the pace to everyone else. Though that was probably down to me not getting much (any) practise in since tuesday and i started playing around with the setup thinking meds/ hards would be a better option and would hopefully last the distance. Clearly not.

After the rather fast pace lap i just couldnt stick with MJ and Legzy upahead and i guess i was just pushing too hard as a few mistakes started creeping in and was struggling on the tyres. Good racing while it lasted with Blunder but when i came in to pit i saw MJ in the next bay so thought i cant be doing too badly, changed tyres back to soft/med and filled back up having done an equal stint, thinking around here a full load would be too much of a penalty. Came out 10 secs down on Picnic but once i got up there i just couldnt get by, I was quicker through the corners but he killed me along the straights. Just pushed too hard and hit the barrier before the back straight which bent the steering meaning i could barely get round a corner and while sitting in the gravel trap for the second time I gave up.

Just looking forward to Silverstone, dont tend to do that well but i like it.

And congrats to the Oldies for a major step up in speed, was shocked when i saw your time legzy in qually.

its a right tight fight up front in the championship  :)

Look see:-

1 Legzy   51.0pts Ferrari 430 10.0 5.0 12.0 12.0 12.0      :o   ;D
2 purdie   42.0pts Porsche 997 GT… 12.0   15.0 15.0
3 Mark Jonzo   37.0pts Porsche 997 GT…  7.0 15.0 7.0 8.0
4 Blunder   34.0 Ferrari 430  6.0 10.0 8.0 10.0
5 JPS   32.0 *Mixture* 6.0 12.0 7.0 5.0 2.0
6 evert blommert   30.0 Ferrari 430

Me and purds are fighting the Porsche corner v Ferrari  8)  My teamie JPS is in the mix too, in the Legends V Oldies battle  :)

I bet i am gonna rue not being able to get in the first round at Spa, where i won the sprint, blinking 1 race no show merchants who all disapeared after race 1  >:(  ::)

Bring on silverstone  :)

Nobody was more shocked then I (except maybe MJ :whistling:)

As MJ says, we're having a cracking GT2 championship, but with 45 points left to play for.... I'm just taking it one race at a time   (sorry, I've always wanted to roll that old chestnut out :D)

Qual 9 Race 7

After a nightmare start that was easily my best race in the GT1s this season. Its the first time I have felt at home with the Ford and for once a clean pitstop, and no spins or SnG's.  :)

Some good racing in the middle of the race with Syd Drake, Craske and Mcfids. Although, it seemed that just as I caught up with them something seemed to go wrong for them.

Conrgats to the podiums. Looking forward to Silverstone.
