This track is a burden on the tyres... front right doesn't get up to temperature and rears overheat when skidding too much :o

Are we gonna get rain tonight? :)

Qualified 9th with a new pb, the race didn't start well for me held everyone up at the start and then when i did eventually get going I had a couple of collisions with simon gyner (sorry for that mate) think i managed to settle in to 12 or something then all the cars on the track started to dissapear and reapear then shortly after all the cars disappeared and didn't come back so i pulled over and escaped out.
hope I didnt course any carnage for anyone when this happened and sorry if i have.

Well the rain didn't come!

Qualified 6th I think, Had a 2 car train behind me this time.
I was struggling to get the car to turn in, the tire wear on the front left was about 2 higher than the rear, however the lefts were at the 20's. Perhaps I should have ran Hard fronts. Was catching 2 beamers near the end of the race however I wasn't going to catch them in time. One of them went off or something.

Finished 8th. Didn't really expect much anyways. :P

Congrats to Busi, Gazza and TT on the podium.  :)

Quali went well, ended up 5th with a slightly slower than PB. After first couple of laps pressure from Napo, pulled about 3 secs on pack behind. Stayed like that for most of race, intil about 10 mins to go, then RoadRunner started to close in at about 3/10th's a lap as my med fronts went off. managed to hold him off for the last 2 laps with him basically attatched to my rear bumper, great close, safe driving mate :notworthy:. That's easily the best race I've ever driven , no spins, not overtaken, no off track adventures. Gratz to the alien podium :alien: :ban: , cant wait to come back here next season

Frustrating race really... ::)

Looking at the old records I thought 1:48.5 would be a pretty good time with the 360 GTC, though in qualy I was a few tenths above that.
But all those addon cars are so much faster... it's silly.

Although the F430 looks nice from the outside, the interior is so horrible I can't stand racing it ;D

Made a mistake at the first corner after a couple of laps, then the chasing begun and it was pretty fun while it lasted because after overtaking Dave a few corners further my engine blew up :'(

What an action packed race :sweatdrop: No chance to rest at all. Sorry about the taps Napo but you were horribly slow around the slow stuff holding me up but you would stretch the legs down the straight! Then dropped back and had a brilliant race with Lazlow for quite a few laps with us barely half a sec apart for most of it until we came together around Stowe dropping us back then after Legzy tripped over a slow Picnic I managed to get past eventually but couldnt quite catch Legz who had sped off, almost catching Steve.

Not a good race points wise but i still enjoyed it :)

Disco for me also. Anyone know what causes these ???

Lots of potential things - could simply be that your ADSL or cable connection dropped. Have you got a log on your modem/router that would tell you that? Or was it not just a disco but the game crashing?

Oh and apologies to Dave.....I lost it through Abbey and collected you on the way out. :-[

No problem - I could see you were about to go off but hoped I could squeeze by on the left but as often happens at Abbey you ended up coming back across.

That bent the front a bit but even after 57gt disco'd, with Jimmie still behind - and then in front - I had something to race for. But then his engine went and I was 30+ seconds back from the next car and losing time to it, so I decided to turn it into practice for Sunday and do a pit stop. Threw a fresh set of mediums on and had the splitter fixed and came back out just ahead of Shark; let him by whilst my tyres were cold but was then able to follow him quite easily with my fresh tyres and a car that worked again.

Spoiled the end of the race by dipping a wheel off on the exit of Priory and had to wait for the whole field to go by to rejoin. Then spun again coming out of Luffield on the last lap. ::)

Not exactly a vintage performance but at least it's given me a working knowledge of the car for Sunday.

I was lucky to be racing tonight & only managed to join with a fraction over a min qualifying left.  ;D

So started in last slot on the grid (20th) but treated the race like it was a pure bonus just to be there & that's exactly how it turned out to be :D

Had done a bit of scouting earlier in the week so was confident of set up etc & just went for it really. Had some great little fights along the way. The BMW's & the Panoz were just too quick down the straights, but I would claw everything back on the corners in my F430. Got myself upto about 10th then had to spin my self to avoid hitting my team mate who seemed to be moving like a snail round the last bend before the back straight. As I recovered my self from the middle of the track, I think I nudged Picnic who's caught me back up in the process (sorry). Having already worked hard to get past him & Steve Holmes (I might owe Steve a little sorry too, I seemed to wait an age before accelerating out the last bend & then I nicked your front right wing when I finally felt it safe to go  :-[). Stick in some fun with Napo, Picnic brake testing me  ;) (which sent me wide & let Spanner through)... then having to get past Spanner & Picnic again with minutes left & then chasing down Steve again, who just pipped me to the line  :taz: ;)

I hope Sunday lives up to that I really do! Hopefully I'll get to qualify then & try to stick with MJ (which looks unlikely after tonight, great driving/times mate) for as long as possible!

Enjoyed that  ;D

Was a little surprised to start 2nd as not done alot of practise here, only a bit last night. Wasn't sure my race setup was good enough and was worried about the front tyre wear. Started ok but soon had MJ close behind, Didn't trouble me to much except he was quicker round the last few corners under braking.

