Will be testing the GDC Ferrari.

Could one of my fellow-GDC drivers please test the Pantera?

(Please don't crash it on the first lap  ;) )

Excuse my ignorance ::)

Am I correct in assuming this is GTL and not PnG.

If so, it might tempt me into reintalling GTL, but I seem to recall some talk about issues with this game; some difficulty with online registration ???

This is a GTL race. You need the orginal cd/dvd because it has a pretty good copy protection.
Had no problem with online registration..

Yes this Mondello race is GTL not P&G. You shouldn't have any online registration problems, it's quite straight forward. Will be good to see you join us, UKGTL isn't full of aliens, so there's always someone to race with  :)

It's worth trying to get connected to the server on Wednesday night too, as we usually manage a small crowd for some practice & end with a couple of 3 lap races  ;D

OK I have everything installed and ready to go

Multiplayer seems to be working ok, so I hope to see you Wednesday :)

I'd just like to add how easily and quickly I  was able to install the extra tracks/skins/cars for these events. I took the brave decision to install them en block and had no issues with them whatsoever. Great work guys

Another one I can't make. Sorry to be shirking my duty with the testing. Believe me, I'd rather be racing here than sitting where I will be.

I have no idea what to drive.

Hasn't Ade got several dozen skins he needs testing? You could defect to his lot for the evening.

Spot on. Send Ade a PM & ask him which of the Kerb Krawler cars still need a driver... but do it soon as I'm sure they'll start going like hot cakes  ;)

Roll up, roll up, place your bets - 2/1 says Pseudo kicks the Leggy ones ass within 2.5 mins of returning, take a punt, back the underdog and I'll give you 50/1 on him somehow managing to justify all these lovely new cars

See you tomorrow.

Anyone wants to take the new Kerb Crawlers cars out they certainly can  :)
The cars added to skin pack are.....

Mustang
Shelby GT350
Lotus Elite
Shelby Daytona
Corvette 76 & 65
Both BMW CSLs

I think they all got an outing last night with no problems so if you fancy any of the old ones then go for it.

                                                   Cheers Ade

Bugger, quali'd 5th, was in a fairly solid 3rd ahead of Lazlow after Barracus pitted. I'd just about avoided the 'Oily and Legzy show' and then lost my damn connection coming to somewhere round half way through.

Gutted, first time I've actually been fairly well on the pace (although the 914 did seem pretty quick round here compared to the other big beasts being driven round.

Hey ho.

Hope the rest of you had a good race!

Cheers, Ross

Not quite sure why I was DQ'd. Had a couple of warnings for track cutting but didn't see a stop n go message.

No problems to report with the game/cars tonight, although I have experienced problems with the game freezing when some cars load on other servers that I've tested in (not sure if this is a game fault or shaky open servers).

Anyway, great fun while it lasted and I'll be hoping to join you again when the new season starts.  :)

<cue cartoon feck-up noise> waaah, waaah, waaaaaahhh </non-cartoon mode>

Got disconected on lap 25 :(
I see Geoffers had the same so maybe it wasn't my BT exchange/line this time so I will give it another chance next week before complaining to my ISP again!

Had a problem with Jeffrey's car at end of Q. When I came back to garage (with pole I hasten to add!) his name was flickering so I quit out and came back in but it did it again. I had a a few seconds only so I clicked to race and thankfully it did put me on the grid. Maybe I didn;t see JR's car all race but there was no sign of him.

Anyway, in my panic I forgot to fuel her up so only had 9 laps of fuel on board! Started from the back though, and had a blinding start getting up to 4th I think it was by the 2nd bend!

But race-long I had far too many off's of my own! Came off on the double right-hander a lot and the 1st hairpin a bit too often too. I was having a (very distant) race long fight with Mike Cook after my pit after I got back into class position, and think I was going to catch him by the end even with my many offs and that was my focus in the race which again got ruined by a disconnect.

I'm gutted!! :(

Looks like PR had it in the bag from where I was (nice little chase we had - even thogh I was a lap down! ;)  - lost sight of him due to my beach visits, but then he came out just in front of me again after his stop!

Great fun whilst it lasted. Feel i'm gonna forget what the GTL results screens look like soon though if I don't get to the flag soon!

First I have to say sorry to Lazlow. I hit you in the first corner and that took us from 5th place to last..... >:(

After that it was just fun .Driving in the pantera gave me enough power to drive through the field and up to 4th place.
Even drove 2nd for a few laps but was unsure if we had to pit this race. As I saw so may people hitting the pit decided to make one too........ ;D
Ended the race in 4th position ..

Next week back to usual and back to the last places...............

Tough track, tough race... but fun!

