Autódromo José Carlos Pace or Interlagos is the venue of the Formula One Brazilian Grand Prix, located in a suburb of the city of São Paulo, named after José Carlos Pace, a Brazilian Formula One driver, who had died prior to its naming. It is still widely known by its former name, Interlagos. The land on which the circuit is built was originally bought in 1936 by property developers who wanted to build accommodation. However, it was discovered that the land was unsuitable for housing, so a racing circuit was built instead. The present design of the track dates from 1990, when the original circuit was shortened from 7,829 m to only 4,397 m (so that it could fit the new FIA restrictions on track length). The original track allowed cars to keep maximum speed for up to twenty seconds and was considered very dangerous (though no one ever died there racing Formula One) but since 1990 the old layout was completely abandoned. We are using the original 1973 layout…

I got 3rd in qualy but at start as soon as I hit throttle the engine blew. Luckily I promptly reset at the green flag and started on the left side loosing a couple of spots. Later I had battle with Evil but I had messed up with long gears before the start and my 5th was too short on the straight and I couldn't gain by Evil's tow. When Evil spun hitting the nasty cone at T4 I followed him but I managed to restart ahead. A couple of spin at T1/T2 made me loose places and in the end I had a nice battle with Rich but I didn't manage to pass him till he got wide at last lap.
Ciao

I was't really ready to race, first time in a 69 car, never seen the track before and didn't set up VROC until juts before the race with help from Hristo. Having said that it wasn't as bad as I thought, the 69 cars are really good fun, can braake much later into the corners than I'm use too.

Started the race, and my engine broke, started to billow smoke and not rev, didn't think I could Shift + R so I struggle around for 2 laps like that. I then tried a Shift & R and was happy to see it was allowed. After that I just kept out of everyones way and enjoyed driving the track, stopped after a few laps because my rears where overheating and was spinning all the time.

I'll be at Watkins next race, at least I don't have to learn the circuit this time.