Busi started pulling away so just settled down keeping MJ and TT behind. Think MJ made a slight mistake which let me get away slightly and allowed TT to pass and then chase me down. Last 10 mins or so TT was very close as my front tyres were very worn and i was slow into corners but the Panoz just had enough speed on the straight to keep me ahead. The last corner was TT's best chance to get me down the inside but i kept it neat and tidy on the apex and just made sure i got a nice clean exit and it was just enough to get a nice 2nd. MJ came on strong at the end too and was very close behind.

Grats Busi and TT

Great race again, been some superb rounds lately.  8)

My car felt great and i knew i had decent pace around here. Held pole position for most of qually but with 7 or 8 mins remaining, first one then two of the Panoz's got ahead with their brute pace. Qualied a very respectable 3rd ahead of TT's Fezza.  :)

In the race i knew i had no real chance of getting past the two panoz's unless they made an error or their tyres wore out towards the end of the race. I could attack around Priory & Luffield but they would always have the grunt to get away down the straights again. TT kept the pressure on me for the first 20 minutes allowing Gazza to pull out a couple of seconds. I gradually eeked out a 2 sec gap to TT, but then i got a wheel on the very edge of the kerb on the fast exit out of Copse and the car got spat across the track at high speed  :o i barely managed to hold on, taking to the escape road and rejoining the track, but losing 3 seconds to allow TT to shoot past and take 3rd place :'(
I set about chasing him down but he didnt put a foot wrong and even eeked out a couple of tenths more on me whilst he chased Gazza for 2nd.

With about 3 laps remaining i re-caught the pair of them as they dualled ahead and the 3 of us ran within 1-2 secs of each other with a 13 second gap back to 4th place  :o I was hoping to get past one of them if they lost momentum in their attacks but they kept it together like the quasi aliens they are and we all crossed the line within a few tenths of each other. Great stuff  8)
That single wobble cost me 3rd  :( though i think TT would have attacked me hard in final minutes of race so who knows if i could have held on !

Was expecting (and fearing) heavy rain, but glad it turned out a great dry race. Congrats to Busi on his rather lonely win up front and TT and Gazza for the podium  8)

Like you said, MJ, we were at equal pace. It might had been a bit easier for me as I was behind and had a clear view of your lines so I was able to stick with you but not pass. After some early pressure I saw Gazza was able to move away so I let go a bit so you could stay close to him and maybe pass him. From Valencia I knew Panoz can be passed through twisty parts of the track by Porsche and F430. MJ was staying close but when half the race was comming near I decided I will have a go on 3rd place. Well, it wasn't necessary :P and it's just as well. Hard to race a teammate for pody.  :-\
Gazza was about 3,5 seconds in front and I needed 10 minutes to come close enough to start a pressure. Don't you ever make a mistake, Gazzer?!  :wetfish:  When I was close I saw a slight twitching of his car, warping ever so little and it was hard to judge when I'm too close. Came alongside once or twice and I even think there was a slightest touch in the last turn, scared the hell outta me. :o  So I tried to get close enough on other parts of the track - no go, Panoz is too fast on the exit and slipstream didn't help. Good driving there, buddy 8), no mistakes and good show in steering the beast through that final two turns.

Bad luck, MJ, I don't think I could pass you either if you didn't make it easy yourself.  :-\  Bad luck for JPS as well.  >:(  Steve, how's the itch? You comming back next time?  ;D
X - don't you have to study on Sundays? You know, Monday exams and some such...  :P  Grats on the win.  ;)

I must say I enjoy driving F430, it obeys me so I can take it to (my) limit - even with a high tyre wear car acts predictably. And for once it's fast enough to be on equal terms with the porker.  :)

TT

Definitely not a crash. I'll look into ADSL as it seems to be happening a lot. I haven't got a clue about these things really, so I'll need to do some serious research on this.

Thanks for your help Dave.

That was quite fun, was a bit frustrated with my pace after thinking I'd actually managed to get a good setup for once, was nice and planted in all but the slowest corners, where it was a bit of a bucking bronco, couldn't get the power down at all.  That last corner was a nightmare, lost it once and dropped 2 places, could see Picnic was also finding me a bit rubbish out of the slow ones, I saw you have to avoid a few times, sorry mate, I was doing my best!  :P

And then for the same reason I got a BTCC-style love-tap off Legzy that sent the car fishtailing and lost me a couple of places, but that's just racing when I was so painfully slow getting out onto the pitstraight.

I had good close racing all race long, but I only ever benefitted from others fighting hard or making mistakes, might be nice to actually overtake on pace one day.......

Well done TT and MJ, you got the most out of those cars.  :thumbup1:

Steve, how's the itch? You comming back next time?  ;D

Shhhh, not on a public forum.  Actually the lotion's working wonders. :D  Be rude not to try and thread a GT1 through the kart track that is Oscherschleben, could be funny.  :)

Think I agree with Jimmie about the add-ons, coulda just been the circuit but the stock cars did seem a little down on pace last night.

That was the most pleasing thing from last night that i didn't crumble when i knew you were quicker and catching me, a while ago i probably would of panicked and gone off and let you past.

Hving just seen the replay Lazlow i appologise as i thought i'd tried to give you room and from your car it looks like i was moving across, though i was trying to keep to the outside and stay in a straight line. Though i did see you'd locked up ;D