First off all thanks to Jimmer for selecting this race. haven't paid much attention to Mondello but after a while it turns out to be quite a challenging track  :thumbup1:

First bends were ok but I squeezed the Korny Abarth I think.. so apologies if I didn't gave you enough room.
Then a great fight began with mister Blunder in front of me and Ade furiously trying to pass me (only horsepower saved me!)
Lasted quite some laps until I ran out of talent. Very annoyed with myself for that tap... :wetfish: can't apologies enough but hope you like the battle as much as I did!

Great drives from my teammate in the Pantera (u were flying!) and Ligel in the Beemer.

Did I forgot anything? Probably, but it was action all 30+ laps!!

Great show and will join Sandor at the back of the grid again next race (where we belong  ;) )

No worries, my bad. I picked the Abarth as it was selectable and it was in the announcement. I had to install it, as I joined earlier and that gave me problems.

Flight school is good, but not over, still have 2,5 months to go and I'm just on a 4 day holiday ;).

JOlly good race.
Was lonely in the Merc all on me own. saw people pitting around half distance, could not remember seeing
a mandatory pit, but thought I must have missed it, had enough fuel, thouh rears were getting a bit
slidey, so pitted quite without reason as it seems... came out in 8th just behind Alex, and proceeded
to hound him at every corner, was wrong sighted for a brakin  zone once and went down the fence
caught him up with Ligel trying to unlap himself, followed the Legzy and Oily Drifters club for
a few corners, then snuck underneath, had some really good door handle stuff with Alex
3 or 4 corners side by side, ace driving! so, yes you did forget some stuff :-0

That was a fantastic race throughout and enjoyed some great battling drives with Ade, Alex and a couple of others who's names escape me at the moment  :thumbup2: :thumbup2:

At around half distance my tyres seemed to be going-off so I pitted to change them.  The stop went quite well until I forgot to turn on the Limiter and immediately picked up a 'stop n go' penalty.  That along with a couple of driver errors probably cost me a  position or two - still I was pleased to finish 10th particularly as it was my first race as a member of Team Shark.  So two legends were transferred today Me and Ronaldo

Congratulations to PR, Geoffers and Mike on their podium finish and I raise my hat to everyone else for making it such a great night.

And the organisers - Thanks a million,  :notworthy:  I just can't wait to see what combination you come up with next.  In the preamble you asked we make track suggestions so here's mine - 2006 Charade its well worth checking out (if you haven't already do so).

Not one of my most enjoyable races by any stretch of the imagination (despite Oily's efforts to make it so, cheers mate, because of you it did have its moments ;D). But I'm pleased we seemed to get through that without any concerns over the skins. Thanks to everyone who raced & helped us do the test.

Roll on the proper season, with both P&G s1 & GTL s8 both starting next week  :punk:

Oh sorry mate!! What car did you have? Why only me having the problem?

Baracus, we have four new mod cars  (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3358.msg54518#post_abarth131) this season of which the '131 Abarth' that Jeff was in is one. Though none were required last night, it's probably a good idea to get them installed ready.
Jeff, sorry I was not clearer in the announcement about which abarth was available for last night. A rookie mistake on my part & lesson learnt. I just didn't spot you were in it till the very last minute (when I mentioned it in the chat to you), but by then the qually clock was already at 0:00 & there was no chance you'd have been able to get out & back on the server again  :(. When ever we have any GTC76 cars selectable, the 131 Abarth will be in the list of choices available, though it might not be one of our race options. Once again, sorry you missed out, it was good to see you'd joined us.

Don't disagree Tony but the only game I have raced the full circuit in was GPL and then there are two versions to choose from.  Is the full circuit available for GTL or PnG?

Same here, I saw so many people pitting that I thought I must have missed a bit in the announcement that said we had to make a pitstop, so I made one just to be on the safe side! And I made a real mess of it ::). Due to the light from my monitor I couldn't see the keyboard to engage the limiter so drove very slowly in 1st gear in & out of the pits. Got too close to the pit man & had to shunt backwards & forwards to get the board to come up. Then due to the light problem I kept messing up what I wanted done on the board, so the stop took nearly a minute longer than it should have done. AND I DIDN'T NEED TO DO IT ANYWAY

But anyway it was an enjoyable if generally lonely race to 2nd. Congrats to PR & Mike :thumbup1:

Finally, sorry to Ligel for bumping you into a spin at about half distance when lapping you  ::)

Looking forward to the new season, cya all next week.

But it pails in comparison to the original unfortunately (IMO). But if anyone has track or track/car combo's that you think are worth considering please pm both Legzy and I.

Don't disagree Tony but the only game I have raced the full circuit in was GPL and then there are two versions to choose from.  Is the full circuit available for GTL or PnG?

Laurie
I've only used the GTL version. It's not the prettiest looking track but it has all the variety you would ever want. Get it here http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=882. I've done several offline psuedo 24hr events here with the daylight acceleration set to 10x and it's a treat (especialy the night racing)
