Yep, got it from the link in the first post. Got it from Humyo since it downloads faster.

Come to think of it I don't think it was 53s. I'll have to check.

Chortle
Just done some track learning laps. took 17 laps before I got a complete one in driving the FIAT131
after a couple of clean ones managed 1:53.5. had done 1:55.7 in Aston, and was about to post that
I thought the Fiat was too fast... err and it's not in the group...   :D

Love this track, sort of remember it from Crammonds F1, is well done.
Times so far:

1:55.7 Aston
1:55.7 E-Type
!:59.0 A110
2:00.5 Mustang

Jag would probably be a bit faster if I spent more time in it, but it's so nose heavy, you have to
give it 3 days written notice on your intent to turn. and takes time to get used to after the others
it does have something approaching brakes though, compared to the Aston.
Stang is loverly to drive but for me is slow, don't really get on with rear engines, and someone
else would do better in comparison in the Renault.

Well I'm going to be at the back for this one. Those times are way too quick  ;)
Interested in what you can get out of the Merc Matt, If you wouldn't mind?
I'm still undecided about which to take, might give the Mini a go, BTW does anyone know why it's tyre pressures are so high?

No, but I run the fronts at the maximum (56psi I think) & they are still hotter on the edges than in the middle. Rears, I think around 35psi is about right.

Just a view from the back of the grid. I get a 1.58.9 in the Renault.

PS. What's with another 6 0'clock start. Have Tony and Legz got a milk round or are they into romantic sunrises.

Plays havoc with my old eyes. I'll have to clean me glasses

And after this it's Lime Rock with a 05:00 alarm call. Sorry but it really is just coincidence and the way that the fixtures finally played out as a result of various planned (but mainly un-planned) re-shuffles.
If many of you feel the same way just drop me a pm and I'll be happy to put the clock forward a couple of hours.

Sorry to hear that Steve, you would have loved the Alpine here! Feels great to throw it around the track... Had a quick blast and managed 1:58 with it. Haven´t tested the other cars yet.

*sob* I know! My favourite GTL car at a circuit that is rarely raced online, and that's in my top 5 circuits in the world.

Note to who wrote the race schedule: You should have taken into consideration the fact I was moving! (We'll ignore that the schedule was come up with long before I had this planned. But they still should have known:) Isn't being psychic part of the job?)

Anyway, have fun lads. I will look on enviously. Hope Team Prodigy score a win. Annoyingly I'll be online a mere hour or two after the race (if my cable company honour their word), and you can guarantee this will be the first place I visit to check the results.

Maybe I'll do an AI race there tonight before I pack up my wheel. I LOVE that first chicane. So much fun, seeing just how hard you can push it through there.

Cheers, Ross.

The Lobby is definately down. I've been trawling other GTL forums to see if there's any word on what's going on, with no joy so far.

Is there a way of connecting directly to the server bypassing the lobby if the lobby is down for a while?  I came across this:-

http://www.altbierbude.de/donate/dip.html

..which looks to allow connecting to an external server as though it's on the LAN.

Ok starting to panic now chaps! Really want to race this track online!

Does anyone know enough about using Hamachi to get around this that perhaps there's hope even if the lobby doesn't return?

I know it can be used to simulate a LAN but had a look last night and I'll be damned if I can find the articles on just how that would work for us and GTL's IP connect.

I have a problem with this track. I'm getting CTD's regularly after anywhere between 1 and 20 laps. I've tested extensively today, leaving it running AI races here, at Hockenheim and at Silverstone. Same cars each time - all GTC76 plus the mini, including the 1310 but minus the two dodgy ones. Hock ran 63 laps and Silverstone 50 without a problem. Back to Adelaide and it crashed within 5 laps. Naturally I've tried reloading this track.

GTL Lobby

As you may be aware, for the past few days, the GTL lobby has been down. We currently do not know if this is a short term or permanent situation.
Although we are aware of available software workarounds, we feel that without the time to test their effectiveness, and mode of operation, and as time is short before the next GTL event is due to be run, we would probably not be able to arrange everything necessary in time.

Therefore if at 18:00 hrs BST Thursday 9th July the GTL lobby is still unavailable, this GTL event will be cancelled and an alternative P&G Fun race will be held.
I will shortly setup the P&G Fun race and post the details.
We are sorry that we have to take this action but we have waited as long as we could for the GTL Lobby to return.

This is what I just read in Racedepartment site.

Quote:
The GT Legends lobby system is down as most of you will know. The reason is that a formerly 10Tacle owned domain name integral to the service was discontinued the other day after obviously not being paid by the now defunct 10Tacle company..

SimBin are now in the process of buying the domain name to get the lobby up and running again. If things go smooth it should be back in a matter of a few days... but if the URL can for some reason not be purchased then a patch has to be made instead in order to keep GTL alive, and that will take more time. SimBin are commited to seeing this situation through and make GTL available online again, but there are no official timelines on the matter.

Thanks for that PR. The deinstaller.exe for this track, which I have been using between reloads, does remove this file. I finally got it working consistently last night by reducing the number of cars. Not sure if it's a problem with the track or my PC not being up to the job.

Thanks also for the SimBin/10Tacle update.

Well that's good news that it's in hand at least - cheers for that PR.

Seriously annoying to think it's probably a bill for about £3 that's ruined hundreds of people's racing fun over the last week or so but at least we know what's going on.

If it's possible and not a shedload of work - I think we should sort a way of connecting directly anyway - think I'm right in saying most of us have dedicated installs for UKGTL so it's a no-brainer on that front at least.

That's a shame about letting their domain name lapse! They should be able to get it back fairly quick though in my experience.

I have used Hamachi before for GTL when the lobby was down a few years back (!). It worked great and it's very easy to set up and get going as far as I remember so it shouldn't be a problem for anyone.

If I get the chance I will look into it again and write up a step-by-step and post it here for others to add their comments, refinements, tips etc. to the process.

I'm gonna give P&G a swerver tonight as I don't have it installed yet so don;t want to go in until I have tested it at least.

See you soon ;)

We're looking at a different solution to the missing lobby. Isn't Hamachi a private LAN over the Internet? I'd be a little concerned letting my computer partake in a network of computers I don't know without extra firewall security etc.
